The food is here is really good. My friend and I ordered beignets which were so good we ordered more! I got the French Toast and egg breakfast with a side of Mac and Cheese which were a 10/10. I also ordered the Passion Fruit mimosa which was just right in terms of the amount of alcohol. The server was very attentive and was present when we needed her. There was an hour wait since we went there around 12:30 but it was worth it ... if only you can make reservations ahead of time. It was a little warm inside but otherwise the inside of the restaurant was nice. There was music playing in the background which allowed for normal volume conversation. I will be adding this place to my list of repeats. read more

The food may take a little while to come out but it's nice and fresh just how I like it. The food is also really good. More importantly, the customer service is great. I typically experience the opposite at brunch spot in ATL so this means a lot to me. Valet is only $7. I can't complain. Good food, service good, family friendly, very thing is great. What a horrible Experience I had at grits and eggs, first of all it took them 30 min to seat my wife and I and while I was waiting to be seated I saw other larger parties being seated that came after I did and they don't take reservations. After I was seated at the bar my and I proceed to order our breakfast with the bartender. She bought over our cups of coffee and the we proceeded to wait one hour and thirty min for eggs waffles pancakes and turkey bacon I spoke with the manager about the wait and the best thing he could tell me is " We all cant be perfect all the time" .... read more

We were in the area for an appointment and decided to try Grits and Eggs for breakfast. We arrived shortly before they opened, so we were seated immediately. Everything was too notch. The decor is beautiful; the restaurant was spotless. Our server was personable and gave us a rundown of the menu. As for the food, our items were some of the best breakfast items we've had. We started with the beignets--soft, fluffy, and flavorful. For entrees, my husband had the catfish and grits while I went with the chicken and waffles. Both were amazing. Visited on Saturday morning. Go early! It got busy around 9:00. Our server Shemar was very attentive to taking our order .....all while bartending as well!!! Although I didn't get Grits some of my companions did ( I tried my wife's ....really good and I don't like grits...lol) I had a chicken biscuit which was really good and filling. Exquisite. The eggs were scrambled moist and deliciously . The fried chicken was the best I have ever had. The cappuccino was sweet and creamy and the toast was extra thick, Texas style. This place is so good! Very quite no lit brunch. They have piano playing for Sunday brunch. Go early (when they first open or hour after) there is no reservations and wait can be up to 2hrs. I went for Father's Day. Everything we had was so good. The waiter was so helpful and nice. The biscuits was so fresh and fluffy. The eggs where made to perfection. Will definitely go back to try the lobster! The place is small and decor is basic but the food speaks for its self! read more

Excellent service but the food was a 5/20 at best. Love the drink options especially being able to customize my latte. French toast was burned. Potatoes were not fully cooked. I ate here twice, the food is super average but the place is cool so it's mostly hype. We also went on Saturday after reserving 45 min in advance, they told us we needed to wait an additional hour, it wasn't worst the wait, it took us 30 min to leave the front driveway. read more

Three words: I'll be back! The food was amazing but the service was even better which is exactly how it should be. Ended up seating at the bar and had the pleasure of being served by "Shemar At The Bar" who knows the menu inside and out as well as the Atlanta food scene in general. His service was absolutely phenomenal and such a joy to speak to. Let's get into the beignets. I forgot to take a picture so that should tell you how great they were. Soft, flaky, buttery, and an amazing touch of sweetness. I even placed an order of those to go and I hate getting food to go haha. Next, the passion fruit mimosa was amazing! Def will order again and reasonably priced at $10 which was surprising because a lot of brunch spots are now charging $12+ for regular mimosas and an upcharge for flavors. Lastly, I ordered the catfish and two sides. The catfish alone was a nice size and could've been my whole meal. Seasoned so well and crispy, I left no crumbs. The collards were great and had a "meat essence" but cooked without any meat which is great for those that are vegan or do not eat pork/beef. All in all, I'll be back! Parking seemed to be a little rough so I suggest getting there early as they do not do reservations. They do offer valet which is a plus! Happy eating. read more

