Having walked by Jade Restaurant many times, I decided to finally come and try their weekday lunch buffet (Mondays through Fridays 11AM-3PM for $19.95/person as of July 2025). The setting on the water is very pretty, and it was a nice day so we opted to sit outside. They have umbrellas to provide some shade as well. Service was minimal given it is a buffet, but our server was friendly in refilling waters and clearing plates. The buffet itself was small but they managed to put a lot of dishes in a small space. My favorites were the soup, salad, string beans, edamame, pasta salad, and honey walnut shrimp. Some of the deep fried items were not that crispy, and obviosuly the dishes were sitting under a heat lamp. Nonetheless, for the price and value I am more than okay with a mediocre buffet. Dessert even included some tasty French macarons. I left full and am glad I tried their lunch buffet.

On the Water. No Wait. All You Can Eat Sushi. I'm not sure why you're still reading this review and not driving there right now, unless it's Friday-Sunday. The AYCE Sushi is Monday-Thursday from 3p-8p at the Sushi bar for $35/person! That's a steal, especially if you love sushi and can eat 3-4 rolls. Each day Jade has a deal or a theme, so it makes for a great experience anytime you go. I highly recommend going for a date, hanging with friends, and just a night to yourself! Parking can be tough to find, but pretend you are going to Gelson's and you're fine the parking lot.

Marketed as an Asian fusion restaurant, Jade restaurant provides Chinese, Japanese, Korean inspired dishes in a nice waterfront setting. Located in the Marina Pacifica shopping center, right next to the marina in Alamitos Bay, it has a ton of indoor seating along with a few outdoor seats in a narrow walkway overlooking the moored boats. We found the atmosphere, service and most of the food to be good, and of decent value during its generous Happy Hour times ( 3 - 6 pm S - Mo, W - Sa; All day Tu). My wife shops and dines at the shops in the Marina Pacifica shopping center, and wanted to dine-in at Jade for the first time after passing by it so often. We were hoping to snag an outdoor table overlooking the water/marina (thus coming before 4 pm) but were told the only open table had non-working umbrellas, so we chose to eat inside. Inside is a 7,000 square foot restaurant (this iteration opening in 2019), that easily could be divided into multiple occupancies, but the current owner has chosen to use it as one space. It's a big space with multiple entrances, a bit winding with a too small, outdated bathroom. There are many laminated menu sheets: One for Happy Hour, one for sushi, one for lunch buffet (M-F 11 - 3 pm for $19.99), and one for classics. We were celebrating, so ordered a variety of things to sample and enjoy. This meant different cooks were preparing, so it came out at different times, in the following order: Lychee Martini ($13) - from HH drink menu, it was very sweetly cloying, with a decent amount of alcohol...had to help my wife finish it. Mom ordered a fountain Coke ($4). Sushi Box ($20) - from the Happy Hour Menu, it's a nice variety (though it didn't exactly match what was said on the menu). The six pieces of sushi (2 each of tuna, snapper, salmon) were generous though the quality of the fish was below average. The 4 piece california roll was OK, with good avocado. The green salad has a variety of ingredients (was more of an Asian salad) and was one of the best I've had in a bento box. The miso soup was flavorful and full of tofu and seafood. For twenty dollars, this is a good deal. Noticed they have an all you can eat sushi special (M - Th, 3 - 8 at the sushi bar) Lettuce Wraps ($10) - for HH menu, there was a decent amount of good flavored chicken, with a big stab of iceberg lettuce (there were plenty of leaves, but it was old and a bit dried out...many restaurants wouldn't have served it). Dan Dan Noodles ($19) - chose it with ground pork, instead coming with pork loin pieces. It was more of a soup, with a small amount of lo mein noodles. The flavor was good...just not dandan. Bento Box ($18 + $2 for fried rice) - From the HH menu. Chose it with sweet and sour chicken and cup of wonton soup. The egg roll was a bit greasy, with small amount of fried rice being quite tasty. The same salad in the sushi box was given, and enjoyed. The chicken was quite good when eaten fresh, and I especially liked the perfectly cooked peppers and pineapple. With the just the right amount of sauce, it was a good dish and would be worth getting again in larger quantities. Green Beans ($6) - from HH menu, a decent amount of fresh green beans, cooked just enough to wrinkle the skin. It was good. Service was OK: the place wasn't too crowded and our server provided all that we explicitly asked for, though nothing suggested or noticed. The food came out when prepared, and there wasn't enough space at the table for 4 to hold our entire order (so we had to juggle a bit), and the dish clearing was hit/miss. We paid at the table. With time left over, decided to explore some of the other shops. Parking is shared for the mall and was quite crowded, and because the entrance is so far away, took a bit of a walk from door to door. Jade has a lot of specials, so if one goes at prescribed times, can actually get good value (especially if during HH and being able to sit outside)....and with the eclectic menu, provide a variety for big parties. Though it is a bit funny that for a restaurant so big on the inside, we were so cramped while eating.

