**August 2026: Sunday Afternoon Visit** My friend and I needed a spot with good Wi‑Fi to do some trip planning while we were in San Diego. He found Easy Does It, so we decided to check it out. The space felt like a college campus and library combined. It's really big, with lots of tables and chairs, but nothing felt cramped. There were cozy seating areas and even some couches, so it was easy to settle in for a while and was definitely the kind of place where people can chat, study, or work on their laptops. The vibe was perfect for what we needed, and the AC was blasting. There are two gender‑neutral bathrooms and plenty of parking, which was a nice bonus. I ordered the Matcha Cloud and swapped in oat milk. We found a spot to work at the back of the house. Honestly, this place is huge and a great spot to do work. For space and vibe, I'd give it 4 stars. My drink didn't taste memorable or like something I'd order again, but I think if I'm in the area I might be open to trying a different beverage. Overall, I'd give this place about 3.5 stars.
Wow! If you are pretty particular about your matcha like I am, I would say that this is the place to go to! This might be my new favorite place for matcha in San Diego. If you are familiar with the Orange County cafe scene, this place feels like it can be one of those coffee shops based off the interior design, good quality of food and drinks, merchandise, overall ambiance, and more. The food and drinks I got were really delicious! There are a lot of spaces to study in the cafe with ports to charge your electronics and Wi-Fi. The service is great as well. If you are looking for something else to do after visiting the cafe, there is FotoOp, a cute photo-booth experience with a lot of different backgrounds!
Hugeee fan of easy does it- not only for the drinks, but just the vibes inside and community! Plenty of tables and natural lighting, it's the perfect place to study, work, or catch up with a friend. All the workers are really nice and helpful. They serve coffees, matchas, hojichas, and even wines! The hojicha was perfectly brewed and not too sweet. Will definitely be back here again!
A spacious, study cafe with plenty of seating and some wall outlets. Came on a Friday morning, and it's generally pretty quiet because everyone is on their laptops working on something. A lot of solo workers! I visited with a friend just to chat, and while there's music playing in the background, I'm sure people could hear us chat lol. The seating in the back of the store opens at 10am BTW; when I got here at 10am, 99% of the seating in the main room was full. I ordered the Matcha Earl Grey ($6.50), and it was OK. I got it half sweetened (the earl grey was just part of the sweetener) and less ice. I could taste the lingering matcha, but not the earl grey. Overall it was a bit watery. The workers are kind, and the cafe itself is very clean. Lowkey kind of dark with lots of window light. Free wifi with password info next to the cashier. I'd come again to work, seems like you can stay here a long time unlike other cafes. I wouldn't suggest coming here to catch up with a friend---unless you're quiet. :)
It is a TRAVESTY... that I haven't yet written about the coffee shop I've dedicated my life to over the past year, because... well, like I said, you will always find me here! OVERVIEW Come for the equally balanced, delicious coffee AND matcha drinks; the spacious work setting; the side entertainment (like a free bookshelf + camp chairs outside), and incredible ownership. Be prepared for hard parking during peak hours (lunchtime) and possible lack of seats (especially during schooltime). DRINKS It is RARE to find a shop whose matcha is on par with its coffee; normally, one is better than the other. Easy Does It, or EDI as we affectionately call it, is pro at BOTH. With coffee served from Provecho, matcha from Nami and hojicha from Paru??? You just hit a trifecta of GOOD good. Our Typical Order: 1) Iced Earl Grey Latte - omg, I LOVE the earthiness that the earl grey syrup brings to the matcha. Matcha, to me, is either too grassy or too sweet; the earl grey syrup makes it a perfectly earthy balance. 2) Honey Cinnamon Latte - how good could a standard coffee shop latte be, you ask? They have the HCL at almost every shop, and it's not usually standout. EDI, again, blew expectations wide open. Their HCL is balanced: sweet without being saccharine; and you can actually taste the cinnamon. 