The bread is super soft inside and warm, and when they put a slice of butter inside, it melts into the bread. It's also kinda chewy inside like a mochi consistency. I recommend the original custard pineapple bun. The salted egg yolk pineapple bun was also good but I think it should have had a little more filling. If you're craving savory pastries, the bbq pork pineapple bun is also good. The croissant egg tarts are fantastic. The custard tastes like a Portuguese egg tart but the crust is super crunchy and flakey. There's a caramelized sugar coating around the crust which makes it extra crispy. Highly recommend! Next time I'd probably order online and come for pickup. There's two lines and they're both pretty long: ordering and pick up. Btw they take only cash if you order in person. The pizza crust was thin and crispy - with just the right amount of chew - and tasted slightly of sourdough. Topping-wise, the mushrooms were abundant but not overpowering; however, I wish there had been other vegetables to balance out the flavor. Paying less than $5 for a generously-sized slice (adorned with a mini slice on top) felt like a bargain, especially in SF. I would definitely make the trip back out here to give the pizza another try and to pick up some of the other baked goods.

Since May of this year, I have occasionally found small amounts of grit or sand in the "Wife Cakes" (sweetheart cakes) I purchased--suggesting, perhaps, that fermented dough fell on the floor and was picked up and baked, or that finished pastries fell, picked up some grit, and were then placed on the tray for sale. I also frequently buy mini sponge cakes and have found eggshell fragments inside; this likely happens when the baker accidentally mixes shell fragments in while cracking the eggs. These issues have occurred repeatedly, forcing me to stop patronizing this shop and instead walk a few extra blocks to Sheng Kee Bakery for my pastries. I believe such problems arise when a business expands rapidly without maintaining adequate quality control; I sincerely hope the owner will take a hands-on approach to production and rectify this situation. read more

They offer the standard HK style food, noodles, rice plates, a la carte (family style) dishes and of course, the specials posted on the wall in Chinese, We ordered the Singapore Rice Noodle and Wonton Fun Soup to share. After ordering, it came out quickly. The wonton soup was delicious--there were plenty of wontons to share and they were relatively large in size. However, the Singapore rice noodles, checked all the boxes, portion, color, ingredients, but I think it lacked a little in curry flavor and a touch bland--but that could have been a personal taste issue. Overall, we had a good meal and ordered take out meals for later. They also offer a variety of baked buns which is especially nice and provided another option to get bakery items other than Irving Street or further down Noriega. I ordered BBQ pork buns, custard buns, and raisin twists and it was all very delicious. This place is still fairly new, and it will have some growing pains and areas of improvement. I think it is worth checking out, if anything for the baos!

Fairly new combination Cantonese bakery and restaurant. Went on a Sunday for lunch and ordered:…read more- Tomato Beef Pan Fried Noodles, the beef could be more tender - Salted Fish Pork Hash, nice pungent dish and happy to see it on the menu - Honey Walnut Prawns, good size order of 12 small-medium sized shrimp although a bit too much Mayo for us. Needed more frying / glazing before mixing with the mayo Service was good and the workers can be a bit talkative and loud, so expect a lively chatter throughout your meal.