Saturday 03.22.2025 Celebrated my wife's 50th Birthday. Had reservations for 8 people at 14:30pm. Checked in 15minutes early. Greeted and seated by the bartender who sat us down to our table. He was a nice guy. Smiling and accommodating to our experience. As we all sat down at our table. Waited a minute or two to receive our menus. The current waitress asked us if we wanted to start out with drinks. Ordered a round of water for everyone and ordered their special jungle juice Mocktails as well. All were received and described as it was from the drink menu. Tasted very good. For our entrees we ordered broccoli beef, orange chicken, chicken fried rice, beef fried rice, Walnut chicken, and noodles. Received all of our entrees within 20 minutes. Everyone at our table was enjoying the food and Drinks. Food was good and satisfying. Blew a candle for her birthday, and opened up her presents. The dining experience we had here was 2.5 hours. Overall our waiter Chris did a fantastic job! My son in law flagged him and stated if we can do something for the birthday girl like put a candle on a dessert so she can make a wish. The only thing that I did not like is we got charged for a little cupcake bread at the end, upon checking checking the tab. I was like come on man, it should be complimentary for a birthday patron to get something free lol. I got a sense of this place being stingy and tight. That wasn't going to stand in the way from having fun. Overall I would come back. This place is a hidden location on the bottom floor at the Marina Pacifica shopping center. Place was chill. Had a authentic modern chines and Japanese feel to it. We came here when it was not packed. The experience of being 1 of 4 groups of patrons in the restaurant gave it a feel of attentive customer service. Lots of parking and the place is Clean. This place gets rowdy at night for live bands playing. So may not be a good idea if you want piece romantic tranquility. If you come at noon and there is only two of you, I recommend sitting outside to enjoy the waterfront. It will be a nice Ambiance for a Sunny Day. I was hesitant to come here because of the recent negative reviews of bad tasting food and patrons getting sick right after dining. This was not the case from my experience. I was worried at first, since we had travel plans the following day. Either we got lucky and someone was not telling the truth or the restaurant made some changes. 4 stars, I would of gave it a 5 stars.. but felt like the charge for a birthday blowout cupcake was not sincere and genuine coming from the restaurant as a token of celebration. We spent alot of money already for a party of 8. Just saying. Overall had a good time.

I was so excited to try here when I heard about the all you can eat sushi, plus there being dog friendly was a bonus. However I was drastically disappointed by the appearance and taste of the food. The only thing I got that tasted good was the ginger salad. All of the sushi was extremely mediocre at best and the pan seared dumplings were burnt with no taste. I cannot stress enough how highly unsatisfying this meal was. To make matters even worse, I paid $68 total (including a tip) for the meal! Happy hour is a sad excuse for happy hour, $2 off drinks priced at $15+ a drink. More like "same price as regular menu priced drinks" hour, just occuring right after work hours. The only thing going for this spot in my opinion is the location with the water and boats and the magnificent staff and service. The staff was very amazing, so although I did not mind the tip, I remain highly unsatisfied and unhappy with what I paid for the food and drink and will never return. Wishing I could get my money back and the staff keep their tip. :-(

Just look at these patio views! Can't be beat!

I have been coming here for years and I am the biggest cheerleader of this place! Let's start with the location-the views are AMAZING! It's right on the water and you can sit on the patio to see all the cute Duffy boats on the peninsula. Parking is in the back and the place is a bit tucked away but don't get discouraged! You can also park in the Gelson's lot and walk over. Clean bathrooms and a huge, sprawling restaurant space with an Asian chic vibe. We come to see our favorite bartender, Shawn who makes a life changing cosmo! (Order one and tell him Hillary sent you!) He used to work for the Beach Comber so this man knows how to sling an amazing cocktail! Not only is he incredibly attentive, no matter how busy it gets, he's also got a fantastic personality to match and an award-winning smile! We also love beautiful Lyn! The other star of this place is the food! They've never disappointed me and I have too many favorites to name so I'll just list a few: the rainbow roll, crunch roll, andQueen Mary roll, are all fantastic for sushi. For starters I always order potstickers-pan fried or steamed I like chicken or pork and then I order the spicy garlic green beans (TRUST ME!) and the cheese wontons that come with a mouthwatering sauce. And let's talk about the happy hour...It's 3-6 everyday. EVERY DAY! Even weekends!!! Can't go wrong there!! And the happy hour menu is BANANAS! Discounted drinks and cocktails, and apps, with sushi rolls discounted and also the boxes! I love the Mongolian beef and the honey walnut shrimp-such great food and an amazing price! This place also has fun comedy nights and live music so do yourself a favor and check it out!

