Oh my goodness, this is one of the best cakes I've ever had! (And I'm not really into sweets). A friend brought a couple slices for a gathering, which were amazing. Not only are the cakes beautifully decorated, they are just as delicious. I had the Carrot Cake and Earl Grey Vanilla ($10 each) and I couldn't even decide which one I liked more. The buttercream is so velvety and creamy while the sponge cake is incredibly moist. Also love how strong the flavors are, especially the earl grey which really shined. I'm obsessed with these cake slices. And they're also individually packaged in the cutest boxes --perfect for gift giving.
Some of the most beautifully aesthetic cakes I've ever seen. The carrot cake was so delicious and also has no nuts. The frosting was not too sweet and surprisingly I loved this a lot. The cookie was yummy as well but unfortunately thought it was too greasy. Great service and a small area to sit by the window.
I stopped in here earlier today for a late dessert I had the flourless chocolate cake which was awesome the cream and raspberry was a good call loved it!!. I was originally leaning towards the carrot cake when I walked in but I got the chocolate cake noticing they still had some left!. I can't wait to try the carrot cake though!. Very friendly staff as well!.
Ordered: 8" Lemon Olive Oil Cake with Lavender Swiss Meringue Buttercream (~$140) Aya's take: My 2400th review! From Lucie is creating edible works of art in the shape of cakes. They are truly slices of artistry! These masterpieces are exactly what I was looking for an event I was having and I decided to place an order. The online ordering process is absolutely seamless and might only take longer if you have a custom request. I arrived right around my pickup window time and the cake was ready; I was in & out within 5 minutes. My one complaint was that they put it in a box that didn't close. I wonder if they purposely left it open for air circulation? I don't know. It was for an event that was taking place 6 hours later so we kept it in the fridge and took it out about 1-2 hours before and it was just right. The lavender buttercream was a lot thicker than expected and the lavender was extremely light to taste. The lemon olive oil cake was fantastic as it's not too heavy, too sweet, or too rich. I would absolutely come back to try Lucie's cake slices & cookies and super excited for her success!
Got the chocolate chip cookie and the chocolate stout cake both were so good but not my favorite in the city. I prefer a chewier thicker cookie. The richness and the chocolate of the cookie was great though. The rosemary cream cheese frosting on the chocolate stout cake is really subtle, but still really good and rich. I want to come back and try more and support this woman owned business!!
From Lucie's carrot cake transported me to Lagos, Portugal, where I had the "best carrot cake ever" from a spot named From Alex (!). The similarities are uncanny. It's crazy I found the best carrot cake ever --again --state side and I truly love this so much for me and all of us. You need to experience it too, trust me. This one includes a beautiful stem and is just so damn pretty. Honestly just the creme fraîche alone had me weakkkkk. The most perfect bite. You don't want to eat it all too fast. This is meant to be savored. I saved half for the next day and it tasted just as good. Worth every bit of the $10. Happy the rumors about the best chocolate chip cookie got me here. That was really good too. The sweet to salty to bitter to butter ratio is on point. It packs so many layers for a thin cookie. The chocolate is quality. I was very impressed. Service was sweet and friendly. Loved the aesthetics. No line on a Sunday afternoon but tons of people walked in when I was on my way out. The few tables outside were taken. Thank you, From Lucie. Your baked delicacies are such a gift.
GOAT BAKERY. Seriously though. Best in nyc. We're gluten free but ate everything (carrot cake is next level and indeed gluten free). Such a cute, vibey shop with amazing quality, staff, and owner!!! I've been meaning to come here since it opened, but reviews of long lines and pricey cakes deterred me. I had no intention of getting cake today. In fact, I got off on 1st and 1st with a surprising desire to get cake so I stopped by Redgate but they were out. So I did a quick Yelp search and was reminded that From Lucie still exists in my neighborhood so I decided to finally come! It's a small cute shop. There was no line but had a steady flow of 1-2 ppl coming in around 5-6 pm who watched me struggle to pick btw all the beautiful and delicious sounding cake options. I decided to get a slice of the chocolate cake for the price of 12 dollars. After one bite of the cake, the only thing I could say was "wow." It was decadent. It was moist. It was amazing. I would get again. As I couldn't justify spontaneously spending over 20 dollars on two slices of cakes today, I chose the blueberry fennel loaf over the lemon olive oil. It was interesting. I probably wouldn't get again. I'm excited to come back with people so that I could rationally get the chocolate cake again and try the other cakes on display. read more
This place is so cute and quaint while being absolutely stunning on the inside. The cakes match the vibe as it is part flower shop and they decorate with the most delicate flowers on the baked goods as well as they are a work of art alone. The chocolate cake with espresso buttercream was rich without being too much for a really enjoyable bite to sit outside with and enjoy the surroundings. You have to come try this place, even if you don't get anything you will love the decor! read more

