    Quin S.

I was here early on during the Field Trip wave and was happy to be part of it. Now I'm back with an updated review, though my visits have become less frequent than in previous years. In short, it seems that recipes, portions, and menu options shift over time in ways that leave customers holding on to the memory of those first great experiences--only to find it has slipped away. For the last five or so visits, the fish (which is the only thing I eat here) has consistently been extremely salty. The last time, I had to throw it away. The balance of rice and vegetables used to be even, but now it's more like 80/20--mostly vegetables. The greens aren't chopped well and are undercooked, making them harder to digest. This isn't a critique of the customer service or the staff, who remain kind and helpful. It's more of a reminder that things change--and not always for the better.

The food came in a nice shopping bag

The food is Awesome it couldn't be better for those who want more choices for healthy lifestyle my making a more vegan entrees and the food was very well prepared everything was well seasoned and mouthful of delicious array of vegetables .. The time line for delivery was less than 20 minutes for freshly cooked food the delivery person was very friendly and polite the way the food is sent with the utensils included

    Chickpea Curry Bowl

I love this fast casual spot in Harlem because they offer a plant based chickpea curry bowl with available toppings like mango mash and pickled onions. We had an event so they made roasted brussels sprouts and baked falafel. What healthy choices for those of us who eat healthful plant options which is not typical in my neigborhood. Staff was super helpful and friendly!

I had to come back here to eat my favorite rice bowl. This time I decided to dine in with my service pup and I'm so happy I did. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is so clean and comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is quick and helpful always. I love that no matter how much time passes the food always keeps the taste I love! Next time I go I'll try to order something new just to explore but so far I'm addicted to my choice! HIGHLY recommend coming to this place.

I've been wanting to try Fieldtrip for a while now and it did not disappoint. It is black owned, and operated. My salmon was cooked well and all the vegetables in my bowl were delicious. My son ordered chicken and it was good. Service was great and there were seats inside if you wanted to eat in, but we took ours to go. I look forward to returning, and I would definitely recommend this place. I also would recommend going in and placing your order, Or you can eat there. I tried to call and order in, but that didn't quite work out. Inside seating is fine.

JJ is known for his rice but his beef dishes are my favorite. I seriously schedule a visit to Fieldtrip in my NYC itineraries - it is that serious! Fieldtrip was my excuse to visit Harlem. His restaurant is steps away from 116th subway station on the 2/3 line which was an easy trip from Harold Square. The braised beef bowl is like nothing I have ever tasted. The beef falls apart and the bowl is full of veggies, rice, and beans. Healthy and yummy - can't beat it! It is more than enough food for a very hungry adult, but I always add a side of fried chicken. Again - so much food. My only critique is that they did not have crab pockets. The customer service is great and I received a $5 birthday discount because I signed up for the loyalty program back in December. Can't wait for my next trip to NYC for this amazing food!

Not bad and came with some Herb fries. Service - (4/5) - servers were friendly and fairly attentive. Can get a bit busy and took bit longer than expected to get the order but regular check-ins afterwards. Atmosphere - (4/5) - it's at the bottom of the Edison Hotel so there isn't a dedicated restroom it's by the hotel lobby. Dim and homey feel to the layout and furniture/lighting. They have a partnership with a company that provides singing servers during dinner hour. Keep in mind they add a mandatory 5% fee on your bill for this! Overall - (4/5) - not a bad place and good for GF customers and those staying in the hotel.

I did not experience the singing servers during my patronized visit. Upon entering the Maître d' announced "right now, we're only seating at the bar counter not at tables," so why do I see patrons sitting at booth tables? Oh! It was somewhat busy but not at full capacity for full-on hustle bustle busy. Friedman's is located adjacent to Hotel Edison and restroom facility is in the hotel's lobby. Access to Hotel Edison's facility is limited as the hotel's staff will stop all who enter as I am not a hotel guest. I believe Friedman's is very overhype, and overrated. My male server/waiter calls all the female patrons "love" which does not bother me and does not irk me at all. But please do not call me "babe", "baby", "mamma" or "mommy" as these are too sexist, outdated and stereotype in some cultures/race directed at women. Friedman's is certainly a modern American luncheonette. No comment for alcohol as I not order any. There are no business cards for keepsake. Pastrami on rye $26.00 Mustard, pickle and vinegar chips The meat heavily embedded with a lot of white fat stretched and stuck together when bitten. The mustard was mild spicy which gave the meat a zesty kick for aliveness, but minimally applied. The pickle was average. The vinegar chips were very stale and harden. The rye bread was average with caraway seeds which was blah. I am uninterested in caraway seeds. Katz's Delicatessen continues to reign supreme in pastrami on rye as the meat is excessively abundant quantity and very flavorful without the need of mustard or mayo. At the bottom of the sales receipt there is a suggested gratuity in intervals of 20%, 22% and 25% where customers do not have to perform math calculation. I was able to obtain my sales receipt as keepsake.
