Had food catered by them at an event a while back and am just now getting around to the review. Some of it was pretty tasty, but there were no heating elements so it was just food in pans and when it got cold or became cooked/dried in the sun... that was all she wrote. The crew is super friendly. The people are awesome too. Just saw a lady bring a phone out of the RR where it was left and leave it with the bar staff, little things but they add up. This one def has a different vibe (same Grateful Dead different area) as we all know each neighborhood in Denver has. Every time I come back here, I like it less. Used to LOVE the Highlands location, it was the only place I'd get wings in Denver. Lately the wing prices have become cost prohibitive (yes I know the wholesale price of wings went up for a bit but it came back down) and the wings themselves are downright tiny (yeah I get they don't have hormones or whatever but these can sometimes be teeny tiny). But more annoying is the hybrid ordering model. You cant have a hostess seat me, then have a Toast QR code at each table, then expect me to know to go order at the counter like it's fast casual, then expect me to tip, and have any of this make sense to me. Drop the wing prices and pick fast causal or sit-down, and things will be so much better. read more

When you walk you wait to be seated, and then you can order in line whenever you are ready which I liked a lot. You still have "servers" walking around to help clear tables and order drinks if you want but it's mostly self service with drinks and ordering food. The staff is great. The lady I ordered from is so kind and nice. They also have specials behind the bar that you can see and order if you want to try something different from the menu. I ordered nine wings and you can split between flavors which is great. Why this isn't a 5 though, the wings were cold. It was so disappointing. The sauce was just poured on top and there was literally so much it was soaking through the paper in the baskets. We also ordered fries those were hot and had a great flavor so I would surly recommend. We have been here several times for the amazing wings and beer on tap. The beers change frequently and are deliciously cold. They have many wing flavors. They are a bit smaller because the chickens are raised with less chemicals. I think they are just right. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable with several seating options. The patio is very nice, too. Parking can be a challenge. Restrooms are clean. Staff is friendly and helpful with all the beer choices. They have a full bar but we always get the beer. I love that they compost all they can. They have gluten free options. And, we learned on our last visit you can mix sauces. I've heard great things about Fire on the mountain but wasn't sure what to expect. Let me start by it was amazing!!! The main thing that I enjoyed about them is that they are vegetarian friendly so everyone can eat here. When you walk in you are instantly greeted and seated. When you are ready you can make your way to the front and order. They have so many options that it can be overwhelming. If you're not sure in what sauce you want to try, they have them at the front for you to try. They also have tator tots on the menu which was a nice change. HIghly recommend if you want some good wings. A big plus is if you are a sports fan they have TVs everywhere so you won't miss the big game. read more

As a Denver local and in the midst of all small business taking a hit, I decided to show my support and order food from FOTM. Menu looked amazing. I ordered for 3 people (house salad w seitan meat, jerk chicken salad and a burger w a side of onion rings for an additional $3.50). Food was ready on time, no problem. When we arrived home and got ready to eat my burger w a side of onion rings was ok. I was expecting more than 4 onion rings for an extra $3.50. And those onion rings were delicious!!! My mom's side salad w seitan meat was SAD SAD SAD. The meat looked like it was burnt. See pictures. I felt so bad after spending almost $50 including tip, when we could've just gone across the street to Chipotle. Know that a call and message was left prior to writing this review. My platter was the tenders and they were great. The onion rings were not my favorite the onions were pretty burnt inside and dry. The traditional wing plate had very tiny wings I've never seen them this small. If we come back we know now to just order the tenders to get more for your buck! read more

