10 Boneless Wings - Medium Buffalo
    Kristine S.

Hubby and I were in the mood for boneless wings. We ended up driving down to the Julington Creek area and decided on Hurricane Grill & Wings. We arrived and only waited a couple minutes for them to clean a table for us. We each ordered 10 boneless wings as well as a side of fries to share. Hubby ordered his boneless wings with medium buffalo sauce. I went with firecracker and teriyaki. The chicken was on the dry side and the breading was inconsistent. Some pieces were crispy, some were soggy. The boneless wings weren't sauced the best either. I felt like I could have made these better at home in the air fryer. The fries were good, crispy and seasoned. I also thought the celery was fresh and had a good crunch. Excellent blue cheese. I would give them another try in the future but wouldn't order the boneless wings again.

I wanted to do a low key Valentine's Day dinner with my mother in law and my son, so I chose Hurricane as a meeting place for dinner. There was plenty of parking when I pulled in, and when I walked in I was able to be seated immediately. We were able to get a booster seat for my son and browse the menu while I waited for my mother in law to arrive . I ordered a Miller Lite in a bottle and sweet potato fries for my son while we waited. The fries arrived hot and crispy, so my son had to wait to eat them. But he gobbled up the majority of the fries and seemed to like them. Our waitress Erica was super nice and accommodating, and she handled our table well. the only con I would say is that we had to wait a long time for our food. But, when it did come to our table, it was hot and fresh. The burger with onions and bacon is delicious and there was plenty of it. The onion rings were crispy and hot . My mother in law ate all of her shrimp quesadilla, which is a rarity! We enjoyed spending time together and celebrating Valentine's day. I recommend the food but ask that the service time improve.

Hurricane Grill and Wings does two things absolutely perfect. 1) They serve, amazing wings, with an encyclopedia like list of sauces 2) They know how to have a good time. This is not to say, that the rest of the menu isn't great, because anyone can find something they like on their menu. And it's not to say you can't go and have a quiet intimate meal with a date, perspective, date, or the future ex. They don't blame me, if you go and have a bad time or don't like the food you choose when it's not wings if you do, you really don't understand the assignment. I should tell you that it's kind of funky to find, because the only light nearby put you at the other side of the building. So the best way to get there is actually driving behind the building, where you'll see plenty of parking or coming in from the San Jose side near the entrance Metro Diner. There's some pretty amazing specials during the week. For instance, Tuesday, is trivia night. Thursday and Friday, $.99 wing night. I'm sure the other days of the week have specials too, I just don't remember them all. But what you really wanna know is about the food: Sweet Tea - admirably a good southern sweet. Beer- great options in bottles, better options on tap. They have seasonal offerings, so don't be scared to ask what is on tap. Wine- I'm sure you can drink wine, but I never thought wings and wine went together. Appetizers - ditto for appetizers, chicken wings are unique and that they're both an appetizer and a meal Sauces- there are so many sauces. It will make your head spin (like your head is on a saucer, yuck yuck). The spice range goes from mild to nuclear, with plenty of stops in between. I am partial to the teriyaki, the butter, garlic, and the medium regular wing sauce my wife likes anything to do with Sriracha, anything that says nuclear, and anything says so-hot-you-will-be-farting-in-colors before nights end. (Sidebar) Which brings us to the servers- they will guide you through the menu, make records recommendations and treat you like a regular, even if it's your first time visiting. Boneless Wings - these are my wife's normal favorites, and she doesn't understand why I like bone and wings. She says it's too much work. Bone in Wings - you can choose flats or drums, or mix. And these are my favorite, especially with the medium wing sauce. There's something about a bone in wing that says - this is really chicken. OK it works for me. Chicken Tenders - my wife's #1 choice. Their hand, breaded, they are for sure 100% real chicken, and if you're nice, they will bring you a series of their wing sauces.. Is the food worthy of a Michelin star? No not on anybody's scale, I would say that there's other restaurants with better food nearby. But they have solid food, and have the friendliest community atmosphere that I have seen on this side of Sam Malone's bar. (Hopefully you get my Cheers reference here.) I have never failed to have fun, whenever I've visited. Weather is chatting with the Weight staff trading barbs with nearby tables or just speculating on who's cheating during trivia night. There are better places to have an intimate date dinner, but there are not better places to have a fun evening .

