If I lived in Miami, I'd be at Jaguar every night. Everything about it was excellent, from the service to the food itself. We had the shrimp ceviche and Mexican ceviche--both were so good--and our entrees were delicious as well. There were like ten things on the menu I wanted to try. We also loved that you can order a "spoonful" of anything on the dessert menu if you just want a taste. The waitstaff was super friendly, attentive, and hard working. I always bring friends from out of town here because it is one of Miami's hidden gyms and everyone always raves about it. Friendly service, the owner always has a smile and is eager to help. I've been coming for years and years (maybe going on 10 years now?) and have seen the menu change but the quality remains the same. The ceviche peruano is incredible, their specialty rice is a must try. The place has a great ambiance and is in the heart of Coconut Grove making it perfect to walk around before or after. I do miss the chips, salsa and fried corn they used to bring as starters but this is a place that never disappoints. read more

The happy hour menu at jaguar was great and served until 7:00 pm. Everything was approximately eight dollars, great value! We ordered the calamari, the tacos, the guacamole, the fish, croquettes, and the pork sliders and they were all really tasty. The service was on point. Very attentive. Refreshingly so. I think we did pretty​ good with our choices. We were both stuffed when we finished and the happy hour to 8pm was a plus. Only thing I wish they had done right was to ​have the​ menu on the street that you look at before coming in be what is on the menu in the house. Fantastic happy hour spot in the Grove! Their drinks are half off and they are plenty strong and very delicious, I enjoyed both the classic Caipirinha and mango Caipirinha. My friend and I also shared four 'Happy Hour Bites' and left very satisfied. Full but not over-full. Half Portion Guac - delicious and so very fresh, although it's not spicy (personal preference) I will always order this Ceviche Tostada - again delicious and so very fresh, we both ordered a pair of these and loved the fish and the ?slaw? but skipped the tostada piece Popcorn Shrimp Bites - we ordered this but the server corrected us that it's now both shrimp and fish, and it's a lot of meat for a happy hour bite which is always appreciated but after so much fresh flavours these were a bit 'too' breaded and salty for us... I think most people would mark this as their favorite though I really want to go back and try the ceviches, I wish they offered a "flight" of all four because I don't know how I'll be able to choose? read more

nice enough I came here for the Miami spice lunch special and ordered the following - 1/ starter - Vuelve a la Vida Ceviche - Seafood Mix, tossed in a spicy tomato based sauce with citrus and habanero, 2/ entrée - Lomo Saltado - Beef Tenderloin cubes, aji amarillo and shoyu sauce, Fresh tomatoes, red onions and hand cut potatoes, Topped with Quail Egg, 3/ dessert -Flan de Queso - Our Creamy Version of this Classic Latin American Dessert, Served with Almond-Raisin Florentine. The service was excellent - always with a smile. Was surprised at the décor though - not sure what style I thought it was trying to conquer - it seemed rather old fashioned to me. Anyway the food in short was good. My starter - was delicious, fresh and is supposedly THE DISH to have to cure a hangover - I would imagine the citrus tomatoe sauce would awaken you! Also what was nice upon arrival you receive very fresh and warm plaintains and purple chips with a nice sauce - which were the BEST I have ever had... The Entree had a sweet quails egg on the top which looked very pretty. The meat was a little tough for me - but the dish was plentiful and tasted good. The dessert - boy it was sooooo creamy! Very nice, like a creme caramel but a lighter creamy touch which I preferred. How have I never reviewed this restaurant? 5 stars for you Jaguar! I have been to Jaguar several times over the last 12 years of living in Miami. It has never disappointed me. I most recently visited earlier this year when I had some work colleagues in town for a 2022 kick-off and planning session meeting. I am cleaning out some review drafts today and wanted to finally post a review for the Jaguar. My work friends were staying in the Grove, so Jaguar was a natural. The ceviche scene outside of Miami is not as big as it is here so I always tend to gravitate towards getting out-of-towners into some of my favorite ceviche joints. We only had ceviche and drinks on our visit. We ordered the Peruano, the Tiradito Lima, Tuna Nikkei, and the Black Market. They all were perfect. They all delivered the goods. All my colleagues were more than satisfied. I was glad I got to share the Jaguar and Miami ceviche with them. Two thumbs up for you Jaguar. read more

