The steaks were delicious and the sides of mushroom and Brussels maybe were as good as the beef. The view tied everything together. Thanks for making a special occasion for us. This is two stars taking into consideration the price point , which is outrageous . We went there for a special celebration and expected high prices. Talking $80 to almost $100 for a steak. prices have gone up. We have been coming here for special moments for at least 20 years so sort of knew we were in for it. The fried calamari used to be out of this world. Clearly frozen popcorn type. Tuna good. Drinks okay. One steak overdone (we should have sent it back) mashed seemed like it had been sitting out. Brussels sprouts overdone. Chicken dish I had for years overdone. Breast meat dried out. No tablecloth. tacky paper menu. Food came out too fast. not enough cream with coffee. 3.5 Stars: Good, but not great. FOOD: A really, really good steak! Not great, however. The outside was a little too seasoned for my liking, I like a simple steak, to which I dress that up Oscar style. The baked potato is noms, they bring you all sorts of sides to dress it up, which is a nice addition. SERVICE: The server comes around and shines a light on your steak to make sure your steak is cooked just the way you wanted it; that's a nice touch. AMBIANCE: Love the giant chandelier in this location; love the location on the water. Great view of downtown Bellevue! However, the restrooms are way out of date, and it's a bit disturbing when they don't update their restrooms. The prices they charge, they can definitely afford to update their space a bit. We came in august and sat outside on the patio to watch the Blue Angels perform in the sky. View is beautiful! Service was good. Our server was attentive, though he had some orders mixed up, he was very kind and connected with our table. Parking was hard, but maybe because it was a weekend AND bc of the show that day? Daniel's Broiler at Leschi Marina by all appearances is a romantic and classy place to dine. We went today for brunch at noon and had a half round both facing the water. Service was fairly prompt and helpful. Cons: I ordered the fillet Oscar Benedict and my husband had the Steak hash. For being almost $25 a plate, I was unimpressed. The Steak was way undercooked on one of my Benedict halves ...I was getting full so I didn't end up needing to eat it but still. The plate must've sat under a heat lamp for a bit because it came out luke warm. The hash was pretty bland. Pros: great atmosphere, the coffee service comes with half and half and fresh whipped cream MMMM. The meal includes these tiny muffin scone pastries with cream cheese... Also yum! Plenty of parking and they take reservations. Thankfully we had a coupon for buy one entree get one free otherwise this would be a 2 star review on the food for the price. We will likely go back with our other brunch coupon but will order things you can f depend on like the candied bacon pancakes (or was it waffles?). read more

We had an awesome waitress who was very accommodating with my friends shellfish and dairy allergies. Everything came out in timely manor and tasted great with a beautiful view. My Wife and I decided to try out Daniel's Broiler at Leschi this evening. The window seat was really nice as it had a great view of Lake Washington. We ordered a couple Old Fashioned drinks (supposedly a specialty of Daniel's). I was not impressed as it had way too much sweetener and a bunch of ice cubes. For an $18 drink I expected that it would at least have a nice chunk of ice, not a bunch of cubes. The bacon wrapped scallops and bread appetizers were delicious, highly recommended. For dinner my Wife had the King Salmon and Lobster mashed potatoes. The Salmon was terrific but the mashed potatoes were barely warm, almost as if they had been sitting out for awhile. I had the Daniel's filet and it was decent but far from the best I ever ate (Charlie's in Tampa Bay). The baked potato was mediocre as it was not very hot and burnt in one spot on the bottom. I would take a baked potato from Outback over this every day of the week. The Peach cake dessert was great. The lady serving us was nice but definitely not what I would expect for a high end restaurant. The table next to us had a server that did a much better job, we learned this was the original Daniel's Broiler spot from him lol. Just a note to anyone drawn in by their plant-based menu: We went to Daniel's Broiler in a mixed group of omnivores and vegetarians. Being vegan myself, I was excited to see that they offered a vegan menu, but the excitement ends there. Basically, all they seemed able to do was fry some tofu. The vegan dishes we ordered did not arrive as described on the menu. The Kimchi Fried Grains was bereft of any kimchi and was just a pile of emmer wheat berries doused in soy sauce--largely inedible, save for the fried tofu triangles. My husband ordered lumpia, but they were out of it, so instead they procured a plate of, yes, you guessed it, tofu triangles. The salads are way overpriced, as they arrive on the table as paltry offerings. The service was just OK. If people want to come here and pay $100 for a plate of animal flesh, maybe that's their thing. But, for any vegans/vegetarians out there, it's definitely not worth it. Anyone who has the culinary skills of a chef should be able to elaborate tasty and elegant plant-based dishes with ease. It should be child's play for them. Since, this establishment went to the trouble of offering a plant-based menu,I would expect that to be the case. Alas, I was disappointed. read more

