    Du-par's Restaurant and Bakery

It had been a while since I last went to Du-par's! The last time was when the restaurant was still on Fremont Street, so stopping by the location inside Suncoast was amazing! This location is really easy to get to, which I appreciated! Since it's inside Suncoast, there's plenty of free parking, and you don't have to go to the parking at Downtown which was where the restaurant was originally located. It made the whole visit feel super easy! My family and I ended up stopping by as soon as the restaurant opened up! I decided to go with ordering the pancakes and the fried steak. The pancakes were easily the highlight for me. They were amazing, soft, and super flavorful! I can see why this is one of the go to spots in Las Vegas for pancakes! The fried steak was good too, but for me, the pancakes were the thing I'd come back for! I'm glad I ordered them because they definitely stole the show. The service was great as well! The team member assisting our table was friendly and followed up with us several times, refilling our drinks and asking if the food was good! I'm glad I finally made it back to Du-par's after all these years! The Suncoast location is convenient, parking is free, and if you're going for breakfast, I'd definitely say don't skip the pancakes!

Du-par's is a true Los Angeles institution. Originally opened in 1938 at the historic Farmers Market in Los Angeles, it became famous for its classic diner fare, especially its pies, pancakes, and old-school coffee shop atmosphere. While there are only a handful of locations remaining today, I'm glad one of them is located inside the Suncoast Casino. For the quality of food and reasonable prices, it's an excellent value. On this visit, I ordered the Tri-Tip Sandwich from the "Hot & Hearty" section of the menu. It featured tender sliced tri-tip served on brioche bread and came with mashed potatoes and brown gravy. It was pretty darn good--comfort food at its finest. We also ordered the Cobb Salad, which was excellent. It was loaded with chicken and bacon, had generous chunks of blue cheese, and included a decent amount of avocado. While I wouldn't have complained about a little more avocado, the salad was fresh, crisp, and crunchy with every bite. To drink, we ordered one cocktail and an iced tea. Before leaving, we couldn't resist taking home an entire Banana Cream Pie, one of the items Du-par's has been known for over the years. Our server, Ruby, was outstanding. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was taken care of throughout our meal. Including the cocktail, iced tea, whole banana cream pie, meal, tax, and tip, our total came to $78.88. Considering the quality of the food, generous portions, and excellent service, I felt it was money well spent. If you're looking for a classic diner experience with a bit of history behind it, Du-par's at the Suncoast is definitely worth a visit.

Did Esquire Magazine exaggerate by naming Du-par's pancakes as THE best in America? A couple of friends and I went to Sun Coast Casino to find out and they raved about the stack...as did I, since they couldn't finish theirs. Definitely a notch above most flapjacks, with its pillow-like softness and rich taste along with thick maple syrup. The 'hash and eggs' entree also sounded great, but it was too early to do breakfast in a pipe so I went with a 'build your own fluffy omelet' instead. Very filling with three eggs, bacon, and Swiss to go along with potatoes and English muffin. I also tried their French dip sandwich another day after some gambling and their version is top quality...thinly shaved slices of tri-tip roast on a warm ciabatta bread and a generous container of au jus to dip in. Be sure to ask for some cheese to slap on the sandwich. I'd like to share an irrefutable, time-tested proven fact here: if you're grabbing a bite to eat before hitting the Angel Park Golf Course across the street, a meal at Du-par's will guarantee you some Du-birdies. They've been in business since 1938 when the Fair Labor Act was passed, which awarded pancake flippers a wage of 25 cents/hour. Almost 90 years later, Du-pars is still at it and their other location was recently voted the best diner in all of California. It's a very clean, open 24 hour, casino restaurant with reasonable prices and free, plentiful parking.

