My car broke down yesterday around 5 pm and I had it towed to this Firestone. Around 9 am the next morning they called me and told me my ignition coil was bad, a cylinder misfired, and that I needed to change my sparks plugs. Andre and his colleagues were VERY nice, very professional, and caring of my concerns. When I picked my car up they even had the old/bad parts waiting for me incase I wanted to see what they replaced and why. I was honestly taken back by that because I've never had a shop do this without me asking. Although I didn't really care to see them, it makes me believe they are that more honest. We were considering buying a car and had the car owner meet us at this firestone 3 weeks ago, and of course paid, to have the car looked at before we bought. They told us the car was well maintained and had no problems except for a fog light. We bought the car, now 3 weeks later the car is in the shop with a broken axle, completely broken, stuck in drive, and the transmission mounts broke. Had been having some issues with my car shaking pretty rough the last week or so. Decided to take it in to see what it was all about and had been hesitant to take it to a dealership because of all the extras they try to tack on. Walking into this place I was greeted by the manager Justin. Guy was very friendly and courteous. He took a look at my car and was able to diagnose my car within an hour about what he thought the issues were. Needed some tires and a realignment. After having him work on my car he was able to not only fix the problem but was very honest with the repairs and the time frames in which he felt the other things needed to be done by. My 7 year old pathfinder drives like new now and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg and because of his honesty I'll now be taking my car to him in the future since he's gained my trust which in this day and age is hard to find with mechanics. read more

I had my brakes serviced there a month ago and had to bring my car back in because the brakes wouldn't stop squeaking after the service. Squeaks happen sometimes during routine brake work but here is why I won't take my car back - both times, the shop did not put the valve caps back on my tires after airing them up. While this is a small item (incredibly irritating nonetheless), it demonstrates to me a lack of attention to detail. This place happened to be the first, and they quoted me something that was waaaay out of my budget. I went to the second place and they told me something totally different. Have been going here for awhile now but only for oil changes. Recently went here to get my brakes inspected. They told me it would cost me $1,200! I felt that was way too much so I went and checked other places. Sears did it for me for $500 and didn't mention any "new" things that I had to replace that the guy at Firestone insisted I needed to purchase. We took our car here for an oil change and inspection. We were told our tires were completely warn out (dangerous to drive on) and rotors needed replaced. The estimate was over $700 for brakes, around $1100 total. Because the bill was so high, we decided to have our Lexus dealership handle the repairs. We were even nervous driving to the dealership because we believed it was so bad! Lexus reported our brakes are fine with over 40% left. We certainly didn't need rotors.. Bad experience. read more

I have been here 3 times previously for my other car. I have brought my Jetta here twice with no issue. However, after an oil change at the end of May, I noticed an oil leak in my driveway a few weeks later. I returned from vacation few weeks ago and noticed oil still leaking so I brought it back to firestone last week. They checked it and said they tightened everything and changed the oil filter. It still leaked so I brought it to Volks and they said that the oil drain plug wasn't secured properly because of an incorrect sealing washer being used. This simple issue should have been fixed by firestone during the check. They claimed everything was on correctly but it was not. They did a poor job not once but twice. If they fixed it during the check I probably would've been more forgiving. I'm sad I will now have to drive an extra 20 minutes down to the dealership so I can get reliable service. Also, they keep recommending us to come back every 3-5k miles instead of 10k(newer cars) like Volks says; what an outdated suggestion. For the less car savvy people who are unaware and ask a supposed expert, this is like being scammed. read more

I brought my car in for service into this "service" center for a scheduled service where they knew they would need a particular part. Drop off was 7:15am - picked was supposed to be 4pm and it ended up being 8pm. I've had this happen to me not simply numerous times at this location (Rainbow & Warm Springs in Las Vegas) but every single time. There is no reason whatsoever to drop a car off and leave it because the calculation from their point of view is that they won't start the work until the end of the day. That's what I want - a mechanic rushing to finish because they're trying to get out there as well. After this time I will have learned my lesson, and it is too bad because it is actually conveniently located. Neither of my cars will see Firestone again. read more

The most dishonest auto repair place I have been to. Took my car there for a check up, since my wheel was shaking a bit. They tell me my front passenger bearing is bad and needs to be replaced for almost $900. Of course I said no. Next morning, I purchase the wheel bearing and take it to my mechanic 30 minutes away. He looks at my wheel and tires and said there is absolutely nothing wrong with any of the wheel bearings. I still had to pay him $150 for the time and diagnosis. I already called firestone corporate and filed complaint but o response back. I will never take my car to any firestone ever again. read more