They feature an anchovy Caesar salad on the menu and it came with one tiny little anchovy on top and no more. I asked the waiter and he said it was a garnish and I said it was misleading as it's featured as an anchovy Caesar salad. Nice location, outside seating areas, good spacing between tables, cozy ambiance with good shade, all waiters and staff with masks and gloves all the time. 2. Place was full, but was seated within 10-15 mins. Even offered to wait inside in a/c area, very much appreciated. 3. They have limited menu, but great deals. Brunch and lunch ($25 pp 3 course meal), dinner ($35 pp 3 course, plus wine glass!) 4. Food was good, generous portions, nice presentation. 5. Now for the star of the show, the churros dessert! Freshly made, scrumptious, two dipping sauces, the reason we left happy!!! The not so good: 1. Can't stand when you start getting food without your drinks coming out first. Cilantro soup was out in 2 minutes! It was good dont get me wrong, but a bit spicy, so i would have wanted y lemonade on the table. 2. Frozen lemonade... well look at the photo, no lemon, no straw, just threw this one together without any care. 3. Waiter asked if we would like dessert at the end of our meal, well yes... its why i ordered the lunch special?!!! Lol obviously forgot or was holding out on me because it took a good 15 more minutes for it to come out! We were drooling when we saw that plate come out, well just look at the photos... definitely should not be teasing your clients with this.... it's the only reason i might return here!! What was I thinking? I love ceviche, always have... So why on Earth would I order a cheeseburger at a ceviche bar? Not only was my burger cooked incorrectly (I ordered medium and got a very dry, well done), it just wasn't very tasty. I was sure that the chorizo and plantains atop the patty would seal the deal, but I was mistaken. I had a bite of my friends ceviche spoon and was immediately filled with regret about my choice. So much yum in a a tiny spoon! The service at this location was great. I had lunch here with a large party (20+ people) and the staff was very attentive and accommodating. Located right in the Grove, prepare to either waste a ton of time searching for street parking or spending a pretty penny at the adjacent parking garage. Will I be back to Jaguar? Maybe. I mostly blame myself for not ordering correctly...but we live and we learn. I want to give this place a second and fair chance, because like I said - I love ceviche! read more

Been walking by this place for years and finally got to try it today for Miami Spice. Since they had two options for appetizer, entree and dessert, my mans and I shared everything. The shrimp ceviche appetizer was AMAZING. Absolutely perfect in both texture and flavor. The cochinita sliders were good too, but that ceviche blew it out of the water. Entrees were lomo saltado (tasty!) and octopus with quinoa salad (I wish the octopus was a liiiiiiitle less cooked because it was pretty charred in parts). Desserts were flan and bread pudding with vanilla ice cream (both delightful). I started with a paloma sour, which was absolutely incredible (imagine a paloma and pisco sour mating and creating a delicious baby cocktail). The service was attentive and friendly and the atmosphere was lively but not too crowded. Overall, a perfect Sunday afternoon lunch spot. read more

This place was super yummy and has great music. The coupon that pops up when you check in is expired but the manager was nice enough to give the complimentary ceviche which was out of this world. I feel like most ceviches I've tried in other places are alright but the spiciness of this ceviche made it more authentic. The lomo saltado was CHEFS KISS. It was truly a great experience but the only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars would be the fact that the tables were sticky. If you walk into a place and you can just tell a place has sticky tables, that's a big no no. read more

It's hard to believe I've been coming to Jaguar for the past 18 YEARS! I remember when it was brand new and what a welcome treat it was in Coconut Grove. My partner and I went for Happy Hour yesterday and I can say wholeheartedly that its is STILL one of the top restaurants in the Grove. Speaking of Happy Hour, they have 50% off all beer, wines, and a selection of specialty cocktails (the Mezcaltini was my favorite) and a selection of $8 bites such as calamari, tacos, cochinita sliders, ceviche tostadas, 1/2 portion of guacamole, and quesadillas. You cannot beat these prices in Miami! Oh, and it's 4-7pm which is longer than most others. Aside from the beautiful decor that's always been so pleasing, the service has also not wavered from being top notch. One is always greeted with a warm smile and a "¡Bienvenidos!" Of course, then there are the main courses and ceviches which is what put this place on the culinary map. You really can't go wrong with anything on their menu that fuses traditional with new, Latin with Asian, and surf with turf. Oh, and remember, there's always room for dessert! read more