This is a LONG POST!! I was in town for the weekend. Looking for a place for brunch and Grits & Eggs Breakfast Kitchen seemed like it fit the bill. We were a party of three and arrived around 10:15am. Please note that only valet parking is available (insert side eye). Anyway, this place was busy on a Saturday morning. So, naturally we knew we would have to wait, which is fine. We were quoted 15-20 minute wait. This is where the problems began. Our 20 minute wait turned into an ENTIRE HOUR!! Though I was unaware of a waitlist (which I would have joined before arriving), there is still no excuse for those who arrived an placed their name on the list to have to wait that long. There were people who came way after our quoted wait time, that were seated. A nearby group, who were upset about the wait as well, was told by the General Manager that "those people joined the waitlist last night.." In what world does a waitlist open before the restaurant is even open?! I understand reservations, however waitlists usually start when the restaurant is starting to get busy. The Ghetto. They really need to work on the process of waitlist and those who arrive and put their names down because there is no excuse for people, regardless if they are on the waitlist or not, come before those who are already there waiting to be seated. Also, there is no listed time limit on tables. There were plenty of people done eating, just sitting there having family reunions?! I have been to plenty of brunch restaurants that clearly have time limits posted to ensure the wait isn't atrocious. With ALL of that out of the way, our waiter Corbin was the absolute best! Though he apologized for the wait, which clearly wasn't his fault, he made sure that our drinks and food came out as soon as it could. He was professional, kind and efficient. We highly recommend the blueberry lemon drop, texas heat of passion and oui kiss mimosa. The chicken and waffles were delicious! The wings were seasoned to perfection and the waffle was made just right. My sister had the 2-pancake meal, which included eggs, bacon and homefries. She didn't enjoy the pancakes, she said they were dry, but everything else was good. This place has potential to be great. Once they work out their waitlist/ waiting time and dining time limit; it would greatly improve the quality of service. Visited this gem yesterday with family. Valet is $5 (super affordable) Pros: The restaurant is pretty spacious, offering several seating options for both small and large families. Also, the establishment was very clean and they offered different varieties of cakes that you could purchase and take to go. Greeted by the hostess who was warm and friendly. We were immediately seated as it was not as busy on a Tuesday afternoon (around 1:30) . Wait staff was very attentive in taking our order and suggested appetizers. Ordered the chicken and waffles, with a side of cheese, grits, and eggs . Ordered my chicken wings to be fried hard and they were juicy & delicious. The waffle comes with cream, cheese, and fruit on top. Cons: waffle was a bit cold (as I'm sure that was because I asked for my wings to be fried hard) Grits came with a slice of cheese on top cheese was not melted, so it made it hard to mix in with the grates for a creamy consistency. The music was a bit loud, so it was hard to hold a conversation without feeling like we had to speak louder to hear one another. But overall I would say it was a great experience read more

I ordered the catfish plate and I enjoyed it. The fish was prepared with saluted peppers which were I nice touch to the perfectly fried fish. I didn't care for the breakfast potatoes but I did enjoy the collards, they had great flavor and consistency. The service was amazing, very knowledgeable and attentive staff. I was actually at the new buckhead location, I'm excited to have a new breakfast spot in buckhead. read more

The manager was so personable and accommodating even after the hostess delayed the wrong message of no more seating. The manager explained that he asked for about 15 mins before seating a new party. I waited probably 15 mins before being seated. The food was AMAZING and fresh! My cranberry ginger mimosa was delicious too! I had a great time! read more

What's not to love at this BOB with delicious food every single time. Well, there's only issue...it's small and quaint and hard to get in without a long wait. However the early bird catches the grits ! I had the pleasure of dining with a friend whom insisted we get there at opening. Smart move because it's normally a 2 hr wait quoted. Our server was kind and I didn't catch his name. He rang in the wrong order but quickly rectified the situation. Also the chef/cook do not like to sub out or change anything from what the menu states so you've been warned. No problem The Beignets are just fabulous if u can share! My catfish/grits were simply perfect. Specially portioned to feed a big appetite! Awesome consistency of grits and crunch to fish ratio ! My friend loves their chicken biscuit plates too. The coffee was solid and I must go back and try all their variations on it ! I will be returning soon to try the coconut pancakes. read more

I was so excited to try this place and what a disappointment it was. Granted, we went on New Years Day but still - how can an establishment say they're open on a holiday but be out of everything? They had practically nothing today. No cheddar cheese No peppers No OJ No shelled eggs No lobster tail No chicken wings I'm sorry but... what??? I didn't even know about them being out of cheddar cheese until I discovered my omelette had kraft singles inside it instead. The server failed to tell me they didn't have real cheese either, otherwise I wouldn't have ordered it. She didn't even offer to take it back - which is fine, but annoying. But it gets worse... The server then has another table accidentally pay for our ticket - which was $75. So she asked if we could pay for their $69 ticket. We said it was fine, but when she brought the ticket it was $83! She did make it right by bringing the total down to $71 but still a mistake that should have never happened. We also didn't have silverware for the longest time, no napkins, no spoon to stir the sugar in the coffee and she forgot my limes for my Coke. The kids pancakes also were hard, making it seem like they were just reheated in the microwave and not made fresh. She also forgot the toast that comes with the kids meals and the biscuit that comes with the omelette. The beignets were good though. I don't know if I will try this establishment again. Food and service was way below subpar. read more