3) Hojicha Latte, Hot - omg, there was a time when I ordered almost one of these A DAY. Again, another sleeper - if you like the taste of coffee but can't take the caffeine (for a late night drink, perhaps), a hojicha is a good choice. It has that grounded taste that coffee gives, and the hot version of it is like a HUG for your mouth and stomach. They also have cool inventive flavors like the Matcha Cloud, the Coconut Cream Cloud (which is a coffee cloud on top of coconut water, I hear it's refreshing), so you'll never get tired of the drinks they have here. I also want to mention that they do serve wine and beer, too... so there's something for everyone! FOOD Spend any time in a coffee shop and know... you're gonna get hungry! Thankfully, EDI has open-faced bagel sandwiches AND pastries here, all of which look mighty tasty; all of which I cannot partake in, since I am gluten free. But ohhh, gluten warriors unite! Thanks to the partnership that is Jacob of Made for Mei Mei Mochi (aka the protein mochi) and Easy Does It, you'll have your PICK of 5 different flavors of homemade, chewy, ooey, DELICIOUS MOCHI -- SANS added sugars and preservatives you normally find in the store. I'm telling you, I don't normally like mochi (it tends to be so sweet) but I love the texture. And Made for Mei Mei hits it all! Flavors include: 1) chocolate hazelnut -- which tastes like Ferrer Rocher, yum 2) ube 3) green tea / red bean 4) black sesame 5) pb&j (yes, he's stocked peanut butter & jelly, a fan-demanded flavor) My favorites are #1 and #4; sometimes I go for #2 and #5 to mix it up. Either way, I spend WAY too much on these tiny li'l treats I might as well become an early investor. AMBIENCE This place is perfect for computer work as light doesn't directly fill the whole space. I like a li'l shade when I'm staring at a bright computer screen. There are two rooms: front and back; the back is a li'l darker and more chill vibes than the front. I also appreciate that they have a free bookshelf (just replenish it with your own!), plus a few magazines scattered around (for decoration, but I still browse). I miss when coffee shops had analog media, especially for when we don't want to be glued to our screens. EXTRA CREDIT Easy Does It also offers their shop as space for community events. From mahjong with No Ambition Tile Club to wine and jazz nights IN SUM THANK YOU Easy Does It ~ Grace, Nancy, the sister I haven't met, Eugenia, and the entire team ~ for creating a lovely third space where I can work, enjoy my snacks / drinks, meet friends and co-work, and have a great conversation. Was in the area and was craving a bagel. Thank goodness I stumbled upon this place because everything was yummy. The staff was attentive and knowledgable. Never had tonic matcha before. I got the matcha with passionfruit tonic. I've never had this before, but I'm glad I tried it. I got the smoky catch bagel and mushroom and got cheese empenada. Both were filling and flavorful. Would I come here again? Yes.
This was one of the first cafes in San Diego that was giving a similar aesthetic to cafes in LA/OC. For that reason, I had pretty high expectations. However, I was pretty disappointed. I tried their matcha cloud, and the matcha was strong but it was grainy and had a low quality taste. The cloud is pretty good though. I just wish they used a higher quality matcha. The cup is also pretty small for how pricey it is. They have ample seating inside, but it is usually packed so it could be hard to find a table if you are trying to study for a long time here. They do have free wifi though!

I don't usually get matcha but I was super curious to try this place and it was so good!!! Matcha is creamy, nutty, and slightly sweet and the cold foam made it taste like a little dessert! Truly the perfect matcha for me. The inside is also huge and they also have a giant back room with more seating. It's a great place to study, get work done, or go with a group.
I have very mixed feelings about easy does it!! When they first opened, their matcha cloud was rich & creamy but the last few times, the quality and taste have degraded. I'm not sure if they switched vendors but it's not as good or strong as I remembered...it now just tastes like flavored milk RIP. They also have seating in the front & back room but it's ALWAYS crowded. So unless you come early or near closing, it's not the most work-friendly spot. I don't really go here unless I want to do some work & am willing to take my chances with tables and their drinks. Otherwise, cool interior, chill vibes, and they often host pop-ups or mahjong nights here!
