[[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a cozy place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The owner is really nice and accommodating. We ordered baked green mussels and cucumber salad to start. For our mains we got the philly roll, lobster roll, and scallop roll. Green Mussels- The mussels were fresh and baked in a mayo sauce, finished with eel sauce. Savory with a slightly sweet finish. Cucumber Salad- This dish makes a lovely palate cleanser. It is zesty, with a light crunch to the cucumbers that give it a layer of texture. Philly Roll- The fish was fresh and meaty. The cream cheese filling and avocado gives each bite a lovely creaminess. Lobster Roll- Crawfish pieces were fried until crisp but slightly chewy inside. The sauce is rich with a slightly sweet finish. Scallop Roll- Scallops are nice and tender. You get it mixed with a generous amount of crab and topped over california rolls. Great experience overall!

Highly recommend checking out Koco sushi! Their extensive selection of creative rolls is amazing. We kept ordering more and more because everything was so great and hit the spot. Highly recommend trying out the playboy roll and seared salmon! I believe the owner and her son served us and they were both super sweet and attentive. It was sooo hard finding a sushi party platter in Orange county until I saw this place on yelp! The quality and quantity is reasonable for a party platter I got the tray d which come combine with tray c for $130 i believe. It was good and fresh. The service was so nice and friendly. Enjoyed the hot night roll, tteokbokki, and Jun roll. Street parking on the side of the building and would definitely go back for a quick sushi fix. Quick service with friendly staff members. Didn't have to ask for refill in water or wait long for the food.

The Fresh assorted sushi, tasty crunchy roll, tiger rolls, teriyaki chicken, chicken karaage & salads are beautifully prepared with flowers and entertained all of our office staff! They're ready for another sushi lunch for another event. Great food!

The food is always extremely tasty, there are never any leftovers when we come to this restaurant. The service is quick and ambiance is always pleasant. You can tell that the store owners have been running this place for a while as they're a well oiled machine. My fav item is usually the standard spicy ramen + a sushi side combo, which is just an awesome deal. Would always be willing to come back, great vibes, tasty food and reasonably priced!

This place is so consistent and delicious. They have a wide variety of rolls and sushi options and options for people who don't like fish or raw seafood. I personally love the Santa Ana roll and the unagi have also ordered the salmon skin roll and salad both are delicious as well the albacore roll is awesome too. The service here is the best sense of friendly place easy parking my new favorite sushi spot.

This place was amazing! I can't tell you if I've ever left a yelp review, but I spent 2 weeks in Japan this summer and this is the best sushi I've had since. This restaurant has become one of my favorite places to visit. The prices are very reasonable, and the quality of the food is consistently excellent. I especially enjoy the Spicy Edamame, fried calamari, and yellowtail carpaccio. In fact, I would say their Spicy Edamame is the best I've had in Orange County. The owner and staff are always very friendly and welcoming, which makes every visit a great experience. Highly recommended.

I LOVE sushi and that's an understatement for me! I have tried most sushi places in the OC (which is a lot) and this one is by far the best. They have the freshest sushi and sashimi like it just melts in your mouth and does not have a fishy or salty taste at all. Their menu is straightforward which I love and it's not overwhelming. Now, besides the food the service is the most comforting! I feel bad I've been there so many times and haven't gotten the women's name who is always there but she is the sweetest and always so happy! I'm sure it's family owned by her and whoever the chef is because the chef who makes the sushi is always the same man and I love that because it's always consistent! Even if you're not in the Santa Ana area you have to make the trip to this place! read more

Popped into this small mom and pop location for a quick bite and I was pleasantly surprised. I came for dinner on a Thursday and there was only 1 other person ordering food. Prices were fair and the sushi was definitely worth the money. I was surprised it wasn't busier. Sushi was fresh and generous and even their spicy tuna rolls were higher quality than most spots. Definitely would return. Only con is street parking is limited and it's a small location read more

