Salt Bread, Sweet Cream, and Signature Salt Matcha Latte.
    Cindy Z.

There's a reason why salt bread has become so viral. It's so perfect because of how simple, yet delicious it is. I especially love it at Justin's because they don't turn their salt breads into any other flavors except for a dip add-on, which isn't really even necessary. Plus, the space takes you to Asia with the tatami mats --perfect for hanging out. I ordered the 3pk Original Salt Bread ($12) with Sweet Cream ($1), and Signature Salt Cream Matcha Latte ($7). I do appreciate that they don't charge extra for oat milk and the cream made the matcha much sweeter though I could live without this. I also didn't think the dips were necessary as the bread is so perfect on its own. Since there's a high turnaround, you're getting bread hot and fresh from the oven which makes it even better. It's the crispiest and fluffiest thing you'll eat. These are also more of a skinnier and longer shape than the ones from Salt Bread Ko, but I like how for their simplicity. Definitely worth the hype!

We stumbled across this salt bread bakery and had to try their famous salt bread. FYI definitely order a side of matcha or sweet cream for dipping, it takes the bread to the next level. The bread came out warm, buttery, and delicious without feeling too heavy. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to try any of the drinks. You order at the cashier, then either find a spot to hang out or grab your order to go. The bakery has both tatami-style floor seating and a few regular tables with chairs. If you visit, don't skip the salt bread with the dipping cream, you won't regret it!

I've had this on my bookmark list, got a chance to go, and it did not disappoint. A fairly comfortable bakery shop located downtown. It gives more of a coffee shop atmosphere. You go inside, sit down, grab some delicious bread and coffee, maybe do some office work, chitchat with a friend. Service was quick! You order through this big tablet and grab a number and just wait for your purchase. The bread was so good! It reminds me of freshly made pan de agua from a Spanish bakery but it's softer with a slight taste of sea salted butter without it being a greasy mess. Now greasy mess is not bad in this particular case lol. The price was good for three pieces. You can order a coffee drink etc. I definitely recommend and will return. Two thumbs up! Happy Yelping!

This salt bread is so buttery, soft and crispy and deliciousss

Wow! This salt bread was amaaazing! Super buttery, soft and crunchy. Highly recommend it! Wow so delicious! This salt bread felt like a korean+japanese hybrid. It does not taste the same as the famous one from korea (jayeondo) & was more flavorful buttery than the japanese ones - nonetheless it was very delicious it its own way. Their signature salted coffee was also very delicious! Tons of indoor seating & the vibes were very laid back and relaxed inside. Bathroom is downstairs near the front area where you pick up your items.

We visited on a Saturday afternoons and there was a short line when we arrived but it moved fairly quickly. The salt bread is delicious, the best small treat and the cream was also phenomenal. We were lucky enough to find seats but it seems like it can get busy in here!

Great atmosphere with traditional Asian sitting area. Love the vibe! The bread is so delicious. Hot and fresh! One is not enough, need to buy the 3 pack to save money and feed the addiction. The coffee is absolutely delicious as well, perfect temp and can't go wrong. Definitely splurge on at least one dip for the bread. I got the sweet cream. Salty sweet action happening and you won't be sorry for doing it. Cheers

If you've never had salt bread before, I recommend starting off by visiting here! The warm scents of freshly baked bread, the buttery and lightly salted bread just melting in my mouth..I regretted not getting more to share. the matcha we got balanced off the bread with a hint of sweet and bitter green tea (depending on how sweet you like your matcha). We sat on mats in the back and there were stations for syrup and condiments for your matcha. it was a vibe and there were lots of people.

Deliciously hot and fresh salt bread with the perfect cream pairings. Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and there was no wait. They have a cute lounge area to enjoy your treats; however, the AC wasn't the best on a scorching summer day. My husband and I got a set of 3 salt breads with the classic cream as well as a couple matcha lattes. Highly recommend this place for your salt bread fix!

No line at 10am on a Tues and ordered with a kiosk at the front. Cashier was really helpful in recommending the salt matcha iced since I was debating between iced and hot. Interior had nice lighting, lots of seating options, and light minimalist decor. Salt matcha latte had the right amount of salt and wasn't too milky once mixed - cream top added good full texture to the drink and even though I ordered without sweetener, it didn't taste bitter nor diluted. Straw provided on request. Salt bread - the original was DELICIOUS. It was served warm and buttery with plenty of salt sprinkled on top and a crispy bottom that added a slight crunch before getting into the soft flaky bread inside. Such a great way to start the morning, would definitely come back to order again. Note they limit the orders to two packs of 3.

