Second time come in here for dinner and the view is really nice. This place is on the upper side of pricey. And the menu is not that Big. But the food is OK. My only knock on this place is the seating. If you're planning out having dinner they will try to sit you on the fire pit, which is not a good place to have dinner. Just giving you a heads up. The House will try to sit here. Just talk to the servers and they will accommodate you better than he does.

Loved the view here and haven't been back for awhile. It got upgraded in outside and the menu. The service could use abit more friendlier since he was not that friendly or attentive as I would hope for. Had to catch him couple of time for ordering (especially when it's not that busy from the beginning). Menu is smaller than I remembered but still varies choices. Foods are okey, nothing special and for the prices, you know you're paying for the views more...and is it worth it? You could bring foods and use the grass area in-front with same view and closer to the water or sideway for free. Drinks are goods, could be better, again with that price. Parking is not free, you can get validated and cost $5 but if there is a cashier at the parking lot. I had to paid $45 for 3.5hrs for it. And they automatically added the service fee 20% (which I would normally give or better) to the bill. Was abit disappointed but with views and weekend, I try not to think much of it.

I have been here several times, including staying at the hotel 2x during the pandemic. I have never eaten anything that wasn't delicious. The atmosphere is amazing - gorgeous water views. The property theme is well represented throughout, including at Fuego. The service is always friendly and professional but sometimes a little slow. I haven't ever had it be unacceptably slow, though, just laid back. I will continue to frequent even when not staying at the hotel. Totally recommend!

I'm going to start out with the positives. This restaurant is beautiful. It's right on the water with fire pits for added ambience. Now for the negatives, we were staying at the Maya Hotel and after a long drive we were ready for a couple drinks. We walked in, found two seats at the bar, sat down and the waiting begun. The bartender finally came over to provide menus and then went MIA for 5ish minutes before he took our drink order. I ordered the margarita and my husband ordered the tropical eclipse. The drinks came out fairly quickly but didn't taste as advertised. The menu listed the margarita as a top shelf with premium tequila, Cointreau, agave and lime but tasted like a premade margarita with not much alcohol. The eclipse was not much better. It just kept getting worse, no chips and salsa and after we got our drinks, we didn't see the bartender for 30 mins. This is not the quality of drinks or service I would expect for at an $18 price point with an auto 20% gratuity added on top. The bill for 2 mediocre drinks was $48, outrageous. I will not be coming back to Fuego and will also be picking a different hotel to stay at as this location is pretty isolated and we often want dinner and drinks when we're in town. Very disappointed!

Absolutely loved dinner at Fuego! The restaurant didn't feel crowded at all! The food was flavorful (loved the generous amount of guac they served us), the service was welcoming and attentive. Plus the ambiance struck between the balance of modern and inviting! Everything came together to create a memorable meal, and we'll definitely be back!

I can speak in my own experience I went last night before going to the queen mary dark harbor as it's down the street And I had been here maybe 15 years ago or so and I had a great experience then And today was same Located inside hotel maya You do get validation of parking which is good but still paid $5 for being there an hour so there's that I guess but going back I had great service overall it was attentive and everyone was nice Forgot to take a pic of the view which included the queen Mary but the tacos we ate where meaty and delicious with flavor Drinks were good and guacamole was too Overall great meal and time and ambience eating outside

