I don't know what is wrong with the people who have been writing reviews about this place. I live a few blocks away from this place so I've always wanted to check it out, but had been turned off by all the negative reviews about the wait time, food, and service. Last week a bunch of us did a juice cleanse from a place downtown, and I really wanted to jump start my healthy eating, so i decided I'd give it a chance against the odds. Boy am I glad I did. This place is FANTASTIC. I had the Dark Side of the Shroom - a marinated portobello mushroom stuffed with kale, cauliflower, pinapple, peppers, and covered with a delicious cashew garlic sauce. It was the most delicious healthy meal I've ever had. My boyfriend had the 1/2 nekkid burrito, and it was great. Very filling - he could only finish half (with some of my help). The smoothies are fantastic too. We ordered the rainforest, and it was perfect. Everyone seems to complain about the service, but everyone there was super nice. Yea, it can take a little bit of time, but its all made from scratch so what do you expect? I think that because you order form the counter people think this is fast food - its not. AND IM NOT HIGH (lame, i know....) ) She gets all maternal on my ass, because i want an entire bowl of cashew hemp soft serve (you read it right.) with granola, but shes like " the acai bowl is better for you as well as being nice and sweet.....its popular......people crave it..... " the coaxing was a taxing yet pragmatic approach from her end. All i need to impart on you, the reader ( my reviews are transcendant, huh? :oP ) is that SHE WAS ACCURATE. hemp granola, a thick, smoothie style base of acai berries with bannanas and apple juice, bannanas on the top and hemp seeds. Large and a bounty of contrasting, flourishing aspects. I went over to the then open other avenues, and came back to drop the tip my frugal heiny forgot to elicit from my normally impervious fiscal headquarters. For a pint of produce frappe, the asking price is a vociferating stream of coarse teletubbie terror dipping directly into your retirement fund. Today was my first time at Judalicious, and it will be my last. The items were on the pricey side, which is okay if their customer service was actually decent. However, this was one of the worst dining experience I had ever had. My friends and I ordered our food and smoothies, waited for 35 minutes, and nothing came out. Three waves of customers came by and received their orders before us! We went inside the store and talked to the cashier several times, and the cashier told us it will come out soon. Lies. We ended up getting a refund. We have wasted our time and the only thing we got was "sorry too bad" from the cashier. Ridiculous. Came here after an Ocean Beach cleanup event and was pleasantly surprised by the very soft and creamy soft-serve. Most of our group ordered the smoothies. The Tidal Zone was not bad...blended drink comprised of apples, celery, dandelion greens. Sweet, with a zing from the celery. I use to buy the dandelion greens for my rabbits (^_^).....since I was feeling a little drained, I ordered the Green Flash and immediately wished I had not. I can tolerate the strong spiciness of wheatgrass, but the daikon and ginger emanated a sort of savory touch to the drink. It reminded me of a marinade. Whenever I come here I order one of the following: the exodus with no kale, the soup mahendra with no kale, or the acai bowl with added peanut butter, goji berries, coconut flakes, and cacao nibs. Adding toppings can get pricey but it it completely worth it in my opinion. I love the granola in the acai bowl! This place can get extremely busy especially on the weekends with the line going out the door! I highly recommend calling in and placing your order by phone ahead of time so you don't have to wait as long. Whenever I call ahead the order is usually ready by the time I get there unless they are super busy. I like ordering my acai bowl ahead of time because they keep it in the freezer for you. I love my acai bowls on the more frozen side and not so melty! There is indoor and outdoor seating. Seating can be very limited, especially on busy days. This place is one of those places that I pass by a lot and think, "Hmm...I should try that place sometime" and never really get around to it. Motivation hit when my parents came into town, and being that they're raw food enthusiasts, I finally had an excuse. My boyfriend and I were actually really surprised. The food was good, filling, and best of all, we weren't hungry for THE WHOLE DAY after that. Seriously, we went w/out eating for like 10 hours and thought, "Maybe we should be hungry now." According to my parents, they said that if your body gets it's fill of all the essential nutrients, it doesn't feel the need to crave something. I must have still been high from my experience at