This has become our go to place for office lunch. There's something fir everyone and the delivery makes it convenient for those of us who have trouble finding time for lunch. Ive found my favorite thing on the menu. The butter shrimp salad. The bug fat juicy seasoned shrimp on tossed treens with nice pickled radish. Omg sooo good. I like the shoyu dressing but my colleagues like the spicy aioli. The best thing is you get both with your order so you can play around with the flavors. Have had Jolene's on my list of places to try and finally made it to their Ewa Beach location. It's a small space, located in the Laulani shopping center, in old Teddy's spot and next to Rainbow Drive-In. Everything on their menu sounded so delicious but ended up getting an order of the brisket fries and the buttah shrimp salad to go. Less than 10 minutes later we were notified that our order was ready. The shrimp was cooked to perfection and I enjoyed both the house and oriental dressings for the salad. Been having there lobster rolls for a long time since they only had there down town location now closer to home in ewa beach. I've switch from lobster rolls to lobster melt both is good but for me melt over rolls. They also have other food items in the menu to try but in all it's been good. Once you go in at the Ewa beach location the crew there is welcoming and takes your order with good manners even on phone and I must say the cooks are pretty quick to on getting the food out. Let me start off by giving our order taker Heather a high five for her friendly and effeciant service. I ordered the Pastrami Melt , my wife had the Crab Roll. The Pastrami comes on thick sliced toasted bread. Filled with a good amount of cheese and pastrami. This sandwich I would buy again. As for the Crab Roll It had a soft bun and tasted good. 11/08/23 - I can't believe I spent $20 on a sandwich. I had the lobster melt with brown sugar milk tea. It was very surprisingly good and tasty. Not greasy or over mayonnaised. The lobster actually tasted like real lobster. Now I know why cost that much. The milk tea was okay. It was more tea with a hint of brown sugar but smooth. This is my first review on yelp and I felt that it was well-deserved. I ordered a birria cheese melt through UberEats for the first time, and noticed that the consommé dipping broth was not in the bag when I went into my home. I called the store and the workers went out of their way to personally get the sauce delivered to me. And even threw in a free birria wonton plate. Both were completely amazing and did not disappoint! The birria was so juicy and melted in my mouth! My kids loved it as well! So glad that they delivered sauce but took a bite of the cheese melt and it was just as good by itself; the consommé was the icing on the cake though! Also, I usually order their lobster roll or lobster cheese melt with corn chowder. Love it! I frequently order their drinks as well. Their Thai tea with condensed milk walls as well as their brown sugar milk tea and brown sugar cookie butter with boba (my kids ask for it alll the time) and it never disappoints! By far one of the best Thai teas I've tried, which is why I keep going back! Also, food is ALWAYS packed with care! Lots of parking, when we went and it's conveniently located in the corner, can't miss it. Upon entering we were greeted by the employees and since it was our first time, we took some time to study the menu. Of course we ordered the lobster rolls, a beef sandwich and won ton appetite, (sorry can't think of the name) which consists of meat and cheese. The food was delicious and I enjoyed it. Yikes, overdue review! Tried them when they first opened and have gone back at least a dozen times since! Yeah, shame on me; I thought I reviewed already!! Seriously everything we've had here is soooo good but let's step through what we've had! The queen of all sandwiches, the lobster roll. I treasure each bite of this amazing sandwich! Cost wise, well, it's lobster lol. But I can honestly say, while I can't have this every day, I most certainly would if I could! Buttah shrimp roll is my hubs' go to. Shrimp is the only seafood he eats so this is what he gets when I get the lobster roll. Just as good, but shrimp version. Birria cheese melt, so full of gooey cheese and delicious meaty filling! The birria sauce is the best we've had (tried 4 others from here to Honolulu) but I do prefer if it was a bit thicker. Birria wontons taste very similar to the melt except crispy shell instead of buttery bread. So it depends on our mood which we get. Lobster melt is probably our least favorite primarily because you can't taste the lobster as well when it's wrapped in all the cheese. Still delicious but not AS delicious as the other menu items we've had. Pastrami melt puts a Ruben to shame. Drool city. The warm zesty pastrami, melded with the bold cheese flavors and sweetened with the caramel used onions, soooo good! Brisket melt is just as drool worthy but in a less tangy and more smoky way. BBQ Brisket moco. Oh. My. Gosh. What a great rendition! Classic is still going to be my fave but if I'm venturing into a more unique moco flavor, this is definitely high on the list! The brisket is so tender and smoky flavorful. And the gravy is clearly blessed with that rich goodness from the brisket trimmings! BBQ brisket fries... not our favorite way to have the brisket here as it's probably the least juicy version of the brisket moco, brisket melt, and brisket burger. They do warn you that the fries don't necessarily travel well if you're getting delivery and I would say that is accurate. Much better fresh from the restaurant. And last but not least, the papa smokes burger... 