Great customer service and they offer seat yourself seating in the dining area. Ordered a philly cheesesteak and the macdaddy burger. Both were extremely delicious with fresh tasting ingredients. Very cute beach decor and a huge bar area.

The length of time to be waited on

I have been a weekly regular at this location for approximately 8 years, visiting almost every weekend for their wings. They grill my wings in a way that I have not found anywhere else that gives the wings the taste I desire. That being said, the service here amongst almost everyone on the wait staff may be the worst, or among the worst, I have ever experienced. Routinely I enter, grab a seat in the bar area and wait extremely long periods before even being acknowledged, much less helped and waited on. I boycotted for roughly 9 months last year and upon returning, only noticed a slight difference with the new ownership and management but it is routine that I may sit 15-20 minutes before being waited on. I prefer to sit at the bar even if I'm not drinking because the bar staff WILL wait on you but the bar was full so I had no choice but to take a table. This past weekend, as I have started doing a lot, I started my stopwatch to see just how long it would take. The table I sat at had just been vacated and had a couple of dirty dishes from the previous customer. At around 8 minutes, the hostess came and took the dishes away leaving the glass but not speaking or wiping the table. At 24 minutes a couple came in and sat at the table immediately behind me and were waited on after themselves waiting for 10 minutes, while the wait staff still ignored me. It was at that point I took my stopwatch on my phone and placed it on the edge of the table for unavoidable view at 32 minutes before I was finally greeted and my order taken. Numerous customers around me have noticed this as well, as they have on several occasions, but I asked that they not say anything, feeling it was not their responsibility and to see just how long it would take. Might I also add, that I order the exact same thing every time, 10 hot wings grilled, no garnish, no sauce and a sweet tea, so I am not a difficult customer and the majority of the staff know what I want. This issue has been brought to the attention of numerous bartenders, wait staff and management but it continues unaddressed.

I wished I got our servers name as he was very good and patient. The impossible burger was good but the fries were cold and sad the idea yea was very weak. I would have done three stars but the waiter really was friendly (just wished I could recognize him by name). Overall it's worth returning.

I always find myself here at lunch time. Some great wings, with nice sauce options and even a few dry-rub choices. A nice burger for when you're not feeling wingy. Fantastic service. So-so beer options. I-10. Kona. And Sam Adam's seasonals.

Clockwise - Chipotle BBQ, Cyclone, Ancho Chili Lime, The Boss

As I was visiting friends in Jacksonville, I wanted to find a place with awesome wings. Hurricane's filled that void. I went in and sat at a bar. They were not busy on a Tuesday night. The bartender shook my hand, exchanged names, and talked some sports with me. I appreciated the personable approach. He also helped me with the wings and did not stick by the traditional wing rules like ordering in quantities of 5 per sauce. So for my 15 wings, I ordered 4 sauces - The Boss, Ancho Chili-Lime, Cyclone, and Honey Chipotle BBQ. Out of the 4, the Honey Chipotle BBQ was the best. BBQ is my forte so that is not surprising. It was basically a sweet and spicy BBQ. The Boss was my 2nd favorite. It is a Buffalo Garlic Parmesan. The Cyclone is a sweet and spicy Ranch. It was all right. The one I didn't care for was the Ancho Chili Lime. It had a bland, peppery flavor to it. There are several choices for sauces and rubs and they also combine sauces to form new sauces. I will have to come back. I loved the decor as well as it looked like a dock with an inside/outside bar area. Sweet Tea was refreshingly sweet! I wished I had known that on Wednesdays is all you can eat wings for $13.99. I would have sampled every single sauce that night! But I will plan on making a return trip to Hurricane's for wings when I return to Jacksonville.

