Came across this place this afternoon around 1:30. It was clean and quiet with the most amazing display of sweet pastries I have seen. I don't remember the names of our sweets, but it was an orgasmic experience tasting the quality of the chocolate. The lemon in the 'lemon ball dessert' was perfection and the blueberry tart was creamy and very fresh. The latte, while not presented in a fancy manor was terrific. The wait staff, while not being the most efficient, were sincere, polite, and said they really enjoyed working there. I enjoyed the ambiance, I did feel I could have been in France with a B-Reel of the Paris streets playing quietly on the wall. The stacked wood boxes in the bar area, metal hanging lights, wine ladder, comfortable cushioned bench seats and great outdoor area made for a fun gathering spot. To another reviewer's point, I don't think the layout of this cafe is conducive for an efficient flow for table service. Let's keep this short and simple: L'Experience was bad. The service workers were nice people but the service itself was slow. It took forever for them to buss the tables so we sat at a dirty table for 10 minutes before they came to clean it. They forgot to bring us water and even after cleaning, the seats were oily and dirty (cloth booth seat) and it felt relatively unsanitary. I ordered the Salmon and Avocado Eggs Benedict. It was okay. Not amazing but not bad. The salad on the side though... was terrible. Absolutely revolting. The potatoes were okay but had too strong of a olive oil taste. I also got an iced vanilla latte as a drink. It's not the good coffee everybody. It's that cheap coffee taste with that universal tacky vanilla syrup taste you get in gas station coffee. The total cost of that one Eggs Benedict and cheap tasting coffee was $32! For one person! The one good thing is that the ambiance is nice. A very sleek industrial look. Nice place to have dessert with friends. The staff member helped me to pick the dessert and described each one very well. I ended up having a peach and almond pastry/pie dessert, which was so delicious, the flavors blended really well together - I would be glad to go back and have it again! Unfortunately they did not have many teas available so I ended up having an ice chocolate which was ok but I wish tasted more chocolate and less sugar. I stopped in just after opening on a Wednesday morning. Being my first time in, I knew I had to try a chocolate croissant and an Americano because those items are how I measure the quality of a bakery. I also grabbed a ham and cheese croissant because it looked delectable with the melted cheese on top. I took everything to go, due to COVID-19. All I can say is, WOW. I don't know if everything was especially fresh because I got there so early, but man, it was all sensational. Crispy, flaky, buttery... the chocolate croissant tasted like chocolate was in every bite... not typically the case. And it was really high quality. The ham and cheese was also amazing, particularly how sharp the cheese tasted amidst such a buttery croissant. And there was ham in practically every bite. The Americano was good (I got a 16oz with 3 shots), but nothing extraordinary. Experience-wise, the gal working was SUPER nice. I was the only one there at the time, and she was patient and friendly. I also got lucky and found street parking just outside the door. I believe you can get validation if you have to park in the garage. It is a little bit expensive, compared to similar bakeries in the area, but their quality backs up the price. I can't wait to return! read more

Food was great, service was terrible. I felt absolutely terrible for the new girl who was helping me. She was honest with the fact that she just started, and hey we've all been there before so I was patient and understanding. Every time she would say something, her trainer behind her would loudly comment something for everyone to hear. I asked her questions and the trainer again would talk over her. I asked for my items to go. From the pastry section, I got 2 quiches, a pate sandwich (not warmed up), 2 chocolate croissant, 1 regular croissant, and a banana chocolate croissant. From the dessert case I got the chocolate mouse, passion fruit cheesecake, and Yuzu dessert. As she was boxing everything up, said trainer walked up to her again and loudly says "what are you doing? We don't use boxes, boxes are extra!" I am not new to Washington state laws on takeout boxes and bags, but I was a little surprised that they don't put a chocolate mouse or cheesecake textured dessert in a box... did she expect me to hold them or put them in a bag? They would be smushed. She then proceeded to question if she's asked me if i wanted to pay for them. She looks at me and asks, " do you want to pay for the box, they're 80 cents a piece?" I replied that at this point, the items are in the box, so yeah I guess I will be taking them and I'm fine paying 80 cents for each box. She then proceeds to tell the gal helping me, " oh you put the quiches in the box, great that's what you're supposed to do!" I'm not sure where she expected the quiches to go, seeing as they came with a side salad and dressing? The trainer rang me up because she didn't believe in the competency of the girl helping me it seemed. I was also annoyed that I was charged $2 a box for a total of $4, and not the 80 cents she said. I was very upset for the new girl helping me, and I told the trainer, If in the future you need to correct her, I would suggest you pull her off to the side and not make such condescending comments for everyone to hear. Also, if your staff makes the mistake of using a box before asking me if I'd even like to pay for one, typically the business eats that cost as the customer wasn't given a choice. Overall the food was food, the ambience was nice, but the trainer needs to get off her high horse and do her job of training and not just belittling staff in front of customers. read more

