Update: Spoke with store manager directly, he is awesome, and sincerely apologized about my experience. I do genuinely love it here since I've been coming for years, and enjoy bringing my kids. It was just unfortunate how one employee had to behave really inappropriately. This is my local cold stones creamery. I enjoy taking my kids here, and they love it. Unfortunately, today I had the worst experience. I walked into the store, the employee did not greet me, and my family which I thought was strange. We waited, being completely ignored, until another employee came in the from the back to take our order. I told her what we wanted, my family member was telling me what he was going to order. The one who completely ignored us came to us then and said, ok so an Oreo overload in love it? And we just said yes. She started making the ice cream, when I commented to her that we will also be adding another Oreo overload in size like it. She stared dead at me, rolled her eyes, and mumbled something to her coworker. I was shocked! I immediately asked for her name because I felt her being extremely rude. This happened at approximately 1:40 p.m. her name is Cecilia. When her coworker finished up our order, I told her that was all. And then Cecilia told her she did not make the like it size of the Oreo overload as I had asked her to. So I was surprised because I've never had this type of experience here. I even had to comment to my family member that it is apparent she should not have this position here. She had a terrible attitude, not friendly. She even told me "I have the right to refuse service to anyone." mind you- we gave her no reason to! Well with that attitude she had ignoring me, and my family from the beginning I get the feeling she is not happy with working here, and taking customer request. She left to the back to I assume compose herself and came back with a different attitude towards the people waiting behind us. I will be contacting the store manager. I couldn't wait to get home and write this review. I received the best customer service ever in my life from Alysia, and I mean that with my heart. I was having a down day, like a lot of us are during this pandemic, so I decided to get some ice cream. She had such a bright smile even with the mask on when we made eye contact. Most of the transactions was the basic questions asked when choosing your favorite ice cream, but the energy she gave off. You can tell she genuinely cared about her job. I have worked in customer service for over 15 years and multiple industries and that is so hard to find. If I had my own business I would hire her any day of the week. read more

Went to Baskin Robin's and they raised their Ice Cream Cake prices. Coldstone is the same price, but taste WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better. Then I used my rewards and it was $5 off.... Better Taste, Same Price, and Employees are more friendly. Granted that the cute blonde girl working messed up on what cakes are available. Night time bike ride with my girlfriend and we decided to stop for a little dessert. She's entirely gluten-free and was surprised at how many options were avaiable! The staff took the time to listen to her restrictions, and even brought out a dietary booklet with the ingredients! Soooooo helpful-- can't express how awesome they are for doing this because it just eliminates any chance of ingesting something she's allergic to. We both got the skinny vanilla, which is sugar free and low-fat as well. Delicious and rich yet so light at the same time. Either on its own or mixed with some twix I highly recommend. read more