Oil change and tire rotation Service...I know everyone makes mistakes BUT on my tire rotation they put directional tires going the wrong way. There is big arrows and words on the tires saying "Rotation" with a directional arrow. Took it back immediately and they fixed it, no charge but also no offer of a refund for lack of attention to detail. So, if they missed big words and arrows what else did they miss? Lug nut tight? In maintenance attention to detail is huge you can't let it down because it could mean lives. read more

I cant stand places like this some times. Im sure they are good for those that come in and dont know much about their vehicle and simple want their car fixed at whatever cost. But for those that wrench ourselves and need the assistance of someone with tools we may not have in our home garage its terrible. I brought down a shock removed from my vehicle with stripped threads on the top. I ask the adviser if he can have a tech put a new thread on top of that for me and the response was "i cant do anything with that". I proceed to go to Auto Zone borrow their tap/die kit and slap a thread on it myself in less than 5 minutes. Even if you dont put the "work order" or whatever in your system to charge me im sure your tech would like to earn a $20 or so tip for 2 minutes of work. I recently had some issues with my truck not starting. I was sick when I took my truck to the Firestone on Rainbow. The guys there were really nice. They listened while I explained the issues. They even gave me a ride back home, so I didn't have to suffer while they looked at the truck. Even though, they couldn't find the source of the problem the first time, they were still very nice and helpful. About two weeks later my truck died again and even though I was across the street from a Firestone, I had my truck towed back to them. Once again the guys were helpful. They were able to diagnose the issue and within a reasonable amount of time replace my fuel pump. The techs even took the time to explain the issues to me. I don't feel like they tried to up sell me or get me to do work that didn't need to be done. I was very happy with the friendly service that I received. read more

So I've been to this location a couple times for oil changes and that has all seemed fine. I went in a couple weeks ago (on the weekend) because my tire light was on, and I also wanted to have the brakes checked. The service on check-in was pleasant and quick. When they called, they said the brakes were fine (yay!) but the tire light was on because there was a nail in my tire, and it was not repairable. They said they could put a new tire on for $189 out the door. This struck me as a little high, so I said I'd grab the car and do a little shopping around for a tire. I called the Discount Tire Supply on Blue Diamond, who had done well by a family member last year, and they said they could put a comparable tire on for $130. Great. Come to find out, they can't find any nail in the tire (?), but they did find the puncture. Kicker is, it was completely repairable. They fixed it up in about 25 minutes, and sent me on my way - for free. I'm stopping short of a 1 star review because this could have been just one guy at Firestone trying to manufacture some extra business, or it could have been an honest error on diagnosing the problem. Either way, it's hard to trust them now, and the other business has won a customer. read more

Brought my SUV there for tire work. Asian guy there (a wanna be salesman) told me it would take one hour to get done. Two and a half hours later my SUV was still sitting in the same spot I parked it. When he saw me being frustrated, he told another worker to go ahead and park it in the bay. By that time the trust was not all there for me to even have them work on it. Took the keys, went to Big O Tires Guy there told me I'll be out in less than one hour, and guess what? I was done and out of there in less than one hour... Moral of the story here is, you tell a customer something, you do it. You don't, two things happen: 1.You lose that customer's business for good 2.You get slammed on the Net... I would only recommend this place to someone that loves to get their time waisted. read more

Just came in for a simple diagnostic on our 99 Honda Accord almost right as they opened. Mark Anderson took our information about what was wrong and let us know it might be awhile before they could get to the diagnostic. We packed up the kids and were going to head to egg works when he let us know it would be a shorter wait than he had originally thought as another diagnostician (is that what they're called?) had just arrived. We walked to get some food and came back and sat down. He called me by name as soon as he was done helping a customer and let me know they had just finished and he was about to call me when we arrived. He gave out a short list or additional problems we had going on with the car (none of which I felt were bogus or made up as I have felt at other mechanics) he also let us know the problem we had was our starter and gave us an invoice of the cost to repair what we had come in for and what the other items would cost as well (starter, ignition switch, wiper blades) and the labor associated, we took a minute to do some research and decide what to do and decided not to have the maintenance done there ($112 on labor and $200 on the starter, which was at autozone for 139.99 and had plenty of how to videos explaining how to do it that were 30 minutes long) we let him know we were just going to go that route and he was very respectable in the manner that he let us go with out decision he was not insistent or pushy at all which would have easily turned this into a 3 star review we left with around $100 for the diagnostic and had great customer service from Mark Anderson. All in all I give Mark 5 stars for his great customer service and respectable attitude. Firestone I would give a 3 because I could literally walk 5 minutes to auto zone and get the part brand new 179.99 or remanufactured for 139.99 and still get a core charge refund. Way too much of a mark up for me and labor being around $200 an hour is ridiculous being that a how to video on YouTube could TEACH me how to do it in 30 minutes. Might be a little irrelevant to the review but if it's that simple to do why am I being charged so much for it to be done? read more