Feel Real to agree to pay $4 for a dish of vegan vanilla soft serve. It was good but not worth the $4. There's another flavor that wasn't available and I might have considered paying $4 for it (Mexican chocolate sweet spicy concoction). I'm only giving this place 3 stars because the atmosphere was really laid back and I felt very comfortable and welcome. It also seemed as if it had other good things to offer (smoothies, coffee, tea, cafe food, etc). Oh yeah, and it has this corner lounge w/ pillows and nap-time stuff. Let's start off by saying that I loooooooove raw foods! I love Cafe Gratitude and Alive!, and I have been just about dying to give this place a try. Since I'm dogsitting nearby, I decided to take a nice bike ride to Judahlicious and test it out. I had the Danuh burrito, and it was delicious! She gave me half with some kind of soy sauce, and half with some kind of wasabi sauce, and asked me to tell her which I liked better. The wasabi won, hands down. It came with a spicy little side salad that was good. I also had the Sunset smoothie, and it was pretty good. Nothing to write home about, but good. The place is cute, it has a nice little hippie vibe. The staff could be a little friendlier, but they were quirky nonetheless. It always kind of freaks me out when I go to Cafe Gratitude and the staff there is practically screaming happiness at me, so I didn't mind. I've been a vegetarian for years, and always wanted to try this raw/vegan spot. Well, a hot Spring day which had me dripping in sweat provided the perfect opportunity for that. I was QUENCHED and just wanted some fresh, cold, juice. With juice combos and smoothies this was the perfect place for that right? WRONG! I ordered a carrot/beet juice, and left with a grimace as I took my first sip. It was fresh for sure, and yes, it was juice, but it most certainly was not COLD! Come on people, this is BASIC stuff! Two words: acai bowl. It is the absolute best I have found in the city, thus far. I have yet to try something I did not love here. The entire menu leaves you feeling satisfied and excited for your next visit. Review update Nov 5 2019: I'm adding one more star because the restaurant reached out to me after reading my review. I always appreciate when a restaurant takes the time to reply to a customer considering their busy schedule. I look forward to going all the way up to 5 stars if their service gets better, since as I said in my original review, I love their food and that's what makes me coming back. Original review: I love their food (this is why I keep coming back) but as other Yelpers wrote...their service is the slowest ever...it can take you even 30-40 mins to get your order (and not when it's peak time, which I would understand). On top of that, people who work there seem constantly bothered and annoyed. Recently I saw on their Instagram they were going to launch a vegan pizza. I keep asking when it's going to be available. Every time the answer is "No word on it". Who answers like that? Today, on top of my usual long wait, one of the guys working there (3 total) was coughing all over while cooking. I understand that you don't want to miss a day of work, but at least put a mask on! I really hope the owner starts paying attention to all these comments and does something about it. We were reassured that our food was almost out, only to have to check in again 10 mins later to be told, "actually were out". Very rude about the whole thing, we called the manager and he was just as rude as the server. "Hope you have a better experience next time". No thanks, what a waste of time. This place deserves a 4.5! I really only come here for the acai bowl because I'm pretty much obsessed, but otherwise it's really expensive. The first time I came here I almost wanted to walk out and not pay the 11 dollars for the acai bowl, but when I tried it I knew It was all worth it! The fresh taste, mixed with absolute crunchiness is perfect. It's such a good boost of energy for the entire day. I generally order it to go and the portion is HUGE!!!! A 50 minute wait for a smoothie. Need I say more? I really want to like you Judahlicious, but you make it dang near impossible. This has to be the most inefficient kitchen I've ever seen. There were 5 people working on a Sunday afternoon, and they filled 1 order every 8-10 minutes. While waiting, easily a dozen customers came to check on the status of their orders. I find myself returning here at least twice a month, usually as a Saturday morning treat. The Acai bowls are just too good. Like, really really good. Pro-tip: I strongly suggest a bit of syrup with the acai bowl. You can order their (super good) maple syrup for $3, which I think is a bit steep, but honestly worth it. read more

