First visit on Mother's Day. Our server was knowledgeable and helpful. Pasta was homemade, big dishes and price included soup or salad. Had the shrimp bisque, but others had well-portioned Caesar salads and other options with salad with balsamic and gorgonzola cheese. All but one of us took home boxes. Calamari appetizer was shared by 5-6 with good bread. Deserts was well-priced, good sized and nicely flavored. We'll return as it's mid-way between Seattle and Cdn border. read more

The first time that I ate here was several years ago. This year when my sister was planning her wedding and looking for a place to hold her reception I thought of Il Granaio. We decided that we would have lunch to make sure it was as good as I remembered, and it was even better. The chef was wonderful when he helped us pick a menu for the wedding that fit easily into our budget and they had three different rooms for us to choose from for the reception. On the day of the wedding we ended up with several extra people and they were more than accommodating. Busy restaurant, highly recommend reservations. We brought our friends to dine here as we have enjoyed our meals here prior to this visit. Our server was top notch!! Our meals took quite a long time to receive, about 40+ minutes. Once we finally received our meals, my dish was gluten free noodles with smoked salmon in a tomato vodka sauce which was delicious! The spaghetti type noodles were overflowing with very little tiny pieces of salmon and very few. When the server came to take our plates he noticed my dish had looked like it was barely touched. Again... so many noodles, very little salmon. He mentioned it to the chef and they agreed the ratio was way off. The server took my meal off the bill. He also offered FREE desserts for all of us because our meals took so long. The desserts were great! our server brought our checks he handed me a gift card to come back for another meal on them. I really enjoyed my dinner here. There was a 30 minute wait which isn't bad for the weekend. What I really liked was that despite having empty tables, the staff made us aware of a wait due to the kitchen. They were honest and I like that. The customer service was wonderful, quick and informative. I loved my gorgonzola chicken which came with pasta with a red sauce. I choose their mushroom soup as a side and it was delicious. It had a different puréed texture but wonderful flavor. The gorgonzola cream sauce was amazing. It was rich and creamy! I tried the lasagna as well which was delicious and hearty. For dessert, I tried the creme brûlée and I wish I had ordered two! I it was a tiny serving but full off flavor and left you wanting more. Tonight was our first visit and probably our last. We came in around 3:30pm. Once we were seated our server quickly came over and took our order. Our server was great but the food was not the best. I had ordered the soup of the day and had to return it. It unfortunately looked like it had started to curd, was really hot, and didn't taste great. I let my server know and she brought me out a salad instead which was probably the best thing I ate tonight. Our main entrees came out and our chicken Alfredo was swimming in flavorless runny sauce. Surprised to find how they did make great social distancing in their dining room at this time. Again I found the staff to be knowledgeable on their menu. The meal I ordered was polo marsala. It came with large portions of mushrooms over two chicken breast. The sauce itself was great. This was the first time we went to a dining room in over 4 months. Seeing how some people disregard wearing mask or doing social distancing this experience showed how a dining out can be accomplished in this time. We took the drive north to try Il Granaio for our anniversary dinner. We were very pleased with the food and service. I ordered the Fillet Mignon with mushroom sauce. The steak was very tender and had great flavor. It was cooked perfectly! My wife had spaghetti with meatballs. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce and meatballs were very tasty. Came in on a Saturday night and spent two plus hours here. The main negative was time for service. It took nearly 20 minutes for the server to take the order once sat. Service was just really slow. Didn't get appetizers until after an hour. Probably would have been there longer if we didn't ask for the check when we ordered dessert (which took 20 minutes to bring out ice cream). The food was average at best. We've had better dishes at Olive Garden TBH. Maybe shut down one of the "extra" dining rooms if the staff can't keep up with the amount of customers. read more

We came here for Valentine's Day and we were blown away! The ambiance was amazing- it's a beautiful space. The food was fantastic (my boyfriend, a lasagna fiend, said it was hands down the best lasagna he's had!), our waitress was super friendly and attentive, and the prices were very fair. So living in Bellingham for years and now in Mill Creek , I have passed by this place for years and always wondered what it was like. I just recently had the opportunity when I was thinking of a restaurant that was in between both places and was thinking Italian. Part of our party was my daughter with my 4 yr old grandson, always a risky affair at restaurants due to the short attention span of young ones. Our waiter, Tony was super attentive and such a help keeping him occupied with drinks and bread and conversation. The menu was almost overwhelming with delicious items that made it difficult to decide but finally settled on the nights special of chicken, sundried tomato raviolis in a light creamy tomato sauce. Each of us chose different entrees and the food was absolutely delicious across the table. A wine recommendation by Tony was an outstanding choice as well and the desserts that followed were the same. It was one of the best meals I have had in years and almost hate to post this with the fear that they get too busy to get reservations again. Had dinner here a few times. Last time was a little disappointing. I had the carbonaro and it was bland. My partner had the spaghetti and meatballs and it was dried out. Seems like things kinda went downhill here. I'm all for supporting local business but when you can get better food and cheaper prices at the chain restaurant then it's a no brainer. Our meals didn't seem amazing or more Italian than the meals I remember having yrs ago at Olive Garden. Prices are that of a real Italian experience but the taste didn't match it, unfortunately. The bread they serve you here had butter and garlic salt on . I ordered chicken with Gorgonzola sauce with pasta. When the dish arrived at the table I couldn't even see the chicken there was so much sauce. My husband ordered the carbonara. True carbonara does not have a cream sauce. His carbonara was so drenched in cream sauce and butter it was pooling at the bottom of the bowl. So, not authentic Italian AT ALL. Wine glasses had a Kirkland label on them. Bathroom felt like a gas station bathroom. Our friend ordered a pasta with seafood ( shrimp, mussels etc.) seafood was over cooked. The prices were very high for what you got. My sister in law is doing whole30 and they were super accommodating to her needs. Pricing is totally affordable. The food, however, is only so-so. I had the special which was a filet mignon ravioli in a tomato basil demi glaze. There was a lot of food, but I can't say my mind was blown. My other half had a chicken and peppers dish that came with a side of macaroni looking pasta. It was super gummy and bland. Some people are saying they'd rather have olive garden, and I can't say I disagree. Maybe some of the other dishes are better but I won't be going out of my way to eat here again. read more

