This place is a home run!!! It's comfortable, the food is excellent and service is friendly & accommodating. Lindsay(sp),the owner came out and introduced herself, gave us a history of the business and made sure we were happy and being well taken care of. We started with ceviche that was perfect! Our main courses were steamed mussels in a broth that was so good and plentiful that I soaked up as much as I could with 2 rolls and then proceeded to drink the rest. The mussels were super flavorful and tender. My partner had the INCREDIBLE fish and chips. They came with crispy French fries & tarter. Truly that selection is the star of the show. Can't wait to get back and try some of the other things on the menu. It won't be long before you will wait in line for a table. So I would give Hooked a try soon. read more

Amazing calamari and fish and chips! So many places manage to mess up calamari around here but not this one. It's cooked perfectly tender, not rubbery, and not overly breaded but so good. Their fries are surprisingly good - thin with some type of beer better, so crust and good. They have homemade ranch too. Not overpriced at all. Generous potion sizes. One thing I love is that it doesn't smell fishy inside like some fish places. Something to do with the ventilation but they did a good job. Very comfortable inside with more of a casual vibe. They have Coke products for the win. A pleasant addition to this restaurant complex. Will definitely be back. Husband Review: The fish tasted fresh! Enjoyed our dinner and great service today. Wife Review: The dining area was pleasant and clean! The staff were friendly and welcoming. We had the Combo Platter (fish, shrimp, calamari, coleslaw and fries) it came with a little bit of everything which I loved! Our server,Kayla was nice, but hard to get her attention for drinks or extra napkins. I had the fried seafood combo, shrimp, calamari, fried fish, french fries $22, my friend had the fried calamari. Calamari was extremely overcooked, ,but the ones with all the legs way too crispy burnt. The shrimp definitely came out of a package, all flat. The piece of fish was perfect. Well... I am not really sure what the hype of this place is but im not too impressed. they had 2 servers and the rest of the crew called out. the fish came out burnt, the fish n chips were.... disgusting. Scott, our waiter did his best serving us so no points against him but we came here because we didnt want to cook and this city has yet to have a good seafood place to eat. It's unfortunate but the city will continue to not have a good seafood place to eat... You're a new restaurant but A LOT of changes need to be made. read more

It's our anniversary and we just wasted $108 at Blu Seafood. Horrible food, nice server, but a manager who didn't come talk to us after our concerns. Had to cut lobster with a steak knife and ribeye had so much fat it never should have been served! Wife's tacos were awful! Forgot to order our appetizer. Left and came to Hooked Seafood because she was still hungry! All I can say is AWESOME! Tacos were so delicious and the staff were so friendly! Will be back over and over! It was so good! Was excited to try this new seafood place! The restaurant is open, bright and welcoming. The staff was friendly and attentive. I was helped right away and my order arrived quickly. I had the Garlic Butter Shrimp Taco and it was delicious! Very flavorful. I also had the Fried Cod Taco, which was large but not as flavorful as the shrimp taco. The surprise was the French fries! I don't know how they fried them, but they exceeded my expectations! At $32 with a drink and tip, this is usually more than I would spend, but I will come back to try more of the menu. My wife and I stopped in this weekend and ordered tacos. Overall the tacos were decent, but the amount of vegetables was greater than the amount of fish. If they had reversed the ratio, that would have been preferred. The server was friendly and responsive and the restaurant appeared to be kept clean and had an attractive seasode decor. But the reason for my low rating was the prices. They are charging about 20 to 30% more than San Diego-area fresh seafood restaurants like Fish 101. On top of that, they are using disposable plastic plates and utensils, even for dine-in customers. read more

Hooked completely lived up to its name, we're officially hooked! The whole vibe felt like the kind of place you'd wander into after a long day at the beach: casual, breezy, and full of flavor. We ordered a spread and loved every single bite: the seared ahi plate, mahi and red snapper tacos, steamed clams, fried shrimp, and classic fish & chips. Everything was fresh and delicious, but the steamed clams and fish & chips were absolute standouts. The service was outstanding! Seriously some of the best we've experienced in a long time. The food was very good! I had the fish and chips and the breading was so good ( light and )It was two pieces which I think I would've liked to see a bigger portion . For the prices that they charge I don't think they should be serving on flimsy plastic plates, and plastic silverware, plastic cups, . If they don't want to have a dishwasher, they should at least invest in the hard cardboard plates is better than flimsy plastic in my opinion.. it just seemed awkward cheap plastic for an expensive meal. And it was a little bit awkward in terms of it seemed like I could go order and get my own drink, but then they made me have a server so that I had to tip, then don't serve me on plastic. If I was in the area again, I probably would have the food, but I would just say it's takeout and then sit and eat it without a server. Service was okay. read more

My husband and I went for dinner on a Saturday evening and the food was delicious! We shared the clam chowder and the red snapper plate. It was enough food to feed the two of us for dinner. The service was very efficient and our waitress was attentive to our needs. The ambiance was wonderful as it had televisions so that we could watch playoff baseball. I had been wanting to try this place since it opened. I like to support Gilbert businesses if possible. I can honestly say the food was some of the worse seafood I have eaten in a very long time. I ordered calamari and fries. The fries were very, very greasy with no seasoning on them. The calamari was so tough and over cooked I could hardly chew it. My son order the seafood combo that was also very bad. The shrimp were basically burned and way overcooked as well. I went to Hooked for the first Saturday night. The pictures look good. Plates of tacos and beautiful salads. So I ordered shrimp tacos. $9.00. it was per taco. I received one shrimp "street taco'. it came on a huge dinner plate, unfolded. Three tiny shrimp and lettuce. I ordered the salad and it was chopped romaine and three cucumber sliced. My wife ordered the Ceviche and Tortilla chips $15. The Ceviche cam in a little plastic dish smaller than my IPhone. 12 chips. Every thing look deep fried at a " Grill". It reminded me of Long John Silvers. We are not big eaters, but this place ridiculous. We came home and had something.to eat. read more
