Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic restaurant. I cannot express how much I adore this restaurant! This restaurant is officially on my favorite list. The happy hour for oysters starts from 5pm and ends at 7pm. The waiters are hospitable, friendly, and funny. They also have a combo with fried chicken and a pitcher of beer starting at 5pm and ends at 8pm. The waiter was so nice that they offered us 2 pitchers worth of beer!!! *during pandemic* -Decided to dine upon initial opening for the day to avoid a long, treacherous wait. Ordered Booldak Chicken w/ Cheese, Raw Oysters, & Intestines. The oyster specimen exhibited lengths equal to my index finger, intestines exquisitely crisp, and the cheese pulls were absolutely stunning. I enjoyed this place very much. We got there at 6:45pm on a Saturday. We got lucky and found street parking, but they do have a parking lot for valet. It was clean when we walked in and they had basketball playing on tv in every room. My boyfriend and I took advantage of their happy hour oysters and ordered some alcohol drinks. Oyster was $1.25 each during happy hour. We also ordered their tortilla pizza and stir fry gizzards. My boyfriend dislikes chicken gizzards but it's one of my favorite dishes when I drink alcohol so it's a must order for me. Came during happy hour to meet up with a friend. Overall the food was good and $1/oyster during happy hour was nice. What I didn't like about the restaurant: The menu was a laminated two sided printout, and it was so sticky and gross I couldn't touch it. This is one of my pet peeves when I go to a restaurant. I don't know how restaurants expect to make a good first impression when you're handed a dirty, sticky menu as soon as you sit down. Also it was bizarre, but they do not sell any wine by the glass, bottles only. The waitress looked at us like we were weird to request wine by the glass. She even asked us why they would do that since they wouldn't know what to do with leftover wine in the bottle. ??? In all my years of eating at restaurants, high end, low end, whatever, I've never been told that. I don't expect tons of options when drinking by the glass, but usually all restaurants have at least one white, one red for customers that do not want the whole bottle. My friend and I ended up ordering beer instead, but it was just strange. Menu consists of wide array of food, cajun food to japanese fusion pasta dishes like mentaiko pasta. Note to self: stop ordering the garlic Brussel sprouts! I love Brussels sprouts, but I'm sick of 'em. I love this place! The MENTAIKO PASTA is the shizznets! The sauce is impeccable. The pasta is perfect al denté. You can taste the garlic. I love their soy garlic wings. The crispy texture and light flavor... The honey nutty wings are good too, but the soy garlic is a notch better because of it's savory essence. Their plum wine is delicious like juice, not like prune juice so don't worry. The black raspberry wine tastes just like the plum wine, so if they're out of one, try the other. The service is always good and the ambience is really laid back and chill. Mentaiko pasta is the dish that YOU MUST GET. Pasta is not my favorite thing but it got me. I will always try their pasta whenever I come here. I don't know what to feel about this place... I had the pound of shrimp and Cajun fries and it was reeeeeeally good. It tasted really similar to boiling crab, but was better because the flavor was a lil deeper and there was no wait. The Cajun fries were just decent. The problem is that my sister has the jambalaya pasta, and it was pretty awful. The sauce was a basic tomato sauce with a bit of an... alcoholic taste..? The worst thing is that all of the seafood in the pasta had a super fishy taste, and the clams were vreally undercooked and gooey. Happy Hour Oyster Special: $1 per oyster and must get a minimum of 6. Honestly, the ones I had were pretty tasty and matched up to the quality of EMC oysters. I can't remember which ones I got on top of my head, but it's basically the chef's choice of the day. Carbonara: Originally comes with bacon, but I asked to switch that out with chicken instead. They do the switch for an additional charge. I love that the cream sauce was super light and didn't induce a food coma afterwards. Bool Dak: This was the bomb.com. Definitely meant for sharing. Who could say no to a huge dish of tater tots, chicken and cheese! The chicken is spicy but it could be modified. As for the other elements that was the norm. Tips: Valet parking is $3. I knew of this place for so long, but for some reason, never got around to going. I am glad I finally decided to try it. The service is good from the beginning and the servers were very attentive. My friend and i were seated in the "outside area" which I actually prefer on a nice day so that was a plus. At first the place seems really small when you walk in, but then you soon realize there is a large back area. There didn't seem to be many people seated there, but it probably opens up when it gets busier. Overall, the atmosphere is good for an after work outing with friends. When it comes to food, the food is definitely tasty and their happy hour specials are pretty good. I believe if you order a pitcher of beer you get a side of wings included (yay!). We ended up ordering the wings and the fire chicken with fondue. The wings were tasty and the fire wings tasted really good. The only thing I will say is that those fire wings are super spicy, even if you ask for something between spicy and mild. On the bright side, they taste really good, but you may cry a little. Located next to Caffe Concerto, and sharing the same valet service, Kitchen Sooda was formerly a restaurant called Korean Chicken House. This place is now converted to a Louisiana style seafood restaurant, and competing against Boiling Crab and Holy Crab in Korea town. They really changed the ambiance and overall quality of the restaurant. Before, this old "house" like restaurant really needed a makeover. Now, they renovated the whole place with new lighting, furniture, and even younger, quirky servers. My gf and I came here on a week night and there was no wait at all. We were seated outside by a heater. Our server was super friendly and made good recommendations for food. I believe they had 50% off for beer and soju. Score! We ordered the Cajun fries (missing from the menu), a pound of shrimp, and the jambalaya. The Cajun fries were flavorful and yummy. The Shrimp was also good. For seasoning of the shrimp, we got the medium, and it was the perfect amount of spiciness. Unfortunately for the jambalaya, they messed up our order, and we got the Maintaiko Pasta instead. It consisted of spaghetti pasta with Pollack roe and sauce. I think this pasta was creamy and good. But my gf didn't like all the roes in the pasta. They gave us a complimentary soju for messing up our order. Overall, I left the restaurant happy, and will be returning. This place is a good alternative for the always-busy-and -hectic Boiling Crab. Came here w a group of runners after a Monday night 5k run. The place was completely empty until we all arrived. I thought hat we would be in and out because there wasn't any customers but I was so wrong. The waiter acted as if he couldn't understand anything we were saying. Each time we asked for a pitcher or a bottled beer off of the menu he gave us a confused look. It was almost as if he didn't understand English. Then I spoke with a female and it was the same out come. We sat here for 25 minutes without at least a glass of water. My friends and I decided to visit Kitchen Sooda because I told them about the $.99 oysters from 5 PM - close. Being oyster fiends and a bit sad that it wasn't EMC's happy hour, they made it a point to visit here. Good news everyone! $.99 oysters are now all day! Even better news! The oysters are actually bomb and large and meaty. I normally don't even like oysters but between the three of us, we managed to devour 3 dozen (5/5). We also ordered shrimp tacos (2 for $6: 4/5 - the accompanying sauce is HOT so don't be too generous at first), elote ($6 or 7: 3/5 - kind of a rip off for 1 cob but otherwise good), sweet and spicy korean style chicken wings ($12?: 4/5 - yummy but let them cool down 'cause they come out hot af), roasted brussel sprouts ($7?: 3/5 - not too much flavor but comes with ranch), and sweet potato fries ($6?: 4/5). The food was overall very good but the menu is kind of all over the place and random. They have oysters, Korean bar food, Korean chicken, Boiling Crab-esque seafood, etc. My friends asked what kind of restaurant it was but I didn't know how to properly answer. The service was also pretty prompt. It's easy to flag your waiter and they come over pretty quickly. We had some buff Korean dude and he was super cool.
