I'm not a super picky person , and I try not to complain especially when it comes to take out food ,but I must say this place was horrible. I had never been there before so it took me a minute to look over the menu all the while the guys behind the counter were trying to hurry me up and were just out right rude. I settled for a steak sub and was highly dissapointed not only did I wait over ten minutes for it but it was soggy and gross. It only took two bites to know I will never be going back to this place again . This is the Jersey mikes on Burbank, This guy just made me the best sandwich of my life. I personally like my food spicy. I ordered the 42 chipotle chicken cheesesteak. All I said was a regular 42 and he said "chicken!" Which I appreciate since I've gotten the beef cheesesteak 3 times from other locations when I've ordered this. I asked to add pepperoni and he told me that's the way he does it.. then he told me the entire list of ingredients be puts on it I'll keep it a secret for now I'll let him tell you. When I heard they were opening a Jersey Mikes right down the street from my house I was beyond thrilled. I've eaten at multiple Jersey Mike's locations and I've enjoyed my meal and experience at every single one except this one. Don't get me wrong, the food is great: Fresh bread, fresh veggies, and lots of customers which means food turn is amazing. The part that kills me about this place is the wait. I've eaten here 3 times now and I found myself asking "How much time do I have for lunch today? I have 45 minutes, I can go to Jersey Mikes". And I have to say, it didn't disappoint. Is everyone new ALL THE TIME?!?! It seems like my order is taken pretty quickly, sandwich started right away (bread and meat) but then it's all downhill from there chaos ensues and everyone loses it. FIFO (First In First Out) goes out the door and nobody has any clue who's sandwich is who's. I watched an employee finish a sandwich for a guy 2 orders behind mine, who showed up 5 minutes after I had already been in line, while my sandwich sat on the counter waiting for the mayo/mustard. I'm not really sure what needs to happen at this specific location but every time I've been here there has been 8+ people behind the counter and only the cashier and the person taking my order know what's going on. Woodland Hills and Burbank are top notch locations and I'm sure their staff could teach Van Nuys a thing or two. Like I said, don't get me wrong... the food is great. Service is sub-par. I love this Jersey Mike's! It's the best Jersey Mikes I have been to, and let me tell you hwut, I have been to many Jersey Mike's locations. Everything here is so fresh. They slice those beautiful meats and cheeses right in front of you, none of that pre-packaged nonsense. The vegetables are fresh and pristine. This store is SO CLEAN. Every time I eat here, there is at least one person cleaning something. I would allow my children to eat off the floor here, and I would join them. Let me tell you about my favorites. I love the Philly Cheesesteak. It is the closest thing I have had in LA that resembles a cheesesteak from Philadelphia (that's Pennsylvania, for those of you taking notes at home). My favorite is the #9. It's like I died and went to heaven. James makes THE BEST sandwich you will ever eat. If you can, go in during his shift. You can't miss him. Friendliest guy you can ever meet. He will take care of all of your needs and make sure your visit is a special one. Everyone there is friendly and fantastic at their jobs, but James goes above and beyond the call of duty.