Yes, I recommend this cafe! I especially enjoy their iced matcha cloud oat latte and empanadas. The staff are friendly and super quick with the drinks and food! This place is larger than an avg cafe. There are plenty of seating in the front and back. And plenty of parking too. The cafe has a bookshelf filled with some pretty good books to read, wine bottles and matcha powders, etc. I can't name every single thing, you'll just have to check the cafe out for yourself!
My boyfriend and I wanted a quick bite to eat before heading to the Safari Park. Parking was easy since it's located in a plaza. We stopped by at around 8:20am today and there were only a few people in line. Service was welcoming and kind! They had an assortment of baked goods + empanadas as well as a great matcha/coffee menu. There's lots of seating for anyone who wants to hangout with friends or study. So awesome to see that they serve Nami (aashleyk's matcha brand). I ordered a chicken empanada, pan de elote, & an iced matcha cloud (less sweet & oat milk). Everything was absolutely DELISH. I'm pretty picky about my matcha, especially when it's in an Einspanner form. I loved the contrast between the sweet/salty cloud and the matcha itself! This place has their ratios down perfectly. Can't wait to come back (probably tomorrow)! 11/10.

I came on an early morning and it was not busy at all so I can not speak to how it may get later in the day or on the weekends I got the cloud matcha and a monkey bread that looked very yummy in their pastry case, the matcha was very good and I really liked that it wasn't overly sweet and I could taste the integrity of the matcha. I really want to come back and try their hojicha latte and I like the different seating options they have inside as well! read more

Established by a group of friends, Easy Does It is a minimalist decorated style cafe with tons of indoor seating. It does seem like a spot people come visit to get some studying / work done as they do offer wifi and I saw several laptops here. I came by on a Monday morning for breakfast and there was no line, wait for my items was minimal, service was polite, and about 1/3 the tables were filled. Vanilla Chai drop scone 2.5/5, got this because it was supposed to be less sweet than the monkey bread but the chai icing was super sweet. The scone was soft inside and harder outside and I was unable to finish because of just how sweet this was, would definitely prefer a less sweet pastry in the future Matcha cloud w Almond milk 3.5/5, not bad but I do wish there was more matcha compared to milk ratio wise and that giant ice cubes weren't used which limited the sheer amount of actual drink present read more
Found out about Easy Does It on Tiktok! They are new and in their soft launch era. The space was huge which made it accessible for people to stay and do work or homework. We got three different drinks: matcha passionfruit tonic, hojicha cloud, and matcha latte. The tonic was very interesting, never had a matcha + tonic before. I don't know if I can say I'm a big fan. You taste more of the tonic and passionfruit than the matcha in the drink. The hojicha cloud, however, was a crowd favorite. It was tasty and rich in flavor. The matcha latte was okay in my opinion. You can taste the clumps and it had a bitter aftertaste as well. Overall, really glad we got to check it out! Loved the smiskis all around the cafe haha read more
Wanted to visit this spot after hearing the rave reviews of their matcha. The inside was packed, but there were plenty of seats to sit at. A lot of people do stay here and study. Super cute cafe in Kearny Mesa -- I spent my entire weekend in Pacific Beach, so coming here was a great change of pace. I'm a long time fan of Urmomashley (YT/IG) and I've never seen her matcha products set up in person so when I heard they were using her new Kana matcha we had to go. Lots of college students here there's definitely a cool vibe - servers were very kind and super efficient :) Only thing is that we went mid-day on a Sunday, and there was extremely limited parking. There are lots of business located in the same complex that are mostly food and services, so they were pretty packed as well. We ended up parking on the back street behind the store and walked through a side alley to reach the cafe. Matcha was rich, flavorful, and had a great ratio of matcha to milk -- we enjoyed our drinks on the camping chairs they have setup right outside of the cafe. read more
