We have been going to Du-Par's for more than 20 years and it is always great. We don't go as often anymore because parking is a bear as is the traffic around there, but each time we go we say we can't wait to come back. They have pies for days. They have a great selection of pies and baked goods. Their strawberry pie is very popular. All their pastries are great and you can eat there or take home a whole pie or bag of muffins. The place is just so cute, clean and comfortable. It does get very crowded on the weekends so I would avoid those days. The wait is just too long for us. I don't think they take reservations. The service is great. They can take a bit of time when it is packed but once you have a server they are nice, fast and kind. We love their breakfast and I can eat any of their muffins, but my favorite thing there is the chicken pot pie. It is just perfect. It has the best crust. You will be happy with anything you get. It is part of Farmer's Market.

Used to go to Du-Par's fairly often with my Grandmother, Hadn't been to Du-Par's for nearly seventy years. Saw some posts online a while back about Du-Par's needing business, so I went to Du-Par's for lunch today. First thing I noticed is Du-Par's doesn't seem to need business. Every table was full and I had to wait around ten minutes for a table. The second thing I noticed was how noisy it was inside Du-Par's. I am probably used to restaurants in my neighborhood (Sawtelle) where even when every table is filled there is hardly ever any noise. Third thing I noticed was how long it took for the food to come, I ordered a hot turkey sandwich. It took over 30 minutes. It was almost like someone had to catch the turkey before they could make a hot turkey sandwich out of the turkey. When the sandwich came it was rather ordinary. By the time the sandwich came my only goal was to eat the sandwich as quickly as possible and get away from all the noise. I ended up with a headache from all the noise. Everyone working there was very nice. I felt sorry for them having to work in all that noise.

Dine al fresco too. But I loved the old school interior with the deep red vinyl booths.

The wait for food can make you impatient while sitting waiting for food to arrive, but the place was so busy on a Sunday morning around 11 am...so its understandable. The service however is excellent and apologetic...and their attention to detail is amazing. For instance our server, placed two spoons on the small bowl containing the packaged creamers...one facing me, one spoon facing my companion. Same goes for how he placed the coffee cup and tea cup, with the handles facing to the right. Except of course of you are left handed, but still....great attention to detail. The breakfasts are impressively good. I asked for crispy hash browns, and theywere. The scrambled eggs were perfectly hard scrambled. Just as I asked for. Exemplary service. You pay with credit card at reception...I paid and left. A server chased me with my sunglasses and cell phone as I was luckily still standing outside the rear door having also forgotten to get validation for parking. Thank you for going the extra mile in delivering my important personal items. All the servers should get a raise. Service 10/5. They represent the best part of Du-pars.

Wow what an amazing breakfast I had. All around best peach pancakes I had in a long time. Fluffy moist delicious sweet peach. The Blueberry also delicious. Line is long maybe had to wait about 30 minutes but worth the time to wait. Service was excellent. Come and try the pancakes

Du-Par's is such a LA classic. I've gone many times now to dine in and also just for carry out. Not to mention, they have a ton of baked goods you can order right from their stand within the Original Farmer's Market at the Grove. The thickest brownies you will ever see for $6.75 can be found here! Like I'm talking HUGE brownies like you've never seen before. It's so indulgent with chocolate frosting on top and at the price~ It doesn't even make sense, it's amazing. Even if you don't have time for a full dine-in, this bakery/togo section is money. Du-Par's is known for their pancakes and it's truth, their hot cakes are hot. Everything I've had at Du-Par's has always been great. Plus, they are always doing fun & trendy items, plus items themed for various holidays. Dodgers winning? They have TONS of goodies for that. Mother's Day this weekend? Yep, meals and even collectible cups can be had for the day of celebrating mamas. It's pretty wild how they have so many fun items for every cool day. Because Du-Par's is an institution in this city, it will always have a line. Even if kinda slowly, it does move as they seat & rotate tables out, so just buck up, buttercup. Always a great experience at Du-Par's and I'll be back many times over.

Du-par serves up decent food and it tastes even better when you eat with friends! I enjoyed my Bacon Avocado Omelette and Hash-browns. Condiments like ketchup and Tabasco are on the table. The farmer's market has a lot of restaurants and I was hangry after the 3K walk. The table ordered Fish and Chips & the Gluten Free Egg White Omelette. The French fries were tasty. There was a bit of a wait but it goes by fast when you chit chat with your besties!

I love Du-Par's and come here all the time! These new chocolate and pomegranate pancakes are some of the best I've ever eaten!! Truly, you have to get them! Amazing service always! Lovely place to stop by if you're visiting the Farmer's Market or the Grove.

Very disappointed that today was the 3rd time ordering from this place and i find something on my food. The first time a gray hair on a full stack of pancakes, second time a piece of plastic on my pot pje and today a black hair on my slice of pumpkin pie , im so disgusted. Cooks should wear hairnets or something to stop hair from going into food and its not the third party delivery because the bags are sealed all the time. This will sadly be my last time ordering from this place after many years but i cant let this happen again.