Absolutely delicious food! I was exploring Coconut Grove with my family to kill some time while waiting for a flight and am so glad we made a pitstop here. It's about a 20 min ride away from MIA. We surveyed the area for a lunch spot and Jaguar Ceviche Spoon Bar was an easy choice. You will spot this restaurant from afar while walking down Grand Avenue. It's just off the 3-way intersection, the decor is colorful and vibrant, the outdoor seating packed to the brim for good reason. I imagine it's the perfect spot for dining, drinking, and people-watching. We skipped the patio and found spacious, comfortable seating inside. Their drinks are spot-on (but definitely mojitos over margaritas) and they serve the freshest, most delicious seafood/ceviche I've ever had. Once you're seated, you'll be served blue corn tortilla and fried plantain chips: muy muy addictive and served with a mild, blended salsa. Order any ceviche/seafood here and be prepared to get blown away. I'm remembering the freshness of ingredients, the tartness of the limes, the simplicity in the combination of flavors. What I ordered: Ceviche Spoon Sampler (shared as an appetizer) Passionfruit Pisco** Arroz Con Mariscos We were a party of 4. There was a 20-person birthday party near the back and a retired gentleman sipping a cocktail while reading a book. Families of all sizes and combinations, friend groups, couples on dates. The service was a little slower than I expected (or perhaps it's the laid back vibe?), but then again, we were not in a rush. It was the perfect place to spend a Sunday afternoon. With the prolonged wait on our food, the owner himself came out and brought us the Ceviche Spoon Sampler. He chatted with us, explaining each of the six ceviche options. By the end, I wish I had the appetite to end our meal with something off the dessert menu. I've been to Jaguar on many occasions but the last time I was there, was not good at all! I went to meet a friend by the bar, the bartenders did not come near our side of the bar. After waiting at least 20 minutes, I went over and ask to be served. For better service I figured our best bet was to go to a table, but it didn't happen. Ended up having to go to the maitre 'd to get served. Don't know why their service was so different from the time I visited prior. Sad because I loved it before! read more

From the food, to the service, and even the prices (relatively speaking, Coconut Grove can generally be on the expensive side - Jaguar is reasonable), it checks off all the boxes. Overall positive experience. Went here for lunch on a Saturday and sat outside with my husband. We ordered the ceviche peruano to start. I then had the fish tacos and he had the salmon and a salad. We set out to Jaguar on a Friday night around 7:30PM with the goal of pigging out until late. The place was dark, appealing and since we reserved couple of days before we were able to secure a nice booth. We ordered a bunch dishes and some of them we shared. We had an overall great time( 3 + hours) and the servers were nice. - The best dish of the night by far was the Paloma's De Cajetas. This dessert made of crepe holding inside a mix of hazelnuts, banana, peach, mascarpone, dulce de leche and ice cream was FÏRE. Really impressed. - On the other hand the Tuna Nikkei tasted like nothing to me. I know raw tuna does not taste like much but even with the sauces I felt no flavor at all. - Now the Three Cheese Quesadillas were super super awesome and extra cheesy . I really enjoyed those and so did my wife. - The Churrasco was good. - One of my friends ordered the Picanha but didn't like it. I ended up eating the Picanha as well. It wasn't bad. I guess my friend was expecting something more like churrasco. My other friend ordered his meat rare but they brought it really overcooked which was a shame because everyone was pigging out while he had to wait for his dish. They compensated him with a free bread pudding with ice cream that everyone seem to love but I didn't try because by that time I was very full and going at war with my crepe that was delicious. - The Peruano ceviche I remember it being just ok. My wife thought it was great. I almost forgot, the guacamole with corn tortillas and chicharrones had all of us nabbing for a while. Overall, this is a spectacular dinner/lunch/happy hour option, in a great location, with friendly service- thank you for a wonderful experience! We visited on a day when the restaurant was highlighting mango in many of their specials. Our experience began with Mezcal Mango Martinis- and I was already blown away! They were surprisingly not too sweet, and the smokiness of the mezcal really enhanced the mango flavor. The next highlight of our meal was the mango pork tacos- WOW. An incredible blend of flavors with a slight BBQ taste in the shredded pork, the sweet mango chunks, and the cilantro to round out the flavoring. There were many positives to this restaurant, but I would return for these tacos ALONE (drool face). We also had the black market ceviche which came as a seafood mix, with crispy corn, and sweet potatoes- also a delicious option. The seafood was fresh, and the lime sauce was just the right level of spicy and overall delightful. They have a great happy hour with select food options included at a lower price. The mini cheeseburger (aka sliders) was just okay, and the popcorn shrimp bites were not great- a ton of batter, and pretty bland. The first time my husband and I ordered the Black Market Ceviche (a must try), salmon, and churrasco (my favorite...the meat just melts in your mouth and the sauce is just amazing). The second time we of course got the Black Market Ceviche, salmon (my husband's favorite) and this time I tried their picannha adobada (prefer the churrasco).