Solid spot. The vanilla cold foam is among one of the best I've had, but the matcha quality was just okay unfortunately. I would stop by if I was around the area but wouldn't go out of my way to come here. I should add I'm a matcha connoisseur so I am extremely picky about it. I love how spacious it is though. I've been to a lot of coffee spots around San Diego, and Easy Does It is easily my favorite right now. The bean selection here is top notch. You can tell they actually care about sourcing and rotating interesting coffees, not just the usual lineup. Every visit feels like there's something new to try, and the quality in the cup backs it up. The space is massive too, way bigger than most restaurants in the area. I was really excited to try this matcha spot because I saw they use Nami Matcha. I've been curious about it for a while, especially since the tins are pretty expensive, so I had high expectations. Unfortunately, I left disappointed. The matcha tasted very watery and flavorless. It lacked the depth, richness, and complexity that I was expecting, and there wasn't anything particularly memorable or special about it. I ordered the Earl Grey Matcha, but it honestly didn't taste like Earl Grey at all. It tasted like a plain matcha, to the point where I had to double-check the label sticker to make sure I received the correct drink. I was expecting some noticeable bergamot or tea flavor, but there was none. It felt like I paid extra for a flavor that wasn't there. Also, it was almost all ice and no matcha. I took a few sips and it was all gone. My boyfriend ordered the hojicha, and while it wasn't bad, it didn't stand out either. It tasted like a standard hojicha latte that you could get at many other places. I was excited to finally try Nami's matcha in a drink before committing to buying a tin myself, but the drinks fell flat and didn't live up to the hype. read more
Today was our second visit to try more matcha drinks! The vibe is chill and laid back, plenty of seatings and there were lots of people studying. We enjoyed their drinks both visit and we can't wait to come back and try more! The pastries were also yummy, we liked that they weren't overly sweet. The service is quick, even on busy weekends they pump out the drinks pretty quick. One of the cashier took our order for egg tart not knowing it was out of stock, but they were super sweet and had us just pick any other pastries we wanted in place of it. read more

[August 2025] Reminds me very much of LA cafes with its drink menu and aesthetics with minimalist decor. Their highlights are either the matcha or hojicha lattes. I got the matcha cloud latte. I liked the drink a lot as it was very matcha forward and not too sweet where most of the sweetness was coming from the foam cap which was balanced with the saltiness. Overall, I really like this drink and the vibes. Tons of parking available and seemed to be good for WFH with good number of seats and benches. Definitely a welcomed staple to SD read more
Great cozy but minimalistic coffee shop that just opened right off the exit of the Clairemont Mesa Blvd. Currently it is their soft opening. They were ready to serve everything off of the menu so far when I came. My choice was a matcha cloud latte. It comes with sea salt foam on top and there was only one size. It was more on the bitter side, however, they provide simple syrup on the side to adjust to your liking which I appreciate. The matcha taste didn't have too much of a nutty taste, it was more floral tasting from what I can remember! Cute stickers were free to snatch and there was limited seating with a big table near the register, a couch, and a few extra small ones. It is rather spacious and I could see the cafe already having crowds during peak hours! A cute and minimal matcha spot nestled in a plaza in Kearny Mesa! I ordered my drink and got my free froggy sticker at the register. I came by on an afternoon weekday and lots of people were in the shop hanging out or studying. They have a large space, but not as many seats as you would expect. Their menu is just as simple as their decor, they have basic espresso drinks and specialty drinks with matcha, hojicha, and tonics. I tried a matcha with oat milk, and I will say it is high quality and soo much better than other basic coffee shops. I do see that they whisk the matcha powder and measure out the simple syrup, which is a step up from other shops since other shops might not use actual matcha powder. It does have a typical grassy matcha taste and doesn't come super sweet. They do have additional simple syrup on the counter so you can adjust the sweetness to your liking. My friend got a cloud (salted cream cap), which looks very rich and would add additional creaminess to the drink. Overall, this is a great spot for matcha, I'll be sure to stop by whenever I'm in the area! read more

Very good coffee and menu variety. The place is pretty busy and there's always a line despite it being still newly opened. Lots of study space but due to how popular it is you may have to hunt for a open spot. Good service and clean! We tried their regular latte and coconut cloud which were both delicious and flavorful! Easy Does It definitely gave me the matcha pick me up that I needed! Plenty of parking, indoor seating, and cozy vibes. They also offer small business products for sale. I ordered the iced matcha latte with almond milk, and the consistency and taste was a bit earthy but enjoyable. read more