We just moved to this area, so this was our 1st restaurant to try. It was my Birthday and I picked Italian. Granted the prices should not show $$ but should show $$$ or $$$$. That is misleading. There is a 4-course special before 6pm that includes a small appetizer, salad or soup, meal and a small dessert for about $15. That is certainly a solid deal and $$. That being said if you order off the menu or daily specials and/or you want wine with dinner.. expect to pay $100 with tip for 2-people. Taking price out of the equation, we did opt for the special. The food was a solid 9 out of 10. Service was good, the completer garlic bread was terrific. Salads were good (not great), they could use more than just lettuce, 1 piece of cucumber and 1 piece of tomato. They hide it's lettuce with carrot shavings. Come on people, even Olive Garden has a better salad, let's not skimp here. The meal itself was very good, came piping hot, a solid generous serving, certainly if you're not a big eater you will have leftovers. The dessert was very good, and of course because of the special, the bill was fair. Zero complaints about service, they were above par. The only thing that made me take away 1 star is they're deceiving on the general price by doing a $$ when they're clearly 3-or-more. Also they could do a bit more with the salads. Only other thing is more comfortable seating, wood benches and wood chairs without padding is a bit uncomfortable. All that aside, we will recommend the place, certainly go again and bring friends and family when the visit. A solid 85 out of a 100. read more

We stop here during our annual trips to WA. When it's warm we sit outside and enjoy our delicious and classic Italian lunch. Today we are in the dining room which has excellent service. Aaliyah enjoyed fresh spaghetti with tomato sauce. Deb went with the lunch margarita pizza. I went with the 4 course special. Bruschetta opened the meal which was tasting, I chose the salad instead of the soup for the second course, the entree was the squash ravioli (yummy), I haven't decided on the dessert yet which will probably be the creme brûlée. Saturday early afternoon, there was one other couple and us two. The food service was slow, the water server was on point. It's a quaint little restaurant. We ordered from the Sunset Special $16.95 p/p. I ordered the pollo Marsala, the sauce was tasty but the two pieces of chicken were flat as a pancake. I felt the portions were very small, maybe if they raise the price a little the portions will be decent. The bruschetta was delicious just with two little pieces of bread. I'm giving this place four stars because I had an enjoyable meal here. Is it the best Italian food? No. I've had much better. But, I wasn't mad at the food. It tasted good and the portions were good. My biggest feedback about how they could improve on the food is to cut back on the sauce. My salmon was literally swimming in its sauce. The gnocchi my daughter ate had far too much sauce. The linguine vongole that my husband had, however, was perfect. I would call the service relaxed. And we appreciated that very much. We had a long back breaking day and it was so nice to sit down, enjoy a bottle of wine, enjoy our food, and not feel rushed. The prices were moderate. I think they're very fair for what you get. My husband and I went here for dinner on my birthday. We're somewhat young (mid-twenties), and the waitress who was at the front was rude and seemed surprised that we had reservations (and yes, we were nicely and appropriately dressed). The service was efficient but not friendly. We didn't feel particularly welcome or appreciated. The atmosphere was all right but nothing to write home about. The bathrooms were very dirty and unkempt. We each got a sunset special, which is their inclusive four-course meal. The bruschetta appetizer was pretty good but just used the same bread as the complimentary bread. By itself, the complimentary bread was a bit burnt and too crunchy. Our caesar salads were fine, but the dressing was very bland. I ordered the spaghetti carbonara, and my husband ordered the chicken marsala. My food came out piping hot, while his came out lukewarm. His chicken was very uninspired, and we could have expected the same taste from an Olive Garden. We both independently thought that his side pasta tasted like slightly improved Spaghettios. (That's not just a jibe. That's quite literally what it tasted like.) My carbonara was fine. It was the best of the food we got but was nothing special. And it included a lot of egg. I don't dislike egg in general, but it was a bit much in the pasta. At any rate, I think the egg should have been mentioned on the menu. (I checked online afterward to confirm, and it definitely wasn't.) For dessert, I got the cheesecake, and my husband got the spumoni. My cheesecake was extremely rich, too salty, and didn't have a good flavor. His spumoni tasted too much like fake flavoring, especially the cherry. Overall, we found the place to be "meh". We wouldn't go again. The sunset special is a good deal, but still, for the price level, we could have gotten much better food somewhere else. read more
