Taco Tuesday
Nancy D.

I love the taco Tuesday's $1.75 tacos. They have a salsa bar. They serve alcohol. parking available on street. The food is excellent. The waitresses and staff are always friendly. The place is busy . I recommend going and trying it out.

Shredded beef Crispy Taco

Went for their $1.75 taco Friday special, I didn't get any pics but next time I'll make sure to do so, they're definitely about to be seeing me every Friday and Tuesday since the special is on both days. They have a variety of tacos to choose from for the special, I got to the Mexican style Carne Asada tacos and a beef crispy taco and that crispy taco is probably one of the best ones I have ever had. That shell is amazing and sooo crunchy!! Marisol (I hope I spelled that right) had such a beautiful smile that lit up the restaurant when she greeted us & took our orders, smiling all the way to the goodbyes. Small little establishment with a great family oriented vibe, I can't wait to come back! Updated a picture since I went back!! I can't wait to go back Friday

I heard about Leo's from numerous people and was delighted at the service and food. A great menu and inviting place. Super casual but excellent friendly service. I can see why it's a local favorite. I had the taco salad and my friend ordered a birreria taco, carne asada fries AND a burrito. My salad was great. Fresh fresh fresh! The birreria meat was fantastic. Took a few fries and was delighted! I'll be back!

Tuesday and Friday deals as of 8.16.24

My coworkers and I come here a lot and love their Tuesday and Friday deals! I stick to soft and crispy style tacos with potato, carnitas, or carne asada -- you can never go wrong! For my fellow picky eaters, some meats do have some other food items mixed in, so you should definitely inquire. They had a decent beer selection too, maybe next time I can grab a photo... Every time I come here, the restaurant is fairly busy, but they move quickly. I typically get my tacos within 10 minutes! Summary: great prices for filling tacos! Great beer prices and quick service!

Carne Asada nachos
Rick H.

If I'm eating Mexican fare, I want it authentic, not some Americanized chain. So when I saw local workers lining up in Leo's, I knew I had to try it. The restaurant is clean and pleasantly dated, with a heavy wood counter, wood chairs and tables. The service is immediate and friendly. I was craving nachos, so I got an order with Carne asada. I've never had nachos this good. The chips and guacamole are made in house, and they're amazing. My dish had beans, peppers, onion, sour cream and plenty of tender Carne asada. The portion was huge! There is also a nice salsa bar with fresh, house-made salsas, onion, carrot, jalapeño, cilantro and limes. Everything you need to make awesome nachos out of this world! If you want authentic Mexican food, you absolutely must try Leo's!

California Burrito
Lindsey L.

After craving a California burrito for sooo long with no places near me to satisfy this craving, I thought I had luck finding this place! We went to the aquarium and needed to refuel before heading home. The service was great, the girl at the counter was extremely friendly and fun to talk to. The burrito on the other hand just did not hit the way I wanted it to :( it was soooo bland and dry. Even after adding their salsa, lime, and onion it was still so bland ! The salsa didn't have any spice either :/. Also, the burrito was made with guac on one side and sour cream on the other which was interesting cus you just kinda have a single bite with either and then the rest of the burrito has none.

No.

Gluten free options? I'm sensitive

corn tortillas are gluten free. gluten is not added to meat, so I think it's safe to say that you can eat anywhere that offers tacos. I know you're sensitive - I hope this answer finds you well and didn't hurt your feelings.

Spectacular Mexican food! I'm so glad TikTok recommended this place because I may have never…read morestumbled upon it otherwise! I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and waited about 20 minutes for a table. The wait was well worth it because each dish offered an explosion of flavors. My favorite dish was the birria, with the salmon ceviche as a close second. The mole was great too, but I'd say the other two dishes were more memorable and something I'd return for. I can't recommend the birria enough, as the flavors were reminiscent of what I've had in Mexico, very authentic. The space is small and can feel a bit tight, but sometimes the best food comes from these types of "hole in the wall" places. Ultimately, I'd say give Lola's a try! You can't go wrong with Mexican food!

