Maybe it's just my taste buds, but I ordered the chicken fried steak and wasn't too impressed. The gravy on top was pretty tasty, but my chicken fried steak felt like there were hard crunchy gritty parts here and there. I wouldn't say I'm a chicken fried steak connoisseur, but I've def had my fair share of chicken fried steaks. What a hidden gem! This is one of the best breakfast diners we have ever been to! Anything you order from the menu is outstanding! Their portions are hearty and oh so flavorful! Whenever someone asks me where to get the best breakfast in town, I always refer them to Knotty Pine. This place is a little bit off the beaten path and in a strange location, but it gets really busy during business hours since it's only open for breakfast and lunch. I've been here 5 times now and every time they surprise me at how good their food is! The place is a bit small, but accommodating. It has an rustic/vintage motif that works well and is always nice to eat at. I've never had a problem with service as all the servers have been great and are always friendly and courteous. Now, on to the reason why I come here-- the amazing food! I seriously think this place has the best hash browns EVER when you upgrade them to Lonnie's hash browns. They add bacon, cheese, and onions to the basic hash Browns and good lord in heaven, they are incredible! The hash browns are already fantastic but these upgraded ingredients take your taste buds to food nirvana! I've also tried their Denver omelet and chile verde omelet and they are both amazing as well! I've also tried their chicken fried steak and it's definitely the best in town for me! It's amazing! I also enjoy their short stake of pancakes and their biscuits and gravy. Their biscuits can be a bit dry at times, but their gravy is great! I've also had the pastrami burger and it was tasty as well! I will also add that the portions here are MASSIVE. Please make sure you come with an appetite because they don't kid around here with their portions. You definitely won't leave hungry here! Usually when you order a omelet, it comes out plain with no flavor, but this one was packed with flavor, it barely needed any salt and pepper. The chicken fried steak was good as well! it's one of their popular dishes. Coffee was delicious, there's fresh cofee brewed every couple of minutes. Here, you get plenty of food! bring pants with adjustable waistlines if you plan to visit. For 2 plates and 2 coffees it will run you approximately 38.00. Leaving town and wanted some breakfast. This looks like more of a local spot. Casual hole in the wall joint but a very big menu and variety. I would not suggest coming here is your on some type of diet. Especially keto. All pretty much savory fattening food which was fine with us! We were not impressed with the pancakes as they were Kind of rubbery. However the omelette was bomb. The pastrami was delicious and tender and it was def more meat than egg and Pepper jack mixed in. My meal was def the beat. We also had the chicken fried steak which I guess this place is known for. I would say that it is slightly above average. I was not impressed with their biscuits and gravy either. One of our plates did include a nice long hair but the server was great and took ten plate back with no problem. I hate to do this but yuck! My husband and I both had a really disappointing meal. Husband ordered a Spanish omelette the salsa drenched the whole plate and had a sweet taste to it making the whole thing inedible.