Wanted to venture out for some good breakfast/brunch food without the typically hustle and bustle of brunch outings so decided to try out this spot on what we thought would be a slower day (Monday). We were incorrect. It was still a decent crowd. Despite the crowd we were seated in less than 10 mins. The layout of the restaurant is fine and prob better suited for smaller groups of no more than 4ppl. I loved the RnB playlist. The food was tasty and fresh! The only downside is there is construction next door which is very noisy, making it nearly impossible to hear. Hopefully that'll be finalized soon. They also have $25 igloos on the patio! Not sure if it'll remain at that cost or remain available all seasons. read more

Coming in the door, the ambience is super nice and clean. They have igloo domes on the outside and plenty of seating on the inside. The staff was mad friendly and we got seated immediately. The spot has a bar, not a "full" bar but enough alcohol to pick from! Much more than mimosas. On the side of that is a coffee section, so you can get your Starbucks fix too! The beignets came out with a glaze on them, as well as the powered, which was different. But a good different. I also got a chance to try the honey chicken and biscuit sandwich and it was actually pretty damn good. It wasn't superior, but it was good though. I thought they could have used some more honey on it, but the chicken would came out super hot and had a pretty good flavor. I got the jerk shrimp and grits and it came out fire! The sauce on the shrimp had a really good flavor, it was really Tangy and had a lot of Island goodness to it. It came with about maybe 7 or so shrimp. The food is so good that I want to try it again just to see if I can find something else on the meeting that I will enjoy. read more

Eggcellent! First time at this restaurant and we had a group of six. Since there's are no reservations we had to wait. Considering the number of folks ahead of us our wait was not long at all. There is a coffee bar there so we were able to have coffee and tea while we waited. There is a nice area for waiting with ample number of chairs. So the wait is comfortable. When it became our time to be seated is when all the eggcelency began. All of the staff are soooo courteous and make you feel so good you forget totally about waiting in line for a table. The server asked if we had been there before and since we hadn't he went through the menu and explained all the favorites and how they were prepared. Very thoroughly, he answered any questions we had. Then shortly afterwards the food came. Multiple servers delivering to food, just like any 5 star restaurant would do. The food, EGGCELENT! I had the chicken and waffles where the chicken was fried perfect! Others had catfish and grits which was cooked perfectly as well. This is my go to spot for breakfast going forward. PRICING INCONSISTENCIES!!! I visited this establishment prior to heading into work in hopes of supporting a BOB but the pricing inconsistencies were enough to make me not come back. Not only was the menu advertising one thing but once I was actually told what I would be paying I knew then and there I wasn't adding a tip because why is an omelette $12+ dollars. ESPECIALLY when it's that small portion wise (see photo attached) I get a notification of my payment and saw I was actually charged a tip without my consent. Your price is your price but be courteous to your paying customers by being transparent about the additions vs listing your products as a lower amount! read more

Finally got to try Grits and Eggs!! I had an employee that ordered this restaurant weekly from UberEats. So, I've been on the lookout for some time. My partner and I were very impressed. Our server, Marie/Maria?, was perfect - professional, knowledgeable ab the menu and preparation, showed up consistently, advised us of popular items, cleared the table of debris quickly, etc. She was on it! The food - we planned to have breakfast, and ended up having lunch once we saw the menu. My meal was safe. Baked chicken, rice and gravy, cabbage. It was a better version of Piccadilly, cafeteria like.. My partner had the ribeye with collards, black eyed peas and rice with gravy. The ribeye was great, juicy and flavorful. The veggies were again, cafeteria like. Good and safe. We will definitely be back to try breakfast/brunch. And we will be asking for Miss Marie. I went to Grits and Eggs with my aunt and grandma for brunch for a taste of soul food. Not only was it clean, but the service was outstanding. We only waited about 10 minutes to be seated. The ladies were super friendly from the moment we walked in. Ms. Jean was super sweet and friendly. She check on us and was hilarious. Everyone was so hospitable and kind. The owner personally checked on our table. They made us feel at home or as Ms. Monika said, like VIPs. The food is perfectly seasoned. They got my grandma's stamp of approval, which is very impressive. It was so good, we ordered dinner for later. Definitely my new brunch spot. I watched one table become visibly irritated, while another guest stopped a server to ask if the food being carried out was theirs because they had apparently been waiting over an hour. As the wait dragged on, I started paying closer attention to the decor, which I personally found tacky and gimmicky, especially the fake greenery hanging across the ceiling. The fried green tomatoes and sweet heat wings were really good, and I started to rethink my initial assessment of the restaurant. Everything went downhill from there. My "Rich Boy" sandwich itself was good, but it came with completely unseasoned fries. When I mentioned that I was supposed to have the "Rolex" fries, the server told me the plain fries were what I got. After clarifying with another server, they brought out the actual "Rolex" fries, which appeared to just be fries with a little parmesan and parsley on top. Supposedly they were truffle fries, but there wasn't even a hint of truffle flavor. My partner ordered the veggie sausage, which was overcooked and dry. Their eggs came out over easy instead of over medium, and the "signature grits" were more like cream cheese with a little bit of grits mixed in. We were told more grits would be brought out, but they never came. Another person in my party ordered the Southern seafood pasta, which had literally one piece of spinach in it. When she asked about it, the server responded that there was "more spinach coming." At that point, it became clear that Barney's is selling the illusion of luxury in order to justify premium prices for subpar food and service. It really was a TikTok trap after all. To make matters worse, when the check came, we were charged an additional $1.50 for eggs that already came with the meal. The explanation was that the eggs "came from the shell." Others in my party were also charged extra for liquor on top of the listed menu price for their drinks. Overall, I absolutely did not enjoy my experience here, and I will not be returning. Oh, and that other party that was visibly irritated with the wait had to wait even longer because there was a hair in their food.