Still in shock. We had a table of 4 at Jade to support our friends in the band playing last night. We all ordered sushi. I'm allergic to imitation Krab so I found a couple items I could eat that in the description did not have Krab, one being the Crunchy Roll. The description says shrimp, tempura, avocado, cucumber. Unfortunately when the waitress brought it, it had imitation Krab in it. I called the waitress over, nicely explained to her that I could not have the imitation krab, she offered to put spicy tuna inside instead. No harm. I was fine with that. I wasn't mad. She said that this roll always comes with krab maybe insinuating that I got it wrong. So we grabbed the menu to reread it to make sure I hadn't accidentally made a mistake and lo and behold there was no mention of Krab in the Crunchy roll description. So I felt OK about sending it back.... Well about less than a minute later the door to the patio swings wide open aggressively and an older blonde woman comes up to our table with my order that I sent back and slams it on the table and says who's order is this??? It startled us to say the least! It was so aggressive and she was so rude. I said I sent it back, I can't have imitation krab. She said then why did you order it?? I said what do you mean, Why did I order it?? I said because your menu doesn't make mention of Krab in the description of this roll so I ordered it. She said Crunchy rolls always come with Krab at any restaurant you go to. I said well that's not necessarily true. I order crunchy rolls all the time at various restaurants and there is no krab in them. She continued to raise her voice telling me I was wrong. She said that I misread the menu, the Crunchy roll always has Krab. So luckily I had the menu in my hand and when she finally let me get a word in edgewise, I said, where does it say krab in the description?? She looked at the menu, studied it for a bit, didn't say a word to me and she picked up the plate and she stormed away. I was right!!!! There was no mention of krab in the crunchy roll description. (See menu below). I got no apology. All the customers out on the patio were looking at us. I don't understand what the point of that was. Why did she come out to make a scene? I quickly found out she was a manager. Her name is Lynn. She also worked behind the bar. I guess our server had to ask permission to exchange the Crunchy roll and she lost her mind over it. I understand that people have bad days, but why would you come to a customer's table and chew them out because they have to return an item that they are allergic to. After reading all the reviews and seeing how many people get sick at this restaurant. I decided that I'm going to make my own review about what happened to me last night. The people that were with me who witnessed this whole scene all encouraged me to write this review. The two women I was with got the wrong sushi rolls as well, but we were afraid to say anything. Can you imagine????? She did end up taking it off the bill, But we were in shock! I have never had such a violent encounter like that with a manager or a waitress or anybody in a restaurant, ever. I was shaking. I have been to Jade a few times. But I will never ever go back into that restaurant again, which is unfortunate because some of my best friends play in a band periodically along with my Fiancé. I can't wrap my brain around why this happened. My family owned several restaurants and I can't imagine having an employee that would confront a customer like she did. The food isn't very good. Our server Mayzie was amazing. We come to see bands every once in a while but the food is very inconsistent, regardless, we still come to see our friends play. One of my good friends is playing tonight in a band, we were supposed to come back again and see her, but that's not going to happen. I don't feel good about coming back ever, it just doesn't feel safe. That is so strange to have to say!!!!

Excellent experience now that the unprofessional and rude manager Scott is gone. Enjoyed the atmosphere, food and drinks were delicious and the band Mike Staggs & The Soul were AMAZING and put on a great show! Everyone was dancing! Thank you Jade for making the necessary changes to improve our overall experience. Mary was our server and she was super attentive and provided excellent service.

Salmon Larb was perfectly cooked with fried cubes of juicy flavorful salmon. Tossed in fresh mint, cilantro, scallions, a ton of fresh lime juice, chili flakes, red onions and lettuce. The toasted rice powder was definitely apparent as every Larb dish should have. Slightly different take of Larb, bit more modernized and tweaked cause definitely a salad with the lettuce versus served with the cabbage and cucumber on the side. I don't think you can go wrong with what you order. Definitely fusion of authentic with a modernized American feel. Bc the food is super delicious and made up for the lack thereof in service.

