I never drive out to Fullerton, it's 40 minutes away from me but this place looked really interesting and I was not disappointed. It's a small place and noise level is loud. I love the decor - the lighting, the brick wall, the industrial exposed ceiling, and the presentation of the food is amazing. I admit one of the reasons I was drawn to this place is the pictures of the Pani Puri. I've never had one before and was told it's normally more refreshing and minty but this one was on the spicy side. I enjoyed it but it was not refreshing, lol. Actually, the food here is not traditional at all, it is an eclectic modern spin on everything and I loved that. My party and myself liked all of the food and it's unique twist. Oh and I don't drink alcohol so I was very impressed they have a full page of mocktails, "beers", type options! The portions are a bit small for the price but I feel it's worth it for the overall whole experience. I highly recommend it, especially for a date night or small group. If you're looking for quality steaks. Look no more. Great spot for halal Australian Wagyu Steaks. They have a great selection of steak cuts. Ranging from $20-$150 steaks. I selected the Kiwami Boneless Ribeye steak, requested a medium well, but turned out to be well done. My mistake, I suggest going medium on the steaks. Great tasting beef came with a side of tomato purée and a very small portion of delicious buttery mash potatoes. (5/5 Steak) Chicken 65 was sweet and had a kick of great kabob spice. The texture was crispy/crunchy in every bite. If you like fried fusion of sweet and spicy, this is a must. FYI It's Not your everyday traditional chicken 65. (5/5Chicken 65) Sloppy Khans - the pav bun was soft, buttery and complemented the ground beef well. The ground beef had a bit excess oil that was soaking through my pav bun. The beef is packed with a flavor punch and I recommend this dish. Maybe you can kindly request to go easy on the oil. (4/5 Sloppy Khan) Lamb Biryani- My family is from Hyderabad, India - home of the worlds best biryani. I have to say I know a little about biryani. The biryani here had paki style to it. It was delicious, however it did lack salt and lemon. The lamb was juicy and tender, not at all dry. The rice was piping hot when it came out, keep in mind it will take 25 min extra for this order. Here's the best part! The chef doesn't over spice with pepper corns, cardamons pods, cloves, cinnamon sticks or even fennel seeds. I was actually eating the biriyani in peace without the search and rescue of these unnecessarily over used spices. I feel that people can relate to my biriyani struggles. I highly recommend trying the lamb biriyani. It's delicious, full of flavor and without the over spicing that most chefs do. Here's a plus- Not at all oily. I(5/5 Lamb Biriyani) Pani Puri great flavors and awesome presentation- - 5/5 Staff 6/5 The staff here is friendly. All wearing masks and kept a fair distance from each other. The servers were too busy checking out other female guest and were so obvious with the way they were staring at her like they never seen another female before. It made us very uncomfortable the way they were drooling over her, not professional at all and that guest felt it too. Please teach your servers how to behave when they are in the work place. The food was horrible. The bhel lacked flavor and was so dry. The lamb was over cooked and lacked flavors. The biryani had big chunks of cinnamon sticks. Felt like they just threw everything in pot without even cutting and or chopping them properly. They gave kulfi in a water cup and falouda in a whiskey cup. Cannot believe this is a Michelin star. Working in the City of Fullerton I try and make it a point to try new things within the city. I always see this place packed at night, especially on the weekends so I decided to try it out for a early dinner. I ordered the Chicken Karahi and it was amazing! The pictures on here don't do it justice. The pictures make it look small, but it is big enough for two. It pairs well with the garlic naan and the basmati rice. I like spicy and this dish has a kick so if you don't have a high tolerance for spicy, beware! Serivce was excellent and the server recommends a couple of dishes for me to pick from as I told her it was my first time. Let's talk about what was great - the service! Our server was very attentive and kind. The food was presented beautifully and the (virgin) cocktails were interesting. That being said, this place is quite over-hyped and the value for the price is not worth it. The flavors are flat and not authentic. The kabobs were too dry and not seasoned through. Trader Joe's butter chicken is probably better. The presentation is great for your Instagram, but if you want real south-asian food then there are a dozen places out there that serve fantastic food. read more

I can't brag enough about this place. It's clean, appetizing, and a warm environment! The food was equally presentable and delicious! They were very attentive to our likes. The bindi and chicken tandoori was my favorite, very flavorful and fresh! The appetizer cart was adorable and full of flavor. Wow! That's truly how I felt after finishing my meal! Everything we ordered was extremely tasty! 