Between passings and relocations, our family Christmases are looking different these days, and trying to cobble together a big family holiday like the days of yore is just an exercise in depression - all we see are the faces missing. So my son, his partner, and my BFF have started a new tradition of going to Fuego each Christmas (well, for the past two, anyway), and both times have been great. But really, I'm offering this review because of the nachos. I am not an "appetizers" person, and I am definitely not a nachos person. I mean, they're fine, but not something I often seek out (unless it's 1a, I'm hammered, and Taco Bell is the only thing open). But these nachos... I'm going to dream of them. Big fat spicy jalepenos, and the cheese, omg, the cheese. I mean, seriously, stop what you're doing and go to Fuego and order the nachos. I ordered the salmon as an entree (pictured; I'm also not a food-picture-taker, but this one merited being That Person in the restaurant), and it was similarly excellent - and the serving and its complements were so generous that I was grateful I didn't order a side. They also serve the best margarita I've had this side of Mexico, and their expresso martini (yeah, I'm a BB that way) was the best I've ever had, hands down. If it wasn't $21, I would've had three. Instead I opted for one, and two $18 margs. Ha. Service was fantastic, though I think our server got a little frustrated/confused when after three stops by the table and two rounds of drinks, we still hadn't stopped talking long enough to make our decisions. Finally, I rallied the troops to actually figure it out so that the fourth time he came by, we were ready. But, he was ever patient with us, and super friendly. I wish I'd gotten his name so I could call him out here. ANYWAY. It's a trick getting there - yes, I did end up going over the bridge, after not trusting my nav and remarking to my friend that I was scared of ending up going over the bridge. Then... on the bridge. I HATE driving over bridges, especially that one. It's still a little confusing, even if you aren't dumb like me; you have to wind your way around a little bit, but it's not so difficult that you should avoid going. Parking is validated - or at least, was today. I'd give them five stars, but for my lack of experience on any day that isn't a major US holiday, I feel like I have to err on the side of that lack of experience. Either way, Fuego is awesome. Big hearts to them for a fun afternoon. It's been a minute since I've spent more than an hour in a restaurant, but the only reason we left after three was because my son's newborn finally woke up hungry. :)

Came to fuego located at Hotel Maya. Sat outside by the heaters for dinner, nice view of the water and lights, food was good definitely the portion for ceviche was larger than I expected. I asked for a half order of the fuego guacamole so they got me a side and 3 Skirt steak tacos. I was beyond stuffed. Just came off a 5hr flight and I acted like I have never eaten. I cannot complain about the food the past pictures made me worried but it looks like they've stepped up their game since some of the previous pictures I saw in the yelp reviews. Ceviche was yummy ate it all with no Chips. Food service was quick, food was good, prices are not cheap but it's the convenience of getting to your hotel and knowing you don't have to drive, catch a cab or find a restaurant after a long day. Walked the back of the hotel to my room and took in more of the site. Next day ordered room service by Fuego. Generous sized burrito with lots of condiment choices, juicy cantaloupe was the perfect pairing and a nice size glass of orange juice for the price.

If you are looking for a place that has nice views then Fuego is the spot. I had a nice refreshing drink with some chicken tacos. They were good, but they weren't hot just warm. The service was ok as it was busy. The place has lots of seating and views are great wherever you sit. I would come back fs.

My wife and I were staying at Maya which is connected to Fuego. It is traditional Mexican food with lots of flavor. They do have other options to choose from but it is limited. The burger did look good from a table across from us. Nachos are loaded up. Service was excellent as we sat down and were eating within 10-15 minutes. The selling point for us is the view we appreciated while dinning outside. Overall a great atmosphere if you are looking for Mexican food.

Yum!! We stayed at Hotel Maya for a night & got this for dinner. I got the skirt steak tacos & a just peachy mocktail, both were very good! The mocktail didn't really have a peach flavor though. The tacos were great- the steak was tender & they were loaded! Service was great, we encountered a couple servers & all were very friendly & helpful. We went about 4pm so it wasn't the full menu but they had good options regardless. If we're ever back in Long Beach, we will definitely eat here again.

Perfect day in Long Beach for a margarita and some feel-good Mexican food. No wait when we arrived. The vibe? Super chill. It struck that perfect balance between family-friendly and date-night romantic. The fish taco was missing that kick until we had a bite of the spicy pepper. Margarita was crafted well. The atmosphere was just right sunny, breezy, and relaxed. Bring your parking validation ticket and you'll only pay $5.

Well I have to say that Fuego has definitely improved. The food was amazing this time. Service was good and the ambiance was amazing as usual. On a special note, you have to try the crab cakes. They were spectacular !

No, not anymore. They stopped offering hookah during COVID.

