Great food store. A tremendous variety of delicious kosher food. The entire store was changed for Passover. It blew my mind.

I come here at least once a week and I get avocados salad meat and sometimes other things... I'm so waiting for them to get Carob back and I love that it was totally addicted no joke addicted but they ran out and every time I go there I asked for it there's never a long wait which is nice and the owner seems like a nice guy. read more

My wife recently purchased groceries from the store. When we came to open and eat the products we purchased within a few days, many of the products were already spoiled. The store management was so rude and defensive when we took the products back to show them. Their treatment of us was horrible, but I am more concerned that other people will get scammed or worse, sick from them selling rotten produce, dairy and meat. read more

There's an interesting balance between Glatt and its next door neighbor, Elat. Basically Glatt is just Elat's slightly higher price, nicer looking neighbor, offering a similar variety/quality produce, meats and packaged food. After a recent trip I will never go back though. 1) They tried to impose a minimum purchase price on my credit card purchase (completely against credit card policies) 2) After i canceled my purchase in lieu of buying a bunch of groceries i didn't need, they proceeded to charge my card for $66.99. Bottom line: DON'T SHOP AT GLATT unless you want FRAUDULENT CHARGES on your CREDIT CARD!!!!! read more

DELICIOUS SHAWARMA!!!! They have the best of the best Shawarma!!! Made by their Chef Ricardo. THE PROBLEM IS THEY DON'T HAVE IT ON DAILY BASIS and when they do it's all gone by 4:00pm - You need to CALL and MAKE SURE it's SHAWARMA ON A SKEWER. (Make sure it's Shawarma on the skewer - because they also serve cut up baked chicken thighs,, don't know why, but they also call it Shawarma, and it isn't ) Grate for family meal, since they sale Shawarma by weight, and you get your pita pack at the store. I used to purchase a lot from this store and send it to my son who is student at university of Irvine.Last Sunday fortunately he was home and when I off load my purchasing he showed me the expired food and told me each time that he had received this type of food more than 50% were expired. Glatt Mart is a little, specialty Kosher market that caters to the Israeli and Persian-Jewish community in this area. I probably would never have had cause to step into such a place, until I moved very close by, and a friend told me that they had great, fresh produce at good prices. Now I go all the time! I get almost all my produce here...the quality is great and I think the prices are great, too. But wait! There's more! The *best* thing I discovered about Glatt Mart is that they carry lots of vegan foods! For a vegan like me, that's just fantastic...saves me a trip to Whole Foods, and some $$$, too! Here's what the carry that's vegan (that I've discovered so far): ~two flavors of Daiya "cheese" ~Tofutti "cream cheese" ~dairy-free sour cream ~multiple flavors and brands of non-dairy ice cream ~non-dairy whipped topping (in the nozzle can...like Reddi Whip, but vegan) ~vegan chocolate chips (regular and mini) ~vegan white chocolate chips (these are so hard to find!) ~whole wheat bread These are just the things I can think of right now. Plus, of course, they have loads of hummus, great veggies & fruits, and a huge section of fresh nuts, with prices that are lower than Trader Joe's. There are also quite a few vegetarian/vegan frozen food items. Basically, it's a little vegan paradise, if you just veer away from the nasty butcher department that's against the back wall ;-) IMPORTANT NOTE! Since this is a Kosher & Orthodox Jewish market, it closes a couple hours before sunset on Friday nights and doesn't open again until Sunday. It tends to get ridiculously busy on Fridays and right before any Jewish holiday, so be advised. read more

This market was recently remodeled and it is refreshingly shopper friendly, esp when compared to nearby markets. I think that they lay out helps to reduce congestion. Alcohol and Produce are in the back and the less needed items are in the front, so there is no crowd in the front blocking your way to what you need. Their produce selection is slightly smaller and slightly more expensive than Elat, but it has fewer people elbowing you and hitting your heals with their carts, so to me its a better option. They have tons of Israeli and Persian products--including Turkish coffees and lots of candies. They also have a really big wine selection and a lot of non-dairy dairy products. They have the biggest selection of hummus in SoCaL, seriously it fills a dairy case and a half. Sabra and more! read more

For a Kosher market this is actually a nice place. They have a nice selection of Kosher meats and veggies. Kosher markets are always a trip because when you enter it feels like you have teleported to another country. They always have some unusual products. It feels a lot cleaner than Elat next door. Also, when Ive been it doesn't seem as hectic and crazy/busy as Elat. I find it hard to do all of my shopping at markets like this but it's a great neighborhood market to run over to to pick up some last minute ingredients for dinner! read more

Glatt mart is awful. Watch out for their sliced bread there is mold ..their chicken stinks..their customer service is terrible.

