Fat Choy is a local gem, definitely a diamond in the rough (literally). It's located inside of Eureka Casino, located in a somewhat shady area, but don't let that stop you. I wasn't sure what to order as everything sounded delicious, but the Fat Choy combo seemed to be the safest option, I mean it is named after the restaurant. This combo plate was one of the best Ive ever had, unfortunately the had run out of short rib and substituted with an extra piece of pork belly. The sauce that the meat is slathered in liquid gold, similar to teriyaki but not as sweet, paired perfectly with a bed of white rice and Mac salad. The Mac salad is not as thick, the sauce is a tad thinner but just as flavorful, it is a distinct flavor but I cannot put my finger on it. I would say you have to come to try it for yourself. Overall, very solid plate of food, all the staff were wonderful, accommodating for a first timer, and put love into their work. This is a retro-diner-type restaurant with deco ambiance and furnishings. I had the pork belly bao with mustard greens, cilantro, crushed peanuts and some sriracha which was well seasoned pork in pillowy goodness. Was in the mood for a local eatery and came to Fat Choi. Inside a local small casino named Eureka. Was greeted by Miss Tanya. A sazzy and amazingly friendly server. She recommended the pork belly sandwiches and tempura shrimp. What amazing dishes. At the end she told me of a great dessert. Peppermint cheesecake. It was fabulous. Look for Eureka Casino and ...eureka! You found Fat Choy restaurant. No issue parking and you'll see a security guard up front. Walk past the smoky casino and you'll see a cute little retro diner with a counter. I came here wanting the pork mini bao. We also ordered the duck version, half n half Sweet Chili and BBQ wings and regular Grilled Cheese. All of it was excellent! They refer to their cuisine as Asian American. It's not as fusion but a menu that offers both Asian flavors and American dishes like BBQ wings and burgers. I would totally come back here and highly recommend trying the baos and the short rib grilled cheese. The baos aren't even easy to find in SoCal, so I appreciate the duck baos. Traditionally, duck is ordered in advance and you pretty much need to buy the whole bird. In this case, you can order it as an app to try it. I actually ordered both the pork and duck versions as my meal. I met the owner and their culinary journey is interesting. Going the food truck route initially, being featured on DDD and eventually settling in a location. The area is industrial and a little sketchy but it's close to downtown and the Stratosphere. If you have ever read any of my past reviews, you know that I'm a fan of the Foodnetwork's "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives". I saw this episode about a week before my latest trip to Las Vegas so I had to try this place out. It is located within the Eureka Casino on Sahara Blvd. and I have passed this place many times without knowing a place like this exists inside. The entrance to the casino is located on the south side even though the front of the building faces north. When you enter, you can't miss the restaurant's sign to your right. When you enter, it is a very small place. Unlike other restaurants that have been featured on this TV show, this place didn't expand over night. I probably has 8 booths, a few tables along the center and counter seating. The wait staff was very welcoming and cheerfully told us to sit wherever we wanted to. The menu has many choices that looked good and I chose the Braised Beef Grilled cheese sandwich (which was featured on the show) and my wife chose the Kim chi bacon cheeseburger. Both came out within 10 minutes. The beef was very tender and blended well with the gooey cheese. The kim chi burger was very juicy and flavorful. I would recommend both. The desserts looked tempting but we were both too full from our meals to have a dessert this time. Something to look forward to on the next time here. read more

Located inside the Eureka casino, its not very hard to find since the casino itself is small, like REALLY small. We found the restaurant easily and the restaurant itself was small with a few booths. We decided not to sit in the restaurant itself but at the bar (which was a couple steps away) since we were meeting a couple of the husband's friends. After reading some of the reviews, I decided to go with the short rib grilled cheese cause I read that Guy Fieri recommended it on his show. I thought the sandwich was pretty heavy. Not sure if I would order it again. It was definitely on the sweet side. So much that I wished I had a pickle to help balance the sweetness and heaviness of the sandwich. The husband loves duck so he decided to go with the duck rice dish. Unfortunately he didn't really care for it either. I don't like duck, so I can't say anything about it personally, but he did say it didn't taste like duck but more like chicken. Sadly, we both didn't enjoy our meals =( Now the service itself that we received was great. The bartender was great in taking our order, giving us suggestions on what to order, and making sure our drinks were always full. Warning, the casino itself is small and the ventilation really sucks. Like the other Yelpers mentioned, be prepared to eat with the stench of smoke all around you. I know we sat at the bar and I cant really comment on how it was sitting