Incredible knowledge and ingredients but not snooty patootie. Super inclusive and fun, with cool popups and events happening all the time. It's a full bar so you can get any cocktail you would normally order if you're keeping it simple, or beer, wine, boilermakers, etc. There's a span of offerings and price points, so something for everyone. It's clear the owners put a lot of thought and creativity into making their cocktails the centerpiece of the experience. That said, the execution didn't live up to the concept. The menu appears to rotate regularly, and while the drinks were certainly unique, most of the cocktails we tried were hit or miss. At roughly $22 per drink, I expected more balance and refinement. One cocktail started with flavors reminiscent of an Old Fashioned, but after the initial sip, the combination of bitters and fruit syrups created an unpleasant cough syrup like finish. We tried a mocktail as well, and it was mostly ice and soda water, with what seemed like a collection of syrups doing most of the heavy lifting. The drinks were creative, but many of the flavor profiles felt disjointed rather than intentional. The biggest issue, however, was the bar service and sanitation practices. I watched a bartender place a cucumber garnish into a glass using his bare hands, touching the entire garnish in the process. He then continued to take credit cards, cash, and other items before stuffing ice into additional drinks with his bare hands. Whether or not this technically violates health code standards, it certainly wasn't appetizing to watch and left a poor impression. Parking is another challenge. There is no dedicated parking, and unless you get lucky, expect to park several blocks away and walk. Overall, the atmosphere is a lot of fun and the cocktail menu is ambitious, but the drinks didn't justify the price point, and the sanitation concerns were hard to overlook. I wouldn't rush back, especially given the cost and parking difficulties.

We parked in the multi-story parking garage behind Hamburger Mary's. Secret Island is a little over a block away. You can make reservations on OpenTable. It has a bit of a speakeasy entrance, as it is not plainly marked. Look for the staircase going down with greenery around it and the Secret Island sign downstairs. Go right at the bottom of the stairs and there is a little walkway where you see a very cool tiki display. It you stay there long enough, the lights will flash and you will hear thunder. Walk a little further and go through the door to enter. I was blown away by the atmosphere and build. Kudos to Bamboo Ben! It is dimly lit with a ton of cave wall, bamboo, thatch, netting, tiki lights, floats, skulls, tikis, and other décor. The bar is loaded with bottles and looks great with dark blue and green backlighting. The bar top is wood with deep cutouts that are filled with clear epoxy. The booths in the main dining area are little tiki huts and even have clouds overhead. There was great tiki music playing the whole time. A few times an hour a thunderstorm hits. The lights dim, lightning flashes with thunder sound effects, and red lights illuminate cracks in the floor that looks like lava veins. There is also a photo-op "Pele's Throne" which is a big lava rock surrounded chair. We sat at the bar and had the coconut shrimp appetizer ($12). The shrimp were breaded and cooked well, and had a coconut sprinkle on top. The spicy dipping sauce complemented the shrimp well. I started out with the Drunken Monkey (Makers Mark 46, Jamaican rum, banana liqueur, cinnamon, allspice, Angostura bitters, normally $19, $17 during happy hour). It was somewhat bourbon forward with a little funk from the Jamaican rum. I definitely got the cinnamon notes with a little banana and allspice in the background. She started out with the El Capitan Hook (Del Maguey mezcal, pineapple, banana liqueur, Luxardo cherry liqueur, lime, $17, $15 during happy hour). This was smoke forward with light pineapple and banana flavor. I had the Hula burger ($18) which was very good with a lot of different flavors from the various toppings. It came with a decent amount of fries, and was a filling plate. She had the pineapple bowl fried rice and added with BBQ pork ($17 + $5 for pork add-on). It is served in half of a scooped out pineapple and had a good amount of rice with pork and green onions on top. It had a good mix of teriyaki sauce on the rice and BBQ sauce on the pork. Next, I had the Rum Runner (coconut and blended dark rums, banana liqueur, raspberry, grenadine, pineapple, orange, lime, $18, $15 during happy hour). It was very pineapple and coconut forward which overpowered all of the other ingredients. She also had the Let That ManGo (white rhum agricole, coconut, mango, lemon, $18, $16 during happy hour). The primary flavors here were mango with some grassiness from the agricole. We were here from about 6pm to 8pm on a Wednesday night and it was pretty dead with only a few other people in the place the whole time. They do have a stage in the back with live music acts, so it is probably busier when there is entertainment and on weekends. Our first bartender was Alex who was nice but we barely talked with him. Manager Pedro took over the bartender duties later on and we had a great time chatting with him. Service was great from both of them. The drinks are a few dollars above average, but if you come during happy hour, the drinks are several dollars off. Happy hour is currently all day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Sunday, and Thursday through Saturday from 5pm to 8pm. The food was good, the drinks were ok to good, and the atmosphere was great. Normally, this would probably be a one and done, but I really liked the build and would like to come back when it is busier, maybe on a weekend.

