This is kind of an odd place. I came in recently for a late lunch and counted 14 employees milling around the place. Some were working, some were just eating or socializing. It's none of my business, but I think this location is overstaffed. Anyways, as far as the food goes... I ordered a #5 "Vito". It was just OK. It was a rather dull boring sandwich. The bread was soft with just the right amount of chew, which I like. But the meat was average, and I didn't even notice if there were any veggies in it; generally forgetful. On the bright side they did make the sandwich freaky fast. No sooner had I filled my cup of water when the sandwich done and waiting for me. Really not worth the money. Their "slim" sub is 6.99 for LITERALLY 3 slices of meat on bread. Nothing else! Seems cheap at first, because you originally think "wow $5 for a sub!", but then it's taxed, and doesn't even come with anything on it!!! Then you pay 75 cents for a teaspoon serving of green food dye that is apparently "avocado". In the end, you end up paying almost $8 for bread, 3 slices of meat and a squirt of something green when you could just go to subway, Bristol farms, even Whole Foods or literally anywhere else for a sandwich actually worth your money. read more

This place is close to my work, so it's very convenient for me to have it delivered. I've had a couple of instances now where the delivery person was rude, and displayed hostility over a tip amount. On this occasion, I tipped a little less due to the fact that my soda is always spilled and a quarter gone because of the delivery. So I tipped a little less, but nonetheless I tipped. The delivery guy got mad over the tip amount and caused a scene. So as he stormed out, he threw the receipt I had signed on the ground and walked out. disappointed.. It was my first time trying this place since it recently opened up in Beverly Hills. I wanted just a regular turkey sandwich, I asked to add mustard in which he told me it was only Dijon mustard and if I wanted yellow mustard they only give it in packets on the side. Also I wanted to add pickles which they had but they only sold them whole and they would cut it up however I wanted but wouldn't put it on my actually sandwich not the mention that they only put about 2 thin slices of turkey on my sandwich as well. Yesterday my girlfriend and I visited this Jimmy John's. The food and the restaurant layout were standard which is what I expected from a chain but one thing that stood out, which was the service. Darryl was working the register and I asked what I can imagine many restaurant workers hate to hear, what would you recommend. He was able to able to make multiple recommendations and go through the menu in detail without even glancing up at the menu. It was impressive and spoke with a lot of passion which made us even hungrier. The food was average, the location was nice, but the service was great. I would never ever give a one star to Jimmy Johns, one of my absolute favorite places on earth, but I had to post on here, hoping the manager or someone will see it. I know they close at 7, I got to the store at 6:56 (which I've done before...they are always still open). The door was locked and one of the employees looked at me and looked away. I kept knocking because there was still 4 minutes until they closed. Finally he decided to acknowledge me and came to the door at 6:57. I said "you're still open for another 3 minutes." He said, "well I already closed." And I respond, "ok but your hours are til 7 and it's not 7." He gave me the same response. I continued saying that I should still be able to place an order. He said no and I left. If a customer comes in, you serve them. It doesn't matter if you close early. And, for that very reason, you shouldn't close early for someone that comes in right before you close. I understand everyone wants to get out and go home but this isn't how you treat a customer, and a LOYAL customer at that. I give this place A LOT of business. There's a very nice guy that works here who knows my order every time I walk in. I'm incredibly disappointed with the customer service I experienced. If this weren't the only Jimmy Johns near me, I'm not sure I'd return to this location. read more

I'm a fan of Jimmy Johns from all the way back when I lived in Illinois and went to the one near my college. My friends and I loved it so much that we have to stop by one of we happen to come across it out here on the West Coast. So I was super excited to eat here when I found it on Yelp. Their slogan is (or at least was) "Subs so fast you'll freak." While I did get my sandwich pretty quickly, it was nothing compared to back in IL. There the sandwich was pretty much done by the time I was finished paying. At this location there were about 7-10 people all standing behind the counter chatting. I remember that there was a lot more cheese and alfalfa sprouts at my old location compared to what I was getting here in B-Hills. Plus my sandwich tasted kinda... fishy? They forgot the mayo so all I had was the Dijon I added which was too much for me without the mayo. I basically ended up with 3 little slices of tomato in an iceberg leaf with some Dijon. I've lived in Beverly Hills for 5 years and am a very frequent customer. For a while my family was a top 3 customer in the city. Weve ordered the same thing for years and for some reason there is a disconnect with the app. The orders never come out right. This place is an INstitution in Indiana college towns. I have so many good late-night memories standing in line late at night at Jimmy Johns, so my husband and I are PUMPED to see them opening a few stores here in LA. Now there's truly no reason to go back home :) Their bread is amazing. They'll even sell you day-old bread for $1 - we cut it up, put it in zip lock bags, and it lasts for a week! Soft. Soft. Soft. I've known people who have worked at Jimmy John's, and I've heard great things about the quality of the food, and the diligence of the workers. Sandwiches come out blazing fast and perfect. Unlike at other sandwich shops, they are generous with their toppings, including the meat - I never have to ask for extra. It's enough. It was really good! The bread was really fresh, I know this is a little strange but the mayo was delicious (Hellman's is Best Foods. Needless to say, I was thrilled when one moved into my neighborhood..... I don't have a lot of options at sub shops since I don't eat lunch meat...so of course I got the veggie sub (2 - one for me and one for my husband). 8" of fresh tasting french bread - loved the avocado spread. I added dijon mustard and the HOT PEPPERS ARE A MUST for some spice. I forgot to ask for onions, though. Drat. Next time. Loved that they offer sprouts. The deluxe veggie doesn't look much different than the veggie sub - I think it's on different bread and has extra cheese - but I am not sure how that's worth the 2 extra dollars? I guess I should ask next time. Got two bags of chips for us and should have gotten one - shareable - two servings! I recommend the BBQ chips. Watch out for parking on Beverly Drive. Your best bet might be the parking garage. Friendly staff. Not many people there midday Sunday so there was absolutely no wait. Looking at these reviews, I wonder if I ate at the same place! I found the sandwiches to be slightly better than Subway and nowhere near as good as Jersey Mike's or Capriotti's. Delighted to find JJs in this neighborhood! Delicious fresh subs with sprouts are my fave -- Country Club with sprouts on French bread. I have an addiction going back five years, when there was a Jimmy Johns around the corner from my old place and ordered delivery all the time. Great location south of Wilshire. Parking could be better, but since I was already there for an appointment, I was stoked to get to have a JJs after that without moving the car. The sandwiches are fairly simple, compare to other sub shops. What JJs does best though is always giving you fresh baked bread, freshest veggies, a great tasting mayo, and friendly happy crew. Second time coming to this location, first time was perfect experience, second time wasn't the best. The person at the register was obviously new and probably didn't understand the system fully completely messed up my order which i wasn't really upset about but when you're pregnant and craving a specific item it can be disappointing. as i ordered a Giant sub with a drink and chips and customized it to my liking. he did not charge me for the giant combo but for a normal one as well as charging me for a couple other things that i didn't order also added a few things onto my sub that i didn't ask for. which can happen to anyone as i know how stressful it can be to be the new person learning a entirely different job. it seemed that 3 of the guys were brand new and the one who seemed like a supervisor or manager who i've seen before was the only one there to train them. he noticed that i wasn't completely satisfied with my order and offered to completely make me a new sandwich. he also ended up needing to close the store temporarily because they got so backed up with online orders and because he was the only one training he couldn't help everyone at once. definitely a understaffed location. my husband would like me to add to the manager/ supervisor he loves him lol. read more