I stopped in here for a coffee and a snack. I decided on a cortado and the ham and cheese croissant for $6.00. If I remember correctly, the cortado was $4.75. The cortado came served in a proper gibraltar glass, which was good. They use Provecho coffee roast, and local roaster, which is nice to see. The cortado was good upfront but had a sour after taste, that I did not much care for. When I was asked how I liked tgw cortado, I mention the sourness, and was essentially told that you either get sour or bitter when you order a cortado. I wholeheartedly disagree with that comment. I've had literally hundreds upon hundreds of cortado in San Diego from different coffeeshops and roasters, and bitterness nor sourness was in question. They have been smooth and rich from start to finish with with a nice nutiness and overtones of dark chocolate. I think their cortado can be improved. Make sure the espresso machine is cleaned out daily. Also, they need to set up, as soon as possible, the heating element they plan to use to heat up the baked goods and pastries. The ham and cheese croissant was a little rough eating cold. Three service was good. They gentlemen who took my order was friendly and helpful. This quickly became our regular spot to sit down and get some work done for a few hours to break up the weekday. The owners are wonderful and so kind - they frequently check in with customers to ask for feedback and walk around to help people find seating since it's incredibly packed most times. The ambiance is a clean, modern and bustling with folks working or having coffee meetups and their new food selection is great! We tried their new tomato bagel and one order with two halves topped with cream cheese, heirloom tomatoes, dill, and lemon/black pepper was enough for my whole lunch. I came here around 10:30a on August 2nd Saturday with a friend. It wasn't too busy, maybe 2-3 parties ahead of us. The location is airy yet cozy with industrial minimalist vibes. I liked how there was plenty of space between tables and furniture so it didn't feel crowded. My matcha cloud was delicious, and for $7 with the salted cream cap, a good deal. My friend really enjoyed his yuzu espresso tonic, he's a bit particular since some places skip on the yuzu and yuzu flavor. If there's no line, would definitely stop by again! read more

Been meaning to try this place, though I was a bit skeptic too considering how hyped it is. Glad we went anyway because their einspanners are delicious! A new place to add to my matcha rotation for sure. The matcha is freshly whisked and the creme was not too sweet. The hojicha one was also good! Definitely try it if you want something with more roasted notes. I also want to highlight the corn tart which was very tasty and it was similar to the one I recently tried in Seoul. Although kind of steep for $7- it was as expensive as the drinks. Huge space with plenty of seating, can get busy but we didn't wait for long. Price point of drinks isn't bad! read more
Wow this place is packed every time I come to this plaza.. it's a big coffee shop, lots of tables available.. love the little lamps they have on the tables and I can get work done as long as I have my AirPods lol internet works great. Stopped by during their soft opening and this place was packed. Good for them! We were here around 10 on a Saturday. Line moved quickly and we didn't have to wait long for our drinks either. We got the yuzu espresso tonic and a latte with lactose free milk. I love that they have this option for us lactose intolerant people. Save me some lactaid. The yuzu espresso tonic was my favorite. It was super refreshing and the yuzu was a nice touch. I finished the drink so fast, I could have probably had a couple more. The latte was also very smooth. Lots of seating. Happy they have a parking lot but I imagine it could be hard to find parking during lunch. Got to come back to try some of their other drinks. read more
Came by on a pretty quiet Sunday morning and was pleasantly surprised at the already bustling shop. The cafe is very spacious with plenty of tables and seats to work at. As soon as I ordered my drink and sat down for a couple of minutes, a line started to form and reached past the door. Could definitely see why, as my drink was very good with a nice depth of matcha flavors (Ordered a Matcha Cloud with Oat Milk). Will definitely be coming back, maybe with a book or laptop to get some work done next time. A cute spacious coffee shop, and I can't wait to see how they'll grow! I love the origin behind the store and the friends who came together to open it. I came during the soft opening and ordered a matcha cloud. It definitely could