A definite must-go in lower manhattan. Somehow the salt bread is both plush and crispy at the same time. It isn't greasily buttered, and it isn't toooo salty. You can tell the tried and tested their breads to perfection. My partner said the chocolate dipping sauce was "insane" but I prefer the bread alone. The tatami mat seating is such a cute touch. I really appreciate the care they put into the small details within in the shop. This isn't just a pick up situation--they offer a peaceful refuge with dappled skylight seating against a classic NY brick wall. We went last month during our trip and are still talking about it to this day.

TL;DR: Lived up to the hype, but we didn't have to wait in line Stopped by here on the way to dinner (around 4:30PM) on a Friday. There was still a lot of people inside, and they have a good system in place. I know it is just salt bread, but this was an elite piece of bread and spreads. I personally don't like to stand in lines for too long for viral food, but I would wait at least 30 minutes for this. FOOD: ~signature salt coffee (5/5): so good. I got this iced, and it was slightly sleep with a nice contrast with the salty foam on top. Only thing is it was a little hard to stir, and I wish they had straws to better stir/drink. But once I got it stirred to the perfect amount, it was delicious. ~Salt bread (5/5): perfectly buttery and salty. It was nice and warm and just so pleasant. The spreads were also the perfect whipped texture and not too sweet. Would definitely recommend! But not sure we would wait a long time in line for it (personal preference).

The ABSOLUTE best piece of bread I've tasted in my life. This place could thrive off this one item alone. Their butter salt bread is perfectly crispy, yet extremely fluffy on the side. It's also just the right amount of buttery with a pinch of salt for a miraculous flavor. Honestly could see this place blowing up with several more locations, if they can maintain the same quality. #377

Justin's Salt Bread is well worth the hype - in fact, I think it's the best salt bread in nyc! In terms of texture and flavor, it tastes very close to the famous jayeondo salt bread in Seoul. Very buttery and pillowy and tastes perfect warmed out of the oven. The place itself is larger than I imagined for east village, with a good amount of seating.

The Mango and Pistachio looked so realistic and mirrored the flavors perfectly. I love the size of their cakes which are perfect to share with a group of 4. I indulged in their Black Sesame Mochi Cake and Blueberry Chiffon Cake which both have the fluffiest sponge cake base, a fluffy vibrant cream, and fresh ingredients and fruit. It felt like items weren't made with care and mass produced at a factory or something. I went 10 minutes before they closed and there was still 10+ of each dessert. I'm not convinced that they will dispose of them. Even if they do, it means they didn't do a good job in forecasting demand especially after being in business for multiple years. I ordered mango and yuzu. Both were too sweet and had one dimensional flavor and textures, not refreshing per their stated flavors. Even if their appearances take effort, they don't look pretty enough for me to forgive what goes in my mouth. I'm used to having patisseries with many layers and elements. Mango's sponge probably only took up 20% of the bottom, because I barely had bites of it. Most of my bites didn't have any. I didn't like how liquid the filling was. It didn't exactly ooze out but just melted into a puddle in my mouth. Yuzu looks pretty with the pink and yellow glaze, but it didn't go with the realistic fruit theme. I chose it for the flavor combination which is strawberry, yuzu, and guava. This was slightly better in terms of flavor variety in the mouth. The flower on top had a weird off putting flavor. The bottom crispy rice apparently is supposed to be chocolate but it came out plain. It was tasteless anyway, so not effective in terms of flavor or texture.

I had to run to work after an appointment so I ordered for takeout. The person taking my order was friendly. I opted for the Lumberjack and a black cold brew. I received the drink very quickly, with a short wait for the sandwich. While waiting, one member of the staff stocking up supplies on the side started chatting with me and then she offered to check up on my sandwich. She came out with it shortly thereafter. She was very friendly and helpful. The sandwich held up well during my 15-minute commute to the office. It is a really indulgent sandwich, with each bite revealing the sweetness and butteriness of the maple crueller, the saltiness of the thick cut bacon, and the savoriness of the cheese and the eggs as the yolks popped. I sipped the cold brew in between bites to cut the richness. It was a very satisfying meal. The Lumberjack is not something I would recommend you eat every day, but it's good as an occasional treat. In the past I've ordered lunch from Daily Provisions via delivery (the "Chefy" salad and the chicken milanese with arugula salad are my favorites), but I might start adding other breakfast sandwiches to the mix.