There was also a leak in the ceiling, and near the restrooms there was a smell that reminded me of old wet towels. On the positive side, the host was amazing. He was super personable and welcoming. They also turn those tables over FAST. By the time we paid, our dishes were gone and the table was already cleaned and ready for the next group. The food is what saved this review. This black owned brunch spot is top tier!! I've been in a mission to support as many black owned brunch establishments as possible and this one has been my favorite so far. The food was soo good I forgot to take a picture. It was fresh and a great portion. The wait time was supposed to be 30-40mins. I think I waited 20. The only bummer was they were out of beignets. Most of the table had the French toast and eggs and one person had the shrimp and grits. But I will definitely be back. They had a pianist playing music then Christmas music followed. It wasn't so loud that I couldn't hear my friends across from me talking. I loved the ambience! It was just such a classy brunch spot with great customer service. One of the owners was working as a hostess and she was so kind. I can't say enough about how great of an experience I had. Not too mention it was 3 adults and 4 kids between 4-13 and they didn't feel unwelcome. Thank you for catering to all patrons the family, the girls brunch out, couples date and the fellas hang out. We visited Grits and Eggs after a 45-minute to 1-hour trip. The host was warm and welcoming, informing us of a wait, which we expected. Once seated, our server was noticeably unenthusiastic and seemed bothered by our presence, which soured the experience. I ordered the avocado toast with turkey bacon and a hard-boiled egg, a dish that shouldn't take long to prepare, yet our food arrived much later than others who were seated after us. The toast lacked the promised everything bagel seasoning and any flavor, forcing me to season it myself. A friend's catfish and grits was decent, but my high hopes for the avocado toast were unmet. The ambiance was lively but loud. The host led a sweet birthday song for one of our group, which was a highlight. Overall, the lackluster food and poor service mean I likely won't return to Grits and Eggs for brunch or breakfast if I'm back in Atlanta. We visited Grits and Eggs in Vinings recently and, unfortunately, left a bit disappointed. Parking was a challenge--while the deck had designated spots for nearby restaurants, there were none for Grits and Eggs, which made finding a spot tough. When we arrived, the hostess didn't acknowledge us, as she seemed preoccupied with her phone. Luckily, a server eventually noticed us and seated us. I'd heard great things about the food and was excited to try it, but the deli case was empty, which was a letdown. We ordered coffee, but the server came back to tell us they only had decaf available. It was unclear if they typically serve regular coffee, but at a breakfast spot, we expected that to be a given. I was there for the very first time in GA looking for a great place for breakfast. Very overrated place. No good food at all. I was looking forward for French toast, it didn't taste like French toast at all. It was a simple yellow bread with no flavor. I say ironically because I was not aware TSS had become such an iconic set for some well known movies and series over the years. [Yes! I live in a box!] I imagine TSS was the "go to" place for locals in years past. It imagine it still is for some because it is somewhat convenient, has decent parking, and fairly easy to get in and out. In midtown ATL, this is huge!! I sat at the counter and my order was taken immediately. My water and cup of coffee was placed in front of me immediately. The nostalgia was undeniable and I observed the front wait staff seemed happy (inconceivable!). I found myself grinning to myself at their small talk and humor. I ordered a bacon, egg & cheese biscuit (served open faced) with a side of hashbrowns. My food was served hot straight from the grill. My only regret was not ordering toast because the biscuit, to my disappointment, was not homemade. I compare it to the Mary B's Frozen Biscuits I use to buy when I wanted a biscuit but didn't have time to pull out my wooden bowl or had no buttermilk in the fridge. Two clean, single occupancy bathrooms for paying customers are assessable from the outside and entering through the door to the kitchen. That was interesting.. I imagine the building has not changed much over the years. Overall, I enjoyed my visit, (check it off the Bucket List ) but the ($16 + $4 tip) for my breakfast might make me consider The Waffle House before returning for a second visit unless eating for lunch or the Homemade Lemon Ice-Box Pie voted one of the "5 Best Pies in the USA". I do love PIE!