I love going to Judahlicious in the summertime when it's nice out to have a good smoothie or Acai bowl. Normally when I come here, I get their Acai bowl and add additional fruits on top ($1 for each additional topping). Their portions are great but I definitely think it's pretty expensive. Parking is also horrible and hard to find if it's a busy weekend. I normally have someone come in with me who will order while I drive around/ wait on the side. Overall, I would recommend this place to anyone who loves a good, hearty Acai bowl and delicious smoothies. They also have delicious vegan burritos according to my cousin. read more

Who ever said vegan food wasn't good? They obviously have never been here. Probably the best acai bowl in the city. You also get it to go which is nice if you choose to take it to the beach. Oh, Judahlicious... How you disappoint! I live in the 'hood, and I've been a loyal customer, but more and more my experiences with your food are disappointment-ish, rather than delish. But let's start on a happy-ish note? The açai bowl is a tasty, healthy treat. I've been told by staffers that it's their most popular item, and I can understand why. They also sell artisan vegan nut "cheeses," and other tasty vegan desserts. So now here's the rest of the story: Nearly all of the food on the menu is spicy. That's not inherently a bad thing, but apparently the owner likes things to be VERY SPICY! The chili (which is rightly labeled as "hot!") does not have any discernible flavors other than, well, HOT! The Breakfast Burmosa (only available on weekends) is nice, but has too much curry. The Half Naked Burrito suffers the same ailments. The smoothies are ok, but that's it. Just ok. The juices are also ok, but not a lot of variety is offered on that front, and they're a bit pricey. And I admit that I write this review grudgingly because I really, really want to love Judahlicious. A raw, vegan restaurant! I wasn't quite sure what to expect here and went solely for a smoothie. However, hubs was hungry so he got the 1/2 nekked burrito which was DELICIOUS. He wouldn't have known it was vegan if it wasn't advertised as so. One thing I wish I would have seen were pictures of the food on the menu. I wasn't sure what to expect with the dish since most of the ingredients were completely new to me. I had a really small dish pictured in my mind with a $10 price tag...and that definitely was not the case. the burrito was large and included a very nicely sized side salad. the quantity is worth the price, especially considering the quality. My smoothie was also delicious, but nothing I couldn't make at home. All in all, I'll probably be back, especially given the amount of time we spend in this neighborhood! read more

I haven't written a review on Yelp in over a year, but what happened yesterday left me so disappointed. I have a love/hate relationship with Judahlicious. I've been coming here for a long time. I mean hell, I'm their most frequent customer("duchess") according to Yelp. I bring my friends here whenever I get the chance, and their Acai bowls are the best in the city. I don't think I even really need to go in depth about their food, because let me tell you, everything is amazing. They cover the spectrum of raw, vegan, and vegetarian. The smoothies and juices are all so heavenly, I find myself trying to recreate them at home all the time. They also offer raw treats and desserts such as cookies, cakes, and brownies. You can also purchase bags of super foods they have on display. If a restaurant's job was only just to sell food, then Judahlicious would be 6 stars in my book. But spewing out orders comes with customer service. And the customer service here is inconsistent and disappointing. Orders can take up to 40 minutes, and that's if they don't lose your order. Yesterday I came here with a first timer. I was so excited to bring him here because he's never had an acai bowl before, let alone vegan food. We placed our orders and patiently waited. They told us it would take about 15 minutes, and that was okay. However 30 minutes has passed and it got ridiculous. After asking them about our order, it turns out they had lost it. They gave us a free cookie, and went back to work. Another 10 minutes rolled by when they finally called our names with the wrong orders. We placed our food to-go and they made it for here. So the girl took it back to repackage our acai bowls and came back promptly. The cups were roughly 2/3 filled and were already half melted. And on top of that, she STILL got my order wrong! I had asked for mango as a topping. By now, we were already there for 45 minutes, and I just wanted to bounce. Neither of us got what we paid for. My boyfriend and I came here on Valentine's Day after a peddle-boat ride at Stow Lake and oh boy, we were definitely hungry! It's a really cute spot, with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. There are benches around if you can't find a table. You order at the counter and they