Absolutely horrible!! On numerous occasions I've bought pre-packaged fruits and vegetables only to find out at home that most of the content is rotten. I'm not sure but think that whatever Passover products they don't sell, they store and bring back the next year. I've not been able to find expiration dates on many of their products. read more

This is the much cleaner though much less exciting version of Elat Market. Will this meet all your Kosher needs? Most likely. Though it will not entertain you nearly as much as going next door. Best place for fresh fish, inexpensive organic veggies, and specialty products (farmers cheese, smoked trout, taramasalata, pickled veggies, etc). Parking is tough in peak hours. I love this place! It has good produce and prices are definitely competitive. It's a local market so the selection isn't great, but then Vons and Ralphs can be incredibly ridiculous because despite their size there really isn't anything worth buying. Let me start by saying that this store has great prices on produce. This is possibly the only thing that saves it. The parking lot leaves you wanting to shoot yourself and is waaaaay more complicated than it needs to be. This kosher market is wonderful. Huge meat, veggies, wine, sweets and kosher products from Israel and from all over the world. The deli is quite good (I find Cambridge farms better to my taste) the salad bar is full with fresh home made salads (try the home made Persian veggie pattie) for any taste, and they also do catering for any size of event. They have a sushi section near the deli (the avocado roll is awsome). They have sweet /savory bakery that's selles cakes breads pastries etc. They also carry imported products as personal and home cleaning, have a large section of traditional Jewish and Persian cooking equipment and have a big vegetable section as well. The wine section is separated in a diffrent room and they always offer special deals on selected wines. Prices aren't cheap and that's the only reason I thought of giving it 4 stars due to this place being a bit pricey and overcrowded at times but than the quality and the quantity and the fact that everything there is Kosher make it worth the extra price. And about the overcrowding... Nothing better than a huge shopping crowd to point on a market ad a recommended one! Parking is available all the time in the attached lot (free) of on the next block meat store lot (free and it's shared parking of those 2 nearby markets ). worth a visit. Enjoy. read more

It's disappointing to see that for years, other people have said that they have purchased products only to have them expire and to then be treated poorly when notifying the store of the issue. We encountered the same issue. About a month ago, I purchased a product from the dairy section. When I opened it 2 days later, it was moldy. I threw it away disappointed but figured it was just a fluke. About two weeks ago, I again purchased something from the dairy department. Again a few days later, we came to open it and moldy again. We took it back to the store. The top of the product was clear, so you don't have to take the seal off the product to open and see the mold. We left the seal on and took the product back to the store with the receipt in hand. The store owner was so rude and refused to provide any refund or acknowledge an issue. He suggested that the item could have been purchased from a different store. Logically, why would I buy the same item from another store and from this store within the same time period and try to pass it off that way. What made matters far worse was, when I got to the store to return it I looked at the expiration date. The expiration date was November of 2015!!! When I first purchased I noticed November but did not pay attention to the year! It was completely unfathomable that a store would sell a product from the year prior. I can only deduce that this store likely saves products that it does not sell then freezes it and then sells it later. This could have made us very ill if we had consumed it. What they do is shameful, and again, just so unbelievable that people have been sharing that they have had similar experiences for years with the store still continuing to risk the health of their clients. This store should not be in business. And as other yelpers have cautioned before me, if you do purchase here, only do so with products that have clear expirations dates and with products and expiration dates you have thoroughly examined. read more

Great kosher food, I come in all the time to get ready for my weekly food preparations.

Young woman ringing me up was too busy chatting with her coworker to even acknowledge me. I had to interrupt her to inquire about the discount the manager usually gives me (same as their 'Club Card' savings). She cut me off, saying, 'Well you'll have to ask him! That has nothing to do with me!' I waited until she handed me my receipt and said, 'Actually, it has everything to do with you. It's your job to clear it with him, then enter it into the register.' And she argued with me!!! 'No! It's NOT my job!' Un-be-lievable!!!! What is wrong with people?! Apparently, at least in that part of LA, the customer is NEVER right!!! read more
