I visited for the first time on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend and loved the coffee shop's aesthetic. I didn't get the chance to listen to any of the records but want to do that the next time I visit. Staff were friendly. I got the London Fog latte on this visit and thought it was a little weak but not terrible. They have a good range of interesting sounding drinks and the matcha that was coming out looked good. I love that it's open late, went at 4 pm on Saturday and stayed until almost 6, it was pretty chill which was great to explore the vinyls and listening station. The premade chia pudding etc items were excellent, and after asking for recs I ordered the cold brew + mocha cold foam. It was a bit strong with just the foam to dilute the cold brew, but decent. They have many drinks on the specialty menu, including the fall ones still. I do wish they had for-here glasses/mugs to use in the cafe instead of just the plastic option for the iced drink. Unique cafe with cool vibes! I visited this cafe on a Friday early afternoon and I'm glad I did because this place serves up some good vibes and drinks! Walking in, I loved the decor. There seemed to be a music theme with all the speakers and records decorated throughout the cafe. You could even select records to listen to on the spot there which I thought was really cool. Ordering and receiving my drink was relatively quick and easy, I got my drink almost immediately. I ordered the strawberry matcha and it was good. The best part was the strawberry cream and purée which had a nice strawberry flavor and was sweet and creamy. The matcha itself was okay, I wish there more of a matcha concentration relative to milk. Mixed together with the strawberry, it was good though. It felt more like a strawberry drink with some matcha flavoring. I also liked the strawberry and basil topping which they picked fresh from a basil plant. The seating was also nice too. There were many different seating options from outdoor to indoor and window seating. There were also outlets and wifi, so this could be a good study/work spot. Established Today is a really cool Melrose coffee shop that works just as well for getting some work done as it does for a casual date. The outdoor area is especially nice, and the music and record collection give the whole place a lot more personality than your average cafe. I have also randomly ended up here when they had a Burning Man pop-up clothing store set up in the back, which was a fun surprise and felt very on brand for the space. However, I was super disappointed by the lack of matcha flavor, especially for the price. I really only could taste the ube and the coconut flakes. The barista who took our order wasn't the warmest, but they could have been having a bad day. Most of the customers were doing work or catching up with friends, and there's plenty of comfortable seating both inside and outside the cafe. The individual listening booths are a nice touch but I didn't see anyone take advantage of them while we were there. I visited later in the day and opted for their iced black tea instead of an espresso drink. It cost $5.38 plus a $1 tip. Service was speedy, and I could grab a table to settle. The iced black tea was OK. I enjoyed the floral notes; it wasn't bitter, so the tea was steeped well. They utilize space well. Although it was busy when I arrived, I did not feel claustrophobic at any point. They also have charging ports, which is rare for coffee shops. Overall, I enjoyed my visit.
