The food is always delicious. I would rate the food 5 stars but you really need to re-evaluate the service. I've been here a dozen times and always leave with same feeling. Many of the hosts and staff are rude and arrogant. Remember this is an upscale Tbones in NH, not a high class place in Boston. This food is amazing! First we started with steak spring rolls. It came with a few dollops of sauce and some onion strings; both had a slight kick. Not only did they taste amazing but the food presentation was a work of art. Next for dinner I got the bacon wrapped meatloaf with Gorgonzola smashed potatoes.... I am someone who loves mashed potatoes but these were above and beyond what I knew they could taste like. They were like velvet and super creamy. The meatloaf and bacon was cooked perfectly but like I said I would get a bowl of those mashed potatoes and be happy. Finally I wanted to give a shout out to our waitress; she was amazingly nice, spaced out everything so we didn't feel like we needed to rush, and because of these few but important things we left extremely happy. First time and not our last! Came here between lunch and dinner to celebrate my husbands birthday. Lunch menu is very affordable but the dinner menu is very pricey. Husband had the salmon and said it was excellent. I had the Tenderloin Sliders (comes with 2) with fries, it was delicious. My son had the cheese pizza from the kids menu and it was huge! Very affordable for lunch. We did order the Molten Chocolate for dessert and it was sooo good! Service was excellent and our waiter, Kevin(?) was attentive and knew what he was as doing. Takeout experience was pretty lacking. The portions we're WAY smaller than ordering in-restaurant, which was disappointing. Beautiful new restaurant. I really like the look and feel of this place, great for families but also a chic place you can have a nice night out with friends. I would absolutely come here again. We came for dinner last night, a party of 6 with two children. We had a nice, large table in the bar area, as they had live acoustic music from a very talented musician. Great cocktail and martini menu. I had the Peperoncini-Tini. Omg, this drink alone would be worth going back for. Martini made with both peperoncini and olive juice, and to top it off, three blue cheese stuffed olives. Yum. Bread, as noted by other, delicious. But the kids didn't like it. We started with Crispy Tuscan meatballs and Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna. Both amazing. Tuna was lightly seared and beautifully fresh. The crispiness of the meatballs was a pleasant surprise. The fish chowder was also extremely tasty. I found it to be surprisingly cheesy tasting, with also an underlying smokey flavor. For the mains, the kids had pasta with marina (pretty standard) and mac n cheese (delicious!!!). The table had two shrimp scampis, I was told the shrimp were tender and tasty, but the pasta was overcooked and lifeless (only disappointment about the meal). My boyfriend had the Wood Roasted Haddock, which I didn't ask how it was, but when I asked him for a taste, it was too late because he had already finished; so I assumed it was well liked. And for me, I had the Beet salad, and let me tell you, it was one of the most enjoyed salads I have ever ate. I asked to sub the arugula out for romaine, which they had no issues with. The salad is definitely on the smaller size, as its meant for an appetizer salad, but after the bread, and apps; it was all I needed. I will definitely be back, with my girlfriends for a cocktail night, Need that martini again. We might even order some food too. read more

Last week myself and 8 family members tried Copper Door after my wedding. I was very impressed by the friendliness of the Hostess's when creating the reservation all the way through the Server Collin who was top notch! We went in for lunch and each had a drink and it was about $35 pp. My Guinness Martini was awesome. We had calamari, steak spring rolls and one other appetizer that were somewhat small in portion but again it was lunchtime. We had a semi-private side room facing the street which was a perfect off the beat location. I was a bit surprised a manager did not stop over and say hello being a large party. Our server, Kayla, was great as well- Impressively prompt (I served for 7 years, seriously she was impressive), perfect amount of check ins, and super sweet. This rating has nothing to do with the restaurant's food but a out a lady who wkrms in the corporate headquarters. I purchased online a $100.00 gift certificate to the Copper Door right after Thanksgiving. Being that I live in the next state I assumed it would arrive in a few days. After a week and no GC I stopped by their restaurant in Salem but was told I needed to contact their corporate headquarters. Attempting to call to no avail I sent an email. Pamela called the very next day explaining she has mailed it the next day after I purchased it. She, too, was concerned. We both agreed we'd wait a few days to see if arrives. No luck. Pamela then said she would send me another GC via USPS priority to arrive in 2 days. She even sent me the tracking number. I checked every day and USPS said they hadn't received the parcel. Called Pam and she said she would go to the post office and check. Yes, they hadn't received it because they hadn't picked up the mail in her building! I was not pleased since I needed to send the GC out of state the next day. Pam was upset too. She personally drove to my house that day to give me the GC. And she lives 40 minutes from me. Now that is true customer service. Having been a customer service manager for over 30 years I must say Pam is a gem. read more

It was my first time here and man was I happy to be able to eat out at a restaurant again! I came with my mother and 2 year old daughter & Juan Carlo made our dining experience beyond amazing and comfortable! It's the most normal thing I've been able to take part in since this whole pandemic crisis started. The food was great & I was grateful Juan Carlo was able to make me a speciality non alcoholic drink from the bar as I'm 7 months pregnant, it was seriously delicious! Update! Gave it another try and the kinks are worked out! Much better and the outdoor patio is great for day drinking! The bread that they start off with is amazing! I loved the different variety their menu offered. I got the fried chicken and it was a bit bland. The chicken was juicy but lacked flavor. The sangria was good and better on Sunday when the pitcher is at a discount. This is a good place for appetizers and drinks. read more

