First off, let me say that in this review I speak to the quality of the experience of eating at Curry King. The one time I ordered delivery the quality and portions just weren't the same. I have eaten at Curry King many times and the food is always delicious. They always have a wide array of dishes (vegetarian and non-vegetarian) available, freshly baked naan, delicious kebabs and samosas. Most recently I had chicken tandoori with naan and palak paneer, and it was absolutely delicious. For $9 I got a large portion of chicken and palak paneer, a freshly baked naan, and salad. You can't beat the prices, especially in NY. You can eat well (or eat 2 smaller meals) for less than $12. If you're looking for a nice sit-down place, Curry King is not the place; if you're looking for some of the best food in the city (in terms of both quality and value), I passionately recommend Curry King. read more

Was craving chicken 65 in the middle of the night and these guys didn't disappoint. I had it delivered through eatstreet and it arrived within 30 minutes. I ordered a small chicken 65, plain naan, and a mango lassi. The order also comes with a salad on the house. Dine-in experience only: Been here twice in the last 3 days. Food is delicious, moist, flavorful and easy on the stomach. There are always customers ordering take-out with the occasional few diners like ourselves. Open until 3 or 4am, this place is a great after-bar experience. The TV plays awesome bollywood music videos (if you're into that). The drink selection is scarce: coke, sprite, water, mango lassi and that's about it. My girl likes the Chicken Tikka Masala #3 plate which comes with rice and spinach. I enjoy the more adventurous meat like Goat or better yet, Goat foot. The brown rice works best for me because it's very flavorful and not dry. The curry for the goat involves a bit of cinnamon (not too much) and is slightly spicy. Mmmm Their butter naan is incredible but unnecessary because their plate dishes are so filling. Each plate comes with a little salad. Kind of silly honestly because it has no dressing, just a lime wedge and looks a bit dry. The dining area is small but after you order, take a seat because they'll bring the food out for you. Pay before you leave, cash works best but they do take cards. They do offer delivery but I'm not feeling so confident about it after reading that other Yelper's review... They also use a lot of oil (and low quality oil) in their foods, because my face breaks out in small bumps after I eat it. Just a heads up curry lovers.... I ate here to today (food was decent for a quick curry fix) but had an interesting financial transaction. I gave the woman my card and it was run. I was informed that the card machine was down and that I needed to complete the transaction in cash. I didn't have any cash on me and was told to enjoy my food then to find an ATM. I did as told and began eating my lunch (I'd give the chicken masala a 3 out of 5 stars). I must admit, I don't know for whom this business intends to cater. The logo and name recall a 50's fast food chain, and the ghetto-blaster clientele suggested I was on the right track. I was in the mood for some shitty Indian though. Why not? This area has become a haven for Indian trickery with Roti Roll and all of the taxi cab stops. When I entered, I was greeted by a Chinese man. Perhaps "greeted" is the wrong word, as he simply sat in one of the metal diner chairs and stared at me. I'll admit, it ended up that I stared at him more than the vice versa: upon his thin and hairless face, he had a large mole on his chin with five or six jet-black hairs dangling from it. I use the word "dangling" as they measured at a Guiness-record-challenging 6 or 7 inches long. Even as I ordered my food, I couldn't help playing out the scenario that brought this anomaly to fruition. Did he take pride in his mole hairs? Was it some sort of accident? Did he not know that his mole hairs had grown longer than the hairs on my head had ever measured? How did he shave his face while not accidentally shaving these hairs? I suppose my diverted attention may have affected my ability to order, but there wasn't much to choose between. There seems to be a kitchen, but the Indian woman who served me directed me to their pre-made buffet. She had already grabbed a Styrofoam box and had motioned for me to decide which entrees she should scoop onto my plate. I tried a bit of everything: curry chicken, lamb tikka masala, vindaloo, potatoes, rice, etc. It doesn't really matter. It was all rather gross. I could see it being excused as "homemade" but my Indian roommate's mother would beg to differ. I've become somewhat of an accidental connoisseur of homemade Indian food by proxy, you see. I love the food of the Indian subcontinent and have eaten a wide variety of traditional and Westernised dishes over the years. I'm sorry to say that my order from here (under the 'King of Naan' name on Uber Eats) was amongst the most disappointing Indian food experiences, and delivery experiences, I have ever had. Having waited 20 minutes after the promised delivery time, I called the restaurant only to be told the owner had already left and be promptly hung up on before I could ask if he had indeed left to deliver my order, or if he had just walked out in despair at the quality of the food. Half an hour after being hung up on, my food presently arrived. The inclusion of 2 warm cans of soda did not redeem the food for being basically cold, and the lahori chana being more grease and water than chickpea and spice. The bread was also cold and so greasy it stained my fingers. Both had an unpleasantly strong and unexpected fishy aftertaste. At least I ordered when a deal was on, but no deal could ever tempt me back. There are far better options readily available in this neighbourhood (both sit-down and street food to go). Where do I begin. This is the second time I come here after I vowed never to go back there on customer service alone. The woman is plain rude (bob haircut w a few highlights id I'm remembering correctly) I was craving Indian and went in and was NEVER acknowledged!! So now I ask her twice to be exact what Teo dishes were that didn't look familiar and she answered without even looking at me as if I were a bother. The LAST thing I asked her was about the mango lassi, I'm vegan so I wanted to make sure there wasn't milk in it. She loudly goes "what??? Yes milk yes milk yogurt!" I just looked at her as if she was crazy. By then I paid for my meal which brings me to the finale of this review. The food isn't even that great!!!!! You're better off going across the street to Doaba Deli. It's a small family owned Indian spot that cooks WONDERFUL. And you're treated 100% better for about the same price!!
