They rolled a generous amount into a container and I used scissors to quickly and easily cut it. It was a perfect lunch and I have enough for another tomorrow! For $8, or $11 for a generous tuna scoop, you can't beat it. Staff is also quick and friendly at the deli, as well as checkout. I followed up and called Big Ange's mainly to let them know about the missing BBQ sauce issue just so it doesn't happen to others or to clarify if customers are supposed to know to ask. I spoke to the owner Rocco and he said sauce is normally provided for the Barbarian platter, and it must have been forgotten, and he apologized. To make things right, he graciously offered a complimentary sandwich upon my next visit and took my name. Well, I was in the vicinity today and swung by. Rocco not only gave me a 100% tip-top delicious brisket sandwich, but also a side of potato salad, and a bottle of their BBQ sauce to boot! I offered to pay for the sauce which was such a nice gesture as well, but he declined. Wow! Rocco is the youngish and energetic owner, and the Eatery is actually named after his Mom. He's been at it here since they bought the property back in 2012. Great place, great food, and we will always be fans, and will visit again sometime.

It had a good flavor w/ a nice kick of heat from the habañero aioli (but not spicy in the typical habañero flavor sense). The pulled pork was delicious in taste and texture along with the toppings of muenster cheese, the habañero aioli, red peppers, red onions, and avocado. I should've eaten only one half of the sandwich but I couldn't resist having more, so I finished it. The panini was darn delicious. I liked the restaurant's cozy dining area with outside light coming in. They have a nice patio area as well which would be perfect to sit at on a nice weather day. They had complimentary coffee which was nice. The staff are reasonably young. Probably late high school or freshmen in college but that doesn't mean they can't do a good job. Overall, I don't know if I'd recommend this place to everyone. Im conflicted. I like big portions and quality foods of course, and this was great in flavor, just pricey. To reference the surrounding area, I can go here, or to Emits across the street which is consider the finest dining in downtown Palatine past the Argentinean Bendita and Bella Pizza, and spend around the same amount of money. Still the best panini I've had in a while though.

I went to this restaurant because a friend of mine told me it was good last time he went their and it was a different restaurant for me to try out. Little did I know the last time he went their was a year ago. I went their with a friend of mine, we both got something different. I got a meat lovers skillet and a coffee, he got a omelet with sausage, cheese, tomatoes, onions and broccoli in it and a water. The cream i put in my coffee was bad, it curdled. I asked for a new coffee and cream, it took the waitress 20 mins to bring me a new one. The skillet was terrible, there was very little cheese on it and the cheese that was on it was way over cooked it was hard and crunchy. The bacon was extra extra extra crispy, it was so crispy it didn't taste like bacon it tasted like i was chewing on a tooth pick. The ham was really dry and the sausage was so bland it had no taste the same goes for the sausage in my friends omelet. Both mine and my friends potatoes were under cooked and unseasoned that it had no taste. My friends omelet had a tint of black to it which tells us that it was either over cooked or it was cooked in a dirty pan and if thats the case i am completely disgusted. The omelet was very bland he couldn't taste anything in the omelet except the broccoli. The Pancakes that came with my skillet had no taste what so ever and was extremely gritty. Even the syrup i put on them had no taste, it didn't even taste sweet. My friend and I didn't even eat half the food we got, we tried about 1/4 of every thing that we got and realized that it all sucks. When the waitress brought us our bill she didn't ask us if there was a problem with the food or if we needed anything, she just dropped the bill on the table and walked away, NOT EVEN A HAVE A NICE DAY. What terrible service. Katie's Kitchen is the worst experience in every way I have ever had when it comes to restaurants. We paid the bill and went to Ihop that we were passing by on the way home and had a way better experience in food and service. read more