It's not often you walk in somewhere looking for pastry, and leave having found hope for humanity, ha!!! But no joke, that's what happened when I went to buy pastry for a colleague's going away, and ended up connecting both with the Chef de Cuisine and General Manager of L'Experience Paris, Leonard and Dahlia respectively. First of all, Leonard's passion for fresh pastry might be considered fanatical. But when my colleague stopped by my desk TWICE to tell the me croissants (got one plain, one chocolate) were "phenomenal" and "the best croissant they ever had in their life"... it suddenly made being fanatical about fresh pastry seem... reasonable? Seriously, the care and customer service delivered from Leonard, in order to ensure my colleague had *only the best* was unreal, and deeply appreciated. When I went back to express my and my colleague's delight and gratitude, I ended up talking with Dahlia. What I learned about the chef and restaurant was incredibly moving. All I can say is, I'm here for it! The hazelnut croissant was stunning (if you like texture) -- flaky, creamy, and cripsy all at the same time. I do wish with the power of Thor that they'd bring back the cruffin to their menu. Words can't describe how I feel about the caramelized butter with almost the faintest citrus note that permeates layers of pastry, topped with crisp cinnamon sugar. FYI - their almond croissant is not the kind that has [whatever it is that is maybe like] marzipan paste inside (e.g. like the almond croissants at Tartine in San Francisco) -- so if you're looking for that experience specifically, you may want to choose something else. Also, their cheesecake... holy hell. Just... such a great balance of cream to crisp to sweet and salt. [Reverent silence.] Seriously, so much deliciousness! If at all possible, I'd encourage the business owner to put out more street signage re: parking. All this time I had no idea there was parking available until I read other reviews here on Yelp! TOP OF THE LINE!!! This place was absolutely fantastic! I stumbled upon this restaurant on my way to another spot for breakfast and I'm so happy I did! I really loved that the gentleman at the front Aiden who acknowledged me upon arrival even though he was busy with another guest. As Aiden approached me to take my order he smiled and thanked me for waiting, he then went through a description all of the pastries they had and I was extremely grateful since it was my first time in! Aiden is a rockstar and so is everyone who works at this place. I spoke to the Executive Chef Reed Bruinsslot, extensively about his perfectly crafted menu and offerings, his background in the food industry and just our love for high quality foods. Full disclosure this may be a once in a hundred experience, but nonetheless it happened so want everyone to be aware. Went to check out the place because of strong Yelp reviews and photos. Walked in everyone was taking care of customers. No problem. Look at the pastries, the croissants look just as advertised. So start looking in detail which one I want..... then I saw it. A fly. Not a small fruit fly, but a big horsefly gnawing and sitting on top of one of the croissants. Disgusted, just turned around and left. If you going to have food out in the open without fully covering it, you probably want to have very tight pest control in place. Not only is it gross but you potentially could get people sick. I hope the business reads this and take the feedback to heart and address it. Based on a couple of interactions I see from folks rating them low ratings on Yelp, I doubt it. Was here last Sunday with a friend. We decided to have lunch therefore we went in to order Togo! Ordered 2 capuchino and 7 pastries togo. Got treated like crap, and our coffee took forever! I decided to come to the counter and ask for our coffee, turned out the barista had made it for here. She then took it to the sink and started pouring it back and forth between the 2 capuchino in the sink! I'm really disgusted and disappointed by this action . I literally saw one of their co workers even looking at her and said " what are you doing" and then she handed our capuchino. I kid you not, our coffee tasted like Luke warm milk no taste of coffee! What do I look for when dining out? There are a few things that affect my dining experience and ratings. Obviously, the first is the quality and quantity of the food (are hot foods hot, cold foods cold, taste, preparation, wait time, etc.). Next in line is the quality of the serving staff including personal interactions. Another factor is the ambience of the facility including décor, comfort and sound levels. One more factor is the parking (free lot, street, paid parking lot, etc.). For Father's Day 2024 June 16), I looked for a new place to celebrate with my family (8 adults all over age 50). I do not remember where I got the name of L'Experience Paris but it probably came from a newspaper review or comment. It sounded wonderful since all of us had been to Paris and loved the food there. We checked the online menu and it