Food was tasty and was exactly how I expected it to taste, having tried raw Korean marinated crab. The only reason I docked a point is because the shrimp we ordered was not deveined and each set was a little pricey for a single crab. Service was great though! They have a parking lot, but it is shared with different shops, so it does run out.

I had always wanted to try raw marinated crab but was unsure if it would be my thing. It wasn't, but the banchan and great service made for a wonderful experience regardless! I could tell that the food was extremely fresh and well seasoned, and everything was presented so beautifully and with such care. The staff was very friendly and explained the menu for us, and helped make recommendations. The only let down was that they were out of the soy marinated salmon, which my group wanted to try. Overall a great experience and I will be back for the salmon!

I dragged my husband out to this place because I was craving the raw marinated crab, mostly because I wasn't sure if it would be weird going by myself, but honestly? I think I could have just walked in by myself, and it would have been fine! I'm gonna do this next time. My husband is a quantity over quality kinda guy, so when he arrived, he was a bit hesitant about the crab sets (1 crab). He was a bit disappointed initially considering that it was Dine LA, but they had run out of abalone, which was what he was looking forward to. We ordered 1 soy sauce crab set, and 1 spicy crab set, and the marinated salmon, and we also ordered the soba noodles. Service was decent. It did take a while for the dishes to come out in the beginning. I noticed they were timing it so that everyone seemed to get their meals around the same time, regardless of who showed up first. It was 20 minutes before our banchan came out, which for me, was too long. Also, they didn't give us napkins at the table, and we had to ask for it. Overall though, I thought the food was really good. The set comes with an array of banchan, I enjoyed the pancake and seaweed soup! But also the different types of kimchee were refreshing (and refillable). They also use fancy seaweed. The restaurant did a good job of making it feel like it was private with the table screens, but the girls sitting next to us were chatting so loud lol, my husband could barely hear me. I think I will come back though. The pricing at this spot is not bad at all.

This place was on the Dine LA options which is why we decided to try it out. However, after seeing the actual menu we opted out of the Dine LA and just ordered À la Carte. We got: -soy marinated crab set $49 (delicious but for one crab, this was quite pricey) -crab roe noodles $29 (did not like, the flavors get lost in each other and nothing stood out) -soy braised short rib $65 (solid but pricey for what it was) -soy marinated shrimp 3/$9 (my favorite) -soy marinated salmon $18 (recommend) I would give this place a 3.5 if I could---amazing ambiance and service. Food was definitely of high quality and fresh but some dishes were way too pricey for what it was while others were worth it, Overall, worth a try at least once.

Let me preface by saying that my husband and I are picky eaters. We have been around the foodie block for some years, we have eaten and drunk, and we are not easy to please. We scrutinize the food and more importantly, the consistency of the food over a long period, the service, vibe, all the rest. My husband and I have eaten here many times over the last year, and I am only now writing about this amazing place because, well, I normally can't bother to, even for our most favorite of places. 1) The food here, the crab, abalone, shrimp, whatever they put on the table, is consistently the freshest and cleanest you will find anywhere in LA, let alone amongst its competitor restaurants. 2) Best of its kind: in my opinion, this may just be the best version of the korean-style marinated seafood you will find in all of US. 2a) The soy marinaded crab is the perfect balance of savory, sweet and umami. It is not salty or overpowered by one flavor component like some versions can be. This will not fatigue your palate. 2b) The red pepper marinade crab is also superb, in that the marinade is just the perfect amount of spiciness and sweetness while maintaining a lingering note of freshness. This is my husband's first choice. 2c) Abalone bibimbap is, then, just the perfect cherry on top. So much umami and ocean goodness without it being overpowering or causing palate fatigue. So satisfying. 2d) The a-la-carte Seaweed soup with abalone is the ultimate iteration of its kind. Complex, umami, and comforting. 2e) The rice here is my favorite - the ideal version of its kind. You could feel the texture of each grain in the perfect in-between state of cooked and al dente. That level of accentuation of each rice grain is now a requirement for me to enjoy any Korean soy marinade crab and the seaweed soup. I know that not many places can fulfill this level or rice perfection and that I have been spoiled by Gaebang sikdang. Oh, lastly, try the pairing of food with Sang Maggoli drink. It's chef's kiss. 3) I know some people are irked by the price point, but I personally think it is a very reasonable price to pay considering the fact they import only the female crabs of the season from Korea to maintain the quality and consistency. 4) The food quality and flavor profiles here are meticulously consistent, again and again. Consistency is a very hard mandate to fulfill for the majority of restaurants, even for the starred ones. In my opinion, Gaebang Sikdang passes the test of consistency. 5) Service is attentive and friendly. It has a hint of Michelin fine dining vibe. This is a solid place on our list.

