Quin S.

I was here early on during the Field Trip wave and was happy to be part of it. Now I'm back with an updated review, though my visits have become less frequent than in previous years. In short, it seems that recipes, portions, and menu options shift over time in ways that leave customers holding on to the memory of those first great experiences--only to find it has slipped away. For the last five or so visits, the fish (which is the only thing I eat here) has consistently been extremely salty. The last time, I had to throw it away. The balance of rice and vegetables used to be even, but now it's more like 80/20--mostly vegetables. The greens aren't chopped well and are undercooked, making them harder to digest. This isn't a critique of the customer service or the staff, who remain kind and helpful. It's more of a reminder that things change--and not always for the better.

The food came in a nice shopping bag

The food is Awesome it couldn't be better for those who want more choices for healthy lifestyle my making a more vegan entrees and the food was very well prepared everything was well seasoned and mouthful of delicious array of vegetables .. The time line for delivery was less than 20 minutes for freshly cooked food the delivery person was very friendly and polite the way the food is sent with the utensils included

Chickpea Curry Bowl

I love this fast casual spot in Harlem because they offer a plant based chickpea curry bowl with available toppings like mango mash and pickled onions. We had an event so they made roasted brussels sprouts and baked falafel. What healthy choices for those of us who eat healthful plant options which is not typical in my neigborhood. Staff was super helpful and friendly!

I had to come back here to eat my favorite rice bowl. This time I decided to dine in with my service pup and I'm so happy I did. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is so clean and comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is quick and helpful always. I love that no matter how much time passes the food always keeps the taste I love! Next time I go I'll try to order something new just to explore but so far I'm addicted to my choice! HIGHLY recommend coming to this place.

I've been wanting to try Fieldtrip for a while now and it did not disappoint. It is black owned, and operated. My salmon was cooked well and all the vegetables in my bowl were delicious. My son ordered chicken and it was good. Service was great and there were seats inside if you wanted to eat in, but we took ours to go. I look forward to returning, and I would definitely recommend this place. I also would recommend going in and placing your order, Or you can eat there. I tried to call and order in, but that didn't quite work out. Inside seating is fine.

JJ is known for his rice but his beef dishes are my favorite. I seriously schedule a visit to Fieldtrip in my NYC itineraries - it is that serious! Fieldtrip was my excuse to visit Harlem. His restaurant is steps away from 116th subway station on the 2/3 line which was an easy trip from Harold Square. The braised beef bowl is like nothing I have ever tasted. The beef falls apart and the bowl is full of veggies, rice, and beans. Healthy and yummy - can't beat it! It is more than enough food for a very hungry adult, but I always add a side of fried chicken. Again - so much food. My only critique is that they did not have crab pockets. The customer service is great and I received a $5 birthday discount because I signed up for the loyalty program back in December. Can't wait for my next trip to NYC for this amazing food!

Okay so here is an update : we were in area for only 4 nights and after trying it once for our dinner we kept going back, we were there for 3 times total and tried all the things we wanted to - tried Broadway burrito, linguini Fini Alfredo, vegetable barley soup. For sweets we had vanilla bean pan a cotta and blueberry lemon shortcake and. a cappucino - can you tell we were obsessed with this place???? Hans the host was really friendly, warm and engaging. We didn't have a reservation and he didn't mind. The bathrooms were clean. The presentation of the food was beautiful, and it was absolutely delicious every single dish.!! I had two Modelo beers, we had an order of vegan crabcakes with tartar sauce. Chicken wings, which were so good with a few few different types of sauces. Vegan steak came with rice and spinach, which is absolutely delicious. a vegan chicken pot pie. I personally think it should be a little bit thicker and not so soupy, but it was really really good. we had fries with black beans and Vegan cheese. espresso and for dessert, vegan tiramisu and a blueberry dessert. It was really good little sweet for me but very good all the same.. I highly recommend this restaurant and I will definitely be back!

I was a little surprised when the server handed us the menus and we opened the front flap to discover... tablets. That said, I actually appreciated the photos of each menu item--it made ordering easier and faster. Now, the food. Hands down, this was the best Mediterranean food I've had in the U.S. We ordered the chicken shawarma tacos and a side of falafel. The falafel was soft on the inside (not dry at all) and crispy on the outside, sitting in a bed of the smoothest tahini cream I've ever tasted--and I don't even like tahini. The chicken was incredibly flavorful, and every bite actually had chicken. No skimping on the protein here. The pita pocket was small but soft and fresh, not dry. Best part: the chicken taco came with small sides of hummus, baba ganoush, creamed tahini, and finely chopped tomatoes and cucumbers. Boom. Every single element was delicious. One downside: there's only one restroom, it's small, and while it's tastefully decorated, it could have used a bit more attention. Would I go back? 100% yes. I honestly wish I could teleport this place back home with me so I could become a regular.

Five flavor plate - a nice amuse-bouche that went through a series of flavors: Hawthorne jelly for sour, yams for sweet - butter melon jelly for bitter, mushroom.and black pepper for spicy, and radish cracker for salty. The bitter melon was my favorite and definitely wasn't that better - it had pleasant spices almost like a chutney. Next was mushrooms in a light cucumber sauce, followed by a savory and thick 18 vegetable soup. This was a nice back to back contrast of light and simple with rich and hearty. The next three courses were aiming to imitate meat a little more. The first was a grilled mushroom over fragrant green millet. Then, sweet and sour tofu skin, and another grilled mushroom covered in a curry sauce. Of these, the tofu skin was my favorite as the bright course in between the savory ones. Next was rice in a savory broth with peach jelly, and then a nutty noodle dish with a smooth and creamy sauce with a nice blend of spices. These helped round out the meal, and the noodles were especially tasty. To end was a dessert made from berries and sweet potato, almost with the texture of ice cream. Reservation is required and the meal is prepaid except for tip. The whole thing came to about $130 each after tax and tip. I found the meal to be less heavy than most other tasting menus and very creative.

Served as a progressive prix fixe menu, dishes arrive one after the other. We started with a delightful five-flavor plate--each bite focusing on a different taste profile--plus cucumber-sauced mushrooms and a grounding Bodhi Buddha soup. Rich matsutake mushrooms and sweet-and-sour riblets followed, paired with bowl-steamed rice and noodles, before finishing with a refreshing sweet potato dessert. Service is smooth. Our server, Hannah, paced the courses briskly and professionally, perfect since we had a show afterward. Still, block out at least an hour and a half to truly enjoy the thoughtfully curated meal. The space is fully wheelchair friendly with wide pathways. Because it is strictly reservation-only, plan ahead. It works beautifully for celebrations or a romantic evening.

There's a camaraderie in the room that invites you to slow down, connect, and truly experience both the conversation and the food. Everything feels considered. My best friend and I each ordered the prix fixe menu, and it was a journey from start to finish. I began with the Spicy Corn & Coconut Soup--honestly, unforgettable. The crispy shallots added just the right amount of texture against the velvety base, and each spoonful layered flavor in a way that felt both comforting and elevated. For my main, I had the kichuri, and Chef Alex Guzman absolutely shines here. He is a star--full stop. There's a clarity and confidence in his cooking that you can taste. The cilantro chutney was perfection, and the way the mint lingers alongside the spice... it's the kind of balance that only comes from someone who truly understands their craft.