It's POGO FEST! So y'all know what that means... walking around like crazy, trying to catch them all! We ran out of energy after the gem fest and when B drives, he drives straight toward home so the best stop points are on the way home. Thankfully a highly rated sushi spot showed up so we showed up! Kind of quiet around 4 pm which works out better because it's street meter parking only. I think their chicken karaage was too heavy on the batter and deep fried 1 minute too long. Might I suggest to try using cornstarch or rice flour? Hironori has a really good batter, very light. We went for the mango spicy roll and Cajun spicy roll. I love mango on my rolls. It adds a lot of freshness. I like how the Cajun was torched a touch! If I'm back in the area, I'll come back. Service was very conscientious and kind. I think it's def a mom n pop business. I like the ambiance as well, they took their effort to brand their restaurant and it shows. read more

Came here on a sunday afternoon, boba milk tea here is sweet and tastefull, giving good vibes as I inticipate as the food is being prepared and the delicious smell forms that of a hand and pulling at me like a hand comes out of pies in a cartoon show. I've worked at Santa Ana Civic Center for six years and this location has gone through a couple tenants. This is by far the best restaurant that has been at this location. I'll go the distance and say it's the best affordable sushi place in the DTSA region. The restaurant is extremely clean and the staff is very pleasant. I got the Chirashi Bowl, which is usually my go-to at most sushi restaurants. The fish was extremely fresh. I tried some of my friend's barbecue, and the beef was extremely fresh and tender. If you're familiar with the Orange Roll restaurants around the area - which I'm a big fan of - I'll say that it's on-par with those in terms of quality and price. Needless to say, I'll definitely be back to fill out the stamp card. 10/10 read more

Always enjoy trying new places and supporting small businesses. I'm a big fan of sushi and am always looking to see how different restaurants put their own spins on food. Most places are the same and it's rare to find a place with its own unique twist. I haven't tried everything on the menu but from the few rolls I was able to try, everything tasted great and was fresh! I had the chance to try the Koco roll (why not try the roll named after the restaurant right?) The Koco Roll ran me $14~. It's a California roll with shrimp and scallops on top (I think..I have a terrible memory). Would recommend! Of course also had to try a tempura base roll so I went with the Hot Night Roll which ran about $12~. Huge fan of spicy tuna so...easy option. I'll probably be back for lunch another day to get their bento box combination since it'll be a good to go work day meal and I saw that a 3 item was $11.99. I'm a big fan of crispy rice so that's in my sights for the next visit. Will be back for more! read more

I personally love sushi and was very excited when Koco Sushi popped up within walking distance from me. It's a very convenient location and from the time it opened, I wanted to try their food and support them because restaurants in this area don't seem to last. I'm glad I started going because this restaurant is one of my favorites and the staff there are incredibly nice. It's a small business, but you can tell they care a lot about their customers. There is usually one hostess and she remembers my name from going so often My go-to order is usually their two-item bento lunch with spicy tuna rolls and shrimp tempura. I love how the bento lunch is presented and the spicy tuna roll is the right amount of spice for someone who actually doesn't eat spicy food very often lol. My mom usually orders the Hot Night roll which has spicy tuna, shrimp, and cucumber. My mom is not usually a big fan of sushi so it's a bit surprising she has a favorite roll She has also grown to love their gyoza which is always warm and crispy when we order it. I'm glad this restaurant opened near us so I could get her to try more things with me. Below are pictures of our orders which we took home today. My mom and I look forward to continue being customers at Koco Sushi and trying more of their menu. read more

I've come 2 times for lunch and gotten the 3 items combo! I got the yellowtail, spicy tuna, and katsu chicken once and the teriyaki chicken the first time. I didnt like the teriyaki chicken but the katsu chicken was really good. The service is really good! The woman is so nice! The restaurant itself is small but really cute. It was good and I would definitely return when I'm craving sushi since it's close to me. read more

Went to check out Koco Sushi today for lunch. I got the 3 item combination bento with beef bulgogi, yellowtail roll, and veggie tempura. It came with miso soup, salad (great dressing too), rice, and salted edamame. The portion size for the beef bulgogi was good and had the right amount of sweetness to it, not too much. The yellowtail roll was very fresh and had a nice sized chunk of fish rolled inside. The tempura was soo good and had a light and crisp batter to it. They put a lot of care and detail to the bento and the service was good! I would definitely eat here again. read more

I give good reviews to this place because the server was very attentive, the eel and avocado combination was very nice. Basically sweet soft fish flavor along with the creamy of the avocado. Rice texture was good. The amount of sweet vinegar was just right. From my experience, a lot of other places over do it with the vinegar and make it way too sweet. As for the salad, they put in the exactly right amount of flavor in it. I had experience with other places putting too much salt in the sashimi this is very well done. I'd say healthy because they don't overdo it. Keep up the good work. I was here august 4rth 4:44pm so I hope the manager can give good props to the workers on this shift. read more

I've sat at the bar every time so I can't say as how noisy it would be sitting at a table. Making a reservation is highly encouraged but drop ins are welcome. Just understand it's a small place and a small crew!

