Huge shoutout to Asfan for the instant VIP treatment at the bar! The vibe here is the ultimate industrial-cute aesthetic. Brooklyn killed it as our server--managing a party of 9 is tough, but she made it look easy. My Filet Mignon was 10/10, but the Medicine Woman cocktail stole the heart of the night. If you like extra añejo and mezcal, you need this drink in your life. 100% coming back for more!"

I made it back to Gaia and it was just a wonderful as last time if mot better. The moody and sexy decor really bring you to a different place. My aunt and I were having dinner just because and ordered quite a few dishes including the crab cake, mussels, Tomahawk steak, truffle fries, creamed spinach and asparagus. Everything was delicious! The service was top tier from management to the hosts. I can't wait to go back with a hot date.

We sat @ the bar for happy hr on a Sunday. We had the whole place to ourselves & this was our first time here. The decor was amazing & so inviting. The bartender was so personable & fun to chat with. By the end of the evening he was like a good friend. We had the calamari, bang bang chicken, steak & tuna tartar. I was not with the chicken or calamari. Both were a bit boring & just like bar food. So far this steak tartar to me is the best in the city beating out the Husky's. The texture was impressive & the flavors of truffle & garlic were spot on. The drink menu is fun & it's a show when you order a smoked old fashioned.

Nice spot! Went for a birthday dinner and everything was tasty. Service was good. Nice vibe inside. Very sexy ambiance. I want to go back for their happy hour as well. We had the shrimp appetizer, Ceasar salad, and beef carpaccio to start. My husband got the burger for dinner and I had the lobster ravioli. Super tasty!!!!! Great portions as well. They don't skimp on what you get. For a cocktail I got the lychee drink and it was soooooooooo good and so easy to drink...dangerous lol. I'll definitely be back!!!

I was excited to come here during Coolinary. I liked that there were 3 choices for the appetizer and entree and that there was both a wine and whiskey pairing to go with the Coolinary options. I enjoyed the wine pairing and my friends like the cocktail and cocktail mocktail they each ordered. Each of us got a different appetizer (I got the crab cake) and we all liked them. We each got the steak. Two of us got the truffle fries and one person got the corn. Unfortunately, all of our steaks were overcooked and tough. The fries were nothing special. I could get better ones at the Pub up the street. My friend that got the corn said it came out cold. Two of us got the cheesecake, which was great, but I wish the slice was bigger. Makes me think they cut a corner because of Coolinary. One person got the tiramisu and she enjoyed it. We were seated in the bar area and got to see lots of bigger parties come in, so I guess this would be a good place for a celebratory gathering. Our server was excellent, but I did knock down the two stars for the entrees. I might come back for a drink, but would go elsewhere if I wanted a steak.

Honestly great steakhouse. Very reasonably priced for the quality and type of restaurant. 10oz filet for $47 that was perfectly cooked, for a filet this size it was definitely worth the money. Started with the burrata which was also a good amount of food. Could definitely be shared by 2 people but not more even though they suggest the appetizers 3 people. The baklava for desert was also very good. The cotton candy tower is definitely not worth the money as but is fun for the spectacle of it all. The weird thing was that they made you close your tab at the bar before being seated in seats of leaving the tab open. And the would not seat the entire party until all the drinks were finished at the bar. Instead of just seating the people who were ready to be seated and the others at the bar could meet them at the table when they were down. They seemed annoyed people were getting drinks at the bar and wanting to bring them to the table. Not sure what that was about.

We celebrated our 8th anniversary at Gaia and honestly, it was an incredible experience from start to finish. They immediately made us feel special. There was a "Happy Anniversary" sign waiting at our table, complimentary champagne, and they even surprised us with free lobster. None of it felt forced or over the top, just thoughtful and genuinely kind. The food was outstanding. The Japanese A5 Wagyu was unreal and cooked perfectly. The crawfish mac and cheese was rich and comforting, the octopus was tender and flavorful, and the French onion soup was one of the best I've had. We also had asparagus, mushrooms, truffle fries, and lamb sliders, and every single dish was solid. No weak links. Dessert was the perfect ending. The pistachio affogato and gingerbread affogato were both creative and really well done. Service was warm, attentive, and effortless. They anticipated what we needed without hovering and truly made our anniversary feel celebrated. Gaia is the kind of place you go for a special moment and leave already planning your next visit. We couldn't have picked a better place to celebrate eight years.