From Lucie is truly wonderful! I stumbled across this bakery while walking home from dinner and it did not disappoint!! I had a slice of the vegan vanilla cake with an orange blossom buttercream and strawberry rose jam which was so delicious! The flavors, the texture, and decoration were beautiful. I shared this with some non-vegan friends and they liked this cake better than the non-vegan lemon cake (although they also enjoyed that one). The portions of the cake slices were amazing! I also loved the cozy atmosphere of the bake shop. I look forward to returning and ordering cakes from here!! One of the best vegan cakes I've had in NYC read more

Unfortunately, I have mixed feelings about the Tik Tok famous From Lucie. I will say though that the little mustard storefront with is adorable. 100% and the cakes are gorgeous, there is no doubt about that at all. I came on a Friday and showed up 15 minutes before open, and there was already a tiny line out the door. Everyone waiting for pretty cakes, love it. Line moved kind of slow, but I think the hold up was probably from indecision because it doesn't take too long to serve slices of cake. I ordered the olive oil cake for myself and the chocolate cake with espresso buttercream for a friend. Olive oil cake was the most dry cake I had ever tasted. Lavender butter cream was also really hard unfortunately, so it was just a pretty subpar cake for the price. On the other hand, the chocolate cake was divine and generously moist. I could not have had two more opposite experiences with the cakes. I'd say definitely skip out on the olive oil cake. Maybe I'll have to come back again and to try different slices! read more
I had been dying to get over to From Lucie's since I heard about the cake shop opening. The cakes look absolutely beautiful, and I love the idea of delicious French cake designed with fresh flowers. Was in the area of the new bake shop, and could not be more thrilled to show my support with the purchase of cake, or cupcake's. The location is a cute, cozy bake shop. I was greeted by two very nice workers in the bake shop. They were super kind, and offered me coffee, or some other beverage. Unfortunately there was not anymore cake, or cupcakes available. Not even a slice. I was so very disappointed, had burned off extra calories excited to try the cake. Even though I did not get to try the cake, if your in the area of the East Village definitely check out this cute bake shop. read more
$13 for a flower topped chocolate espresso cake with salted chocolate buttercream. Pricey! Was it worth it? Yes & no. This and the devils food cake from Claud are probably the best two double chocolate cakes I've ever had. From Luxor creates artful deserts and this decadent cake with crunchy pistachios was all that. The price is on par with deserts at well priced restaurants. Hi here we're a few folks who looked in and audibly balked- when viewing prices this is the east village after all. There is a banana bread for $4 and a chocolate chip cookie that frankly looked mediocre also for $4. No free water and rushed service unlike la Cabra which has a larger footprint.and is friendlier. I would try more but have to say ouch at that price for a non restaurant experience. Btw: no lime Friday at 2ish. read more

I try to come here every time I visit NY! The cake flavors change seasonally, so there's always something new to try. I've had the chocolate cake (pictured) several times, earl grey, blood orange, pear raspberry, and more. They always use fresh flowers and beautiful decor too, so it's both a delicious and aesthetic treat. I'd describe most of the cakes as pretty dense sponge, so if you're more into the light chiffon style this might not be for you. I also just love the vibe of going to From Lucie. The aesthetic is really home-y and warm and the whole street is just really cute. So hard to beat the life aesthetic of strolling with a delicious treat! read more
From Lucie is pricey but the cakes are unique and pretty tasty, so an occasional treat here and there from this place is totally justified in my mind. I ordered the vegan vanilla cake with blackberry jam and Earl grey buttercream frosting and enjoyed it a lot except for one key ingredient- the frosting itself! The texture was hard not creamy and it was just way too cloyingly sweet and this is coming from someone who loves sweets beyond repair. What sucks is I absolutely love Early grey too. I did enjoy the cake itself though but not the frosting which, well, is a key ingredient of the cake. I'd come back to try something else, all things aside. read more

I ordered a carrot cake for my best friend's birthday here and we all loved it! The cake was so moist and delicious. The cream cheese frosting was not too sweet, which I really appreciated. The cake itself was so aesthetic, decorated with various flowers. It looked so pretty in pictures. The cake shop itself is super cute but very small. The employees are all super sweet also. read more

Ordered the gluten free carrot cake for a birthday party. It was so delicious! Everyone loved it. I would recommend picking up the cake the day of your event/ occasion. I picked up mine the evening before and the flower in the middle was too tall so the box could not close. The cake did not fit in the fridge so I had to remove the flower and the next day, it already wilted so I had to toss it :( It was still beautiful without it, but would recommend picking up day of so this isn't an issue!! So lovely and elegant for any occasion. Would order again. read more

But sadly the actual cake did not live about to the hype. Just a chocolate cake that was way over-priced. At least it was pretty and the shop was cute. read more

