Maria was my salesperson. Noelle was my F&I person, and Manny was my service guy. First and foremost - they all respected appropriate Covid protocols, in fact Noelle politely but firmly reminded one of her colleagues to put his mask up over his nose. I loved that because this stuff is life and death. Kudos. Manny the service guy was friendly enough, but they sub out alignment work to a tire store which did not work out well for me. Two return trips to the dealership (100 miles away) were necessary because they did not have their act together. Brand new truck with crooked steering wheel mind you... the dealership can and should do better than this. When it came to communication and after sale support until the alighment issue, Maria was very good - strong customer service instincts by and large. She filled my fuel tank when I had to drive an extra round trip for the alignment. And she gave me a prompt answer on a registration question I had, even though we had some static over the price and the alignment. That was good and appreciated. As for the GM at Hilltop... well here's the facts: A different dealership I was working with, Brandt Ford, had offered me a better price by quite a bit on the assumption that they would be able to execute a swap for this truck - but they were unable to get Hilltop Ford to agree to a vehicle swap. They had agreed to a swap and I had a deal to buy this very truck from Brandt, but Hilltop reneged on the vehicle swap. Because Super Duty truck inventory is tight at this time partially due to Covid uncertaintly, I ended up approaching Hilltop directly. It was the last one within a 100 mile radius so I hoped Hilltop would be helpful and honor the deal or close to it! Well, this decision cost me $1500 in price difference on a $80K truck, but Hilltop Ford had me in a corner because they had the truck I wanted - and it was the only one in a very wide radius with the desired options (and they are 100 miles away as it is). So I had to give in and pay $1500 extra to get the truck, as they took advantage of this pandemic related scarcity. This was of course hugely disappointing but I guess the dealership who has the truck on the lot holds all the cards, versus the dealership who "found" the truck and attached the buyer with it. Hilltop kinda owes Brandt a referral fee (maybe they paid it who knows?). Unfortunately, once the Brandt rep showed me this truck, I sort of had to have it. I think the Hilltop GM took a particularly cutthroat view on this transaction. He knew they were stinging me for an extra $1500 by refusing to trade with the other dealer and who can blame him I guess, when money is more important than integrity or standing behind the brand or the community of Ford dealers. But I can't mention the transaction without mentioning this aspect. Ultimately, they had the best truck for the best price within 100 miles. It was just pretty gross the way the Hilltop dealership bent me over after refusing to work fairly with Brandt on the trade. I would recommend shopping their competitors Brandt and Fairfield for price, but even now they seem to be the only dealership ordering their Lariat F250's with good option packages so ... there's that. read more

