Drove by here a couple times and noticed quite a flock of people hanging around on Saturday mornings. After our run at Griffith Park we came here to join the breakfast crowd. They have self service kiosks, one is outside and one is inside. They do cash only at the counter register. Drinks like coffee are served up quick. But you'll expect to wait at least 15-20 minutes for your breakfast burritos. There are a lot of delivery drivers here picking up orders, so the place is probably 2 or 3 times busier than it might look. The burrito is a nice soft golden color, among the most beautiful burritos I've seen. We ordered extra crispy potatoes but the didn't seem any crispier that ordinary ones. Didn't get that satisfying double fried potato crunch. Their salsa is award winning although it's not clear what the award was. They let you know up front that it's spicy. And it truly is! I don't think they have a mild version. Might want to get a cold drink to wash down the heat. One burrito was enough for two people trying to manage the size of their waistlines. Ample parking but you might have to park on a nearby street at peak times.

I lived in California 20+ years ago for about a year and used to come to Burbank almost every weekend to grab a burrito from here. 24 years later and I came back for an apt and here it is, smaller burritos but just as good as they were back then.

This place is seriously the size of a small cottage on a corner located in Burbank, haha. (CASH ONLY - at least when you order at the counter) Besides the apt naming, this place is a no frills spot that primarily serves takeout breakfast burritos during breakfast hours and for lunch, there's a menu of burgers, hot dogs, and sandwiches. I came here for a breakfast burrito. You can choose to have your salsa mixed into your burrito or have a cup or two on the side. And although there is some seating - counters, a few tables inside, and some tables outside in the back - it seams a lot of their business is takeout, especially when it's really busy. I ordered the breakfast burrito with ham. Like I mentioned, this place is no frills so I had an idea what to expect and they delivered. The flavors are more old school and that lots of the filling are cooked on a griddle with their potatoes a little lower on the crisp scale. It's a good size breakfast burrito and you definitely aren't hungry after finishing one. The salsa has a good kick without being too spicy. What truly amazing is the price. Of the many breakfast burrito offerings across the city, this feels like one of the better values. Also, know that this place can get really busy so wait times will be adjusted accordingly. It took about 25 mins for my burrito. I think there's a way to order on some app or online because it seemed like other people were picking up while I was sitting there waiting for my order. There's some lot parking and plenty of street parking nearby. Especially in the morning on a weekend, there seemed to be lots of parking available outside of their lot.

Just Okay - Not Worth the Hype Heard all the hype about Corner Cottage being the spot for breakfast burritos, so I had to try it. As a Hispanic guy who's had plenty of great burritos, I was honestly disappointed. I ordered the sausage, egg, potato, and cheese burrito with their famous hot sauce. The sauce was spicy, sure--but the burrito itself? Pretty average. Not bad, just not worth the long 20-30 minute wait. The staff was friendly and hardworking, and there's a good amount of parking, which is a plus. But if you're coming here because of social media, manage your expectations. It's not the "holy grail" people make it out to be.

The good: 1. Affordable burritos! $9 a burrito 2. Line is usually out the door 3. It's a community staple 4. Burritos themselves are pretty delicious for what you pay for 5. It's a unique American twist to the classic burrito. Scalloped potatoes (idk why everyone is complaining, I think the potatoes are delicious!) as well as American cheese (I'm a big fan of American cheese) 6. Their salsa is suuuper good The bad: 1. In the two times I've been here w my gf, we've had to wait 30-40 minutes for our 2 burritos. 2. Burritos don't really have any meat. Mostly just cheese and burritos. To be frank, I feel like the burrito maybe had 1 or 2 sausages total that were cut up and distributed. I understand that they're affordable and you can pay more for an all meat burrito ($16 though which is a pretty penny!) 3. Cash only (not really a bad thing but gonna put this out there as most people rely on card now and can be seen as an iconvenience) Overall, these folks work really hard. There is an insane amount of people who want these burritos and it takes a whole lot of manpower to feed the community like that. I might be back, but probably will need to order an hour ahead of time. I ordered 30 min ahead of time and still had to wait another 10 minutes on top.