2 patties, slice of that juicy brisket, bacon and fried egg (by request), and more of that gooey cheese. When we want a burger delivered, this is the one we get! Oh, and can we agree that the Jolene's paper bag is so cute!? Very sturdy for those hefty meals! Ok phew, did I convince you to try them yet? Once a month we treat ourselves to a delicious meal at Jolene's Ewa Beach. Located at the Laulani Village in Ewa Beach. Lots of parking and open from 10 am 8 pm everyday. From the moment you enter the restaurant, I found it to be a rather cute little-comfy place to dine. Lots of choices on the menu with seats that could probably accommodate small groups inside and outside of the restaurant. I especially like ordering online for pick up. The last time I came to this location it was during their grand opening. So several years ago. Recently, I was shopping in Safeway and I was thinking of eating here for lunch. I remember that my husband and I chose not to come back to this location. During the grand opening, the food was not memorable at all. I checked the reviews for Joleen's and I went based off of that. Most of the reviews on here are 5 star reviews so it must be good right??? I had ordered two things. I ordered a hamburger steak and I ordered a roast beef sandwich. Where do I begin on the hamburger steak? They do not know how to prepare a simple local dish. The rice was so soggy that I thought I was eating oatmeal meal. The rice smelled spoiled and sour. I moved my hamburger patty to the side and realized that the rice was soaking in some type of vinegar. I was thinking to myself was this meant for people or slop to feed it to pigs? This hamburger steak was not edible at all. The ground beef had a funny taste and the gravy was a disappointment. Let's not forget that vinegar rice. I was dry heaving just smelling the plate. I than moved on to the sandwich that I purchased. I could have gotten a better sandwich at Subway and paid half the price. Not even the waffle fries were memorable. I wasted almost $40. I couldn't even give the food to my dogs. Unfortunately, this location is a no for me. I will not be returning here again. I honestly don't understand how this location is getting a five star rating review? Unless this is the employees or family members leaving the reviews. After the experience that I went through with the hamburger steak and the sandwich, I am still trying to find out how most of these reviews are rated 5 stars. We also got a fried chicken sandwich with curly fries ($15.00) Our takeout order was ready quick. The food was packaged nicely as well. The salad was pretty good, it was a bit peppery for my liking though. The shrimp was bomb. The chicken sandwich was huge. There was two pieces of chicken. The sauce was tasty and flavorful. I read rave reviews of their Chinatown location. My son gave great reports of their airport location and had me try their Birria wonton. So, I decided to give their Ewa Beach location a try since it's right down the road from where I live. Grilled cheese (the best comfort food, IMO). You can't mess up grilled cheese and their sandwich was well-prepared. Birria wontons (Ewa Beach location): The meat tasted like REGULAR beef stew meat. Not birria stewed meat. The portion placed in each wrapper complimented the wrapper only because it (meat) was less than 1/4 of the wonton. The birria broth was a letdown too. Mind you, this is comparing it to the airport location who gave you your money's worth. Do you know what is more disappointing? This is my first review of 2022 and I rarely ever write mediocre reviews. Three stars because they prepared the order quickly and the grilled cheese as always comforted me. We ordered the buttah lobster roll and the birria/consommé melt. With a couple drinks it was nearly $50. On the menu it says you can make it a combo with various sides for a discounted price. However, drinks are sold separately. Doesn't a combo usually come with a side and drink? Lol The buttah lobster roll was good, it had actual pieces of lobster, sitting on a slaw in a toasted bun. Not sure it was worth $22 though. The birria consommé melt was mmmm EXTREMELY oily. I couldn't even finish the other half, it was too much. I took a bite and the bread was oozing with oil/butter. The girl working the front area touched her face and rubbed her eyes several times and then proceeded to handle food. There's a sink right there. Yikes! I've been meaning to try Jolene's for the longest time. Went to the Eva Beach location and they did not disappoint. The cashier was super sweet and very informative. There were so many amazing choices that it was hard to choose. Overall, between the three of us, we got the pastrami and brisket and birria melt. Since it was my first time dining here, the staff member took the time to go over the most popular items in the menu from each of the categories (melts, rolls, and sandwiches). She was very friendly, informative, and patient. I decided on the BBQ brisket melt and added on a toss salad. I was hesitant to order the melt because they are usually very greasy/buttery...but this melt was PERFECT! The Japanese milk bread was buttered and toasted to perfection. Everything was prepared and flavored well. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because of the side toss salad...it was small and a little wilted, not worth the $2 add on. I like the food and service is usually great. However last time I went in girls in the front were more interested in drinking Starbucks and talking story. People who ordered after us got food before us but staff said they had no control over whose food made first.