This review is based on the actions of employees at this location. I'm giving Cold Stone 3 stars because I love their product. However, the employees that work at this location deserve no more than 2 stars. I went to this Cold Stone location to use an email coupon (buy one, get one) that I received since I subscribe to Cold Stone's email offers. I told the two female employees what I wanted, and while one employee was starting to make my order, the other employee rang up my order on the cash register. Since it was a buy one, get one coupon, I only had to pay for one ice cream creation. So I gave exact cash and change to avoid breaking a $20 bill. This employee then joined the other employee to finish making my 2nd ice cream. They began complaining about me because I gave exact change and did not tip them. Well, there is no way I'm going to tip you now or ever in the future after you are talking about me right in front of my face! Good grief! They didn't think I could hear them because the music at this location was so loud and I happened to be texting someone on my cell phone. These employees need to be glad they have a job and get a paycheck! Newsflash: there is no law stating that I am required to tip you for doing your job! And FYI, one of these employees was Antonia. I've been a customer for a long time and I would say out of the last 5 times I've been there 4 time my ice cream was under packed and they leave the containers all drippy and sticky. Customer service has really decreased. They don't change their gloves in between customers. After visiting Coldstone Creamery at the Pike today and finding the line out of the door I decided to drive to this location instead. Early afternoon, one customer being served and I was greeted very rudely by a young lady (wish I would have gotten her name). I was rushed through ordering and there were no other customers behind me, she was VERY impatient, VERY snide, VERY short and cut me off before I could finish every answer. I asked for an item I didn't see and she rudely tapped the glass and said "it's right there" with a nasty attitude. At one point I had to ask if she could give me a minute (she blew air like she was highly frustrated) and then I ended up asking her if she was having a bad day, to which she rolled her eyes and said with an attitude "I'm just tired".......The guy working beside her even looked at her strangely and surprised by her service. I came in earlier today and was greeted by a nice girl named CC she was very attentive and courteous and was patient while I picked my ice cream she did seem a little stressed out but you couldn't blame her she was by herself on a weekend there was also a few other costumers in line but she was very quick with everyone's order. The manager Steve Weightman, is awful to the staff, is known to cuss them out, act inappropriately towards them, and regularly treats them with disrespect. My girlfriend and two of my friends have worked here and they all quit because the management treats them so poorly. Went with my wife after dinner and our service was good and the ice cream was great!!! My wife got strawberry with fresh strawberries mixed in. I got chocolate and sweet cream mixed with Heath bar and m&m's. They were pretty busy and still got us taken care of quickly. They CANNOT make ice cream! Every single time we go here there's always an issue. I get cheesecake fantasy every time, no blueberries, extra graham cracker. Every time they don't give me enough graham crackers and they don't mix it well even though I let them know about my previous experiences. I had a late night craving for ice cream and decided to stop by cold stone. It was more crowded than usual today, probably because of the heat wave. I was helped by a young man named gio who also seemed to be responsible for handling the rest of the line on his own. super friendly and cute guy who made my visit very enjoyable. Not sure if it's always this busy, but it seems some workers are more competent than others, and he is one of the good ones. After visiting a couple times, I notice there is a handful of workers who move extremely slow which I imagine can't be good during crazy hot days like today. My initial experience with Cold stone was really, really terrible. I was sick, and when I'm sick I eat ice cream, and so my sis had bought this big thing of coldstone Ice Cream and I was secretly happy, like you are when you're sick, because you know that all you have to do is sleep. But when I started eating my new Cold stone Twix Vanilla Ice Cream I realized that it wasn't really "Twix" so much as "Vanilla." I considered taking it back tocoldstone , but I was too sick to do that. So I went to sleep, angrily (I think I started to cry, actually), and then I eventually got better--the rest of the story isn't interesting. Here's where it gets interesting again. A couple of days ago, fit as a fiddle, I happened to swing by my old haunt (I swing by this old haunt about three times a week--it's my grocery store) and found myself in--surprise!--the old ice-cream aisle, where I probably find myself about twice a week, because I eat so much ice cream. Especially lately--its been hot I pulled out a Pints Plus of the new Coldstone Twix Vanilla Treat (they only make it in the pint-and-a-half version at Vons) and took it home. This new carton was exactly the same as my previous one: 99 percent vanilla with a few stale cookie pieces that were probably accidentally dropped in there by the Breyers factory elves on their break. Crumbs from their snacktime! What saddens me the most, I think, is that not all varieties of the Cold Stone new "Ice Cream That's Loaded" series are bad. Why is the Twix one so lacking? It is really, really barren. Which is one thing we have in common, and why I will always be drawn to it. read more

Ok, I know this place is a chain. However, I contend this is some of the most consistent ice cream around. If this was a mom and pop place, people would be RAVING about it. I like to give my business to the little guy just as much as anyone else, but I assume this is a franchise, they are in my hood and thus deserve my patronage. The girls at this location were so nice! I happened to be in a really good mood despite driving all over long beach trying to find a coldstone (there isn't one near my house or work so I drove out of my way using my gps to one location that had gone out of business, then wanted it so badly I drove 10 minutes down the 405 to this location.). So yeah i was super talkative, and asked to sample three new flavors I hadn't tried yet and they didn't mind at all. Chocolate Peanut butter? YUM! Oreo Creme? Ok.. kinda tasteless. French Toast? CINNAMON-Y GOODNESS!!! Obviously, I chose to venture out and get the french toast flavor instead of my regular sweet cream or cake batter. I had a gift card so I got the "Ours" size which comes with 4 mix ins. I picked brownies, raspberries, marshmallows, and pie crust. MAN is it good. That french toast just makes it, too! Even when I get regular sizes I always get brownies, marshmallows and pie crust... i love how the marshmallows get a little hard when they're cold. I dunno, Im weird like that I guess.
