Food Came here after the wife and I started craving some fish tacos. We've never been here before and decided to give it a try. The fish tacos themselves were pretty good. The fry on the fish was pretty good and has good amount of crunch. The asada tacos were just okay and a bit on the dry side. There was a salsa bar and they were pretty standard salsas. Overall, I think good overall experience and not bad if you just want some reliable tacos Service/Ambiance The staff were nice and we experienced some technical problems with the cashier, so I had to pay with cash, but i didn't see it as an overall problem. Terrible service, and extra terrible service when they get the order wrong. For context, I've worked customer food service jobs all through my teens and early twenties, so I know what I should expect, and how to act as a customer. It was Mother's Day. I ordered over the phone. The first red flag was the lady did not repeat the order back to me. Boyfriend went to pick it up, and the lady did not clarify what was in the order. The order was priced way over what we had, and he asked if she was sure it was ours. She said yes. Got home and it was completely wrong. I called back saying everything was wrong, that he's going to need a refund and get the original order. She at first said she didn't have it, and I asked if I should tell her what was in the order so she could find it. She finally found it. Boyfriend went back to return the wrong order and asked for a refund. She said she couldn't do one without the receipt. Mind you, she never said that over the phone to me. He ripped up at the bags and pulled out the receipt. He sat down, and then she asked he had the card he paid with, and he did Apple Pay. She then said he needed his physical card so he pulled it out. We finally got our order back home, and they still gave us some incorrect shrimp tacos. I specifically asked for grilled because I'm gluten free and it's a corn tortilla. All in all, over the phone and in person, the lady never said sorry once. When my boyfriend went in person, they acted like we were inconveniencing them and gave him an attitude. There was no discount on their mess up, no extra food thrown in, NO APOLOGY, nothing but attitude at us. honestly, in terms of quality and quantity, hole mole is justified !! definitely get their fish tacos and their guacamole. these two are my must get when i come. still, everything on their menu is fresh and well made. though hole mole is somewhat a fast food establishment, so you can't really come here for the service or ambiance. read more

I'm updating my review to talk about the breakfast burrito I got today... I've still been on the lookout for a bomb breakfast burrito and I think I found it! This one was soooo good!! I got the ABC (avocado, bacon, cheese) which also comes with scrambled eggs. I added hash browns to it as well. As you can see from my pictures the burrito is very large! The avocado was so creamy and delicious and they didn't skimp on the cheese. *yum* I can easily get two meals from this grande sucker. The breakfast burritos are $10.99 before tax and you can also add in potatoes or hash brown for an up charge. This is definitely my favorite breakfast burrito so far and my current #1 from the ones I've tried. I will still try others in the future. ;-) read more

I grabbed this right after landing at Long Beach Airport and Holé Molé - this place hit way more than I thought it would. I want to highlight the go-tos here: Do: get the Fish Ensenada, Shrimp Ensenada, and smoked brisket tacos!! The fish and shrimp are crispy and come with refreshing slaw + pico - reminded me of San Diego-style fish and shrimp tacos! And get extra salsas! Don't: get the al pastor or the Fish Ensenada Burrito. The al pastor tasted more like chorizo/ground pork to me. And the Fish Ensenada Burrito was just OK - the fish got soggy inside the burrito, so I definitely preferred the taco version. I've been coming to Hole Mole for years, and I can confidently say their fish tacos are some of the best. The fish is always perfectly crispy, flavorful, and fresh -- they never miss. Every time I go, it's consistent. Everyone is so friendly and your order comes out quick. Recently I tried their steak (barbacoa-style) tacos, and wow -- 10/10. I'm not even sure which I like more at this point. Now I just get one fish and one steak because I can't choose. The beans and rice are so good, and it's absolutely worth ordering the small plate that comes with two tacos, refried beans, rice, and a grilled chili. Those grilled chilies have the perfect flavor and just elevate the whole meal. The salsas are delicious, and everything always tastes fresh and well-seasoned. I especially love coming here in the summer, grabbing a plate, and sitting outside on their little patio enjoying the sun. Food is ok. But what drives this establishment down was possibly the worst customer service I've ever received. Lady charged me for the wrong order. When I got home, I realized it was the wrong order, went back and the lady acted like she could care less. Then proceeded by the longest time to refund I've ever seen and still got the new order. I got home and saw that half of my order was wrong. I went back and asked if they can fix my order but remake my tacos due to them being cold for having to drive back 20 minutes. My order was fixed but they only heated up my tacos in the microwave. Also I was charged wrong for one of my items and she said she would charge me for the correct one. I'm already driving back 20 minutes to have my order corrected and yet she had the audacity to tell me she would charge me. Very annoying, no type of customer service whatsoever. read more