I should probably point out that several of the lower ratings from customers were people who also gave McDonalds, Taco Bell, and Olive Garden a 5 star rating. Consider the sources of some of that nonsense. (not to say some of those places don't deserve a 5 star rating, I just know I've never experienced that.) Mostly this was an excellent meal. We ordered off of Grubhub using a gift card, so luckily price was not as much of an object as usual! Everything was packaged really nicely so it stayed fresh and hot via delivery. My bf and I shared the barbecue shrimp, king salmon entree, brussels sprouts, and cheesecake. The shrimp was my favorite dish. The sauce was SO savory and delicious, it tasted like the base was a really, nice dark roux just on the edge of being burnt! And then amazing spices and such added. I wish they served better bread with this dish, but I would literally sop up that sauce with a stale cracker. The salmon was also great and cooked very well, but not the level of that shrimp! The side of mashed potato was yummy, as was the light-yet-creamy and slightly lemony sauce over both. I expected more asparagus, or maybe a seasonal veg instead; it was meh. I really don't see that being a $58 entree, honestly. You can get a similar entree at Anthony's/Chinook's for almost $20 less... We found the sprouts to be quite good, pretty rich with some bacon. Nice pops of heat in chili peppers throughout. Finally, the cheesecake was nothing to write home about. Just average, but I did like the berries that came with it. Skip dessert if you go as there are much better options elsewhere. I'm not likely to return to Daniel's soon -- mostly because I don't have that kind of money, lol. This is our go to restaurant anytime of the week. Our friend Helen and us usually go here for Happy Hour because they love to drink and prices are a lot better. Since I don't really drink, I usually order lots of food items This place gets extremely packed, but is so worth the wait. Will the bartender knows us so well he has our drinks ready as soon as he sees us come in. Now that's Called top notch service. We've never had a bad time here. The piano player is fun to listen too when he's playing. Regular priced menu items can get pretty pricey. It'd been a while since I visited Daniels (any of the locations), but I always consider it a go-to for great food, great ambiance, and great service. I was at this location during Restaurant Week (a couple of weeks ago), and found the experience (food, service) a little disappointing. We checked in a few minutes before our reservation and undoubtedly the place was packed for Restaurant Week. I checked in to let the hostess know we'd arrived and acknowledge we were early. She never checked back with us again, and a few minutes after our reservation time, I reminded her again, and she was almost put out, and extremely rude with her response. The entire dinner took almost three hours. Not that I didn't enjoy the company of my friends, but given my dinner tasted as though it sat for a period of time under a heat lamp, we waited a very long time for our main course to come out. I ordered the roasted chicken with mash potatoes and broccoli (one broccoli floret). The chocolate dessert selection was described as molten lava chocolate, but instead I got a dried out chocolate dessert that resembled an overcooked brownie. So my overpriced $58 tab (automatic 20% service fee tacked on) was nothing more than fancy cafeteria food. At the very least, our server was super nice. Not the go-to it once was. Too bad. read more