We have been to Katie's Kitchen multiple times. It is very good! My daughter's and I went today and I would say don't go here on the weekends. We have had great service and food during the week for breakfast and today was very disappointing. We actually had, if I am not mistaken the owner herself waiting our table and we were checked on once after we had gotten our food. The bus boys (3) passed our table many times never noticing our empty water glasses or finished plates. We were given the check and not asked how the meal was. When going to pay I wasn't even asked how everything was and shared my disappointment with the women at the cash register she really didn't even care that I had a complaint, not even an apology when I told her we learned out lesson to not come on the weekend it just wasn't like during the week. She only concurred that the weekends get really busy. She was very unfriendly and very unconcerned about our disappointment to the point of being rude. The server we have during the week is wonderful but I really will have to consider going back with how the older women just really gave me the impression of to bad so sad attitude. Being a restaurant owner myself I hope all small businesses do well as we put our heart and soul into our business but if I had customers feeling that they were treated rudely by the staff I wouldn't expect them to come back and hope that they would let me know! Gave this place another shot after a few years away, was hoping they would of gotten their act together by now, apparently they're just too ignorant to realize how terrible the service and food have gotten. We were seated quickly, but didn't see a waitress come to our table for probably close to 12-15 mins.....Ordered a meat lovers type skillet, scrambled eggs were terrible, I don' t know if they used old eggs, or if its what they cook them in or on........gross. Hash browns were also burnt and overly crispy, I know some people like them crispy but not burnt.... I'm honestly shocked the place has stayed in business as long as they have, the service is one of a kind ignorant! and most the waitresses looked shady, almost unclean. Next, the price..........really? I couldn't get over how over-priced this hole in the wall is compared to some great breakfast places that charge 35-40% less. Last, we had to put up with some old man in a booth behind us with some of his friends, we think he was one of the owners(at least he acted like he owned the place), anyway these filthy pigs were swearing, talking about this girl, that girl, this jew, that jew....it was very uncomfortable for us to have to eat and listen to this jerk. Katie's was everything I heard it was going to be and more! It definitely has that special something that sets it apart from other restaurants. The breakfast menu has all the classic favorites, done better, like their award winning cinnamon toast (Voted 3rd Best in the Chicagoland area by Chicago Magazine & my favorite) and unique dishes like Acorn squash and eggs and breakfast potato skins to die for! This family owned restaurant exudes passion and authenticity by literally having their hands in everthing from "Joe's Ceasar Dressing" to sandwhiches made "Mike's way". When I found out they are open for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays, I came in with my family and the owners were quick to recognize me. Not only does Katie's have an A-list wait staff, but the owner's are genuine and hospitable. The dinner entrees such as the homemade meat loaf and macadamia encrusted tilapia are AMAZING! Great service and great food. I had the Potato Nest, which is basically a bacon, cheddar and onion omelet surrounded by hash browns. Interesting way to serve it and it works very well, a very filling dish and it was cooked just right. My wife and father both had the Cinnamon Swirl French Toast which has been featured a couple times in Chicago magazine and for a good reason! They make the dish using cinnamon rolls as the base for making the French Toast. Sure, it might seem more like a dessert but it's a decadent breakfast treat! Both my wife and dad raved about it. My mom had the Crab Cake Benedict and loved that as well. The menu choices are plentiful and there are many dishes that are unique to Katie's which makes this a must try place. Awfull Reservations for 11.00am Told we would have to wait another 45 mins. Ok it was Mother's Day. Then people started leaving. They had been waiting at tables for over an hour and a half with no service. Communication from ownership was terrible. Bordered on rude and I don't really care. Gave up in the end after an hour which seamed to be what most people were doing. Of note was that carry outs and catering services were getting their food! This used to be a great place will not be going there anymore. Make reservations at your own risk they don't mean anything. Better still make a reservation somewhere else where ownership treats their customers better. read more

I have to throw another "yes, it's amazing" onto the pile. Katie's Kitchen is hard to describe, because the cuisine goes from bistro to diner to cafe to near fine dining - it's all over the map... but it's all GOOD. The kitchen team is inventive, and the food isn't just served, it's often "plated." Then you get the check... and it's diner prices. Seriously, this place is ridiculous (oh... and they have Mountain Dew which is really hard to find in the Chicagoland area, and a picture of Castle, AKA Nathan Fillion AKA Captain Reynolds/Hammer. Visited Katie's Kitchen for the first time & the last !!! Arrived 15 minutes before closing & was immediately told we needed to order right away. Then we were rushed & stared at to the point that it was very uncomfortable. Don't be in business if you don't want customers coming in late in the day. I mentioned to the hostess how uncomfortable a experience it was with a apology that wasn't very sincere. The food here has kept us coming back for awhile but enough is enough. Service is horrible and owner clearly shows she couldn't care less about the customers. The place is ridiculously busy on weekend mornings and they routinely say they'll accommodate families who try to phone ahead for a reservation. Unfortunately they always wait until you have made the drive and arrived with your group to inform you that the wait is an hour and your reservation is no good. There are too many restaurants around to waste time at this one. read more