10/10 on their attention to detail, creativity, and all their presentation! The non-alcoholic drink menu was so extensive I wish I could have tried more but the mango mojito was perfect for a warm summer night. We loved the way the Pani Puri was served, it was definitely a creative way to present such a fun appetizer! The smoked beef was absolutely mouth watering! The flavors all mixed so we'll together and the smokiness was a great addition. Its definitely a bit spicy, but so worth getting. I would have liked it to be just a little bit more tender. The NY strip with the chimichutney also tasted really good! Great seasoning on the steak and cooked perfectly as we asked. The lamb Rogan Josh was also so flavorful, it tasted like a homemade meal but just super high quality and the meat was super tender! You can't skimp on dessert, they have a variety of dessert options and we tried falooda and the double ka tukda. The falooda wasn't your typical falooda, so I actually really enjoyed that it was a little different but still tasted great. And the double ka tukda was melt in your mouth soft, but still had some crunchy textures and just overall delicious! I was very impressed and hope to come back and try more!! Given the COVID times we are in, the restaurant was very good about spacing tables 6ft apart and all servers were in masks and gloves, so we felt comfortable dining in. We ate dinner at Khan Saab Desi Craft kitchen and it was wonderful. We sat outside and it was the first restaurant experience where we ordered at the table with a server post Covid. The staff was very kind and helpful with ordering recommendations. Having tried and enjoyed many Indian restaurants in the area, we found this to be amazing! The goat cheese kulcha was so savory and comforting, the shrimp masala curry was wonderfully rich, and the Afghan seekh kabob was delicious (recommended by our waiter as one of their specialties). I love this restaurant, there was a line out the door during the first month of opening, so that's a tell tell sign of a great business. I tend to not to go to new restaurants after they first open, as I know they need to figure out the kinks and get customer feedback, but these guys know what they're doing. Heard about this new desi restaurant that opened up about two weeks ago. Was really excited to try it out and it did not disappoint. The customer service was amazing! Upon entrance we were greeted and seated in a beautiful area by the mural painted on the wall. The staff was so friendly and attentive. The food was delicious! Some of my favorite dishes of the ones we tried, one being the steak. So divine! The spice rub to create a crunchy outward crust on the steak was perfect! The steak was mouth watering and delicious, like butter lol! The smoked kabobs were really tasty as well! Beautifully presented encased in a glass dome filled with smoke! Makes for great ig pics. Lol. Perfectly seasoned and paired with naan, amazing! The pani puri shots were not only good but the presentation of it arriving on a mini cart added to the aesthetics. The only thing is I do wish the portion sizes were larger. I would suggest they increase the amount of food per dish considering the price customers pay. The mocktails were also fun to try! A variety of flavors were available. Overall, my friends and I had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back! Really had a great time for my wife's birthday. We love Indian food but the menu includes Afghani and Pakistan influences with a modern touch. The signature dish, Khan Biryani, was really good, cool presentation at the table, but can be pretty spicy for some. It comes with a yogurt? based sauce to cool it down. I used little of it but my wife used quite a bit. Delicious. My wife had the Butter Chicken. We both enjoyed this dish, however it was different than versions we've tried at Indian restaurants. We enjoyed that though. For appetizers we had the Pani Puri, Sloppy Khan and Goat Cheese Kulcha. All were nice. The Sloppy Khan was my favorite. The meat filling was less saucy than a typical sloppy Joe type sandwich, and had more seasonings. It wasn't dry, but had the perfect blend of spices, onion and fresh sliced jalapeño. My wife loved the goat cheese kulcha, I liked it. It came with some Butter sauce to dip or drizzle. The flashiest app was the Pani Puri. It makes for a great photo or video. The idea is unique, ingredients were great. You take a shot glass of cold tamarind liquid and pour it into the puff and finish as one bite. My wife and I both were a little thrown off from the liquid being cold. We're used to savory flavors being hot or room temperature. I wonder if I would like the dish better that way? Regardless, it was fun. I would recommend all the dishes we tried and we will come back with friends. There is more on the menu we would like to try. Khan Saab Desi Craft Kitchen is located in Fullerton, Orange County, California. Khan Saab brings cuisines from Pakistan, India and Afghanistan to create fusion dishes in a fine dining setting. You can see that Chef Imran Ali has put a lot of thought and effort into the menu and the restaurant as a whole. They are one of the few (and first in the area) to have a non-alcoholic bar. The interiors are tastefully done with a heavy Pakistani influence evident. The seating area is quite large with tables well spread out. An outdoor seating area is available as well. It's a welcome change to come across a Pakistani Restaurant not setup in the usual "hole in the wall" style. the place does get packed in the evenings and reservations are required. We tried most of their specials and best sellers. For drinks, we ordered a Mango Mojito and a Naswari. Both the drinks were well prepared and very refreshing. The Naswari was a unique drink for us and we loved it. For starters, we tried the pani puri and the Sloppy Khan. The pani puri was good and tasted just like the ones I've had back in Pakistan. The Sloppy Khan is a street style keema pav where they use Wagyu Beef for the keema. Both were good, and I would recommend them in a heart beat. We also tried the smoked Beef Kabab. The meat was perfectly tender and the presentation was quite unique. For mains, we ordered the Butter Chicken and Nihari with a side order of Naan. The Butter Chicken is on the milder side and good for those who don't prefer their food to be too spicy. I personally prefer that Nihari have a thick gravy, here the gravy had a much thinner consistency but didn't taste bad. One thing we missed the most in LA is good desi Chai. Very inviting, beautiful decor, tasty food, not overwhelming with Taste, the small portions, the way it's presented is very catching to the eye, as they say " the eye eats first", this is definitely true in this restaurant. Most importantly the service is beyond amazing, you will have one server, but definitely all of them will stop at your table with smiles asking if you needed anything, they are very knowledgeable about the food being severed & the menu in general.