I have a confession to make. I am an addict. I have been one for years but I have absolutely no desire to recover. This may seem shocking and even reckless but I can't stop...coming to Du Par's to have PANCAKES. These are not just ordinary pancakes my friend. More like manna dropped from heaven by the hand of God in a pancake wasteland of middling carbohydrates found in many breakfast chains and coffee shops. Their buttery, fluffy goodness cannot be denied. I had a bit of difficulty navigating the maze of remodeling going on at the Suncoast to locate Du Par's but it's in the same location. The path just looks different. It was late afternoon when I went in but breakfast for dinner is always a possibility at Du Par's. I saw you could add 1 pancake (which is more than enough unless you're starving and have a huge appetite) for $3.99 with the Sunrise combo . I asked if this was an option with the other breakfast items but was informed the cost would be $7.99. No bueno! As much as I wanted corned beef hash, I wasn't going to overpay and a short stack was overkill that meal so I settled for the Sunrise. It comes with eggs, hash browns, toast, and choice of bacon or pork/turkey sausage. Obviously I'd have to finish the pancake fresh so I knew I'd be taking leftovers back to the hotel. The pancake took a while because so many people were ordering them but it was worth the wait. My craving was satisfied along with my coffee until the next trip to Vegas. The rest of the breakfast was typical but good enough to make me happy. Service was acceptable but it's a bit disappointing when you have to flag down someone to bring you the water you requested when seated. When I approached the cashier to pay, I was stunned and seduced by what I saw. No, not the cashier, although she was cute. The register is located by the bakery goods and I heard a call that was a mermaid calling sailors to their doom. Boysenberry pie. I've missed the boysenberry festival at Knott's for a few years so I fell victim to its call. Sitting next to it was her sister the cappuccino cheesecake. I couldn't separate them in good conscience and I still had a few days in Vegas so I brought them home with me. My wife may be upset when I get home but there are things that are inevitable and need to be accepted. That's just how life is. I wouldn't be surprised if she's cheating on me right now with a King Donut. It wouldn't be the first time.

I stopped by Du-pars on Saturday night around 9pm looking for a late-night bite after watching a movie. We were in the mood for a sandwich and ended up ordering a patty melt and a French dip, both with fries. The sandwiches came out hot and fresh, and we also ordered some micheladas which were surprisingly very good. Everything tasted great. Our waitress was friendly and quick to take our order, although the food did take about 15-20 minutes to come out even though it wasn't very busy. The restaurant itself is beautiful with a modern diner vibe, plus classic photos on the walls showing what it looked like back in the day. Just a heads up, there's construction going on at Suncoast right now, so the restaurant is a little hidden, but it can be found right next to Taste of Asia. This place isn't anything fancy, but it definitely hit the spot for a late-night bite.

The country fried steak was disappointing because the beef was tough.

I have never felt so unwelcome walking into a restaurant. I believe the host's name was Shantel. She had a short bob haircut that reminded me of the neighbor from Married... with Children. Unfortunately, her attitude was nothing to smile about... l was one of the rudest hosts I've ever encountered. She never greeted us, never smiled, never said "hello," and never even told us to follow her. She just turned around and started walking without saying a word. We were left wondering, "Are we supposed to follow you?" That's not how you treat paying customers. The attitude only got worse. She repeatedly asked if I had ordered a hot cocoa after I had already told her multiple times that I didn't. It was like she wasn't listening at all. Instead of making us feel welcome, she made us feel like we were an inconvenience. The food itself was decent. The pancakes are still good, although they don't taste as good as they used to. The country fried steak was disappointing because the beef was tough. The biggest problem wasn't the food it was the service at the front door. The host is the first impression of the restaurant, and this first impression was terrible. Management should seriously coach their front-of-house staff on basic hospitality. A simple "Hi, welcome in," "Please follow me," and "Thank you" goes a long way. Until that changes, I can't recommend this place based on the service alone. To be fair, the two servers were amazing. The Female Asian waitress and the older gentleman were both very kind, attentive, and helpful. They were the only reason the experience was not completely ruined. The problem was not with them at all .. it was the host's attitude at the front.

I came here with my parents for a late lunch. We were seated pretty quickly as there was no crowd. The pastry display caught my eye when we first walked in - cinnamon rolls and danishes were huge, the pies and cheesecakes looked really yummy. Our waitress took our drink orders and gave us a few minutes to decide on what we wanted to eat. She came back with our drinks and took our order. The food came out really fast and the lady who brought our food was really friendly. The food was delicious and I really liked the ranch dressing that they gave to dip our fries in. The pictures on the wall were really nice to look at, especially the old photos. The only things that bugged me was that the mushrooms on my burger were canned mushrooms and our waitress kept coming by too often to ask us how everything was.

