By far the best japanese food and sushi I have ever had and I've been to many places. The drinks were amazing, the rolls were fantastic, and the sashimi was out of this world, I couldn't stop from ordering more. The hamachi bon bons and the A5 wagyu are a must try. The oysters during happy hour are super fresh and wonderful, not like the cheap kind of happy hour oysters you get at some other places, that alone was worth the stop, all of their happy hour menu was delicious. I've been craving uni (sea urchin) for a while now. I was in Napa and decided to Yelp a new sushi place to try. Eiko's came up, I looked through their photos and saw they had uni. SOLD. On my way! I called to ask how long the wait was and to confirm if they had uni available that day. They do close at 2pm and open again at 4pm, we got there at 1:30pm. Got sat right away, in the lounge. Juan was our server, I'm pretty sure he was the bartender as well. Service was great. Juan was attentive, friendly, and funny. I ordered the Hamachi "Bon-Bons" delicious. Got my uni and chu toro, absolutely amazing. So fresh and melted in my mouth. Love this place so much , that I came back for lunch a week later. Happy to finally be back in the valley visiting all the old favorites. A visit here has been far overdue, so much so we've visited 3 times in the last two weeks. This is a really cool spot with a good ambience, but we had issues with the service being super slow, although our server was great! The sushi wasn't that great either, none of the rolls had that much flavor to me. We requested a table with a heater, but we sat there in the cold for at least 20 min before they turned the heater on since they were waiting on a propane tank. Will is a gem!!! 500 stars!!! He's always on point and brings great entertainment! We never need for anything when he's working and he gives us great food recommendations. Will is the ambiance there, if he's not serving us it's like we're at a completely different restaurant. Last week we had another server who took forever to greet us, got part of our order wrong, and he never brought the bill! (We did inform him were were in a rush). Gabe saved the day! It was our first time here. Food was mediocre. Overpriced for the quality but I mean you're in Napa, so it's bound to be pricey. Spare ribs tasted okay. A copy cat version of the ribs from Morimoto (morimoto ribs are way better). Chu-toro was good and buttery. Hamachi bon bon was good but not a must have. Sushi quality is mediocre, not the best quality. It smell and tasted fishy, I couldn't finish the nigiris and had to spit it out. Beginning of service was great. The end wasn't. We waited over 45 minutes for our check, asked for our server and nobody came by. We eventually just went to the front desk to pay. I had reservations for later in the evening but decided to stop by early so I could head back towards the Bay area. This ended up being a great idea as Eiko's has a happy hour worth checking out. I decided to start with a cold house sake and the 1/2 dozen Miyagi oysters, and the avocado tempura. The champagne mignonette was a perfect addition to these mid-sized oysters with a mild brine. A perfect pairing with the sake. The avocado tempura was warm, crispy, and served with salt and lemon to add a little acid to the dish. Next, I opted for the seared A5 wagyu nigiri and chu-toro (bluefin tuna belly). Wow, both were so creamy and exceeded my expectations. To be honest, on the second wagyu, I separated this from the sushi rice and had on it's own. I'd suggest the same as it melted in my mouth. Don't dip it in the soy sauce, enjoy this on its own! Although I was full, I had to have a roll and opted for Ricky Ricardo on Vacation. This was my first time at Eiko's so I can't speak for their other rolls, but having traveled quite a bit, this may have been one of the best rolls that I have had before. Understanding that today was a Monday, you may not always get fresh sushi because it's early in the week. Well, my theory was blown as the fish was fresh, the rice was perfect, and the presentation did not disappoint. Enjoyed Happy Hour at Eiko's last night with my senior parents visiting from the east coast. Our experience was 5 star all the way! First, the ability to make a reservation for HH is so helpful . HH is in the bar area and outside patio, this larger area gives customers available space to enjoy, instead of only being available around a bar, that seats 8, and the 8 customers stay the entire time! Our service was awesome, very attentive, accommodating and friendly. There was no issue turning on the heaters right away. The HH menu is reasonable and has great selections. We enjoyed sushi, oysters, gyoza, healthy fries; the ribs are no longer on the HH menu but they are a must for us and we ordered from the regular menu. Based on the reviews we almost did not try this place, but I'm glad we did. We made a lunch reservation using OpenTable and were seated immediately upon arrival. The wait staff took our drink order in less than 5 minutes and we placed our food order when the drinks arrived a few minutes later. My margarita was made with fresh juice and not a mix and was fantastic. We loved everything, the duck confit rice was incredible! All the sushi was fresh and prepared properly. The only miss was the rice on the Neko Chan roll, it is was a little soggy. Everything tasted just ok to me. When I got home I felt I needed to eat something to feel more satisfied because the food left a weird after taste in my mouth. We were seated in the main dining room where they had plastic partitions between tables. This time we ordered the Tacos Japanois, Neko Chan Roll, and Tsunami Roll. I also got a drink, forgot what it was called, but again, everything tasted pretty average. As for service, it could use some work. On the first night we asked for a fork that was never brought out, and a server forgot to bring us the to-go box we asked for. The next night, they seemingly forgot to bring out the dessert we ordered (Mille crepe cake, nothing special). We must have waited half an hour for it. We were in a hurry at that point and took it to go (and paid by cash because who knows how long they would have taken to charge our credit card). The "owner" followed them in the bathroom and proceeeed to tell them they looked suspicious because they went in one stall. she then continued to harass them in the bathroom. It's daily from 4-6pm and for a dinner for 2 we can easily be well fed on some delicious sushi with a hot sake carafe to share for under $50 with tip. Very attentive service and it was quite busy on a Tuesday night. The atmosphere was lively amid the outdated throwbacks playlist so it gave off a very casual vibe. Out of everything I tried, I would recommend the Spicy Trio Roll. The Sake Make tasted standard and fresh, which was great. The Spider Roll was mid as there was not much crab meat in the roll. The Kaibashira (raw scallop nigiri) was also mid as it was a bit too salty for my palate and I expected it to taste more sweet.