in the restaurant itself but even when we stepped into the restaurant, the cigarette smoke was still strong. So be prepared. What an amazing hidden gem in Las Vegas! Thanks to Yelp (filtering to local eats), we were able to stumble across this super cool Asian-American Diner. Once featured on Diners, Drive-in's, and Dives, this place has received Guy Fieri's stamp of approval; and mine too! We tried the tofu bao, chicken teriyaki and the noodle bowl. All were super yummy! Had to stop by after watching an episode of Triple D, and so glad I did. Had to start out with the pork belly bao. OMG it is out of this world. The bao was soft and airy, the pork belly was soft sweet and delicious, and there was some type of pickled veggie on top. Damn. Well worth it... FYI. I ordered a second portion in replacement of dessert!!!! Also had the wings (won't do that again, it's a waste of stomach space) Sesame noodles were awesome. I was expecting some kind of buttery dish, but it was the opposite, it was light and sweet. Yum. Also got the short rib grilled cheese. OMG again. Delicious. A bit on the heavy side but still great Finally we got the duck on rice. Gonna skip that the next time too. It's good but ordinary. Can't wait to go back and try the Fat Choy Burger. This place is the bomb! If you are craving for some Asian food around 10 pm (where every other Asian restaurants are closed at that time), this is your spot! Regardless of time, just give them a try anyways! Tanya is the superstar waitress there! She's been very attentive, kind, sweet, and chatty to me throughout my time there. Also, she has been respectful and adherent to the CDC guidelines. Great job! The food is not as greasy like Panda Express -- more like Flame Broiler style. There is only one problem with Fat Choy's Sunday only brunch and that is, it is only served on Sunday, Yes, a real bummer for those of you who only visit Las Vegas mid-week. On the first morning of our recently concluded vacation we celebrated friends' first anniversary at this restaurant located in the smoke filled Eureka Casino. 3 out of 4 ordered the Fat Benedicts while the 4th, my wife, went traditional by ordering the traditional Benedict. Think a pair of poached eggs, crispy pork belly, English muffin and perfectly executed Hollandaise sauce accompanied by roasted potatoes. My sole quibble was I forgot to request runny eggs when ordering so they were done a bit more than I prefer. Think delicious and think bargain since we were allowed to use a pair of 2 for 1 coupons from the Las Vegas Advisor. I think we will be returning. read more

Each order of Bao comes with 2 pieces, great deal for $7.50! Super nice and friendly service! Something here for everyone here. My kids had a burger and patty melt. I would try the noodles and shrimp tempura next time we visit. Decent Asian fusion food for a good price. We stayed at the Westgate hotel (Formerly the Las Vegas Hilton) and it was just around the corner. About a 2 minute drive. Easy to find, with lots of signage once you arrive at the hotel. Provender: the pork baos here are super legit. I have to try the duck next time I'm here. Prices: two baos will run you about $8. They have other good eats on the menu too. Parking: there's a dedicated lot behind the Eureka casino, so parking shouldn't be a problem. People: fun for all ages. Perks: they have barstools, TVs, tables, and booths. Decided to hit a Diner, Drive-Ins, and Dives. I have my Vegas Triple D's all in a collection in Yelp and used a map to find somewhere where I needed to be. Atmosphere - I completely forgot that this place was inside a casino until we pulled into the casino parking lot via Google map directions. You can tell this place has expanded since Triple D has aired. Just a few other people we dining. Take out was going steady even at this later lunch time. It has the old diner feel, but recently built, with a little touch of Chinese art. The counter has probably 6 spaces, with 5 booths, and a few tables. Food Drink - Lucky Buddha beer, it is all about the bottle. Really the beer is just blah. They even use the old bottles as vases on the tables. Lunch - Dinner reservations are coming up fast. So my wife and I shared a meal. Asian Duck Confit on Rice, which comes with a balsamic house salad. The salad was good but felt out of place. Perhaps an Asian veggie mix would having to the duck confit beer. The duck was next to rice with rice covered in a light amount of sauce. Service - Friendly. The Sandwich looked so cheesy, and it was, but it seems they were out of cheddar and provolone cheese as stated in the menu . . all I tasted was American cheese, unfortunately. The Casino has all electronic machines ranging from penny slots to more, a bar and that's it just in case you have to wait. Don't come expecting dealers and crap tables. This is truly a local spot. The restaurant setup reminds you of a simple diner and that's what I liked about it. Staff was friendly and easily answered all our questions and provided recommendations that helped. We order a few things despite being only 2 of us I thought we order a bit much, but it was a splurge. We got the Pork Belly Bao, Peking Duck Bao , The Shortrib Grilled Cheese, The Fat Choy Burger... Me and my buddy split the Bao as it comes with 2 and we couldn't decide which one we like best but both agreed they were great. The Shortrib Grilled Cheese on Sourdough... BOMB!!!!