I haven't been here in over 10 years and decided to have a breakfast burrito. They have changed owners. They added patio seating and a kiosk where you can actually pay with card. The salsa was on the bitter side. Maybe the chilies were not ripe? Afterwards, all of us who are the burritos had stomach issues. I don't think I will be going there again.

I ordered the bacon burrito online ahead of time on a Sunday around 11am. The wait was about an hour, and I received a text when my order was ready. The burrito was good, and the salsa was really tasty. The salsa is spicy but flavorful! I'd recommend getting the salsa on the side. They have a parking lot and outdoor seating. There is also street parking around the area.

great people great workers love the energy they're always working so hard! Only thing I knew people don't like is the wait but it's so worth it these burritos are awesome!

My husband and I were in the Burbank area visiting family and he was craving breakfast burritos. We are from NorCal so he wanted to make sure we eat good Mexican food and breakfast burritos while we were down in SoCal. He came across this spot from reading about how good it was on Reddit and so we decided to try it out. Luckily it was 10min away from our hotel! We get to the spot and parking was full. There is another parking lot on the other side that was empty. The place is located right at a corner of a busy intersection so you can't miss it. The place is also cash only. We went in and took our order and prices were very reasonable! The wait for our food took a while but the place was packed with people and busy so since it was our first time here, we stuck it out to see how good this place really was. We finally got our order and it definitely did not disappoint! Probably one of the best breakfast burritos that I've had! The burrito was packed with flavor and was so big that I only ate half and saved the other half for later. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area and craving breakfast burritos!

The food was good. The salsa was spicy so beware if you don't like alot of spice. We did order this online and it took about 1 hour to receive 2 burritos, even though the food was rating was good the wait was pretty long.

Came at noon on a Saturday. Parking lot was full but plenty of street parking. I got a bacon breakfast burrito and my partner got a steak breakfast burrito. We waited about 25 minutes after walking in and everyone was friendly. I have to say these should be called just a potato & egg burrito with tiny bits of meat. There was barely any bacon or steak in either burrito. Regardless, the bacon burrito was much better to the steak. Good flavor, just missing the protein of it all. They also charge .50 cents for a refill on a medium drink which is interesting. Honestly think we will stick to Lucky Boy in Pasadena for a breakfast burrito.

Ask the Community - Corner Cottage

Can you phone in your order?

Yes you can. you can order online now at order.cornercottage.com

What is the phone number I always call the number on yelp and google but they don't answer?

That number is correct sometimes when it's busy especially Friday/Saturday they take it off the hook. But during the week keep trying they'll eventually pick up

    Are they open on Saturday?

Yea at 7am and they stop serving breakfast burritos at 11am. Also you will wait a while on Saturdays.

Is corner cottage still open? I tried visiting a few times for breakfast and its been closed and the phone line is always busy?

Yes it's still open, they sometimes close on days around holidays. The phone is busy often from people calling in orders and usually on Friday or Saturday they take it off the hook since it's so busy.

Are there onions in the salsa?

What time do you guys stop making breakfast?

    11 am

Are the hours accurate? Been here twice and they're not open at 7am on Saturday.......

I've never been so I'm not very helpful but perhaps call later in the day and ask what their hours of operation are. Also I have to wonder if they have adjusted hours due to this whole Covid fiasco.

Does anyone if they are still open during this pandemic?

    Yes, take out only.

When's the best time to go so it's not busy?

    When they first open...

Can you order over the phone and then pick up?

Yes but not during breakfast times. They are too busy

What time do they stop selling breakfast?

They stop selling breakfast burritos at 11 am. You'd better get there before then, as the line is long and so is the wait. But, man, are they worth the wait. The homemade salsa is fantastic. Good luck and may your taste buds be delighted.

Anybody know what's in their salsa?

