Came here for breakfast with my family and we had a great time. The place was clean, spacious, and service was super quick and nice. We got their BBH and it comes in two different sizes --we found that a small was plenty (everyone who got a large was rolling out by the end haha). Their bowls are filled with lots (and a good variety!) of meat. Broth is flavorful and comforting, but if you want extra flavor, they have mam ruoc and chili oil for you. Super yummy and would definitely come back.

Authentic Vietnamese food at its best. If you grew up Vietnamese or are someone who really wants to taste what real Viet food tastes like, then this is a good start! They have a lot of the most popular dishes such as Bún Bò Huế and Bò Lúc Lắc (Vietnamese shaking beef that seared or fried with typically , soy and garlic marinated beef! Super delicious. If you like spice, then they can make your bun bo hue pretty spicy if you want. Parking is decent for this busy street, and the restaurant is on the small to more medium side. Family friendly loud ambience. Service was good. Oh, and they have banh canh here, too.

Ghien Bun Bo. For an Asian spot I thought the service was great. Got us everything we asked for. And I'll say. We pretty demanding. Example extra limes and they brought out a good amount Bbh. It's decent. I did want want bbh flavor but overall it was pretty good. Protein cooked well. Sate on the table Mi Quang also needed more flavor. Wasn't bad. Just not as good as I hoped Next time I'll be back for the banh canh which looked very good.

Was craving some Bun Bo Hue today and decided to try a new spot in the area. The restaurant is located in a strip mall with plenty of parking. Seated right away, didn't have a long line during lunch. Server took the order and a hot bowl of Bun Bo Hue showed up 3 minutes later. The BBH here reminds me of the flavor that my Vietnamese auntie used to make during family gatherings. The broth has strong lemongrass essence and isn't overly rich. If you don't add any condiments, the bowl is good as is. Since it's on the lighter side they provide shrimp paste, satay, fish sauce, chili in fish sauce so can add according to taste. I added a spoonful of satay sauce and it brought the broth to life. Ate some chilis on the side to get some more heat. The meats are all good quality, really enjoy their pork meatball. Service is quick and efficient from ordering to getting the order. Servers were friendly and did a good job. The restaurant was playing some EDM music in the background which was nice, felt lively.

Came here with my family after a local recommended it, and wow, so glad we tried it! We love Vietnamese food, and everything here was incredibly delicious, fresh, and flavorful. The restaurant itself is very clean, spacious, and the service was quick. It has more of a casual, quick-dining feel, but still really comfortable and inviting. I also appreciated how generous they were with the veggies especially the banana leaves, which a lot of places don't even include. It made the experience feel more authentic!! My only small complaint: one of our drinks was about 90% ice and 10% actual drink, which threw off the balance a bit. Definitely recommend if you order a drink day less ice because the ratio is noticeably different. Overall though, it's a great spot and I'll definitely be coming back soon!

A few friends recommended this place, and I wasn't expecting bun bo hue for dinner, but wow, turns out I actually prefer this soup over pho! I'm still on the hunt for my absolute favorite spot, but after visiting this one, it's officially my new go-to for bun bo hue. The flavors are incredible - the blood doesn't taste irony, the meat is super tender, and the broth is absolutely exquisite. My partner tried the Bánh Canh Tôm Cua Huế, and she's now obsessed,it's officially her new favorite Vietnamese soup! This spot feels really special, and if you're in the area, you definitely gotta give it a shot. Trust me, it's worth the visit and I promise, you won't be disappointed! Great service! Ambiance reminds me of Hoi An but its probably more like the town HUE!