Opened in 1938 at Los Angeles original 3rd and Fairfax Farmers Market Du-par's can safely be called iconic, its nine seats since expanded to several locations including a 24-hour spot inside Las Vegas' Suncoast Hotel & Casino. The combination of James Dunn and Edward Parsons' last names, now owned by former server Francis Tario, it is under the Boyd Gaming label that guests at 9090 Alta Drive can expect familiar vinyl booths and classic diner staples. Recently renovated along with much of the local casino, a walk from parking past slots and tables all too familiar for many, peak times may find a brief wait during which patrons are tempted by freshly-baked goods including several Pies and a towering Cinnamon Roll liberally slathered in Frosting. Not to be mistaken with Las Vegas Boulevard, fair prices and leisurely service comparable to spots like Babystacks or Omelet House, Coffee and Water are kept full throughout while Food ranges from an exceptional Pot Pie beneath buttery Crust to a French Dip that is frankly overcooked and flavorless sans Jus. Best known for "World Famous" Pancakes, the original recipe still unchanged since opening, suffice it to say a "Vegas Stack" of three is the go-to as each is simultaneously thick yet light with intrinsic sweetness to the custard-like center - though zealots should plan to bring their own real Maple Syrup from home if possible.

Everytime we go here, it's a great experience. My auntie is a frequent member and when we visit Vegas, she always treats us to a meal here. They have the best pancakes I've ever had! The chicken pot pie was really good as well. The service was great! Our server Gary was really nice, quick and had a great attitude.

Du-par's , is where you go to satisfy your French toast and pancakes craving. Located on the casino floor of the Suncoast hotel, the renovations are definitely noteworthy. They offer endless pancakes for $9.99, if you really have a hearty appetite. On this visit we skipped the usual and tried different menu items. Everything we ordered hit the spot. This is definitely a great option if you're in the mood for comfort food, especially for breakfast. A majority of the menu is reasonably priced, offering large, filling portions. Popular items include the banana cream pie, chicken pot pie, and Reuben sandwich. The staff we came across were friendly, attentive, and professional. I definitely recommend if in the Summerlin area.

Breakfast food for dinner :) We've heard good things of Du-par's pancakes and boy did they not disappoint. No fancy stuff needed when simple is done to perfection. The pancake is light and fluffy with a buttery flavor. The texture! They must be lightly toasted in butter. And because it was dinner I paired them with an Irish Coffee. The restaurant offers a variety of seating options and has an upscale diner feel. Service was quick and offered with a smile. Access to the restaurant is through the casino floor. The only reason I didn't give it five stars.

Service was terrible. David seemed flustered and needed help. Restaurant was understaffed. The tuna melt wasn't that good. Tuna seemed old and sandwich was overcooked. Too much melt. Fries were cheap. Didn't eat them. Not returning anytime soon.

Visited Du-par's for the first time and it didn't disappoint!! We were greeted with a smile and led to our table right away. The waitress gave us wonderful recommendations. They are famously known for having the best pancakes and boy were they out of the world!!! The reviews did not lie!!! It is located off the strip and is mostly a locals spot!

Unfortunately, upon arrival, we were disappointed to find that the elevator was broken, as informed by the staff. We had two friends who required ADA accommodations: one in a wheelchair and the other who could not walk long distances. We were left with two options: a table in the front lobby, where everyone walks in, providing no privacy, or seating outside. It was 5 PM, and the temperature in Las Vegas was scorching over 100 degrees. Why would I choose to sit outside, especially with two guests who have mobility challenges? Moreover, the server informed us that there were no mist machines outside, which was an insult. The simple solution would have been to call or text us to inform us that the elevator was broken, especially since one of the servers mentioned that it had been broken for a few days. A simple call would have given us time to find another restaurant that could accommodate our needs. However, it was a Friday in Las Vegas, and making a last-minute reservation was challenging. We decided to stay and dine in the lobby near the butcher shop, where we were again seating in the open, lacking privacy. The manager did came over and comped two appetizers, which was appreciated, but it did not resolve the issue. A restaurant should be ADA accessible at all times, and if it is not, they should inform the guests especially if specific accommodation was mentioned in the memo of the reservation. One of our friends, who cannot walk far distances, had to struggle to go up the stairs to use the restroom, causing her muscles to cramp up and other issues. As a local and frequent visitor to this location, this experience has made me question whether we will return. It left my guest, who came to celebrate my birthday, feeling like they were an inconvenience and burden