After waiting 30 minutes my wings came out cold, and I asked the bar tender if they could be heated up and right after he said no, another bar tender said 'absolutely' and put in a complmentary order to fix it. $32 for 12 wings and a beer. Really good flavor but the wings are so small for the price. There has got to be a place where you can get good wings and a beer for under $20. Decided to order to go today since the wait was 45+ mins and the order out was only 15-20 minutes. Ended up ordering 27 wings, fried pickles, sweet potato fries and it came to $46.50 which is pretty expensive compared to other wings spots that I like but it definitely makes sense. I love this place. The best wings I have had in Denver. I eat from here probably once a week either for take out or dine it. My first time I ate here I had the chicken wings and they were so juicy and tender! I believe all their chicken is organic. But after the first time, my girlfriend and I have always gotten the seitan wings see we are vegan 90% of the time so this place has a great menu for this looking to be vegetarian/vegan at a wings place. Their sauces are also so tasty and they don't hold back. I haven't tried a dry rub in the seitan as I don't see that tasting very good with the texture. I love trying their sauce of the month but wish they would offer that as a regularly choice in the future. Or maybe even a secret menu item... my girlfriend and I will split 12 seitan wings since they are pretty heavy and will share a basket of the house fries which are so delicious! My other favorite thing about this place is the draft beer. If I dine in, it will be on Mondays when they have $4 drafts all day. I have discovered so many different beers from Colorado but also across the country. I use untapped and log in all my beers and they always have a great variety that scores very high. My only complaint is the consistency. Since I have eaten here so often, I have noticed that the wings aren't always cooked the same way. Sometimes they're too crispy, sometimes the portions of the sauce are off. One time I ordered seitan wings to go and had to come back to the store after i opened the order in my house to find that the wings were so charred they weren't edible. We ordered wings to go, which took about 15 minutes to wait for. When you are ordering, the dipping sauces are set out on the counter with pretzel sticks for you to try the flavors to ensure you're happy with your choice. There are 12 options from sweet BBQ and Bourbon Chipotle to Cajun dry rub and Jamaican Jerk. I loved the mild. My husband tried the hot buffalo and El Jefe, which after eating the hot and three of the El Jefe he had to stop. This is the kid who eats ghost peppers for fun... Try at your own risk! (If you feel so inclined, there is an El Jefe Challenge you can try your luck at). You get one sauce per 6 wings and can order up to 250 wings (for $240). The best value starts at 18 wings for $18 and then they become less than a dollar per wing after that. Up to 12 wings you're paying slightly over a dollar per wing. (6 for $6.50, 9 for $9.50, 12 for $12.50). Not a bone-in wing kinda person? Try their boneless, seitan, or cauliflower wings! Don't want wings? They have apps, salads, sandwiches and burgers as well. At this time, FOTM does not do delivery, but you can call ahead for pick up. We love FOTM so much. Every single thing we have ever ordered has been delicious. They are known for their wings, but there is something for everyone here, even vegans. We aren't going out at all these days, but placed a takeout order after my doctor's appointment because we heard they were doing a great job masking and sanitizing. My daughter ordered the seitan lunch basket with sweet BBQ sauce, fries, and Apple juice. She said it was all yummy. Hubs ordered wings in Parmesan, Medium, and Peanut--all perfect, and the boneless wings (which are really chicken strips). I ordered the nachos and had planned to not share them, but they are such a generous portion that my hubs was able to get some. We also always order chips and Queso (yes, even with the nachos). Their sandwiches are also noteworthy. The only thing we haven't tried is their salads and chili, so I can't speak to those. Some of the staff need go back or to an 8 week boot camp on how to wait on customers and learn their own menu. Attention to detail was non-existent. The waitress was oblivious to the most basic questions regarding drink options or alternatives. Didn't ask how to prepare the burger, which is apparently well done, and crispy is stanard. Assumed part of the order was an app vs. part of the main dish. Walked by at least three times and stared directly at our table without asking if we needed another drink or anything for that matter. The list goes on. Keep in mind that this place was not busy at the time. Rude or entitled... I enjoyed the flavor of the wings, but they lacked protein. You would think cage free and running amuck they would be more buff? Overall, it's not bad. Just get rid of dead weight. read more

Unfortunately I didn't have the greatest experience though when I stopped in to place a to-go order around 1:00. It took 20 minutes for one sandwich and 6 seitan wings (to be fair, the sign said 15-20 minutes), which wouldn't have been a big deal...but the order came out wrong, causing it to take even longer. I ordered a sandwich and 6 seitan wings. When I got to my car I checked it, and the sandwich was completely wrong. I peeked into the wings box and it looked fine. So I took the sandwich back and they made me the correct one. What I didn't realize until much later is that they failed to give me any celery. It's usually underneath the foil in the box, which is why I was unaware it was missing until much later when I went to eat it. Not the best visit, but I will still return (if I can find parking! There are a few spots, but if they're full, spots are pretty scarce in the area). I'll be back once it's been open longer and hopefully running more smoothly. read more

I've been a fan of FOTM for years now, at their Highlands location, so I was happy to finally try out the new location here in Wash Park! I loved it! As I've stated before when trying out wing places.. The wing snob in me being from Buffalo NY, it's real y'all. And again, FOTM didn't disappoint! We were greeted right away and seated at a booth while checking out the menu (which you can see on your phone or up at the counter). We ordered mild Buffalo and Garlic Parmesan wings, crispy. Also ordered a medium fry to share. We got our drinks and sat back down and the food all came out quite quickly. I loved the garlic parm! I've never ventured away from a traditional Buffalo flavored wing before and I was glad I did. And the fries were super yum. My hubby didn't think the wings were crispy enough( but I thought so)and they gave us all ranch instead of bleu cheese. I still enjoyed the meal though! Only downfall is what others stated- kinda pricy for small wings. Us Buffalonians are very much not used to that when we have .25-.50 cent wing nights and here you pay $15 for 12 small wings..a little crazy. I honestly used to be a huge fan of fire on the mountain a few years ago. I still personally think they have amazing fries and wing flavors. There's been 2 separate occasions I have dined here and there has been feathers still on my chicken, after being tossed in sauce and everything!!! Last summer it happened and I didn't go back for a while but this past week my friend suggested it so we went. This time there was another piece of chicken with feathers still on, luckily I saw it before I bit into it, since now I have PTSD from biting into the feathered chicken wing the last time at this same location. I find it extremely hard to believe that the cooks are not seeing this. It's pretty evident that they do not do a very good job at washing/cleaning their chicken if they even clean it at all. This place was great! Came in for a few beers and wings the first night of indoor dinning reopened. It had a great vibe and the chalk work was awesome. It's counter service but the staff walks around and asks you if you need anything which was great. Mondays is $4pints which you can't beat that! We ordered 9wings two flavors the spicy peanut and the X Hot which were both so delicious and tasty. The guy that helped us was super friendly and had all great recommendations he even gave us a side of "el jefe" to try which is their spiciest sauce. The wings were perfect and crispy.