We dinned here on their one-year anniversary party so everything was fun that night! The waiters and managers were happy and celebrating and also giving out free cocktails. What a good time to come here for the first time. I want to start by saying I absolutely loved the art and the style of the restaurant. Whoever designed the space, I give props to. I mean there are fake trees throughout the restaurant. I loved it. They have a 3-course dinner menu with the option to pair with wine or whiskey. You will have to ask for it, because the wait staff did not offer that information to us; we were only handed the regular dinner menu. I ended ordering the 3 courses. And the hubs ordered a la carte. My order was the crab cake, the NY strip, and tiramisu. The hubs got the beef carpaccio and ribeye. The crab cake was incredible. So good that I did not get a pic of it! ah! But it had a great crust on it, no fishy taste, just pure goodness. Now the carpaccio is done table side, which we really enjoyed a lot. I love dinner and a show. So, our waitress basically blends all the ingredients together using utensils, while describing the process, and then she rolls up the meat into the shape of a fruit roll-up. I did really enjoy the flavors; it was a very good carpaccio. And the complimentary bread was warm and amazing. On to the meat. I was not blown away by the steak, I will admit the char on it gave it a little bit of a burnt taste which was not appetizing. So, Definity not the best steak I have ever had. The tiramisu was spot on, very good. Lots of coffee flavors that I absolutely enjoyed. Overall, it was a fun, great attentive service, great value for the 3 courses, tasty apps, one of the BEST artistic vibes, but the steak was not a win.

I had a horrible experience tonight. It was bad enough that I can promise that I'll never be back again. It took 3.5 hours before we were able to leave because the food took so long. We were not even visibly upset or giving the server grief about it so color me confused when Mimi, our server suddenly started arguing with us. The manager was kind and seemingly apologetic but there were still discrepancies with the bill. Four people left the table after waiting over an hour for entrees, however some items were still reflected on the tab. Mimi came over and said a round of drinks and a bottle of water would be on the house. However, all the drinks were on the bill and then to my utter disbelief she rudely stated she never told us that and that 6 of us all misheard her. (We also never got that bottle of water) I don't understand how an issue in the kitchen (which was confirmed by the manager saying she was disappointed in the kitchen that evening) suddenly turned into our server being rude and losing all sense of customer service....so much so that she ran after me outside saying I never signed my tab and then being incorrect about that. This has left a very sour taste in my mouth and I really feel a way about it.

Service and aesthetic were great. The cocktails were very good. Great service at the bar. Went during coolinary and had the coolinary menu. Liked the crab cake and tiramisu the ribeye entree with truffle fries was just okay.

The food, drinks, and atmosphere were wonderful. Brooklyn was absolutely outstanding and provided excellent service!

Reserved for Christmas @8, Wait time was a little long but the bar was in the front, took about 30 to 40 min to get seated by waiter, drinks were good , the food was mehh , octopus starter was fresh , steak was practically raw in the middle as it was medium and lacked flavor just tasted like regular butter, weird taste for a filet and ordered short ribs that came with polenta and the polenta was fried into a cake , very oily and not tasty , ruined the dish which was tender but tasted out of a crock pot with au jus, I just ate the two carrots out of it and server was nice , place was kinda small and the manager I guess was checking tables but was fast wasn't really warm just a quick hope your enjoying your meal , I wouldn't go again given the 350+ bill but I hope they improve

Spaghetti with wagu meatballs- 1 star out of 5

Open late which is what drew us in here. Vibe inside was nice, all staff seemed very friendly. We enjoyed our server Jasmin, who ended up cooking one of our dishes (Gaia special) table side. The food was so so. Here's what we ordered. Mussles- these were our favorite. Very garlicky, I could have drank the broth with a straw it was so good. We did have quite a few that didn't open (dead and unsafe to eat). The kitchen should probably have caught that before ot came out. Made us question the value (4-5 that we couldn't enjoy). Gaia special prepared table side- we ordered for 2 which was 4 small pieces of steak prepared in butter and 'bone marrow'. Only thing here was the bone marrow seemed hallow but other than that the steak was good, well seasoned and prepared. Spaghetti with Wagu meatballs- SKIP THIS if you want a traditional dish. Sauce had an odd, lemon like flavor, maybe sumac. Not inedible but not enjoyable either. The meatballs were salty, rough on the outside and raw in the middle. Sides- potatoes were very good and the spinach was average but ate more like a spinach dip than a side dish. Table bread- awesome. Slight crust on the outside with soft middle. Terrific dipped in the mussle broth. Overall we probably wouldn't come back here with so many local options but again it was late and we were looking for somewhere walkable from our hotel. Probably a 2.5 but I like to round up, especially since server was so awesome.