I have visited both Salem and Bedford locations and continue to go back. I have never been disappointed with anything ordered off their menu and our plates go back clean. Every time I go here, something goes wrong. In a visit in the past, the experience was so bad that the manager gave me and my wife a $100 gift card to say sorry and hopefully prompt us to come back. Tonight I went for a drink and to watch some playoff hockey. I asked the bartender if there was any possibility to put the hockey game on (just asking) and he essentially just threw me the remote to find it myself like I knew their cable system. I finally found the game and put it on. I left a good tip because that's how I am, but from now on I'm not tipping anything at this place until they prove to me that they are worth it. read more

To whom it may concern:  I am writing you concerning our experience at your Copper Door restuarant in Salem NH on Saturday, November 24th, 2019. At approximately 1:03am and without any introduction, and or explanation, a woman, who later was identified as the restuarant manager by our waitress, proceeded to aggressively grab my wine glass and the glass of my girlfriend without any introduction or explanation, she just picked up our glasses. We were both startled and embarrassed.  We had purchased a bottle of wine for our dinner, and had done so more than 1.5 hours BEFORE any last call being announced. I have had the pleasure of dining all over the United States and abroad, I have never had drinks that I already ordered and on a dinner table being confiscated and or snatched as was the case in your restaurant. It is important to note that there had been absolutely no issues whatsoever with any other service. The food was excellent, our waitress was excellent and everything was going well prior to this manager just appearing out of nowhere and snatching our drinks. I also own several businesses and understand the stringent liquor laws and how maybe the manager was thinking that she was acting in the best interests of the business. However, I feel that your company should address how it deals with situations like these moving forward. The copper door is heavy! But what's inside is well worth the extra strength you use coming through it! Kim, the hostess, was extremely friendly and greeted us immediately. The restaurant is very open and modern but also cozy. There was a live singer/guitar player with a great voice and song choice. Our server Jolene also came over to us immediately for our drink order. The ice tea was freshly brewed at the table. It was a cool little contraption. If the drinks are so impressive, the food must hit it out of the park!! And...it did! We asked Jolene (who was awesome) what she recommended for an appetizer. She recommended a few and we settled on the crab dip. It was served with large chunks of real crab meat. It was "lighter" than most places since it wasn't straight cream cheese. For dinner, both my date and I got Stuffed Haddock Oscar. I got mashed and he got fingerling potato's. The meal was delicious. The only feedback we would give, the fingerlings could be cooked just a little bit longer and the seats are a bit close to the party next to you. We will definitely be back! read more

Love this restaurant. Usually go to the Bedford location. Decided to go to Salem tonight and glad I did. I ordered the filet mignon (well done but not too well done) The chef nailed it and cooked it too perfection! I mentioned that my meal was a little over salted when asked how I liked it and the waitress returned stating that my meal would be taken off the bill and our dessert would be comped! Totally unnecessary (I ate the entire meal anyway - it still was delicious); but VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!!!! Thank you to our server, Sarah, for the excellent service and attention she gave us. Was so disappointed tonight. The hostess was sweet, very busy but greeted us, and got us a great seat. Took awhile for waiter to arrive, brought us water asked if we wanted bread and as we were answering he was walking away. So we waited until he finally came back to order our drinks. Ordered dinner once drinks arrived, my drink was made wrong. As meal was being delivered waiter asked how it was, we said we hadn't even taken a bite, so he walked away. Ummm how about asking about our drinks and filling water glasses. . Never saw him again until he asked if we wanted dessert. I asked for more water as both glasses were empty. This is not the norm, (thank goodness) for this place but wondered if waiter just felt he did not want to be working. Felt like we were a bother tonight. I've been here plenty of times and usually have great food and great service. I'm not sure if the management has changed or what but I'm really upset about what happened Sunday night here. We sat down and had not been greeted by the wait staff for over 20 minutes. Finally a server came over to ask if anyone has been to us yet and she took our drink orders and looked at our IDs. About 5 minutes later a different server came up to us and asked if we wanted something to drink. We told him that we had already had somebody come over and take our drink order. His response was "I understand that but I'm your server" ok... then he checks our IDS again. Without asking for a second form of ID he takes my friends ID and walks away to have management look at it. About 10 minutes later he comes back and says "I can't serve you because that's not you". At this point he STILL hasn't asked for a second form of ID so we told him yes that is her and she has a passport, credit cards, health insurance cards, her hairdressing license, literally multiple different forms of identification! All that he had to do was ask! So he takes the passport and then once again brings it to a manager. Then the manager which was a woman with shoulder length dark hair walks over to us and says the passport is ok but the ID is not. The funny thing is that it is her driving license that she's been using for years and it's not expired so not sure was makes her ID "not okay" I'm so upset about this whole experience because never once did that server apologize to us and neither did the manager!! I understand that it is your job to check IDS but the way that he went about that was SO unprofessional and rude it honestly ruined our whole nights. I really hope that this never happens again in the future. You never know who is coming into your establishment i would be scared to see what would happen if a transgender person who is in the middle of transitioning came in and had this happen to them because they look slightly different from their photo. I hope management sees this and has a talk with their staff because that is NOT ok to say to somebody especially not the way he said it. Not to mention in the midst of this whole issue, it took over 30 minutes to get our drinks and bread and have somebody take our order. We actually watched people come in 20 minutes after us and get their drinks right away. So I know it wasn't an issue with the restaurant being busy. I'm a server myself and I would never treat a guest that way even if I had doubts about their ID there's better ways to go about things. We asked for another server after this whole thing and ended up with a really sweet girl, I wish I knew her name. I just wish the manager would have at least apologized to us I'm just so baffled by how this situation was handled. It was almost like she was talking down to us. Great way to handle guests! This used to be my favorite restaurant and now I'm not sure if I'll ever be back. **side note: not only has she had drinks at copper door with this ID that they claim "is not okay" multiple times in the past, but she just came back from Vegas with that ID and had no issues.