Came here on a Friday around 11. The line was a little long but not extremely. We waited around 45min for a party of 3. We were seated in a booth. I didn't expect it to look like a vintage diner but it was nice. Our serve was very attentive although it was very busy. They offer high chairs and boosters for kids. Kid friendly. I ordered the iced caramel cold brew with vanilla cold foam. It was okay. I also ordered their famous original pancakes, a side of eggs, sausage and their crab cake Benedict. I can see why this place is raved about. The pancakes were buttery, nice and fluffy. The eggs tasted fresh and so did the sausage. My husband ordered the crab cakes which he enjoyed. Overall, I do understand the hype about this place and think it's definitely worth it.

The glasses people!! So nice and refreshing

A MUST GO!! Delicious food, great service, kitchen feel and the historic 1930s atmosphere. I want to give you food pics but we ate everything! My favorite was the crab cake eggs Benedict. My nieces shared the Nutella pancakes and were very happy people. Their sausages are cooked in such a way they maximize the searing flavor and Woa boy does it deliver! Highly recommended and can't wait to go back.

We were at the Farmers Market & decided to try Du-Par's for breakfast. It has a homey atmosphere and quite a large menu. Setvice was friendly & fast. I had the poached salmon eggs benedict, which I really enjoyed. Usually when salmon benedicts are offered, it is smoked salmon. It was very filling. Hubby had the corned beef hash & eggs. He liked the crispness on the outside of the hash. We'll have to come by the next time we're in town to try the pancakes.

I've had my fair share of pancakes and these are the very best! They are world famous for a reason. If I lived closer I'd try to get a job here just to find out how they make them. I went on a Sunday morning after dropping my son and granddaughters off at the Anime Expo not too far away. I was surprised the wait wasn't too long. And since I was alone I thought they'd be less friendly but I was wrong. The host who seated me was very nice. My server was very attentive (even tho the place was packed)! I'm just so happy I finally got to eat at Du-Par's after watching Bosch a few years ago. It's a cool place and quite nostalgic. It's a busy area and don't forget to get your parking validated for 90 minutes free!

Since these are called the best pancakes in the USA I had to try. Didn't disappoint at all. Berry infused with more on top ... 3 cakes was more than plenty! Friendly service too. The milkshakes were to low light. Very thin and not much for the high prices charged here. Overall, it's not cheap to eat here but these cakes are good to try once in life. YOLO

Du-Par's Restaurant Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Du-Par's Restaurant

Is this restaurant still open for business or did it shut down?

It was open last time I was there, about a month ago

Can I order single slices of pie or pastries without dining in?

Yes, but watch out! Slices are about 1/3 smaller than they used to be. Was very surprised to discover that today. Waiter tried to be helpful. Not his fault. Same price for their otherwise excellent pie, but much smaller pieces.

Do the serve breakfast all day or is there a time lunch starts?

    Breakfast is served all day

    Does the location have parking?

Yes, just don't forget to get it validated at the register! Pancakes are Fantastic!

    Any gluten free options?

Du-Par's isn't a gluten free, organic, free range, type of place. The best menu item is the pancakes. Everything else is B- unless you order pie or the French toast. So unless you're in the mood for a coffee (that's gluten free, right?) with several…

    Is the patio dog friendly?

This is in the farmer's market and completely open! Everyone brings their dogs

Why were Studio City and Encino stores Closed?

I have no idea and I'm still very sad about that. The Studio City one is now a Sephoras. The one in Farmers Market, Third @ Fairfax, is still open.

Are there any mushrooms in the chicken pot pie or the beef stew? And yes, some restaurants do include them in these dishes 😝…

Hello Elle, I did not have the pleasure of eating dinner. I dined for breakfast. I wish you well.

Why does our bosenberry pie have a smokey flavor? almost like it was in a smoker.

I've never had the bosenberry pie, but sorry that he had that smokey taste.

    Best tasting pies?

Yes they are! You cannot go wrong with getting a pie from Du-Par's.

The food: Recommended *Kara Kara Tamales: braised oxtail with a peanut butter sauce. Wow! The taste was wonderful! Hard to explain but Filipino/African food meets Latin food. It was on the "shared plate" menu, which to me means it will be a lot. But the 2 tamales were not very big. Still, they were so rich that the 2 really were sufficient to share. Quite filling. I couldn't get enough of the sauce! *Crab fried rice: Very tasty and generous portion. Plenty share! Not recommended: The street eats menu. Now, this is what pulled us in - the sights and smells of the food being grilled outside the restaurant. Most of which was on this meme. Like a tasting menu. But for price to portion ratio, it simply isn't worth it. I ordered the skirt steak. 4 oz, cut in half. Cooked down to what looked like .5 oz! Each on a toothpick sitting in a paper plate (or maybe it was cupcake holder?) IDK. I just know it wasn't a good presentation and the taste wasn't memorable. Regular. More grill smell than taste. Not at all worth $8. Service: Really nice. And mostly good. Though they did fail short by (1) Using only small appetizer size plates and (2) Not bringing a fresh plate to eat the crab fried rice on after the peanut butter sauce laced tamale appetizer was eaten. The server brought the fried rice, but didn't bother to give us fresh plates (nor silverware). My son was mortified when I grabbed a plate from one of the empty tables! (Teenager energy on full effect). But after initial attentive service, the variety of different servers whizzing by didn't stop to ask if we needed anything. And I sat waiting at least 8 minutes staring at the rice. I assured my young man that the servers would be fine with me getting another plate to save them from having to. And once I did, he suddenly started eating from my plate of my peanut butter free fried rice. And of course, when a server did attend to us and I let her know, she was glad I took matters into my own hands instead of not eating for 15 minutes. Thoughts: Go for dinner, and order from the full dinner menu, skip the skimpy street eats menu. With reservations you can sit in the main restaurant area that has some view to the outdoors. Without it - back to the black room you go! Know that it will be expensive. And it will be original. Not sure I'll go back. It's very "special occasion" upscale dining. But If I do it'll be with reservations. The meal was memorable and worth experiencing.