The steak was perfectly cooked and delicious as well. Unfortunately, while the service had been overall fantastic, there was a glaring lack of attention by the servers. While we were asked if we were ready within a few minutes of sitting, when we told them we would like a minute, it took over 30 minutes for a server to help us (after we gestured towards them). Was in the mood for an upscale experience, so I went to Daniel's. I'm a fan ordinarily of Daniel's Broiler fine food and ambiance, but the experience this time was not matching my previous visits. I've had great experiences only at Bellevue Daniel's Broiler, and my party was all coming from Seattle. So, I picked this Leschi location. Regret. During our trip, everything but the waitress missed the mark. Her service was fantastic, but the actual experience and food were definitely over priced and lackluster. I'm not sure what went wrong - but the experience from walking in the door and being told of our meal timeline, to the food being a few marks below normal DB standards... I don't see myself coming back to this location. I'll give the Bellevue one a try again before choosing another place entirely, perhaps even paying way less for way better food, service, experience. etc. Examples: Food overdone, special requests ignored, immediate annoucement on exodus requirements. I thought there would be AC, and there was definitely no airflow happening in the restaurant. I understand I visited during one of the hottest Seattle streaks of temperature, but it does need to be said that if you expect it to be cool during hot weather, please go elsewhere. There are graceful ways to do fine dining, and then there's screwing it up. This was botched. I went here for my sister-in-law's birthday a few weeks ago. In a nutshell: expensive but on those rare occasions, worth it. - Food hands down, of course, was delicious. - The ambience was beautiful. I particularly loved the dimmed lights that allowed for a more intimate setting. We were seated right next to the water. -Our waiter was extremely engaging and helpful. I ordered the filet mignon and he made helpful suggestions on what add on's/sauces would go great with it. -High point: I escaped from my table to ask if they offered any complimentary dessert for the birthday girl. I couldn't find our waiter at that time and saw another lady (manager?). She stopped me right after I said, "We have a birthday girl tonight, do you guys.." She didn't let me finish but immediately smiled and joyfully said, "I'll take care of it." She said it in a very reassuring and polite way - not in a rude way. (see picture) Delightful experience. Great location and view but I wouldn't come back for the food because it wasn't worth the price. I recall coming to Daniels years ago for the steak and never thought much of it but would come back for the views and cocktails. Last night will probably be one of the last times because customer service starting with the hostess was terrible. She was abrupt and not at all welcoming. It got worse from there. Received the menu right away but water came about 10 mins in and we were ignored for 15 mins until we had to wave down a waiter who then told us he wasn't our server so we had to ASK him to get our server so we could finally order. When he finally did get to our table he didn't apologize for keeping us waiting and again was abrupt. I'm thinking it's because the gratuity was already included which unfortunately I find makes establishments and their employees think they can take your money without putting any effort to act decent. No matter how good the food is or isn't customer service should be priority. I'm not asking for royalty treatment asking for the service that is being paid for. read more

So where do I begin. So on Saturday, my girlfriend and I were celebrating our anniversary. We arrived at Daniels at 7:00 PM and when we pulled in to the parking lot the lot attendant suggested that we park on the other side of the building as that is where the free parking was located and that there was "plenty of parking space" available. I asked how much it would cost for us to park in his lot and he indicated $7.00. I should have totally stayed there but I though, the other parking lot is literally less than 300 feet away and I would save $7.00, (lesson learned). So, we parked on the other side. The parking lot was extremely dark, no lighting anywhere. There were signs in front of the stalls but due to the poorly lit area, we didn't even notice them. As the parking attendant stated, there was plenty of parking available but what he didn't mention is that there was parking assigned for Daniel's on one side and that the other side was parking by permit only. So, we parked in the spot nearest to the restaurant. After we were seated in the bar area, we placed our orders. We started off with calamari, and bread, King Salmon for her dinner entrée, and a medium rare 18 oz Bone in Ribeye for me. The couple next to us arrived 30-45 minutes after we did and they received their meal before us. When our meals arrived, the server asked me to cut in to my steak to see if it was cooked to my expectations. The steak was RARE literally less than 2-3 mm of each side was cooked. I asked the server to return the steak to the kitchen to cook it longer, closer to medium. By the time the server returned with my steak (10-15 min) my girlfriend was close to finishing her meal. I didn't want her to wait and let her food get cold. I took one bite into my steak and nearly choked on the bitter tasting charred, crusty, overcooked, rib-eye. Initially I didn't say anything but I did offer my girlfriend a bite, just to see if it was just me over reacting to the taste of the steak. Before she even finished her bite, she said, "this steak is burnt." We each only had one bite of the steak and could not eat anymore it was that bad. When the server came to check on us I informed him about the steak. He offered to have another Ribeye prepared for me but we had a 9:00 PM couple's massage/spa appointment so we were unable to wait for the steak. The server did offer and take the price of the steak off of our bill. If I am paying nearly $80 for a steak I am expecting to be satisfied with my meal. The server saw that we did not eat any of the steak beside the two small bites and said for us to "at least take it and "feed it to your dog." We informed the waiter that our dog of 11 years was put down just a few weeks ago - not his fault that he had no idea but it was like pouring salt in the wound . We were in a rush to get out of there as we were going to be late for our massages so I brought my payment up to the bar. I gave the waiter a $20 tip not realizing that Daniels also included a (20%) gratuity fee on my tab. The waiter never once mentioned the gratuity so he basically received a 50% tip for an extremely substandard meal. - I love Daniels but I will never go to this one again. Upon returning to the car we noticed a ticket on the windshield. The ticket was a $47.00 parking ticket. Apparently, we parked in front of a sign that stated that the parking was reserved permit holders, with how dark the parking lot was there was no way to read that sign. Overpriced & unprofessionally prepared food in quintessential pacific northwest surroundings. I was embarrassed for my daughter & son-in-law, who hosted me here for my birthday on 6/25/2022. Although the setting and our waitress were lovely, the food was a disappointment. I would have sent it back but didn't want to cause a scene for my hosts. My martini was very sweet after requesting that that it be srved with little or no simple syrup. The brussel sprouts were served untrimmed & tough. We trimmed the sprouts ourselves, but most remained on our plates uneaten. The nearly $100 filet mignon was severely charred & toughened on the outside. It's juices ran from the plate, spilling onto the table, my chair & pants, when the waitresses assistant (an older male) served me. Other than providing a rag to sop up the mess, no accommodation was offered after the mishap. The pandemic has hampered retaining skilled artisans but based on my previous experience at the Lake Union site, I wonder if quality of service is inconsistent with this company. read more