I wanted to find out if this spot was as good as I had remembered it. Unfortunately, that was not the case. I was practically disappointed by two out of the three dishes. Two of them that should've been the best. I'll start out with the Mongolian beef. There was plenty of meat and onions and green onions, but there was no kick to it, not the greatest flavor either. It was also a little watery, which was a major letdown for me. I was really looking forward to enjoying it with the white rice that came with it. Next up was the chicken chow mein. I was expecting to have long noodles in its to go box but when I was eating it, it was small noodle cuts. That was a bit shocking for me. It also didn't have a lot of great flavor, and again I was let down. I did get vegetable fried rice, because who could actually screw that up. It was the best dish out of the three. Not a ton of flavor in it but enough for me to actually enjoy it. I tried using the leftover chow mein by putting it in a skillet and adding a few spices and oils. It improved it just a little bit, but not enough. Clearly, I can't go back here. It's like they say: buy cheap get cheap.

I'd say it needed a bit more flavor and I wish the noodles were a bit bouncier but it wasn't bad. Place seems a bit old but with the prices they have, I'd still come back to try something else.

By far the best Chinese restaurant in the city of Long Beach. I was told to come here on the advice…read moreof one of my clients. She did not let me down as we walked in and noticed how truly authentic it was going to look. Chinese decor on the walls and boxes of restaurant supples in the corners. Just as it should be. The bonus was that they had a TV showing the NBA Finals when we arrived. Pretty nice touch and in the back of the restaurant so as not to distract everyone. We went with a couple of our favorite dishes to run along and the Chicken Lo Mein was pretty good. Crispy pieces of chicken and soft noodles and veggies to go with it. We chose to get Mongolian Beef and it was absolutely fantastic. Crispy celery, green onions and decent sized pieces of meat in a terrific sauce. I would love to try to replicate that. My wife wanted a shrimp dish so she ordered the honey walnut and it even looked good to me when they brought it. She loves egg rolls, so she got a four piece and said they were pretty good. My biggest wow of the visit was their vegetable fried rice. MY GOD. I dont know what they season or flavor it with, but every fork full of rice that i ate, it was this sense of flavor that reminded me of butter or something else. I really loved the sensation i experienced from this particular dish. I am really curious on what it actually is. I will definitely be ordering out or coming in for Chinese because that reminded of many other places that put out fantastic dishes.

Made my way back to eat my way through the lunch specials…read more I ordered more mainstream dishes this time around and they did not disappoint: -sweet & sour pork ($13.95) -kung pao chicken ($13.95) Each entree comes with white rice, though you can upgrade to fried rice for an additional $2. To be honest, the fried rice was a nice way to break the monotony of just plain ole white rice. The entrees are also proportionally very generous if you like a good value. I thought both were quite good. You get plenty of protein and each dish tasted exactly how you'd expect them to taste. Highly recommend L V if you're in the mood for good ole Chinese food.

There's loads of amazing Thai places in Long Beach but you tend to go you the ones you like. I been to a good amount where they're highly rated but something about them isn't what I'm looking for. Some tends to be very Americanize, others are just whatever but people love them. I like what I like and this place is one of them. Like mentioned, whenever I'm in Long Beach a visit here is always a must. The service is amazing as all the staffs are very friendly and welcoming. The place isn't that big but a fairly decent amount of seating on both side. They do have a table out front but it's only one. Menu has pretty much a good selection of Thai dishes. I like what I like and tend to go for the same items as they are one of the place that makes it the way I prefer. And why is it some Thai places don't offer their classic dish, the boat noodles. I've been to a few and they don't offer it while some places, it's not that good. Here, it's alway consistent and very flavorful. That a must for me and alway ordered. We also love the papaya salad which you can have Thai style or Laos style. Depending on what your preference is. Their larb is great as well. Very flavorful and tasty. Of course our main items we tend to get here, the boat noodles which I love as it's flavorful, broth is perfect and all the extras added. Also all their curries are excellent. Lately we've been getting their massaman curries which the flavors is really nice. Whatever protein you like. The curries do come with a side of rice but an extra order is alway needed. Love it to have with the papaya salad and larb. All their dishes are great and very flavorful. Spice level varies on what you like but I tend to go with medium and add all the extra spices for myself with their sauce selection. We tend to alway be full even before being asked if we wanted dessert. The food is always amazing and the staff are always friendly and sweet. There's two restaurants that's a door apart and both are great but this one takes the cake for me. It's always a must when I'm in town as I know the food will alway be delicious. Highly recommended. Heads up, parking in the area is a bitch. It's all residential so people tend to stay in or else they're going to lose their spots. Just a heads up.