call your name out when it's ready. The wait was a bit long but it was such a nice day out that we didn't really mind. I ordered the Exodus and my boyfriend ordered the Dahnu wrap. Both were really good! We traded half-way because the exodus bowl had soooo much food I couldn't finish it. It was filled with brown rice and vegetables but the sauce was the best part! It was salty, sweet, and reminiscent of a stir-fry sauce. The sauces on the Dahnu wrap were also really decadent and it was hard to believe that the filling was raw! We each also ordered juice and to be honest, they were really expensive! Which is to expected I guess, but I'll definitely just juice at home next time. You do pick up your own food and bus your own table here btw. Maqui Berry-Milk Smoothie - texture was grainy, I expected that. Taste was watery with a very slight fruit aftertaste. Actually the other person noticed fruit as an aftertaste. I tasted nothing at all - no flavor. Sunset Smoothie - very good, creamy, sweet and full of flavor Dark Side of the Shroom (this is the filled portabella mushroom cap dish)- fantastic! Wow, this one tasted fantastic! Good to the point of I want the recipe but not the work. I'll be back just for this dish alone. Nahbo Taco - Meh. I don't actually like sweet curries so I didn't expect this to be a favorite for me. So to review it for the person I was with, he said it didn't have enough flavor/spice for him to really think of it as a curry. It was okay, if you like a very slight indian taste on the sweet side with no spice than it might work for you. The Sherpa Sandwich had a higher recommendation so perhaps I'll suggest he try that one some time. Nori Wrap - too plain, a side of wasabi and ginger might have helped this one but the wrap was really plain and the sauce just okay - mostly salty. I'm not big on one note dishes. Ice Cream / Raspberry Vanilla Swirl - the raspberry part was good, the vanilla needed more vanilla. It was sweet but not overly so. Watch out for the melt down though it gets grainy if you don't eat it still frozen Jungle Acai Bowl - good, not what I expected but good. Basically a cold fruit sorbet/mousse with granola. OK here's the story... I was eager to check this place out because it has vegan and gluten-free options, and because they sell Ping's desserts. (Ping's been coming to our neighborhood farmers market every Saturday with her gluten-free, vegan desserts. At the moment, she's on maternity leave. We love Ping and her desserts.) We decided to try the naked burrito; a vegan, gluten-free smoothie; and some vegan,gluten-free chocolate pudding. Well, I am in the middle of eating the chocolate pudding--which is smooth, creamy, and just delicious--when I see one of the food servers with his gloves on answering the phone and taking notes with pen. Handing stuff over the counter. And, then grabbing handfuls of greens and putting them on plates along with other final touches of dishes that are coming out from the kitchen. Basically going about a lot of business with his gloves on and handling food in the meantime. I found this unappetizing. The guy making my smoothie pretty much kept to making smoothies, so I drank the smoothie--and it was delicious (and yes so was the pudding). I didn't eat much of the naked burrito, because I think the food server probably put the final touches on that as well. Anyway, my husband ate the burrito and he is still alive. He liked the burrito. I do not want to give this place a bad name because I think they have a great concept, and I would go back for the desserts and smoothies. But I do think the manager needs to sit down with the young guy and just tell him the deal. (There was another guy kinda doing the same thing. Perhaps, one of them could answer phones and the other one could do the food handling.) Gloves are not like aprons. Probably no one will die. But it's technically incorrect. I went today to have açai with my friends and had a not so good experience. My friend and I both ordered the açai BOWL for here, and I got my açai in a CUP while she got it in an actual BOWL. When I asked why I didn't get the BOWL, they pointed at my cup and said "that's the BOWL". I mean, wtf? Are we discussing semantics? If I order a bowl, I expect a bowl. And If we order two bowls and only one of us gets a cup, you can say what you want, but my guess is that you screwed the order. read more

Best raw ice cream! I'm not one for sugary, processed sweets. My friends all know that. Just walk in to this cafe and you will be offered a dollop of yummy goodness. There menu is small, but the food is yummy. Keep in mind that raw food is HEALTHY and are not abundant in calories. So your body will process this pretty quick and you might get hungry in an hour or two. However eating raw is very BENEFICIAL! Last but least, try their raw pizza and their smoothies. read more