To make matters worse, I was standing in line and ordered before a group ordered who came in after me and chose to eat on the patio. They received their food before I did. I then waited another 5 or more minutes before I finally received my meal. Good food is only part of the experience. Clear communication about menu upcharges, accurate orders, timely service, and a clean dining environment all matter. Unfortunately, this visit fell short in each of those areas. I hope the restaurant addresses these concerns because I really wanted to enjoy the experience after seeing it recommended on Nextdoor.

First time in Ada's (located where Esther's used to be) and we're so excited to go back! We went in…read moreat about 5pm on Friday and were seated right away (rare in the arts district) and noted the ambiance was relaxed and welcoming. Much better than Esther's in my opinion. All the staff was super friendly and our server proved really good service. We had wine by the glass and the whipped Brie, mushrooms, steak, and split the burger. Way too much food considering everything was fantastic! Luckily we boxed the steak and reheated perfectly the next day. Wine was fabulous, especially the Alberino. Looking forward to coming back and trying more on the menu!

This appears to be a popular spot for dinner. There is plenty of seating, but tables and chairs are…read moretoo close together and it felt so crammed. I shouldn't have to clearly hear conversations that are happening to the tables next to us. It was definitely a squeeze getting in and out of the tables without interrupting the table next to you. Our server recommended getting two plates per person. The menu isn't designed to have appetizers or entrees per se, so this menu seemed like it's kind of a tapas place or kind of not? If the plates aren't appetizers or entrees and they're more shareable, then why would we only get 3 pork ribs pieces instead of 4? The pork ribs had great flavor. it was crispy, tender, and fall off the bone at the same time, but it would've been better if they added one more pork rib bone instead of 3. The whipped brie with blackberry and honey was a bit disappointing. Even after mixing the whipped brie and with the blackberries, there were barely any fruit or honey flavor. All I tasted was salt. The brie was too salty with no taste of fruit or honey. Moreover, the brie came with 2 small pieces of toast, cut into 4 pieces. There was definitely more brie than toast, so we requested additional brioche toast. Of course we got charged extra for the toast. I just think the brie to toast ratio should be better. It seemed like the plate was 85% brie and 15% toast. How are we supposed to eat the rest of the brie when the toast provided is gone? I did not enjoy more brie over brioche ratio. We also got the burger and trout. Both shareable portions. The burger tasted like a slightly elevated Big Mac but saltier. Trout was good and cooked seared with a medium rare center. Flavor wise, the trout and pork ribs were my favorite. Also, the smokin petal cocktail was perfect. Overall, the experience here was just okay.

Frankie's Uptown is known as a Steelers gathering spot, and the atmosphere is exactly what you'd hope for: energetic, welcoming, and a great place to catch a game. I ordered the stromboli, and I'm convinced it turned my entire day around. I walked in hungry and left wondering if I should cancel my dinner plans for the rest of the week because nothing was going to top it. Our server was the perfect combination of sweet and sassy--quick with a smile, quick with a comeback, and she made our table of six feel like regulars. Great service can make a meal memorable, and she absolutely did. Speaking of our group... all six of us left happy, which may be the restaurant equivalent of witnessing a solar eclipse. Getting six people to agree on anything is a miracle, but Frankie's pulled it off. Whether you're there to cheer on the Steelers, enjoy a great meal, or just spend time with friends, Frankie's Uptown delivers on all three. Great food, great atmosphere, and a staff that makes you want to come back. Here we go... back to Frankie's!