Our experience at this place was way below expected. We came in on a Sunday for lunch. The location seemed great, the view was fantastic and the arrangement of the restaurant is tops. The service however, was very slow for a not so busy time, well it took forever for us to get our drinks, only 2 of us got it at the same time and the third person who asked for a lemonade had to wait 10mins after us to get her drink. We got the cinnamon rolls they start you with, which for the record were delicious, until we had the last one and found a piece of blueberry muffins left over from another order (gross) complained right there and the waitress went on to get us a new basket. Our food also took some time to come to our table, which is expected one is not truly in a rush to eat and leave with such view of the lake. Anyways, while waiting I went to the bathroom only to find that someone had forgotten to flush and left in such rush that even the toilet cover was left behind along with...their digested brunch. Finally the food arrived. I had the Prime Ranchero steak and eggs, which was fantastic! My fiance had chicken fried steak and eggs, he said it was really good too, except the biscuit was hard and dried. My daughter had the Daniel's mini cheeseburgers and she did not like it at all, the bread and the meat did not blend together well and the fries were very salty. After we finished our food we were satisfied and we top it off by finding a chewed gum under the table . Needless to say, terrible experience and is so sad cause the food was soooo good. read more

I've been to the Daniel's Broiler on South Lake Union in Seattle and it was amazing. Why I wanted so badly to go again but we were close to Lake Washington so decided on Leschi. This Daniel's Broiler wasn't even close: The $73 steak was way over done and although I ordered medium/well this was well/well, nothing like what it should have been and it was a ribeye, which is supposed to almost melt in one's mouth. Cutting it was hard with a steak knife. The chef loved to charbroil a bit too much with the meat. The meatball app we ordered was tasty but also over done. The sauce saved it. The service was slow even to have someone take our drink order, the wait was over an hour for main course (thank god we ordered an app and salads and they had bread), waitress barely came back to the table, I should have had more bread and a drink much sooner than I did and I'm not talking 5 minutes here, I'm taking half an hour. Water service was good and that's how we got more bread. Steak and lobster tail had little flavor and both were way over done. Melted butter did little to add flavor to the lobster or to save it. Mashed potatoes and broccoli were ok but I've had better. Also shouldn't have sprinkle cheese on top of mashed potatoes, it's weird, cheap, and unexpected when cheese bits fall all over. Caesar salad was mediocre with too much cheese and ok flavor for the dressing. Dressing didn't taste fresh, felt like it came out of a bottle. This place had a ton of older people in it (I'm old) and it felt like that with their food and service. I would not recommend unless they get a new chef and some better service. Drinks weren't great, served weird, and glass was dirty/sticky on the outside. Felt like I needed to go wash my hands because of the way the glass was served. I give this place a D- Bill was almost $400 which makes sense for a place like this, but not with the food preparation, food quality, and service. Even cheesecake was gritty and never should be. Again, felt and looked like it came from a frozen box I could get at Costco. Also, niece ordered chicken fingers and they looked and tasted like frozen ones I buy at the store...they couldn't even make fresh ones. There's a pub near me that makes their own fresh ones. And on top of it they had an automatic tip which I don't care for. Makes sense that service was horrible if they knew they didn't have to try hard because tip is automatic. This place was sad and extremely disappointing. Go to South Lake Union or don't go. Btw, I have never left a review before and I consider myself a foodie. I've wanted to leave reviews several times and never took the time. I felt I needed to with this Leschi location of the Daniel's Broiler chain. Also, this is a neighborhood restaurant with its location and their reviews will reflect that loyalty. Not worth $170 for 2 entrees, corkage fee, and automatic 20% gratuity. I hate having to write this review as the food is ok but it just doesn't seem to be worth it for the money. This place has been a favorite for over 15 years. I think their somewhat recent 20% automatic gratuity is what made me think about whether or not this place is worth it. Was the steak good. yes, but not better than any other local steak place. Is the chicken good. Sure thing. but same answer as before. The service was fine. not bad, not special by any stretch but the guy got a $25+ tip for checking up on us once during our meal. The Leschi location has always been my favorite Daniel's location. It is quaint and cozier than the others, off the beaten track, and has a fantastic view of our NW scenery, similar to what the other locations have. I have always adored this spot, and have been sad that Covid has prevented my ability to frequent it for in-house dining. However, Daniel's has pivoted to the challenge of Covid and has been offering delightful takeout meals, at a really great value if I might say. I ordered two of the Thanksgiving meals (one with prime rib, and the other with turkey). While the mashed potatoes could have used more gravy (though, I lean towards heavy gravy consumption so this may be an unfair criticism), the rest of the meal was as satisfying as it can be taking a pre-prepared gourmet meal home for consumption. Daniel's is offering special meal packages for Christmas Eve also: $70 for adults, and $20 for children. I have pre-ordered for the entire family, and am excited to (1) not have to cook, and (2) getting spoiled by Daniel's catering. read more

