Only great things to say about Leo's! Their staff is amazing and the food is always delicious. Recently they accommodated a very large order of tortas for us and everything was fabulous. Leo's never disappoints. The ladies at the counter are always friendly and the food is amazing. Their daily specials provide great value but even the regular prices are well worth what you get. I'm a big fan of the crispy tacos and carne asada fries but the carnitas plate is the best! So darn good. Great salsa bar too. The menu says guacamole comes with the California burrito, it wasn't in my burrito. Sucks, because I walked back to work, sat down and took a bite and there was no GUACAMOLE! They were so quick to charge me .95 cents to add pico but can't even remember to put my guacamole in my California burrito...I wouln't have wrote this review if the customer serivce was better but the girl at the cashier was not welcoming. I watched her stand there and just stare at a confused customer. He wasn't sure how the ordering process worked, she just looked at him and waited for him to say something. OK, I had to really search my heart here... I mean it's not often, or rather actually I should say, I have never been treated so badly by someone I was giving my money to. LOL - Honestly, the level of negative energy that girl behind the counter omits is overwhelming. When we walked into the place to get out of the heat, we really should have turned right around. The air inside was that similar to a hot mouth that may have just gargled warm water to "cool itself down"... The girl was talking with a customer who was sitting at the bar and apparently the conversation was just too engaging to pull away from, so we patiently watched them engage for about 6 minutes until she (waitress, order taker, barmaid) acknowledged us. Then when I asked about the "Camaron Planchada" she was very visually irritated that I wasn't fully versed in Mexican cuisine and she looked over to a man (which happened to be the cook) sitting at a table eating and yelled out in Spanish how he thinks she should explain to me... Lol (I'm fluent in Spanish) Anyhow, once we got passed the ordering tyranny we patiently sat down and waited 25 minutes for our food, that was to go, all the while 3 sets of different patrons came in to order and dine in, ALL were served BEFORE we received our food. :-/ This has to be the first time I can honestly say I think I was being mistreated. Every other customer who went up to order was treated with respect. So all in all, TBH, the food was just fine, nothing to rave about, but decent and cooked. So I would give them 2.5 stars for the food and ZERO stars for the customer service. Unfortunately the long list of negative reviews regarding this specific negative human being have forced my hand to round down... Leo's has a devoted following and it's easy to see why. Very simple set up where you order at the bar/counter, take your seat, and wait for your grub. (24 oz. pitchers of beer for $5.50) $.50 refills on sofa which sucks but then again, some people take advantage of unlimited refills. (Myself included) The place is clean and there are many seating options. The salsa bar is stocked with quality sauces of varying degrees of spiciness. The pickled carrots with jalapeños are the best I've had next to my own dad's version. The grilled shrimp salad and garlic smothered shrimp smell so darn good and the taste is spot on. The refried beans need salt however. The two piece combo I tried was average at best. The chicken enchilada was bland instead of savory or spicy. The Chile Relleno made up for it. The melty cheese was yummy and not a bad deal for like $8. I must return for Taco Tuesday. read more

Their breakfast burritos are pretty good ($3.99). I tried the Chorizo and the Machaca Beef. The Chorizo one was better. It was flavorful and had a lil kick to it. At first glance the burritos look tiny but don't let that fool you. You will be full after one because they really pack the burritos with a lot of meat. One thing that I would add is slightly just a little bit more cheddar cheese and also throw in a few chips in the bag to pick up any extra egg and potato that fell out of the burrito. Their food is kind of... dry. I've come here and had the fish tacos and if you put a lot of salsa on them they can taste pretty decent. I've also tried the carne aside fries here and didn't enjoy them which says something because I may have been tipsy when I ate them, and usually everything tastes better when you're tipsy! My friends and I frequent Leo's on Taco Tuesdays for $1.50 tacos and beer - PBR or Tecate. They come in flimsy plastic cups, but obviously if you're drinking that brand you're not going for bougee. Service is fast and the food is good, but I don't think I'd come here outside of Taco Tuesday. The restaurant is small, around 30ish seats maybe. It's always busy on TT, so you might have to wait for a table, but not likely for very long. The restaurant seems clean, but there are tables around the 1 person bathroom where patrons are standing around in line and going in and out of the bathroom pretty consistently. So if you're sitting near that area you'll get blasted with bathroom air a lot. That aspect is nauseating to me, but otherwise I have no complaints. TL;DR: Great deals for Taco Tuesday on delicious tacos and cheap beer, if you're into that. read more

I've been going to Leo's for over a year and the quality of their food has drastically gone down. I'm writing this review as a public service announcement. The other day I ordered a shrimp and a grilled fish burrito. Each burrito came out to around $13 each just for adding rice and beans to it. The shrimp burrito was decent, unfortunately, the fish burrito was awful. The fish smelled like it had been sitting out for 3 days without being refrigerated and then cooked. The whole burrito had to be thrown in the garbage. As a business you should make sure you're serving quality food and stop trying to cut cost by serving spoiled fish to your customers. Needless to say, this restaurant isn't one of them. There was no one at the register when we came in. After a few minutes a small lady comes in and didn't say a word. Lol, not even a "Hi!" Today my boyfriend and I walked from 11th street to broadway on empty stomachs looking for something to eat. Today he finally agree to share Carne Asada Fries with me so I took him to Leo's, a place i enjoy with my best friend. We enter into the restaurant around 4:30pm and was greeted by cashier who is literally always in a sour mood every time I come. We order the CAF and A small drink, grab our toppings from the sauce area they have, and had a seat. I've never been a big fan of their service, but I absolutely love the food so I deal with it. When our order arrived to the table we as added our topping and began to eat but afterr about 2 bites my boyfriend noticed a small ROACH in our food he grabbed it before even showing me and gave it back to the line cook. He asked the cashier for a refund and she paid us back for the fries and not the drink (I just thought that was very petty). We had to go eat nasty food (that was more expensive) somewhere else and the worst part was that the food tasted AMAZING. Even the chips and salsa was fire.