Home made very hot I usually ask for easy sauce some like it on the side I know that is very popular I hope I answered your question it has jalapeño probably onion and cilantro I am just guessing from the taste

Do they offer vegan breakfast options? It came up as a vegan friendly spot on yelp but I don't think that's accurate

To be honest I don't believe they do. I've never inquired about vegan options so I could be wrong!

As we arrived, I was the first to check in with the hostess. My stepdaughter arrived last, bringing her girlfriend along, which added an extra guest to our party. In every restaurant I've ever been to, I've always been able to squeeze in an extra person. However, when they learned it was my daughter's girlfriend, they were adamant that there was no way they could accommodate an extra guest, even if they wanted to. This created a crisis for us as a party of 11 with dinner reservations for 10, three valeted vehicles, and no flexibility on their part. I decided to give up my seat so my stepdaughter could have her girlfriend there, opting to eat elsewhere alone. My father-in-law, who had flown in from out of town for this special occasion, didn't want me to eat alone, so he insisted on joining me. Now, our party had reduced to nine people, including other extended family members who had flown in for this moment. Upon being seated at a different steakhouse and ordering my food, my wife texted me to inform me that our party had been seated at a table for 12. The rest of our party was extremely upset because this was never communicated to us beforehand. They had been unwaveringly stating that there was no possible way they could seat an 11th person, so we decided not to fight it out. Instead, we figured out other arrangements. Things happen, and we knew we had brought in a curveball. They said "no," and that's their right to do. It's unfortunate, but we accepted our fate. The entire experience at The Smokehouse was a complete disaster, and their management that night was utterly unsympathetic to our inability to communicate effectively. As a result, my stepdaughter's graduation night dinner was ruined, as she put it. Perhaps the table for 12 was simply a lucky draw in their rotation, or maybe they were trying to surprise and delight a party they had already dismissed as impossible, like we would have stuck around after that. Regardless, we were told "no," and we accepted that bringing an extra guest was too much to ask. We were left feeling defeated and searching for a plan B. As a Burbank resident who has frequented The Smokehouse numerous times, this trip represents my final one. The party I was attending was the last one they would be hosting, and it was a complete exercise in terrible customer service. Their staff set a negative impression that lesbian couples aren't welcome, which I had to work hard to diffuse. Fortunately, I discovered better options nearby. After leaving The Smokehouse, I had a wonderful dinner and made it back home to relax 90 minutes before the rest of my family's slow dinner service was finished. The moral of the story is this: if The Smokehouse says "there is no possible way," stick around and fight it out. Apparently, they'll accommodate after creating panic, disappointment, and defeat. Don't let them ruin your party.

That says a lot about the staff. Our server, she was a young lady, was on top of everything and really made our time here enjoyable. I came here for happy hour on a Tuesday was surprised to find out they do $2 tacos and $5 margaritas. Let me tell you, the tacos are delicious and the margaritas are STRONG. It's a hell of a good time. I really enjoyed the chicken taco and carne asada taco. The meats were juicy and very flavorful. I also ordered their nachos, chili cheese fries and bread pudding. The nachos were made perfectly with the chips being thin and crispy. They used a couple different cheeses and the jalapeños were a nice touch. Definitely ordering it again, I can do without the chili cheese fries. It was good but it wasn't amazing. Their bread pudding was HUGE and I can see why it's one of the popular items here. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft and gooey in the inside. Morrisons is definitely a fun place to be. Perfect to enjoy happy hour, catch the games on, and hang out friends. They have plenty of seating inside and outdoor with heat lamps. They are dog and kid friendly as well

The burger came loaded with a juicy grilled jalapeño, tomato, mushrooms, grilled pineapple, red onions etc, on a soft brioche bun. Everything worked together really well and the flavors were rich without being overwhelming. My buddy had the Baja Fish tacos and said they were delicious. My wife ordered the Corner Breakfast special with eggs, bacon, and French toast, and she really enjoyed it. My friend's wife got the Frittata served in a cast iron pan, and that also looked and tasted great from what I could tell. Portions were solid across the table, and everyone left satisfied. Prices felt fair for the quality of food you're getting.