Words simply cannot express how much I continue to be blown away by the exquisite quality of food,…read morebeverage, service, and uncommon hospitality demonstrated and perfectly executed by this New Orleans establishment. My wife and I visited on our first NoLa trip together about 4 years ago and make it a point to go every time now. Our first time we stopped in for lunch at the bar and had an excellent experience, and decided to return. We came back on the next trip just to grab a drink and a snack before heading down for dinner in the Bywater. The bartender (Chris) gave a bunch of recommendations for places to visit that way, all of which we have done in the past few trips and have loved. But it's this past trip where we were truly blown away. We were in town for JazzFest and after walking back to the French Quarter, we were thinking about food options and decided to take a gamble to see if we could get a seat at the bar or maybe grab a drink for the road before getting food somewhere else. The bar was full when we got there around 8/8:15, but they had a no show and could serve us, as long as we ordered quickly and were ok with the check hitting the table right at 9PM. Given our slightly (perhaps generous) inebriated state from being at the festival all day and being slightly underdressed, we felt this was quite a kind accommodation. With the clear expectations of needing to get our orders in quickly, we wasted no time making a decision on our drinks and a few food options. Despite this need for a quick turn around, at no time did we feel rushed. The food and drinks were absolutely perfect, as they always are. But what impressed us most was the staff. At no point did the hostess or wait staff seem annoyed by us, despite us parachuting in from a music festival and looking like sunburn and poor decisions. By managing expectations on the front end, we never felt rushed despite the need for a quick turn around. They were all lovely, professional, and as cordial as if we were regulars with standing reservations once a week. In terms of atmosphere, it is always perfect: lively and fun for a date night, dinner with friends/family, or just a nice drink before a night out and about. I truly cannot begin to explain how much I love this restaurant and every experience I've had there. The awards and accolades this establishment (a sincere and lofty term Jewel of the South truly deserves) have been awarded are beyond well earned. Restaurants around the country should aspire to provide the quality of food, service, and overall hospitality Jewel of the South provides on a regular basis. It will continue to be our first and foremost recommendation to anyone we know who is going to New Orleans. Bravo! We shall return!

Supposedly…read morereservations were hard to get, but that is because they allot most of the place for walk-ins, so you don't need to put in the effort that I did to book a time a month in advance. We were seated in the upstairs area and tried some of their drinks. We got the Brandy Crusta which is their most popular drink and the Pouvez-Vous Poulet which is a seasonal cocktail. The Brandy Crusta has the cup dipped in sugar with a fairly strong cocktail within. Definitely get this when you are here as that is one of the best Brandy Crustas and is historical. The Pouvez-Vous Poulet is a duck fat washed rum cocktail and is also very delicious. You cannot really go wrong with any cocktail, but definitely order the Brandy Crusta for the true experience here. Though, honestly, while the cocktails are good, it was not as memorable as the other Top 50 Best Bars in the World that I have been to, but I won't dock a star off because of this, since the cocktails and overall experience otherwise were fantastic. Service is good but can be a bit slow, but it is an acceptable tradeoff for a more quiet ambience compared to downstairs.

While the Sazerac wasn't invented here, this is arguably its most iconic home, a place where New Orleans cocktail history comes to life. I would use this version as your gold standard when dining out in New Orleans and looking for a perfect Sazerac. We enjoyed watching bartender Rachel craft each drink. Rye whiskey, Peychaud's Bitters, and sugar are stirred in a small pitcher with ice. The serving glass is chilled, then emptied, and finished with an absinthe rinse along the rim. The cocktail is strained into the glass and topped with a lemon peel. The atmosphere makes the experience even better. The murals, the history, and the energy of the room give it a sense of occasion that you do not get at most bars. That simple move already separated this place from the chaos outside. It's hospitality in its cleanest form: welcome in, take a breath, we got you. Inside is low light and old time apothecary mood, menus like a spellbook, but it's not gimmicky. The bartenders move like they've done the reps. Calm. Precise. No frantic showboating, no syrupy cover ups, no sloppy pours even with the parade energy banging on the door. We ordered two and they were both dead on.