If I could do 4 1/2 I would! Visiting the Julington area, friends who live there took us to this place for cocktails the first night. Inside they have a restaurant area which is kid friendly and in the bar area which discourages children. There are multiple TVs around every wall in the bar so that you can catch your favorite sports. We ordered hurricanes, both starting out with a category one and then moved on to try other categories I had the category for which was phenomenal! This was also taco Tuesday night so we decided to actually stay there for dinner and had tacos. My grilled fish tacos were delicious, perfectly cooked with fresh Crema and a mango salsa. We liked it so much the first night we went back to second night, this time we sat out on the deck which is right next to a boat storage place on the marina. There is several tables, and a window opens to the bar so you can sit at the backside of the bar and order directly from the bartender. My ahi tuna salad was delicious, perfectly seared over a bit of fresh greens and a mandarin vinaigrette. My friends had wings, and the sauce was described as a fiery sweet sauce, but I could not taste any fire. That did not stop from enjoying them as the wings were meaty and well cooked, next time will try something with a little more spice.

    40 wings to-go!

Great food! I've been coming here for a long time to buy wings! If you are in the area of Parkland or Coral Springs, you should definitely order here. The service is spot on, and the Ambiance is really nice.

It's a typical sports bar type of a vibe and I believe they do drink specials while games are on and if a certain team scores, etc. The people are always friendly and nice. We sit at the bar area and we're usually greeted right away. One of our favorite things on the menu was the blackened mahi wrap they removed that on their new menu, but we went in there and we were able to get it ordered because they still have whitefish it might've been grouper, but I didn't care. I find that there is inconsistencies with the kitchen. Sometimes we would get the wrap and it would be perfect other times there was hardly any fish and it was mostly lettuce and others it was lacking the other things such as the salsa and the cheese, etc. They have a great taco happy hour. Everything is 4 to 6 dollars from 4 to 6 PM , and this is again sometimes they're amazing and sometimes they're just so so. Overall, for the pricing and the atmosphere and the location, especially for us is a good go to for us. I just wish they were more consistent with the kitchen. All of their well drinks on happy hour is five dollars so that's a good deal right there. Also, they have side orders of things like onion rings and french fries if you don't wanna do a whole basket of it, which is super helpful if you wanna grab a few tacos and just want a little bit of onion rings

On top of that, the pricing was great. Our waiter was great, but the pacing of the meal could have been smoother since it took about 45 minutes to get our entrees. There were a couple of other notable downsides. The restaurant was quite loud, and to top it all off, a woman at the table right next to us had her shoes off. Management really should have controlled that kind of behavior, as it detracts from the dining experience. Furthermore, despite making reservations to celebrate our anniversary, the restaurant did not acknowledge it at all. That was unfortunate. We got our text that our table was ready and we walked over. Once seated our waitress went over the specials and I checked out the menu. They really have something for everyone and even some New Orleans classics. We of course had to get the New Orleans BBQ Shrimp since it's favorites plus it's one of their most popular dishes so it has to be good and you already know it was. The spicy butter sauce had so much flavor and the shrimp were cooked perfectly and the bread was great for sopping up every last drop of sauce. I've been to Salento twice now, so I feel like I got a good sense of what they have to offer…read more I started with the carne empanadas, which came with complimentary chimichurri and hot sauce. They were crispy on the outside, warm on the inside, and filled with flavorful meat. The sauces paired perfectly with them and made an already great appetizer even better. For my entrée, I ordered the Bandeja Paisa, and it did not disappoint. The meats were the star of the plate. Everything was juicy, cooked perfectly, and seasoned just enough without being overpowering. The steak was surprisingly tender despite being well done, with just the right amount of fat. The sausage had a great snap, the egg was perfectly jammy, and the chicharrón was absolutely incredible--crispy, crunchy, and easily one of the best I've had. I didn't try the sweet plantains since I'm not a fan and they couldn't be substituted. The arepa was good, although nothing particularly memorable. The only parts of the meal I wasn't impressed with were the rice, which was a bit too salty for my taste, and the beans, which lacked flavor and were underwhelming. For dessert, I tried both the tiramisu and the chocolate cake. The tiramisu was just okay--it wasn't bad, but it didn't stand out, and I wouldn't order it again. The chocolate cake, however, was outstanding. It was incredibly moist, rich without being overly sweet, and the perfect way to end the meal. Overall, Salento does an amazing job with their meats, and that's what I'd recommend most. While a couple of the sides and one dessert didn't quite hit the mark for me, the empanadas, Bandeja Paisa, chicharrón, and chocolate cake were all excellent. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. The environment is pretty nice and quiet.
