I made reservations for Mother's Day brunch for 10:30 AM. The night before at 8:48 PM, I received a voice-mail saying unfortunately my reservation is canceled because their system overbooked reservations. Horrible food place ate this around a year ago got norovirus / food poisoning i was literally in the hospital due to throwing up my literally stomach acid and had to be put on a iv drip because i was going to lose everything in me i was dick for week my brother and dad got it to. Went in on a Saturday night at 8 PM and it was not crowded. Since the sun had set we opted to sit indoors. They have two entrances. One to the left of sit and sleep entrance (that is their main entrance) the other entrance is located opposite Kamal Palace by Marina. This entrance has the outdoor seating. We ordered tempura veggies and a couple of rolls (Sally Roll and Salmon roll). My friend had the Mongolian Beef. To drink I had some Strawberry Saki. I didn't order any dessert but my friend did; deep fried ice cream. The service was ok, not good or bad. The rolls were pretty good. The tempura veggies were mostly fried batter. My friend enjoyed the Mongolian Beef but returned the ice cream due to taste. At 9pm a cover band played "Total Recall Live". They were pretty good. Their following was a much older crowd that knew how to have a good time. During the week (M-Th), they have all you can eat sushi for $40 which is the cost of two rolls. I came back again before a movie since it's right next to the AMC Theater. This time will be my last time coming here. My friend got the broccoli beef and hated it. It was too salty and the flavor was weird. I got the Thai Chicken curry and only ate 3 bites. It was so bland and mushy. I asked for chillies to give it some flavor but that didn't help. I was going to take a picture of the unappetizing looking food but the lighting indoors is too dark for a good pic. Last tip: I walked by the empty sushi bar on my way to the bathroom. Chef Fabio, bartenders Shawn, and Ro were all fabulous. We appreciated the very fresh, lightly battered calamari and dipping sauce, a jalapeño aioli. The sushi was amazing. I was astounded at the freshness of the rice and came to find out they make it fresh twice a day. I am not sure if you realize how unusual that is. Chef Fabio was working in his menu for Cinco de Mayo and let us taste his unique, delicious rice pudding. This one was not thick and sticky, but light and the long grain rice was al dente, which made it very toothsome and stand out in the crowd. First time there, we will surely be back. I'm stingy when I give out reviews so I rarely do but my steak and eggs was 10/10 best I have ever had! The house sauce with an Asian flair I would buy by the bottle if I could! The steak was cooked perfectly to a true medium rare. The potatoes were light and crisp and soft on the inside. Veggies were perfectly cooked with a crunch still- you could tell they were fresh. Chef Fabio came out to check on us personally and we had a nice chat. 10/10 recommend. The views on the water of the boats coming in and out were so peaceful- my husband and I basked in the sun while we watched the boaters. Found this place on yelp looking for a good pho or sushi. Let me start by saying the service was outstanding for the most part. A gentleman who was running the bar served me and he was extremely nice and kind. The restaurant appears slightly outdated the first table I sat at had two very notable wobbly chairs I thought I was falling when I sat down in the first chair then the 2nd chair had the same thing. I asked to sit at the bar instead of a table. The service from ordering to getting the food was okay took close to 30mins for sushi to be made and it wasn't busy it was maybe two tables the restaurant being served besides me and another couple at the bar. The sushi shouldn't have taken very long to be served I ordered a caterpillar role I was concerned because it was warm and this isn't a cooked role they had a health notice on the door about food being stored at unsafe temperatures already so this was concerning. I also ordered another sushi roll that was soy paper "lettuce" and shrimp and crab. It was very underwhelming and not edible. I ordered beef pho and I was very disappointed there were several red flags. One being they use roast beef as the protein, two the broth was not fresh it was overpowered with fish sauce and was not freshly made today as advertised. The broth was at least two days old and reheated. The final item was orange chicken with white rice the orange chicken was soggy and lacked traditional seasonings use when making orange chicken The rice tasted reheated and the entire dish felt like it was microwaved and then out in a wok to attempt to re crisp it For food that took over 30 mins to cook with an almost empty restaurant I expected better quality. "A jack of all trades is a master of none..." I am always wary of vague "Asian Fusion"-type places that serve everything from sushi to orange chicken to pad Thai. Ahh!! Too many options! And it makes me thing they don't really specialize in one cuisine. With Jade, that assessment is 100% correct. I have tried the sushi. I have tried the bibimbap. I have tried the ramen. All were just ok. Actually - I would even go so far as to say the ramen was just bad. I really wish they would slim down their menu! Maybe they should just focus on Japanese cuisine, or fusion between just a couple of types of Asian cuisine rather than doing it all. That way they can make sure to really nail those items and simplify things for themselves as well as their customers. The patio overlooking the marina and the outdoor ambiance is quite nice. Only booked this because it's close to the theatre and I stupidly didn't check the reviews before. Do not go here. The food was absolutely disgusting and the atmosphere abysmal. 80s Dive Bar vibes. When I walked in I noticed most people were drinking and not eating. Already a red flag. Sitting down, it was date night so I ordered a Moscow Mule. OMG! They even messed this very easy concoction up. It was not a Moscow Mule and tasted like bad sour mix and Vodka. I even asked my partner to taste and he almost threw up. Gross! Then I ordered the Kung Pao chicken at the suggestion of the waitress who was very obviously high or drunk. The food came out in essentially 6 and a half minutes. Eye roll. The minute it was placed in front of me, all I could smell was bad or gone off meat. The chicken smelled gone off and tasted terrible. I couldn't eat it. My partner also didn't eat his Shrimp plate as it wasn't good for other reasons. I asked for the check. When I did, the waitress obliged, clearly not even noticing we hadn't eaten anything and had only been served about 10 minutes prior. All of a sudden, the manager approached the table to see if everything was ok. While he meant well?, his demeanor wasn't very polite or helpful and at first was kind of standoffish. I said to myself, what's the point in telling them the food is bad and the entire place is falling apart so I just said I wasn't feeling great. Anyway. Steer clear of this place. I'm surprised it's operating as there's so many great restaurants around this area. Seems to be like a drinking spot for a particular crowd, and they're clearly not drinking cocktails. I am giving a rating of 1 because there is nothing lower to give. I visited Jade to celebrate a friend's birthday on 03/16/23 and got sick that evening. I ended up getting food poisoned and have been I'll for almost three weeks. Arriving home after the birthday celebration, I started to feel pressure on my tonsils. The next day, my tonsils were hurting and could not swallow. I have been like that for over a week now and have missed days of work due to this issue. The Health department has confirmed that there are over 30 cases and as of 03/24/23, 4:00pm, there is an "Active Investigation" pending and has not concluded. The department has labeled this situation as an "outbreak" and yet have allowed the restaurant to remain open while a pending investigation is open. The inspection summary report is posted at the upper right side of the entrance of the restaurant. This notice should be at eye level for everyone to see before entering. read more