This restaurant is great. We come here just about every Sunday religiously and the food is great, the staff is great. The only thing I must warn you is the wait because it seems this place is always packed. It would be great if they could offer more space to accommodate everyone since it seems they are almost always busy but hey, what can you say, that speaks for itself. Read & heard good things about this place, well i was not impressed at all with the food or the service. My food was cold when brought to my table when i tried to get the waitress back to my table she was nowhere to be found. When she finally came back i informed her about my cold meal she said she would have it heated up. By the time the meal came back my wife was almost done. Just by scanning the menu this place appeared to be very pleasant. It was not easy to choose what to order which turned out to be a very cool challenge! I went for the Meat Lover Skillet and Fries. They came in just right proportions for my hunger, the taste was on point and every component had a certain luxurious combination of crispy and soft impossible to describe. Love Katie's Kitchen!!!! The food whether it's breakfast or lunch is fresh, appetizing and always a generous portion. The restaurant has a comfortable interior and the waitstaff is friendly and efficient (no matter how busy they are). I only wish they were open more in the evening. I could maybe understand the subpar food if the place were busy but we were only one of two tables in there. On top of that, we were overcharged for our meals but I wasn't going to argue over a few dollars, I just wanted to leave. So having said that, we will definitely not be back and will stick to our favorite breakfast place that is always consistently good.

Do not order the coffee, it tasted terrible, as if it were burnt. The server was very friendly and attentive at first. But when the food arrived, he didn't check back very often. I had to flag down another server for a takeout container before he came with the check.

The food and drinks actually feel like they are made by people who care. To the owners and staff, please keep taking pride in your work. Reward your workers accordingly (of course you have to make a profit, otherwise it's not worth it). And don't let the quality slide. My daughter said was way better than Starbucks. So that's a compliment from her world! She said 10 stars. The potato that came with the avocado toast was excellent. Perfectly seasoned. The side of turkey bacon, a little dry. But that's usually how it is.

Equally good. Both had large portions. I had the Russian Reuben. It was like 3X the size of a traditional Reuben sandwich one might get dining out. I was barely able to eat a third. It was huge beyond huge. It was spectcular. I wasn't sure corned beef would blend so well with turkey but both meats did. Sumptuous! The Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, Russian horseradish sauce and 1000 Island dressing on top - OMG - it was so unbelievable! $2.00 more - you get your fries and soup (choice of 6 - wow - what eatery has 6 soup options)? The onion soup was $1 extra but who cares? It was all a ton for the buck. The basket of tasty dinner rolls upon arrival was delightful. Our waitress Terry was excellent thru and thru and worthy of a large tip, which we obliged. We got free refills on our drinks too, a big thing for us. We were all totally pleased with our visit and will be sure to return at least once or twice before moving out of state later this year. We wish we could clone this place and take it to where we all are moving. I truly don't understand those whining here and their posts. Everything we had was good throughout. If I had to nitpick, I would say the French onion soup itself was average and not rich but the large crouton in the soup and abundant melted yummy Swiss cheese well compensated with the grated topping over the cheese incredibly tasty, making it over the top. The raspberry iced tea could have been a bit sweeter but it wasn't bad either. And you automatically get water delivered to your table, a rarity among diners today. And yeah, I get to a degree the 3% (rounded off) card charge but when you're spending $80 to $100 for gargantuan portions of great food, come on, who really cares about an extra $2.50-$3, chump change? A church friend of the family told me she and her husband go to Omega periodically and recommended it. So this evening we all went. And not one bit disappointed. 24/7/365 diners are a dying breed these days but we are so glad Omega is still around and I say long live the Omega. A shout out to the crews working here as well as the owner.