I heard about this little bakery nestled in the LES all the way from Ireland and I had to visit! Not only does everything on the menu look like a work of art but also tastes so decadent , I tried a piece of Fromage frais carrot cake and it was presented so elegantly, Devine! I'd seen From Lucie cakes everywhere on IG and TT and decided to stop walk over since I was in the area. I came midday on a Friday, and didn't run into too much of a line. I selected the $12 cake with buttercream. The cakes are as beautiful as I expected but the cake was a bit heavier than I expected. As someone who has a bit of a sweet tooth, the buttercream was also very sweet and denser than I expected. Without the buttercream, I felt the cake was actually quite decent and pleasant to eat. I'm going to chalk this up as a palette preference issue for myself. I'd say overall, lovely presentation, lovely atmosphere, and lovely staff, but I'd only really stop by if I were in the area and looking for some type of dessert. read more

had the chance to pick up a beautiful cake for my friend from this location downtown and I was gleefully surprised at the quality of the dessert. The cake itself was on the more pricer side but it's understandable why. The staff here must take the time to bake not only an amazing tasting cake, but then meticulously decorate it with beautiful flowers for a stunning final product. I'd recommend cakes from this business for all your special occasion needs - especially if you want to impress loved ones! read more

Aesthetic, pricy, but yummy - worth a try (at least what I had!) The shop is very small so it's more of a to-go but if you are a party of 3, lucky you. Three stools by the window, kinda cramped seating but they have cute plates if you choose to dine in for the cake. The interior is very lovely too. My friend got the carrot cake with fromage frais. It's about mug size. My first time having carrot cake, I didn't expect it to hit the Asian mom standards of "not too sweet" which is perfect in other words. Of course, the frosting is where the missing sugar is but it's not a sugar bomb and does well in complementing the cake. You can see the bits of carrots in the cake, how healthy this makes me feel. I like how the cake had a bouncy texture, giving it a nice chew, and was not depressingly crumbly. Would I fork nearly $20 with tax? For that size, unlikely but at least it delivered in quality. read more

from lucid has delicious and beautiful cakes. i love how aesthetic the cakes look and the fresh flowers they put on it; you can really tell how much effort goes into each piece. we got the olive oil lemon cake and the carrot cake; both were perfectly moist and not too sweet with a great balance of flavor (the olive oil lemon cake was my favorite). that being said, it is a little pricey but a good way to treat yourself. i definitely want to go back to try the chocolate cake and get the olive oil lemon cake again. read more

I wanted to check this place out because of all the hype surrounding it. I was expecting the cakes to be decent and really got the cake for the aesthetic. Luckily the cakes turned out to be even better than I thought it would be taste-wise. The pear cake was sublime. It matched so well with the raspberry jam in it. The chocolate cake literally melted in my mouth. I expected more from the olive oil cake, it was a bit dry but overall 5/5. The cakes definitely exceeded my expectations. The lines are LONG on weekend so be ready to wait a bit. There also isn't space to sit inside. Just enough seating for 3/4 people. read more
The cakes are really cute and I think that's why they typically have a line out the door! Ive seen a few Instagram reels or TikTok's on it. I went on a Friday around lunch time and thankfully was not met with *the line*. However I have walked past on the weekends and seen *the line*. The store is cute but pretty small. I got the $18 individually-packaged lemon olive cake and it was decorated beautifully and had good flavor. However for its price I don't think it was worth it for the flavor and size. Id probably go back and try the $13 slice though! read more
This was on the top of my to go places during my recent trip to NY. From Lucie is a cute lil cake shop in East Village that's known for their flower-decorated cakes. The desserts are so pretty and aesthetically pleasing that I felt bad eating them. We got this super fluffy chamomile Victoria sponge with a light Swiss meringue butter cream, peach black pepper jam, and tiny daisies on top. The combo was magical, and it was perfectly sweetened (not too sweet ). The slice was shared by two friends and was gone in seconds. The treats are on the pricier side, but I personally think it's worth the try. They are always coming up with new creations, so I will definitely be back! read more

We both thought the cake was massively overpriced and quite disappointing. The cake itself was dry and hard to cut though, and the cream tasted chunky and unhealthy. There are other pretty and yummy cakes in the city available to us and that's what we will do in the future! read more

This is the cutest little bakery. I got the banana bread and the chocolate chip cookie. Both were outstanding. The cookie is like very thin with melted chocolate inside and it's the size of my head lol. I'll have to go back for the cake one day!! read more

I got lucky! I'd heard about the long lines but came by 12:15 on a Sunday hoping for a short wait and that everything wouldn't be sold out. There was ZERO line and 2-3 cakes to choose from. I got the pear raspberry cake, which I loved! It was very dense but it wasn't dry and I loved the pairing of raspberry (bolder) with pear (more subtle). Also, the flowers were a beautiful touch. Unfortunately, this slice was $13. I'd come back and split a slice with a friend! It's dense enough to be shared between 2 people and that helps justify the price read more