I had previously given this business a 1 star. After so many years of coming here for new vehicle purchase and maintenance service, I had never had the experience I had on my last visit. Starting with the moment I got there and then things that I noticed with my car after the visit. The first time I called after the visit, I had questions and the person that was "helping" was dismissive. I decided to let that go. But after I found a more serious issue I had to go personally. I was trying to explain my issue and I felt I was not being heard until Robert stepped in and offer to come out and look at my car. Then one of the mangers, Myron came out and offered to make things better and fix the issue. I spoke to Jose, who I have dealt with for years. Long story short, they did fix the he issue. Allow me to sing some praises, and please excuse the hyperboles of this review, as my experience here was truly superlative. My experience at Hilltop was outstanding. I went in looking to buy (my first) car, accompanied by a friend who is a financial expert (lucky me!); my intention was not to purchase anything until we were dead certain this was the right find and had sufficient info on it. After browsing around several dealerships and talking with some sales reps, with mixed experiences, I came to Hilltop and met Noel. First off, Noel's friendliness cannot be overstated, and her friendliness is commensurate to her level of competency, knowledgeability, professionalism, and expertise. At many points throughout the day I forgot that I was talking to a sales rep and not browsing cars with a new friend, except that she dispensed an uncanny level of knowledge about what vehicles were available, what deals the dealership could offer, and knew also the industry backwards and forwards. I came in fairly well researched, and thinking I might be interested in a Toyota Prius C. She was able to grant a remarkable deal on that exact car, but as we drove around she also recommending alternatives, never pushing an agenda, but ensuring that I was making well-informed decisions for myself each step of the way. The recommendations she provided seemed to reflect a comprehensive synthesis of all my criteria, and ultimately her insider/personal recommendation landed me on a vehicle I had never even heard of (Ford C-Max Energi). She made sure to provide balanced considerations, specifying the trade-offs just as carefully as she specified the selling points. Her communication was excellently clear, precise. By the end of the day, to my surprise, I found my dream car and decided to buy that very day (and no, I didn't feel pushed). The benefits and draw-backs of this choice were clear, and it was a lucid decision I made to buy that same day. Noel's demonstrable knowledge of the leasing process was equally amazing. My friend, the financial expert, threw some curve-ball questions at her. She never blinked in clarifying and correcting his understanding; not at even one moment did she seem disoriented by the transaction, nor did she ever fail to answer the questions directly. This stands in contrast to the experiences I had with sales reps from other dealerships, where they would restate the same information or change the subject when they were unable to provide an answer. Without getting into particulars, the deal she was able to swing for me is mind-boggling--not in my wildest dreams would I have imagined a sale like this was possible (would this deal have happened ANYWHERE else?!). Once again, it felt like everything about the sale reflected that she had my best interest in mind. No rhetoric. Seriously. When it came time to receive the key, after I finished the paperwork, Hilltop had waxed and prepared the car. And, without my knowledge, Noel made sure to seal the deal by putting an enormous ribbon bow on the vehicle. She was patient with my asking to take photos, since this was a huge developmental marker--one of my first experiences of true adulting! I could have simply driven away, by Noel stayed with me for about an hour to provide more detailed features of the car--all the stuff that would have been too much to hear earlier, when I had been still weighing the C-Max against other options. This, my friends, went way above and beyond what I would have expected from any buying/leasing experience. As I have conducted further research on the car, I see now that Noel had provided a comprehensive (exhaustive?) job in guiding my choice. I am beyond thrilled with the purchase as well as the experience Noel provided, and to my surprise I still feel great about arriving so quickly at a purchase--zero buyer's remorse, even from a conservative buyer who would have otherwise waited some days or weeks to buy something. Once again, I cannot overstate how fortunate I was to run into Noel. She held my hand every step of the way without ever being arrogant, bossy, or pulling a smoke screen around the sale. I initially called Hilltop ford after shopping around for a vehicle in a couple other dealerships where I was met by hostility, passive aggressiveness, and persistence. AnNisha answered my phone call and gave me detailed information regarding their inventory and offered to send me photos of the vehicles before I even visited. On the lot and in the pouring rain, she showed me the different trims and took the time to explain and demonstrate the differences. When our Ford developed a loud noise we took it to Hilltop Ford, logically, since it is the closest dealership. They told us the axle and wheel bearings had to be replaced at a cost of $3800. At our son's suggestion, we picked up the car - a shocking $475 just to inspect it - and took it to a highly respected mechanic, Paul 777 in Albany. No charge for inspection, no need to replace axle, cost of replacing wheel bearings? $800. We will never take the car back to Hilltop Ford!! read more

The service department techs that help you when you arrive are not the friendliest. It sucks when the sales people meet your needs, but the service department lacks social skills. Benny was not very friendly... and didn't even know how to start the car. We had to show him where the push to star button was. When we asked for the status of the car, after waiting an hour and 20 minutes for an oil change all he said was, "it's not ready yet" and he walked away. Feels like "pay through the nose, that's the way it goes." Friendly customer service makes a huge difference. The cashier was great, though. She helped this place get the third star. read more

Take this review with a grain of salt as far as the vehicle is concerned because this is only my first day driving it and only time will tell. As for the service at this dealership, John is amazing! He took so much time and patience taking us on countless test drives and stating his honest opinions on certain cars. I never felt pressured to buy anything and was at ease until the very end. We found a car closest to my liking (Ford Escape) with a pretty good deal being that it's a 2017 model. Don't know if it's just me...but every time I come in for an oil change, it takes FOREVER (more than 2 hours!!). Even with an appointment. Oil changes don't take that long, do they?? Also- the last time I came the paper work said "battery checked and is ok." Bullshit. My car barely started to go home and the next day, didn't start at all. But after filling out paper work the manager Tim spoke with me and clarified that I would be getting my usual oil change, tire rotation, and car wash while meeting a competitors price. Are we starting to see a pattern here folks? The service department is a crime scene. I completely agree with Cindy C. How dare they charge $150 for an estimate (that took 5 minutes and involved plugging a computer in and reading a screen) and not apply it to the service! I've never had to pay for an estimate at a garage, at least that wasn't applied to the work if you had it done there. The women at the counter were sympathetic but Juanita on the phone was just a unhelpful, smug, 'too bad for you' witch. We bought our Escape there a few years ago and that included 'free oil changes for life' (of the car) but that is just a scam to get you in there and try to shove "Truecoat" up your wazoo.