I was on my way back home from work, and I was craving some Bun Bo Hue. And this place came really recommended by my fellow yelpers. How can you mess up a bowl, that the restaurant is named after? So after the great reviews, I decided to stop by. The place is bright, clean, and very welcoming. I placed the order to go. And it was $18 for one Bun Bo Hue. But the portion size was very generous, and also a nice amount of vegetables to go. I love that they also give us the shrimp paste with it. As, how would it be authentic without it??! So yah!! :) I would love to come back another time to dine in to try the rest of the menu items. The staff was pretty busy when I got there, but they were still professional and nice. We stumbled upon this spot while hanging out at the Asian Garden Mall in celebration of Lunar New Year with the kids. It was a little chilly so we wanted something warm and soupy. I was also craving Banh Canh (which is like an udon noodle soup) but more than just udon lol it's a special Vietnamese noodle dish that is packed with so much umami flavor! Legit one of the best banh canh I have ever had. This spot was busy with locals and the service is quick and nice! My kids and husband ordered the Bun Bo Hue- which the really like but I think it had too much of that umami flavor (the stinky shrimp paste) that's what my kids call it haha but they really liked it minus that extra smell of the shrimp paste. This was my husband's first and he also felt the same as the kids. Welp, I absolutely enjoyed my dish and I'd come here again with my kids and husband.

Bun bo is msg heavy and lack man ruot flavor. Not only it's okay, but the service is horrible. We sat down to eat and were rushed to order, and forgot to mention water. Food came out, but we had to wave down the waitress to get some water. We will not be back, theres many restaurants out around the area that have better service and good quality food. read more

This is my first time trying Bún Bò at this restaurant as dine in. The restaurant is nice, bright and clean. We were seated just after few minutes. The food came out quickly. I forgot to take the picture of my Bún Bò. The portion is very big and full of meats. The flavors are very tasty. The broth was cleared. The bún was soft enough. I finally found my favorite bun bo in the state!right here at Ghien Bun Bo! Tastes just like the authentic bun bo from Hue. Generous portions with plenty of meat and veggies, clear broth with no red oil (exactly how I like it). This is the central Vietnam bun bo version, not Saigon version. Service is always fast. And don't miss their che dau van, it's amazing and always sells out by midday. Definitely one of my favorite Vietnamese spots in OC if you're into authentic food. read more

The broth is slightly salty, and the bowl is smaller than those found at the noodle shops in Bolsa. The plate is filled with fresh vegetables, the decoration is impressive, and the staff is also cheerful. Overall it's okay. You should eat at many different places to compare. read more

It's hard to come by decent banh canh in OC. My husband and I decided to try it at Ghien Bun Bo and it was delicious!!! The service was fast and the attentive. I was able to meet the owner Joy and she was very welcoming and kind! I appreciate her hospitality. She took her time to ask me how the food is and apologized for the wait! The food was amazing and the service was excellent. The bun bo hue is one of the best I've had so far, really deep-flavored broth and all the different meat pieces were great (the sliced pork hock was a bit chewy, but I didn't mind it that much). Similar to their sister restaurant, Ghien Mi, this place is solid. The broth is flavorful and fragrant. Their menu is limited with three main dishes, but the main attraction is in the restaurant name. I do think they are much better than other long times rival selling a similar item in the area. They only offer one single size bowl. read more

Best bun Bo in town!!! It reminds me the authentic aroma and flavor of bun Bo when I grew up in Vietnam. Restaurant is beautifully decorated w fresh flowers everywhere and great customer service as well. . I like that it isn't spicy on its own, and you can add shrimp paste and chili if you want. I think adding those definitely enhanced the flavor. The broth also wasn't very fishy compared to another famous bun bo hue place I've tried in the SGV. They only give you two pieces of pork blood, but it was cooked well and didn't have any bad smell to it. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of this type of round rice noodle because it gets me full really fast. I do wish the pork knuckle was softer, though. It was pretty hard and not easy to chew. I think my favorite part of the whole bowl was the soup. I'm not sure if cabbage and perilla are part of the usual pairing, but they give you some on the side if you want to add them in. The bone was underwhelming. There wasn't much flavor to it. It was fun to see how big the beef bone was, but there wasn't a lot of meat left on it...mostly collagen. I don't think I would get it again because it was kind of hard to cut the collagen off. They were nice enough to provide sharp scissors and gloves, though. I'm not sure if I would come back, but I do think the broth here is worth a try.

I'm used to the lettuce wraps and never had them as spring rolls, but now I can't imagine not eating them as spring rolls! the flavor and texture of the crepe was amazing and we absolutely housed this dish. Mi Quang - 9/10, also a fantastic dish. The noodles tasted like they were house made and the soup was delicious. Usually some places have a thicker sauce and barely add soup, but here they focused more on the soup, which I ended up liking more!