have had a stronger matcha flavor, and I wished the sweetener was mixed in more, as the bottom of my drink was sweet enough, but the top was not. However these things are understandable since they're still in the soft opening phase and were training their employees. I would definitely come back again in a little bit to see how their drinks improve! I actually stopped by on a Sunday morning, but the line was so long (around 20 people), and I had to leave since I was short on time. Amazing to find a place in SD with hojicha! I love hojicha (more than matcha) and sometimes it can be hard to find cafes that have hojicha drinks. I got a hojicha cloud with less of the cloud cream foam and it was great and I could still taste the hojicha flavor which is what I was worried about. I also liked that it wasn't too sweet. My friend got the yuzu espresso tonic and she loved it! I tried and it was very refreshing and delicious. I liked that the drinks were hand whisked. I was concerned that it would take a while for my drink to be prepared but it came out quicker than expected even though the cafe was pretty busy. Overall, I loved this cafe. The drinks were very good and service was quick. All of the drinks on the menu looked awesome and I definitely want to come back to try them all soon! read more

ABSOLUTELY love the minimalist culture and decor here. The menu is simple; and the story behind the brand is inspiring. 4 besties with a vision of opening a coffee shop. Though the menu is simple at the moment, the coffee and tea is sourced locally. I love the chicory in the coffee drinks. A simple Vanilla Latte w/ Oat milk and I enjoyed every sip of it. The space is VERY big. Supports team meetings, community seating, or even private single seating along the front of the space. read more
I am currently on my hojicha hunt after drinking too many Matchas. We got the iced cinnamon honey coffee and hot hojicha latte. They are both excellent. I didn't even add sugar or anything into my hojicha latte and it taste perfect! Very strong taste of hojicha (usually it's pretty watered down). I The cinnamon coffee is very good and not too sweet either. I would come back to try other drinks! read more
Went in on a rainy Saturday and it was very busy, the line was long and took a while to get our drinks. The place is located in a plaza with plenty of parking. Very spacious with many tables and chairs. We ordered a unsweetened iced matcha latte with oat milk and a hot vanilla latte with oat milk. They offer hot options since my boyfriend wanted a hot coffee on a rainy day but we weren't sure if they offered it since all the yelp pictures were all cold drinks. We did try to call them but they didn't answer since they are super busy. We were going to get my matcha and go somewhere else to get a hot latte for him somewhere else, but glad they offered! His vanilla latte was very good. There is a good hint of sweetness but still has a strong coffee taste (not watered down or overpowering by milk). My matcha was very deep in color which I like and it has the perfect ratio of milk and matcha. I can taste how strong the matcha but the only thing that was a bit thrown off to me was a bit grainy and not smooth. I've been to Easy Does It a few times and I can say that they service superb drinks! I do wish they serve two different drink sizes. I tried their iced hojicha latte this time and 100/10! Yum! It was also my first time trying the matcha passionfruit, it wasn't bad, I think I just like my matcha drinks with milk instead of a refresher. Love how this place was so spacious and it has come a long way since their soft opening! Definitely the study spot to go to, so make sure you get there early! The matcha was really yummy and earthy, not too sweet! They're also the place that uses nami matcha and they sell the matcha powder tins too! The service was great too and everyone was so nice! read more

Easy does it is a cute cafe with a minimalistic vibe. This would be a great place to have a drink and get some work done. There's plenty of seating and lots of light. The service here is great as well, I ordered the matcha cloud and it came out in close to 5 minutes. The matcha here is fairly good compared to most places in San Diego. The cup is kind of small though. I am not sure if they have a bigger size but I would love to get that next time if they do. I enjoyed the foam but my matcha was slightly astringent/bitter. I would recommend trying the drink first and adding syrup if needed which they provide on the side. Overall, easy does it is a cute place to try if you like a small matcha that is less sweet. read more
Same coffee you can get everywhere else. Pastries weren't that great. Gingerbread cookie was super stale, jalapeno galette was mushy, had no jalapeno taste. Corn tart and scallion scone was probably the only 2 best things they offered. read more
