Glatt Mart is a good all around kosher supermarket. The selection is big and I recommend especially the butcher department. The open cases have a considerable variety of cuts, and, if it's not there, you can at least ask the guys behind the counter if they have something, although their answer is usually no. Produce has a big turnover so it's generally fresh and sometimes inexpensive. There is a very extensive and good quality dried fruit and nut department on the right after you come in which I highly recommend. My wife and I don't buy prepared food, so I can't comment on that. We've had the sushi, which is okay but nothing special. You don't go to a kosher market to get great sushi anyway. Some of the aisles could be bigger, and the place is a balagan on Fridays. Try going an hour before closing on weeknights instead. I should put that I've never heard anyone say a word against the hashgacha (kosher certification) of Glatt Mart. Prices? it's a kosher market. Best thing I can say is that there are places that are worse. The parking lot is terrible. You're much better off across Wooster Street in the city lot. The meters take credit cards. read more

The management at this place SUCKS! Bunch of liars and arrogant people with no integrity or respect to a customer. As a "Kosher Keeper", I made Glatt Mart as my only grocery place. I am spending $700-1000 a month there. I also shopped there for Passover. When I got home, I realized that I paid $13.00 for Passover Cookies. $13 !!!!! for 1 pound. I called the phone number that was on the invoice, and an Iranian rude lady (how predictable) answered the phone. She of course did not take me seriously and hang up on me after she told me not to call this store ever again! My dad went there to talk to the owner, we think she is one of the owners wife. They were rude as she was, they asked my dad to leave their store and did not want to take the cookies back saying it's a final sale. Even when we said we will turn to the news papers, they didn't care. They stood behind their "fake policy". Horrible people, rip off prices and bad customer service! Shame on them!!! Glatt Mart is an exceptional place for kosher food however not for customer service. Glatt Mart has a lot of really rude children who run up and down the aisles unattended by their ruder parents. Glatt Mart has great deals on Pita Breads and non-organic hummus. If you buy bananas at Glatt Mart they come with a free swarm of fruit gnats. Old women will ask if they can cut in front of you in the checkout line but don't feel bad about saying no. The manager of Glatt Market is an extremely overburden man, often in a yamaka named Mike. Produce at Glatt Market is a lot cheaper anything in the aisle is very expensive but it is kosher if you're looking for it. The sushi at Glatt Market is pretty good but there are two sushi restaurants down the street that you will pay the same amount for better sushi. Don't go to Glatt Mart on a Jewish holiday because it will be very crowded. As a member of the neighborhood Glatt Market is sort of okay and sort of not okay at the same time I have very mixed impressions. The works litter on Wooster street. read more

I have no words for this store. This place is a multicultural all in one kinda store. They've got an awesome wine collection, mixed nuts, candy, dairy products, meat, takeout-you name it and Glatt Mart has it! Besides the fact that the owners are really nice, funny, and helpful - whenever I put in a request for a new product that other stores carry Glatt Mart makes sure to bring it and also at a cheaper price. The workers are great, the produce is fresh, the aisles are clean. Sure there are some persian grannies lazing around but I'm pretty sure they're everywhere. Glatt Mart carries food from Israel, their hallah is actually dough imported from there and baked in Glatt Mart. Their Persian food is pretty awesome too - yeah man cant get past that tadeeg and kebob. Oh and did I forget to mention their SUSHI! Ugh this place is my safe haven I would live there If I could. I must say, I run away from these Kosher markets generally. They are too busy, people are pushy and rude, and the quality of items really do not justify all the low prices. And honestly, most of the time it's not a nice shopping experience. But I actually enjoy going to Glatt Mart. Their meat section is always clean, whether you buy the wrapped meat or custom order on the spot. It looks fresh. The rest of the market is also nice. The prices are decent (cheaper than Ralphs etc). I like going to Glatt Mart. If you shop for Kosher food, it is a great place, it's spacious, clean, and the quality of items is decent. I went to buy Tuna steak filet yesterday, and their tuna steak was not only fresh but also cheaper than most places. I appreciate that. Needless to say, no pushing and shoving. NEVER EVER EVER BUY COLD CUTS FROM THIS STORE. INFACT I"M CHANGING FROM BEING KOSHER TO NON KOSHER BECAUSE OF THIS STORE the person helping with the cold cuts is rude and unhelpful. I asked him to give me Mexican Turkey thinly sliced. Even though he was doing nothing but standing around, he refused and told me to take it from the fridge area. I explained I wanted it thinly sliced and had to bring the manager to make him do it but he still refused. Besides that, the meat is always old and smells by the time you take it home. I have tried a few times and always had the same issue. Not a clean store at all and very rude employees who are running the store extremely unprofessionally. Hopefully they will have a competitor move in nearby and that might make them clean up their act. read more

This is our go-to kosher grocery store. Everything under one roof. Extremely crowded though. Just goes to show how many people like shopping here as they come back for more all the time - including myself. Fresh fish and meat is plentiful. The staff is helpful. Just be careful as you walk through the isles. It's extremely crowded at times. Biggest complaint is the price. They are definitely pricier than all the other stores around. I'm sure they could lower their price and stil turn great profits as they always have. read more

The manager or owner I don't know is a horrible and rude person. My wife went into this store with our SERVICE dog and this guy walks up to her and demands a document as proof that he is one. This is highly illegal. When she told him this was illegal he screamed at her and said that is bullshit and to not waste his time. She left in tears.. I cannot support this kind of business and a manager who screams and bullies women. I'm sure nothing will come from this but people should know. read more

We go here to shop weekly. Staff is helpful and friendly. After years of shopping here, I don't remember having purchased anything that was past the due date as others claim. It's the best stocked kosher market in the neighborhood. Definitely not on the level of a large Ralphs market neither in selection, comfort or service. Glatt mart is a great grocery. They usually have what I need, they have a nice selection, and there's always someone around to help me find what I need, unlike other places. They also have a nice takeout department, and a sushi counter, which is my favorite. Their sushi is a great price for kosher sushi, and it always is fresh and delicious. I go to shop for groceries here when I want to skip getting my produce stolen from my shopping cart at Elat. Definitely a bit pricier than other kosher markets, but they have fresh produce and friendlier staff. The reason that I give this place 3 stars is the parking situation. Glatt Mart has everything you need from protein powder, turkey jerky, fresh produce, pies, cakes and more! They have a great baking section, fine wines and other speciality kosher items that can sometimes be difficult to find. And they have parking in the back. Glatt Mart is very reliable. read more

This is a good little market for specialty items. I usually stop in for a few of the kosher items that you wouldn't find at Wal Mart. However, parking is almost obselete, so be prepared. If you see a bunch of old ladies outside arguing, then you have came to the right place. read more