was perfect. I called them in Bellevue WA to make a reservation for 8 people at Noon. We all arrived from different locations at the same time, on time. Some found parking on the street (free) and my wife and I parked in the building garage. The parking garage had a machine near the elevator to pay for parking. It rejected all of my credit cards and my $5 bill. I left my car in the garage without paying and went up to the restaurant. I do not know if parking in the garage was free on Sundays or not, but it was for me. Issue number one. It was a chilly day but one side (of the two outside walls) of the restaurant was wide open to their outside patio so it was a bit cool inside where we sat. One side of the table was a long bench-like seat with cushions to sit on and for your back. It was not ideal. However, it was ready for us. Our server, Alexandra was friendly and attentive. She answered several questions about the food and her home in France. Good start. We ordered our food with big smiles on our faces. Then it went really bad. A couple of us were looking forward to their Croque Madams/Monsieurs. NOT AVAILABLE! A couple ordered quiches. NOT AVAILABLE! A couple ordered Eggs Benedict. TOOK 45 MINUTES TO DELIVER! This was long after everybody else had been served and finished dining! I ordered the jambon/fromage (ham/cheese) omelet. It was one large or two very small eggs, not the three or four I am used to. It was delicious but not very filling. I tried the potato balls that came with another diner's meal. It was awful. Universally panned by all who tried them. Some meals were served on the cool side even though they were supposed to be hot. Thanks to Alexandra, a couple of meals were taken off the bill as compensation. Overall, I would rate our "experience" about 2.5 stars out five. I do not remember if I ever gave a score that low. Server was five stars, out of five stars. Ambience, open wall with outside temperature around 60 degrees (F) and seating comfort, about 1 star. Some of the food was five stars, most about 3 stars; zero stars for the missing meals! This place serves incredible croissants (buttery flaky and crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside), delightful cruffins (hint of cinnamon and savory butter), fantastic sourdough (exterior wasn't cut-the-top-of-your-mouth hard and the interior was a balanced sour), and a heavenly Sunday bread (milky and sweet and like something out of a Japanese or Taiwanese bakery). Ate the entire Sunday loaf without adding anything to it, it was THAT good. The food itself is worth the 5 star rating, but the service is what pushed me to rate this restaurant. I ordered two loaves of sourdough, but when they brought my package to the curb, they only brought one. I didn't notice until I got to the grocery store, so I went back to pick up the second one and when I did, they threw in that Sunday bread to apologize! We ordered two herbal teas and two desserts (chocolate and lemon). If you've ever been to Europe and do like European desserts (has less sugar and just better), you will like the desserts here otherwise you won't like them bc it has normal sugar content. You don't feel like you'll go blind if you eat this much sugar, which is how I feel whenever I eat any American dessert. I have been looking for a French Bakery for a while. This didn't disappoint. Not so much a Paris experience. First we were greeted by a rude hostess. The food did not match up to the price. We ordered the salmon avocado eggs Benedict. As you can see in my picture attached, the "poached egg" was so over cooked you can barely see any egg whites, what was left was just a small shrunken hard egg yolk. The English muffin was rock hard (we had a hard time cutting bites with the knife) and the avocado was not ripe. You also get one sashimi sized smoke salmon. The side salad was not crisp/fresh, it was soggy. Potatoes were alright. If you want ketchup or hot sauce with it MAKE SURE YOU BRING YOUR OWN! This restaurant apparently doesn't have any ketchup or hot sauce. The only decent items were the mimosas (I would rather pay a bit more somewhere else for bottomless mimosas), coffee, and pastries. read more

I was really looking forward to this place. - We got there at 10am and said they were too busy for brunch (understaffed, had plenty of tables available) - Were told we could get pastries heated to go, but not quiches. - There were no prices and it is super expensive - We were able to sit outside and got water, which was great - The savory and sweet croissants were amazing - Others were being seated for brunch service and others got quiches to go. I don't know what the rules are here! - The raspberry cheesecake I took home for later was so bad, we couldn't finish it, and we usually love cheesecake. It was like half cheesecake half jello and the crust was rock hard. It was also tiny and over $12 I think (again, no prices listed!) I felt super ripped off. If you want real authentic French baked goods and coffee, this is the only place I've ever found in the state. The location is gorgeous, the variety of desserts of unreal, and all their food is drool worthy. Service for me has been hit and miss with friendliness, but doesn't keep me from continuing to go back. Super convenient and cute cafe/brunch spot in the Bellevue area! It's right under Soma towers and has Cepae wine as well. We got the duck Benedict and the croque monsieur, and would definitely recommend coming back again to try their other dishes and desserts.