In my opinion the pike is really dying out, while this is a specialty bar / tiki bar it was sooo empty. The inside is lovely upon entering and could be a very fun birthday experience or bar experience. The bartender her tonight was not kind at all. My girlfriend and I came in excited, however we were not greeted. Honestly, at first we asked if it was open (looked really dead inside.. like really really empty). He had a snarky comment and we had to stop and glance at each other. The look of "do we leave?". We sat at the bar top, he tossed over some menus, took our order and was really not happiest. It ruined our mood, and our intention was to stay and enjoy a drink or some food. However the atmosphere wasn't welcoming, almost uncomfortable. We only stayed for one drink, and they're all $20 each. Trying to cocktails was nice. I definitely recommend heading to the other tiki bar in Long Beach - better crowd - better service - welcoming. I won't be back nor bringing a friend here unfortunately.

During one drinking session, I think I heard Sonic Reducer three times; that adds an extra star. Before we get off track, let's get back to my opening line; when my life is in shambles, I come to V Room. It's fun, it has great music and things just don't feel as bad here. My last venture to ye olde V, my roommate broke up a fight in the girls room, my friends and I drunkenly sang along to Iggy Pop, and a hipster girl was hoisted out by the straps of her 90s era child's backpack. So, all things considered, my life may be in shambles, but at least I'm not brawling in the girls room. The drinks rule and the bartenders are the BEST.

Acts as if you're the issue for coming to have a drink at "A BAR" . Eye rolls whenever anything was asked for. Went to pay & when the " tip" wasn't up to her par , she made the comment under her breath " why even **** come out cheap f**k?" Why even be a bartender if you're not going to provide a service. You don't get a tip for being terrible at your job. That's not how this works. Management will probably read this & brush it off because she'll have a lame excuse like we were the problem or needy. Nope. She is the problem. Even the regulars mentioned they can't stand when she bartends because her attitude is so terrible. Fix your system please. Get better people.

Our service was very slow and the drinks took a very long time to come out. We were some of the only people in the restaurant, so I can't blame it on being very busy. My girlfriend ordered a mojito and it tasted more like a margarita than anything. Our appetizer was okay but for the price you pay you don't get much. My burrito was decent, nothing to write home about. But you could definitely get a better one in Long Beach for $5 cheaper. My girlfriend ordered a salmon special which was about $30. I've never had a more overcooked piece of fish in my life. When the server asked how our food was I informed her the food was extremely overcooked. She didn't seem to care and there was no offer to find some kind of solution. I wasn't expecting a comped dish or anything special, but a little acknowledgement would have been appreciated. I wouldn't reccomend this place but if you're going to the club there and want food I guess this could be a decent option.

I got the Backyard BBQ burger with tater tots and the Bacon Bleu burger with fries.  Backyard BBQ burger - the onion rings at Sideburns are some of the best in the game, so this was obviously stellar. An indulgent bite and they don't skimp on the bacon or onion rings either. Bacon Bleu burger - this was loaded with bleu cheese! I thought it was awesome, but my friends definitely thought it was a little too much to handle. Definitely order if you love bleu cheese. It was perfectly balanced by the sweet strawberry jam and peppery arugula. If you're looking to cure your hangover before it even starts, head to the Stache. The vibe is chill, with good bartenders and a good movie playing on the projector every night. Food is awesome and served late, which we all know is a rarity around here.