This place is ok. We went there for a bday dinner and got the private room for the size of the party. Saw their was a champagne special but we weren't allowed to order it because we were in a private room but we were ordering the 2 entree minimum. I thought that was unfair that because of how large our party was we had to have the room upstairs and could not partake in the special. I mean we are spending at least $$$ why couldn't we partake in the anniversary s The lobster bisque came out cold has to ask them to reheat it. The Delmonico was just okay and it was overly salted. What was the kicker is that we knew there was an auto 20% service charge for every person not because of the size of the party just for ordering anything on the menu but on top of that they charge you tax on your service charge! I think that is horrible because you don't charge for labor just the goods. Not a fan and will not go back. I prefer Capital Grille or Melrose Grill. read more

We arrived around 830 with reservations and of course they were running behind. We got sat next to the window which was really nice minus it was dark outside. I am not sure if they were short handed or what but they took absolutely for ever just to greet us. Once they got our drinks took another 15 to take our order. We order the bacon scallops as a appetizer and for 18 bucks you only get three (really three) but they were good. We order the prime rib and crab stuff prawns. My steak was perfect and delicious and so was the prawns. What was lacking was the customer service and wait staff. Went last weekend thinking we would enjoy HH on the deck but they didn't have seating on the deck nor HH. We stayed anyway; enjoying the view. The food was not great; overpriced especially for what we got in terms of quality and quantity. The caesar salad was limp and overdressed and the quality of the steak bites were so-so...and overcooked. The fried artichoke hearts were very good and the service was nice. read more

A bit of a disappointment. Have family in town for the weekend. Given the wicked hot weather decided to take them for lunch to Daniels at Leschi on Lake Washington, thinking it would be cooler. First it seems either they don't have air conditioning, or it wasn't working. By 12:30 the inside temp was into the 80s and climbing. Also we found the interior a bit dated and starting to look a bit shabby. Plus there was a giant cob web hanging from the ceiling to the upper balcony. For a place that sells $90 crab dishes you'd expect sparkling. All the food we ordered was very good. The Ahi tuna appetizer melted in your mouth. One member of our party is on a plant based diet, which they do accommodate. Unfortunately they don't seem to print out a vegan menu, which wouldn't seem hard to do given the main menu was just on printer paper. We've enjoyed the Bellevue location several times before. Not in a rush to return to Leschi. read more

We were there on Sunday afternoon, July 18th, the waitress brought us some bread with mold!!! She only said, oh, sorry, I will bring some fresh one. When check out, they charge us 20% service charge without our permission! This is a place that I will never come back again!!!! read more

Im saddened to leave this comment, because ive always enjoyed Daniels broiler, I have been to both locations, more so Lake Union. We decided to go to the Leshi location yesterday by boat. We arrived and was quickly seated, party of 6. We ordered appetizers and cocktails, cocktails arrived then we ordered our entrees, the cocktails arrived in a timely fashion, about 20 min wait and then the appetizer arrived, then 50 minutes goes by and we ask for our dinner, Manager comes by and apologized , offers a free dessert, and they are" plating right now". 10 minutes later, we had to go, horrible horrible customer service last night. Im afraid to return to Leshi Daniels at this point. Maybe just for cocktails and appetizers, because the kitchen can't put out an entree! read more

This business charges a 20% "service charge" that the business then keeps. Seriously, if they're going to charge $24 for something that costs $20, they should just write "$24" on the menu rather than trying to swindle their customers. Never returning. read more