My wife and I stopped here a few weekends back for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised with just how much I enjoyed the food. The ambiance here is pretty generic, white and bright and very copy and paste of a lot of places popping up recently. The staff was super friendly while taking our orders and dropping the food off, which is always appreciated. I ended up ordering the Santo's Turkey Melt which is smoked turkey, grilled onions, Swiss cheese, and chipotle aioli served on sourdough with a side of french fries. The sandwich was really good and the same can be said for the french fries and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of fries given, so thumbs up to that. I forgot what the food costs so I visited the website and for some reason they don't think it's important to put that online, which is pretty darn stupid if you ask me. Overall, I didn't have a bad experience at Sandcouch Cafe and I would visit again in the future thanks to it's convenient location. The food was solid and the staff was friendly, and that's really all I need when ordering a sandwich.

It's conveniently located to the LA Convention Center, Crytpo.com arena, and LA Live which makes it a must visit before or after an event! I am obsessed with their happy hour, which offers healthy items at discounted prices with generous portions! I have been here so many times throughout the years but most recently found myself here during a busy World Cup match! Regardless, the service and quality of food was not sacrificed! I was greeted as soon as I got there and the bartenders were overwhelmed but still friendly and helpful. I was so tempted to get a margarita, since theirs are amazing, but decided to keep it dry and just get their vegan nachos. I was able to score a table outside on their lovely patio, which felt secluded enough from the main street. My food was brought out quicker than I thought and I was delighted, as I was famished! The vegan nachos here are fantastic and the happy price is only $10, which is a steal for what you get! They are costed in the most magical concoction of a bean puree, cashew cheese sauce, and guacamole which all have the most creamy, luscious and savory flavors. It's so hearty and well seasoned and not only filling, but you feel great after. Parking is pretty easy, as there are usually ample meters available nearby. I cannot wait to return again soon the next time I'm in Downtown LA! I am hoping to try more of their vegan options and next time I will for sure get a drink to go along with their delicious food!

I ordered the Espresso Martini, and it tasted pretty watered down and lacked the bold coffee flavor I was hoping for. On the bright side, the food was definitely the highlight. Overall, I'd come back for the food, but I'd probably steer clear from cocktails and order a real drink. What truly elevated the experience was the service. The staff were attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making us feel genuinely welcomed throughout the meal. They were quick to offer recommendations and ensured everything was perfect without being intrusive. We ordered the tostaditas de atún agua chile negro, beet salad, carne asada taco and Al pastor taco and watched the World Cup game. Distrito Catorce combines exceptional food, a great atmosphere, and top-notch service. It's the kind of place that leaves you planning your next visit before you've even finished your meal. Definitely plan on coming back to watch more World Cup games.

To be honest, I was already biased because his Smorgasburg pop-ups were consistently good. But Distrito Catorce is different , it's like art. My favorite dish was the tacos de papa with salsa macha. The crunch of the potato taco riding into the salsa macha and crema felt like home, but with some extra pop. His salsa game is on point. The scallion salsa on the ribeye taco was also gas. Lastly, I really dug the tostadita de atún. It hit perfectly on these hot summer days. Low-key, I still want to try the El Rey de Noche. Tacos de beef trompo are starting to hit LA, and dude was ahead of the curve making picanha-brisket tacos de trompo. Service is smooth too. The servers are helpful, and solid at the bar. Overall, it's a cool spot with a menu that feels unique to LA.

After looking around the museum and enjoying the artwork, I went to Manuela, the restaurant inside the museum, on October 3, 2021, and again on October 9, 2021. One time, I went with just one close friend, and the other time, I went with a group of seven friends. On October 3, we made a reservation in advance and had brunch there. On October 9, we all went to the museum together, but since we hadn't made a reservation, we weren't able to eat there that day. I remember the atmosphere being really nice, and I remember that everything we ordered was delicious. All of the staff were also very friendly, and I remember the prices being quite reasonable. My friend and I, of course, split the bill evenly. Since it was five years ago, I obviously don't remember the exact prices in detail, but I do remember feeling that the food was reasonably priced. The only downside was the valet parking, which I remember being around $20. Other than the parking fee, I really liked the place overall and had a very good experience there.
