I had went through the drive through for a deluxe, butter burger, fries with cheese sauce, and onion rings, and the mash potatoes. THE CHEESE WAS COMPLETELY COLD -- never in my life had cheese that cold and the worker stated " it was ordered 15 mins ago" i'm sorry.. i've been eating culvers my whole life and not ONCE has this happened to me.. i had a situation where i had got my culvers and drove at least 40 mins and my food was still somewhat lukewarm--whatever this was .. was DISGUSTING. Curder Burger: Culver's originated in Sauk City, WI back in 1984. When I was a doughy kid in the 90's it had expanded slightly to nearby Wisconsin Dells, where I have fond memories of eating at while on vacation. Today, Culver's can be found in 26 states serving up their famous Butterburgers and custard. For you non-Cheeseheads, a cheese curd is a moist, squeaky, rubbery piece of curdled milk. That might not sound the most appetizing but trust me they're good. In my home state of WI, many people prefer their cheese curds deep fried, which brings us to the Curder Burger. The Curder Burger features a smash burger patty, crunchy pickles & raw onions, mayo, shredded lettuce, tomato, and a massive deep fried cheese curd patty all on a slightly toasted bun. Opening the container, my initial reactions were anger and disappointment as I thought I was mistakenly given a fried chicken sandwich. It turned out that it was just the massive curd and from a top-down perspective it eclipsed all the other toppings, including the beef patty. There's a line from Star Wars, something about Darth Vader being more machine than man. Well, this burger is more curd than beef. It was so enormous that at first, I had a hard time fitting the burger into my mouth. The cheese curd was crispy, flavorful, and perfectly oozy. We have been customers and fans Culvers since the beginning. we are full time RVers an whenever we get a chance to eat at a Culvers we jump at the opportunity. we have never been disappointed until last night. we are staying at a hotel next door and my wife went in to order our dinner after a long day of traveling. Our order was placed at 7:49 pm, the order was not received until 8:10 pm. while she was waiting, 8-10 orders who came in after her received their orders before she did, also my order was done sitting on the counter getting cold as she continued to wait for her order. Then counter clerk sent the ticket back to redo my wife's order, again my order was on the counter, no heat lamp. after about 5 minutes of waiting for her order she ask the counter clerk to please retire my order, which they did. On duty Manger came and asked my wife what the problem was and my wife explained, but the manager had no sense of taking care off the customer as did any of the employees. My wife was met with the attitude as to what's YOUR problem. I got the cheese curds.... Tasted like they came out of a brown paper bag from the freezer and just thrown into the fryer and fried for 3-4 minutes. Not good. I thought they were fresh. Came here looking for a quick meal as we were driving between La Crosse and Madison. At $6 the North Atlantic cod sandwich is a deal! There's a solid piece of cod in my sandwich, no fish pieces squeezed together to make you think you are eating a fish sandwich. One big piece of fish. I did burn my mouth on the first bite. The place was very cleaned. It was my first time coming to try the food I usually went to a Culver's to eat their custards. My fiancé and I tried our burgers and we liked them. The fries were hot and crispy we enjoyed our food. The only bad thing is that they don't have Coca-Cola so instead we got ourselves Dr Pepper and ice tea. Believe or not, this was my first time visiting a Culver's Restaurant. City of Chicago does not have a Culver's yet. As doing a "tourist thing" in Wisconsin Dells, we had stopped in Culver's for a quick bite to eat. Since I'm not familiar with the menu, it took me awhile to order. Plenty of options to choose from. What's nice about this fast food restaurant, you place your order and then find a table. The food runner will bring your food to you. Great customer service. The entrees were bought to us within a short time and all correct. I had ordered the chicken sandwich, fries and a strawberry shake. All were very good. No complaints at all. This is a nice Culver's with a good amount of seating. The person behind the counter that helped me asked if I was a mom... Strange questions I thought. Then I remembered it was Mother's Day. I guess all moms get a free scoop of frozen custard here on Mother's Day. I'm not a mother, so I declined the free scoop. However, I thought it was nice he asked in order to inform me of the deal! I was happy with my visit to Culver's. We were on our way to Minnesota for a friend's wedding and stopped here for lunch. We got a pork tenderloin, a burger, some fried cheese curds and a small sundae. The worst customer service. I noticed that whenever a minority purchases food, they ask to see ID. However when a Caucasian purchases food, ID is never asked. The fries are always overcooked, borderline burnt and hard. The buns are dry, ketchup dispenser is always out of ketchup, and tables are dirty. The staff there look so tired and over worked, no one smiles. We use to LOVE coming here, but not anymore. Just a big disappointment! We will never eat there again.