We left still hungry even though it was supposedly "all you can eat" and ended up eating Taco Bell afterward. This place used to be one of our favorite sushi spots...sad that we won't be coming back anytime soon.

I have been to kura a couple of times, and I liked their system of discarding the plates and counting as you go, Kaisen kind of just expects you to let your old plates pile up and they count them at the end. The employees were practically useless, you didn't get your water filled up, it had to be ordered on the system for them to acknowledge you. I am fine with modernity, but I feel that this place is picking and choosing very poorly what they "update". Would I come back? Maybe, but not my by own doing.

Came here for the first time the other day for dinner with my boss and coworkers. We were looking for some sushi spots in the area and saw this was a new business and thought "why not, let's try it out". And gotta say it was quite the good choice! We actually ordered a lot more and we were so hungry, that we forgot to take photos of everything. BUT everything we ordered was so good. Although, I cannot remember everything we ordered, glad I took some photos of the orders to share. And everything is fairly reasonably priced that you'll leave with a satisfied stomach! We started off with a salad appetizer to share and honestly that was pretty good start. The sauce had some sort of sweet dressing, def an asian dressing and everything inside was very fresh. If you like asian salads, you'll enjoy this. As for the fish, everything was really fresh tasting. If you like nice and simple sushi eating like me, you'll definitely appreciate the nigiris. Tuna, Salmon, Eel, Shrimp, Yellowtail, and Albacore were all really good in quality! They also throw in some Korean pickled dishes for some orders but definitely ask for that if you get a chance, as it goes quite well with the sushi! Lastly, to wash everything down, we ordered a tempura udon at the end and that was a nice finishing touch to our meal. Recommend if you still got some room for more food haha Overall, my boss and coworkers were all glad I chose this spot to eat. The place is small with not much dining tables as it appears they are more focused on To-Go orders. So if i ever come back, I will most likely call in advance to place an order and just take back the food to eat at home! BUT if you do decide to eat inside, there is available street parking on the side of the restaurant. Be sure to carry some quarters as it's meter parking. Unsure if there are other public parking spots nearby, if there are I probably missed them LOL Regardless, friendly workers and chef, great service, delicious food, and good small spot I found! read more

Koco is right by my school, and I often have to be in the area for long days due to extra classes and rehearsals. Me and my friends come here often for 'linner' on our break between school and extra practices/extracurriculars. The staff is amazing! They are so kind to us students, and all of their 'locals'! When we came back to campus for this recent semester from summer, they hugged us and welcomed us back when they saw us, which I thought was so thoughtful! As for the food, the sushi is amazing! When I'm looking to get something fast an lower-priced, I typically go with the basic rolls & hand rolls, like the California rolls and Philadelphia rolls. However, when I want something else, I like to do the playboy rolls and the Angel rolls. Their chicken is great too! Typically whatever I am feeling that day, they have an option to match! This spot definitely gives off mom-and-pop vibes, but just know there's no sushi bar seating here. The service was solid--quick and efficient, perfect if you're trying to get in and out fast. That said, the ambiance leans more fast-food joint than date night. As for the food, it was mid. The scallops had a bit of a fishy taste (not ideal), but the salmon and yellowtail sushi were decent. The crunchy roll was solid--big and tasty--but the beef teriyaki was a major miss. It tasted like it came straight from a bottle, super processed and lacking flavor. Definitely skip the beef bowl and try something else if you go. Overall, it's just okay. This sushi spot is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The owner is incredibly friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they really care about the food and their customers. The fish quality is excellent, especially for the price. Everything tasted super fresh, they have perfectly seasoned rice, and beautifully presented rolls. The spicy garlic edamame is a must order. Perfectly cooked, tossed in a garlicky, spicy sauce that's totally addictive and the best I've ever had at a sushi spot. Overall, this place has great food, great prices, and great vibes.