This Michelin-rated Korean restaurant really lives up to the hype. They're best known for their soy sauce crab, and it was incredibly delicate, sweet, fresh, and perfectly balanced without being overpowering. They serve it with seaweed and rice so you can make little wraps, which made the whole experience feel fun and interactive. We also ordered the crab roe buckwheat noodles, which were rich and flavorful, plus a side of abalone that was delicious. The salmon bibimbap was another standout dish, it was fresh and well balanced. Everything was nicely presented, and full of flavors. Definitely a place worth coming back to if you enjoy elevated Korean food.

My sister was craving raw marinated crab, and we discovered this had the best option on a Sunday afternoon without a reservation. Indoors, the place looked very clean and modern. We were fortunate to walk in without waiting, and they're accommodating to my dad who has health restrictions. My sister got the soy row marinated bibimbap set, and I got the salmon set. We were impressed by how clean the ingredients were used and how everything tasted fresh. I can't describe the taste of raw marinated crab other than it tasted really good. I highly recommend this to anyone interested, and I recommend the salmon set for those who don't like crab. The server was also very nice and we left the place pretty full + content. I will definitely try to come back, and recommend others to swing here too!

From pop-up to permanent small business in ktown. PARKING I came for a pickup order on Wednesday lunch 12PM. There's a small parking lot with about 3-4 empty parking spots left. I ended up easily finding street parking. Ktown is not the cleanest neighborhood. AMBIANCE Feels very modern, minimalist, and clean. Love it! SERVICE 11/10 Friendly, quick, made me feel valued as a customer. He also packed me cutlery, glove, wet wipe - everything I need to indulge in this meal! FOOD My honest review.. Soy marinated crab was good but definitely on the salty side. There's plenty of rice included. Seaweed soup was delicious, very deep in flavor. 4 small side dishes were ehh pretty flavorless - only the pancake was okay. I would come back if I wanted a nice clean, modern ambiance for girls night and we were craving raw marinated crab.

We were able to book reservation online and with pretty short notice (like a week in advance?) Restaurant is small and skinny. We got very lucky with street parking but they have a lot that also looks competitive. Crab roe noodles was nice and chewy but I felt the crab roe itself was lost in the meal. I had to pick out and eat em on its own to really get even a hint of taste. If only it was a little more flavorful. My husband and I shared two meals of one soy and one spicy crab. This is probably a personal thing but I should stop ordering spicy crab since soy has always been better.. spicy crab nonetheless was delicious but the soy was definitely the star. They source their crab from Korea and get female crabs for max amount of roe. The pancake side dish was also another favorite bite of the meal for me. If I had to wait in line, I would've been upset with the experience to be fairly honest. But it was a good meal overall. Service - 5 / Ambiance - 4 / Food - 3.9 / Price - 3.5

I've been wanting to try this restaurant for their soy marinated crab and they did not disappoint. It was so good! Came here for DINELA and the value was worth it! The customer service was amazing! There's valet parking of $4. I definitely will be coming back!

In the heart of k-town LA. The small plaza has limited parking spaces but we got lucky. The spaces are very tight. Please make a reservation before you go. The indoor only restaurant has a very simple and clean decor. Low volume in ambient music. The waiter patiently explained the different dish and their specialty. Whatever you decide, it will be a good decision. The food was served within timely manner. The seaweed were crafted as I have never seen before. The whole meal was crafted with love and passion, it could be tasted. The taste was rich but was not overwhelming. Everything was excellent, I would return again. This place gets a 5 out of 5!

Tried Gebang Sikdang as it was part of the Resy restaurants in Los Angeles. Wanted to try a raw crab korean restaurant in ktown and amongst all of the options I decided to try Gebang. It is quite on the pricier side of raw crabs as their restaurant is on the fancier side. Had to make a reservation and was seated after checking in with host. Ordered 1 spicy marinated crab / 1 regular crab + side of shrimp. Thought one crab would be enough, but definitely order two depending on your party. The marinated crab and the spicy crab are well seasoned and they have a lot of meat in it. Very tasty and they offer some other side dishes that i'll try next time. Parking is valet only in their lot.

    Soy Marinated Salmon Bibimbap Set
    Willis N.

Best Korean food I ever had so far. The crab roe was melt-in-mouth, mild and sweet, and free of the fishiness of other spots. The soy marinated salmon had so much character and struck a perfect balance that it could honestly be served at an omakase. Each set (hovering $35 ea) comes with an assortment of very premium and unique banchans that you don't normally find at a normal kbbq or tofu house. I was a bit skeptical that kinda price would mainly pay for the Instagramability of the meal, but they do not skimp. The set did not only delivery quality but also quantity. I left the restaurant very full. Service was standard. Our servers were kind and informative. The vibe of the restaurant is a lil cold and grey if you're into that. The cutlery and sets were stunning. Wish they let me take it home lmao. Overall a fantastic find, worth every penny spent. I'll also clarify that the crab roe bibimbap DOES include crab meat, just not as much as the main top special. A great alternative if you want to eat lean/budget friendly/ or not have to work the shell.

With their recommendation, we opted for the Korean marinated crab and small uni to share with 2 adults and one kid.