The customer service at this location was disappointing, and the food was pretty lackluster. Overall, I'd strongly recommend going to the 4th Street location instead--you'll thank me later. Don't let this spot ruin your good mood. My order was made incorrectly, and when I politely asked if it could be remade, I was told I'd need to pay again. When I looked confused, they checked with the manager, who seemed visibly disgruntled about the situation. Eventually, they did remake my food--but then asked if I wanted cheese on my burrito and mentioned it would be $2.99 extra, which honestly felt unnecessary given the circumstances. The overall vibe was just off. A little decency and effort to make things right would have gone a long way. My friend brought me to Holé Molé and described it as "Rubio's but better, also the food actually tastes good" which for me is not setting the bar particularly high because everytime I have eaten Rubio's, my stomach hurts and I regret it immediately, but I digress. I am happy to say that I had a rather favorable experience here. I ordered two crispy carnitas tacos and an Al Pastor taco on a flour tortilla. I wish I took a photo because it was all over the place when I got it. Most of the guacamole had fallen off but it was still good and it came with chips which I didn't expect but welcomed. Also the carnitas tacos were delicious although they weren't very big, I enjoyed them. I didn't even order that much food and still felt satisfied and I felt like the prices were actually pretty low than most other places. All of that for only 9$. I want to give a shout out to Heaven, she was working the register when I came in. There was a mistake with my order and I accidentally ordered something by accident but she was really understanding in helping me correct it and giving me some money back. Oh man, if I could uneat this, I would. There was nothing redeeming here. First, all my food except the salsas had a strange chemical aftertaste. Burrito was not good to begin with. The tacos were tiny. With shells that looked store bought, the meat content tasted weird. The produce piled on was to large to fit in the shells. Now let's talk about the store itself. My friend and I had a stunningly delicious lunch at this assuming little taco stop yesterday! The little retail center was busy at lunchtime but we easily got parking! The restaurant itself is beyond humble, but appears clean and well run. They have a salsa bar! Which is always a plus in my opinion! My buddy raved about the smoked brisket taco! The fish burrito hardly has any fish in it. Just a couple of chunks, and the rest is beans and rice. Kind of a wack burrito if you ask me.

We just stopped in to grab a breakfast burrito and what a disappointment. We ordered the one burrito and a few minutes later another person arrived. 20 min later still no burrito and as I looked up I saw the cook chewing on something then I saw the woman who takes the orders and fill the chip bags and she was eating a chip as she was filling and a chip broke from her mouth and who knows if it went in the bag. It's been a while since I've been here but decided to drop by for Taco Tuesday last week. They have a new item (smoke brisket) which isn't on the Taco Tuesday menu but definitely worth getting. Their fish tacos are still my favorite but looks like they no longer give you the grilled chile with your tacos and you have to pay for them separately (inflation I guess). This place has the best fish tacos and enchiladas. They have great service and cool locations. This one in particular has a patio in the back where you can sit and enjoy your meal. I am very impressed by how fast you get the food and how tasty it is. This is definitely my go to for tacos and Mexican food. They have jarritos and a very cool salsa bar. Tried the 2 fish tacos and 2 brisket tacos combo. I also ordered the fried peppers which are always excellent. The only problem with the peppers was the third one was a tiny overcooked string, not a big deal the other 2 were good. The beans and rice tasted good, however they were slopped into the togo container with no care. Now the reason I'm writing the review. After I ordered I noticed a sign that said they were opening a barbeque restaurant. Now I'm getting excited for the brisket tacos. I like to smoke my meat so I was looking forward to this. Unfortunately the meat tasted like lighter fluid, both tacos. Tasted so bad, when I dumped the meat in my dogs bowl, she didn't want to eat it. Hopefully this was a one off, the new restaurant won't last if that is there brisket. An hour later and the lighter fluid taste is still in my mouth. I usually get the fish tacos and tortilla chips from here. The fish tacos are ok. They are not horrible, but nothing to be excited about either. The batter on the fish was a bit too thick for my liking. It was also very messy to eat because the tortillas were too small for the size of the fish and amount of toppings on the taco. The tortilla chips were pretty good though as well as the pico de gallo and salsa verde. Prices are reasonable . Service is mediocre. Some of their staff could be a little more friendlier. read more

I placed an online order. It was my first experience with this restaurant that my daughter likes. When I went in to pick up my order, the woman who helped me was So RUDE!!! I stood at the front by the counter and let her know I place d an online order. She said name? I told her and she picked up the bag and placed it on the counter without any eye contact or anything. I said thank you and she just turned her back on me. I will Never purchase anything there again. I live in the neighborhood. Adventuring in Long Beach for the day led us on the search for fish tacos. We found Hole Mole and both got some tacos- shrimp tacos for me and fish tacos for him. We also ordered some yellow chiles and some rice. Everything was really tasty, especially the rice! It tasted like homestyle rice you'd eat at a backyard family party, I could've had 5 more orders. The shrimp taco is mostly onion, as I found out after I removed all the grilled onion. Still tasty. We liked that the restaurant has an outdoor gated patio area. The breeze and shade felt great. There is also a good sized indoor seating area. The service was ok, cashier was nice. There is no table service but the tables and ground are kept pretty clean. Final note- the menu is large and there are lots of things to try. No matter your choice, make sure to order some yellow chiles! read more

While its not anything special, it definitely hits the mark for fish tacos/shrimp tacos. They're never overly battered and the slaw/crema is the perfect mix of crispness and flavor. Wait is always reasonable as well. Wish they had better salsa selection, and I've definitely had to-go orders that just didn't hit like they should.
