I chose to go to Dairy Queen specifically for their $5 lunch I had heard about. I made my decision from the online menu and had my order planned at the drive thru, but they refused to honor the deal without a coupon! No mention of a coupon on the online menu. I felt i got the bait & switch and was disappointed not to get the lunch i was planning. Furthermore, he gave me the kids meal without the ice cream at the drive thru because I was supposed to bring the coupon on the bag to the counter...I'm using the drive thru because I don't want to go inside! I enjoy dairy queen in general but this particular one was I ordered a raspberry fudge blizzard but what I got was a fudge less raspberry vanilla blizzard and vanilla was never used it has always been chocolate but here I am with no chocolate and a sour raspberry blizzard. read more

The employees were super nice, the bathroom was ok and the wait time was ok considering it was lunch time. I didnt like they didnt have the specials that i saw on tv. The $4 $5 and $6 deals that was the main reason i came. Other than thatt this dq was just ok. read more

I don't know where they buy them, or even if they make them back in the kitchen, but for years DQ has always been my go-to place for beef and chili burritos. They beat out anything I've bought from some swanky Tex-Mex restaurant. Plus, when I'm on a budget (Which isn't often) DQ is the place for filling and good cheap food. read more

Chicken basket is overly salted and falls flat in terms of crispiness. Burgers are on the bland side. Fries are usually soft. Side dressings like ranch and bbq are complimentary and I appreciate that. Good ice cream desserts. Good staff- attentive and friendly. Overall, just a dollar too pricy for the quality. Great service and product. I gave them 3 stars because they do not participate in the National chain's advertised promotions. For example - I saw a promotion on Dairyqueen.com, and went in to order it. I was told it'd be about $2.00 higher at *this* location, as they run their *own* website, mayfielddq.com. I don't know why, but this is hands down, the BEST Dairy Queen I've ever been to. I grew up down the road from one in Leon Valley, and have frequented quite a few on various road trips. I've been coming to this location for awhile but only through the drive-thru. Always hot food and cold drinks. Tonight I came in to sit down. The restaurant was clean and beautiful! It didn't look like your typical Dairy Queen. Tons of booth seating on both sides, the friendliest cashier (Andres) who was extremely helpful and accommodating, and the place was pretty packed! It felt like "the hangout" again like it was back in the day. Really enjoy this location and they have pretty great coupons. The best fast food burger I've ever had. Seriously, Whataburger, step down! Can't say anything but good things. I'm very pleased. read more

I never write reviews. But today i walked in and i was greeted twice which is always nice and sometimes shocking. I ordered my food and it was brought to me hot. Ordered the chicken strip basket. You need a minus star to rate this one! I went and ordered food to take home and all four family members got sick. I emailed DQ Headquarters and called the francise owner. All I got was the typical email generated response, no service. A waste of money and two days of diarrehea. I grew up in a small town and have eaten at DQ for over 30 years, have eaten at DQ's throughout Texas and even Oklahoma. But, people beware of the one on Burnet Rd., it is awful. The problem is the food tastes just like it's supposed to, but something about the preperation has gone wrong. Maybe a cook with no handwashing after toilet visits, food sitting out too long, wrong temperature, who knows. It is a shame that DQ would not refund my $23.00 meal after I have been a loyal customer for over 30 years. POOR BUSINESS ! These restaurants are individually owned, so not all will have this problem , but Burnet Rd. definitely has a problem. And now, due to the response that was inadequate, they have lost a family of four as customers forever. Not only that, but this family has a lot of friends that will hear about this poor food and customer service. If you want ice cream, try Culvers, if you want fast food typical of DQ, try one you are familiar with and STAY away from the DQ on Burnet RD., PLEASE for your stomachs sake ! read more

when i start to think of my hometown in the hill country, i get all nostalic for DQ. i was such a lucky girl to live right across the street from the only DQ in town. i should have weighed 300 lbs after graduating from high school. i kept that store in business for 10+ years. fast forward to the present and my favorite steak finger basket. never had an issue with the food here and they never screw up my order. i can still pick it up, take it home and burn my tongue on the gravy dripping from my texas toast. good times, good times. read more

We were helped by Philip 'The Blizzard King' this guy provided top notch Service not something you normally get at a fast food drive thru. He was very polite, funny, he made suggestions. I even called ahead and he was nicest over the phone. He made sure we were well taken care of the entire time. If everyone was a 'Philip' this world would be a better place. read more

The young man running the cash register today at 1:40p is hands down the most pleasant and joyful fast food cashier I've ever seen. I have not been to Dairy Queen since the day I tried their chicken strip basket for the first time, and the chicken strips had a very, VERY fishy taste to them. I guess they fried them (heated them up, whatever) on something that they'd just used for a fish filet sandwich that stinked. Yuck. After that experience, I decided only to return for their ice cream, but to be honest I haven't even returned for that. read more

I love love LOVE Dairy Queen! I only come to this location because I know my food is hot and fresh! I've been to the DQ in pflugerville. The service is horrible,the fries are steak fries and the burgers aren't even flame broiled. I was disgusted. I highly recommend going to the one on Burnet road. For fast food, this DQ is pretty good. But what I like most is it is clean inside, doesn't reek of fried food (I hate leaving a place smelling like french fries), and has pleasant employees. Do they seem super happy to be working there? Not really. But they are polite and competent. And today, when I went back up to the counter with my husband's mini Blizzard token from his meal deal, and my daughter's kid meal ice cream coupon, I said I also wanted to order another mini Blizzard for myself. After he made the two Blizzards, he handed them to me and said, "Don't worry about that one." quietly, motioning to the extra one I ordered. Thank you DQ guy! While I wouldn't say you should go out of your way to get the food here (other than ice cream desserts), if you are in the neighborhood - stop on by! I get the steak fingers the gravy is thick and the fries are crunchy. This location is very clean and service is good. read more

I frequent this DQ a lot since we moved into the neighborhood. My impression of DQ's for the longest time was that the quality was ok, the service was slow, and the place was dirty, but NOT HERE! All the employees are fantastic and super polite and friendly, the restaurant is very clean and updated, the service is usually pretty fast and the quality of the food is great. My kids and I prefer the Dairy Queen on Burnet Rd in Austin. I go out of my way to choose this Dairy Queen in particular. The food is always above and beyond and the people treat you like neighbors. Even with no entertainment for kids, the kids prefer this place over a place with a playground because it is just so much better! Carrie S. The cashier in the drive-thru was very nice and pleasant but.... .....my medium blizzard was only filled 2/3 of the way AND it was a mix of the Reese's peanut cups (what I wanted) and Butterfinger pieces/bits (not a fan of Butterfingers in blizzards). Asked for "extra stuff" so maybe this confused them with the stuff and pieces? Normally this location is pretty spot on but I was really craving a peanut butter cup blizzard and am now sadly eating this concoction. read more

I really would be happy if my order was right once in a while. I wanted a blizzard with chocolate ice cream and Butterfinger. I knew they'd forget the chocolate part. I made sure to say it twice. I even saw the guy put the order in correctly... but, to little surprise, the order came out wrong. I wasn't in the mood to wait for a new Blizzard to be made so I accepted it as was.
