The food and customer service are the line was so long and the people are sooooo not friendly al all

The breakfast was super. Love the new stuffed waffle crousant thing. Mine had a cheese sauce filling with strawberries on top. Hilda was a really nice and attentive server. I think that this restaurant is pretty good. Most of the meals that I have been breakfast dishes. The quality and quantity of the breakfast dishes are good and consistant, and the waiters are waitresses have always been friendly. My only complaint is that it takes a very long time to get your food. This place gets a thumbs up. read more

I like this IHOP. It is a typical IHOP and it is the one closest to where I live. But the staff has always been really friendly here, I think more so now that I have a little infant who just started eating. My little boy loves eating their grilled cheese sandwich. Out of all the restaurants, this place seems to do the best with limiting the amount of butter they use to grill the sandwich. I really appreciate that. What's even better is that we get coupons in the argus newspaper for buy 1 get 1 entree free, so it works out to be a wonderful deal. They also usually have a kid's eat free after 4 pm promo. After receiving absolutely NO service from the Dennys on Mowry for 15 minutes after being seated I'm relieved to come here where it is incredibly busy always to be treated like family! We were expecting to wait 15-20 minutes on the list but it was only about 5 and our waiter is extremely friendly and we already got our drinks and ordered it did about 10 minutes after arriving! It's a little more expensive here but definitely worth it for the service alone! read more

Ordered to go on the phone: raspberry white chocolate chips pancake, stuffed french toast and crispy chicken tenders with fries. I repeated my orders to the person and he confirmed yes. My husband and I had an IHOP craving and I now wish we didn't. I would say this is the worst one we've been to. Hash browns came out hard, stale, and had a mashed potato texture on the inside. The waitress had to be reminded multiple times for condiments we asked for... and even after we asked for water twice.. she still didn't bring us any.. Sooooo disappointed. Not to mention the fact that its pretty small... the person who sat us and the bus boy were having an obnoxiosly loud conversation for everyone in the restaurant to hear!!! I would not give a star at all if given the choice. We went to eat at this location and was given a wait time of 15-20 minutes. We went up to follow up on the wait time after 25 minutes and after seeing a bunch of other people called up for seating before us that we did not see there before. They happened to be the same ethnicity as the manager. We complained at the location to the manager and they did not act professional at all whatsoever. We also complained to the guest relations for Ihop. This is the response from the franchise manager: "Good morning, my name is Camrin Lankenau, and I am the general manager for the IHOP in Newark. I just came across your email after being on vacation, and I was really disappointed to read that you had such a bad experience. I'd like to begin by apologizing for the miscommunication regarding your estimated wait time. We try really hard to give the most accurate times without going too high or too low, and it seems like we dropped the ball in this situation. I will be following up with my staff to ensure that we are giving our best estimates, as well as being more open to communicating new estimates if the first ones are too far off. As far as your thoughts on being discriminated against, I can be sure that wasn't the case. We take discrimination extremely serious as it is morally and fundamentally wrong, not to mention that we serve a range of ethnicities, and to discriminate would directly harm our business. To make a counter point, none of my employees that day were middle eastern, and yet that is what you very wrongly categorized them. Not that it makes a difference, but to believe that you are being discriminated against, while at the same time making blanket statements based of the appearance of my staff is counter productive, and honestly reduces the validity of your complaints. I'm not sure you would be willing to give us another try, and at the same time I'm not sure we want someone who feels they are being discriminated against while at the same time making these types of statements against us back either. So I look forward to reading your review on Yelp or wherever else you'd like to make one, and I hope that you find a restaurant that better suites your needs. I like going to the Ihop over at Union City better than this location. The food is fine but no one likes waiting thirty minutes for someone to hand them the check. IHOP - Free pancakes with donation. - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Newark, California

We use to come here frequently to get breakfast for dinner, but will not ever come here again after tonight. We ordered 3 meals and 2 of them had hair in our food. Our server didn't seem to care much, but took the plates to the back to have them remake. My husband also told the cashier our experience, when he asked how our meal was. He also didn't seem to care. We paid full price and didn't even get an apology. Terrible customer service and unsanitary. read more

Forget breakfast. Try the turkey with stuffing & mashed potatoes for dinner. It's a real bargain at $12.79 ( I think). Even though the broccoli is frozen not fresh you get ample portions, a piece of grilled toast and tasty gravy. The turkey is the real star; carved not that pressed loaf crap. Came here last minute the other night and although there were only 15 mins before closing they took us in (which most places don't) our server Mohammad was absolutely great, very respectful and cheerful! I love some good pancakes, but today it was all about a BLT! Actually I think they called it a Double BLT and it was perfect: the balance of bread to meat to veggie to mayo ratio was just right(thanx Sheldon Cooper) . But what made this visit so memorable was Jessica. This server knows what it takes to make a good experience into a great experience. I came to the IHOP at 3pm on a hot day. She suggested the iced tea. as I was finishing my tea my thoughts were "man, I could go for another tea, that was good" and here she is coming to my table with another iced te and lemmon wedge. Good service. after my blt came out she comes with a FULL Caraf of iced tea, with lots of ice and lemmon wedges! Great service. and she doesnt know this: one of my pet peeves in restaurants is drinks with 3 or 4 ice cubes floating at the top. Other restaurants should learn this: dont be stingy with the ice, especially on hot days. I also noticed IHOP is including a lot of healthier items on their menu, on visits to come I will try them. Forgot to tell our server I did not want a side of grease YUCK! I have no idea why there was funny tasting and looking pot roast type meat in my omelet?! Portia was very nice and friendly, she served us very well. The food was ok, but the coffee could be better. The person that seated (at around 7:30 us needs to be prepped as to how a customer must be greeted when they come. He needs to look more welcoming, it is good for business. read more

I went for an early lunch (11:30am) yesterday with my 4 year old grandaughter. The restaurant was more than half empty and we were seated promptly. The server was prompt and took our drink orders. By the time she brought the drinks, we were ready to order. That is where the positives stopped. It took over 30 minutes for the food to get to the table after ordering. I could observe the cooks in the back from where I was sitting and it did not look like they were in a hurry to get the orders out, just to talk. I ordered the BLT and my Grandaughter ordered the kids pancake, nothing that would require a lot of preparation. The BLT was the worst I have ever had in my dining experience. The bacon was so salty that I needed three glasses of water to get it down and more after I got home. My grandaughter's pancake was cold, but she did not seem to mind. I suppose if cold pancakes were served to an adult, the story may have been different. Long and short, the server staff was attentive but the overall experience was very disappointing. read more
