This place is pretty good. I checked it out because they office gluten free crust AND vegan cheese. I ordered a pizza with GF crust, vegan cheese, and mushrooms. I also ordered wings (8) and my total came out to $28. The wings were SO yummy! The front end cashier was so sweet (brown hair, gold thin rimmed glasses). Wanted to try a new pizza place in Long Beach and so we decided on Fat Tomato Pizza. We got a large (that was actually quite small for a large) half Fat Tomato and half veggie. We heard from the reviews to ask for extra marinara sauce so we did and it looked like they just plopped it on top of the pizza toppings rather than adding it onto the pizza crust. We thought that a little odd, but it still tasted good. Good amount of veggies on the veggie pizza. Fat Tomato is my new go-to pizza place! Not only was it fast, but delicious. They have affordable pizza and the salad was incredible! Additionally, I feel this is a no brainer, however we called a few other local pizza places and they turned us away because they were backed up - we were extremely grateful Fat Tomato did not, even though they also had a high demand. They have an efficient system, that is working and allows for them to provide customers with what they are supposed to be providing as a business. The gal that took care of us , was very patient with Spot on service . The kids wanted spaghetti and your menu says baked spaghetti which we did not understand what that was, I ordered it just to see what it was and it's spaghetti and a little bit of cheese is baked on it, anyway it was delicious and our finicky eater looked at my plate and then ordered one for himself and he enjoyed it as well. Their food is consistently made well, customer service is great & we love that we can order from them directly, instead of having to use one of those terrible apps that charge you more $$. What happened to this place? This used to be the best pizza in LBC, and a much used take-away place during the pandemic. Something changed within the last two months or so. This is the second time I ordered delivery. The first time the crust was undercooked so I thought I had maybe order too may toppings. This time, I offered one of the standard veggie pizzas with extra chicken. I literally got less than 1 oz of chicken for the extra fee I paid. Additionally, I asked the delivery guy if he had crushed red pepper and he looked at me as if I were crazy. So no red pepper, but what did come on my veggie pizza was a vegetable that was NOT originally listed in the ingredient list. We have been supporting this business since it's conception and have been satisfied with their food products. Their personnel is pleasant and accommodating. We are, sadly disappointed at how things turned out tonight while ordering for delivery. Fat tomato did not have available delivery drivers in house so a "third party" delivery company was summoned. when we placed the order we told the "manager" that we would be paying with cash. The Total due in cash was $25. We had two twenty dollar bills. When the third party person arrived we asked him for $10 change as we planned to give him a $5 tip. He replied with a "I don't have cash on me." He seemed bothered, distraught, short tempered and hostile. We walked back upstairs and called Fat tomato again asking for ways to solve the problem. Fat tomato responded "we don't have in house drivers, Idont know how to help you, but tell him to get some change at a liquor store or something..." So I asked Fat tomato to call the third party driver directly and talk to him about a possible solution. We were not the ones who created the problem to begin with. After several minutes we went back downstairs and found the food on the sidewalk. Adjacent to were homeless people, dogs and cats defecate. We told the third party delivery guy "Mike" that we would go to a Seven eleven a few blocks away and brake a $20 bill. we proceeded to walk to seven eleven Buy a non desirable cookie and break the $20 so to give "Mike" his tip and pay for the food. When we arrived, we Saw the food still laying on the ground, unattended. We proceeded to walk upstairs and call fat tomato again to inquire about the safety of the food which was left unattended on the side walk for over 20 plus minutes. It seems like While we are on the phone with Fat Tomato and according to our security surveillance system, the third party driver took off with the food. We walked back downstairs and found no traces of the delivery Person. Several minutes later "Mike" rode back to Fat tomato with food in hand. According to Fat tomato, the third party company refused to re-deliver the food. We will absolutely continue to support Fat tomato however. This unpleasant situation would had been avoided by simply letting us know: "exact cash or card payments only...because our drivers carry no change." We will gladly up grade the rating if our next business transaction merits a satisfactory rating. read more

Okay, this place is pretty great. Ordered off of Yelp for pick up and when I got there my zza seemed to have gone missing, likely given to the wrong customer. Was a bit annoyed at first but they were able to remake it in a very reasonable time and even willing to make some changes to the original order that I was not able to customize on the app. The pie came out piping hot with cheese pulls like you see on tv but actual cheese. It was a dang good pizza with quality ingredients and next pizza night, I know exactly where I'll be going to get it! Reasonable price and a nice pick up store front, though not really designed for eating in. The pizza is excellent, the place is not clean. I counted over 450 pieces of tape on the exterior windows. Ok, I didn't actually count, but there is an ABSURD amount. The windows are also filthy. Note to self, go somewhere else. I got a large pepperoni pizza and took it home. My wife takes one bite and says it's bad. She tells me the crust tastes like a cooked soul of an old leather shoe. I think she's being harsh. She says that something tastes wrong, don't eat. I eat half the pizza. I'm up all night needing to drink water, usually means too salty. I get up at the crack of dawn and spend three hours on and off the toilet. My wife she won't listen to me, she buys seventh generation TP because it's recycled, I think it's sand paper. Well after three hours my behind is bleeding and my wife is handing me wet wipes and saying she told me so. I'll probably go back here again next year because I will forget this whole ordeal. 1st time in California, I'm from the East coast and idk if it was just this place or California has a different idea of good pizza. The pizza was very dry, practically no grease or tomato sauce but the worse part was the marinara sauce for the mozzarella sticks. By far the driest and worse I've ever had. The Long Beach pizza game is a winding road. Nothing quite stands out from the pack, but there is definitely an upper tier in the 'za competition. Fat Tomato is literally the closest pizza place to my house and every time I got there it seems to get better. Perfect amount of grease, THIN crust (which is a rarity around these parts), zesty sauce and premium toppings. Only deterrent is the price (although by the slice is semi-economical). I would rate this place a solid 4 stars with the price knocking it one. But honestly I HAVE to give it a five because the CUSTOMER SERVICE is always amazing. Whoever the manager is deserves a raise.