Not impressed by anything we ordered, given the competition locally…read more I will drive to Acton, CA (124 miles round trip) for their chicken tortilla soup ... bringing back 3 quarts of it after our meal is done. The soup here lacks the tastebud awakening zip that Don Chato's has. The ono fish taco experience was my fault... I hate fried fish taco, so I had lofty expectations, but due to the fact that I do not prefer corn tortillas, guacamole or raw onions, led to much disappointment since It has all three. Totally my fault. The butternut enchilada was lacking in the expected savoriness... this is being polite. The potato taquito was okay... but I am not a taquito person, so if you are I would seriously encourage you to try it. The star of the table was the Mexican corn. It may not compete with Cornman in Lincoln Heights, but it was decent. I scraped off the onions and toppings on the ono tacos, put the fish on the flour tortillas that another person didn't want, and topped the fish with refried beans, street corn and a but if the chicken tortilla soup broth to make due. When you are driving more than 30 minutes for this experience, I think you would agree that it was less that a proper way to celebrate a birthday. Oh and if there isn't any street parking. It'll cost you about 9 bucks in the lot. I didn't use the restroom, so I cant review its cleanliness. Our waitress was flawless taking orders and delivering food The restaurant itself has a great layout and an outdoor courtyard complete with propane heaters and umbrellas - I loved that... but my favorite part was out front, no not the seating area in the former parking spaces, nope... it was the collapsed woman on the sidewalk, walking her dog with snot running out of her nose because she was huffing some aerosol can of whatever. This truly set the mood upon arrival. Two stars for being close to a lot of other food choices to visit afterward.

If you want big portions, legit authentic food, and prices that won't personally offend you--this is your spot. The pork shank? Fall-off-the-bone, no-effort-required kind of delicious. The tacos are (I do wish they had à la carte instead of plates, but honestly their rice and refried beans slap so I'll allow it). The ceviche is basically an entrée disguised as an appetizer, and the chicken arroz soup hits every time. They bring out chips and salsa immediately (as they should), service is quick, and there's plenty of parking--which already puts them ahead of half the restaurants in SoCal.

I opted for the carne asada plate - simple and not spicy. Hubby ordered the Carne en su Jugo- very spicy with tomatillo broth and serranos, cilantro, bacon and onions. Both of our entrees came with bean soup and tortillas. The chips/ salsa starter was addictive. Huge basket of fresh warm chips, and a salsa like no other! Chunks of veggies and just the right spice. It was hard to get those chunks on the chips but it was delicious. My carne asada was tasty, a large portion with grilled scallion and rice. I wish some of the "bean soup" had been pureed to be a bit thicker but the broth was good, with a variety of beans. Hubby's dish had an interesting flavor, very spicy. He wished the broth had some rice, though, to accompany it. We could come back weekly to try many more entrees. Their salads sound tasty, too. Service was great.

It was open seating when we arrived which majority of the tables was taken where all the television were. The main dining area had a television set up but main bar area was where the action was taking place. We got lucky as there was a table available along the wall with perfect view of the game. Of course it was rain delayed so more time to enjoy food and drinks. Also it was happy hour and taco Tuesday all at the same time. As the game was happening, one of the tequila sponsors was there offering deals. Shot and a jersey. Tony took care of us that night and he was amazing. Made sure that we got everything we needed. Very sweet as well. Happy hour menu offered a good amount of items for a great deal. As well as draft beer and cocktails. Regular menu is great as well which we've had before. Food, an order of the tostada both with shrimp and aguachili. Served with two small tostada and handful of crevice on top. Both were quite tasty and very well flavored in the juice. Also two of the street tacos with birria. They were quite small but did have a major punch of flavor to it. And well priced at 2.50 a piece. Of course the crinkle cut loaded fries with added carne asada. Seemed like it was a popular item as every table had it. It was good but a little skimpy with the topping. Lastly the chicken wings, lemon pepper flavor. Six piece tossed in the sauce. It was good but way too salty for my liking. We still enjoyed everything we had. As we got the shot with the jersey earlier, the person who was affiliated with the sponsor brand was walking around with more shot. I must say, it does hit the spot big time...lol... The crowd was lively with everyone all there for the same reason. The game and good company. First time for happy hour and it was nice. We had a great time and everyone working was the sweetest. And Tony was amazing. Took very good care of us.

Palapa next door offers the same food menu but has more drink options. Many opted for outdoor seating on the terrace due to the gorgeous views, but not wanting to wait we agreed to indoor seating. The interior of the restaurant is also very beautiful. The bathrooms were too dark for my tastes though. Our waitress was absolutely phenomenal, super friendly and anticipating all of our needs (water refills, leftover containers, etc.). Service overall by all staff was friendly. We were actually presently surprised with the taste of the food, thinking it might be more Americanized but they actually had very authentic and tasty totopos (tortilla chips). The tomato salsa that came with the chips was also very refreshing. We asked for hot sauce too and the house habanero salsa really packed a punch! We ordered carne asada nachos, pork belly chilaquiles (from the brunch menu), a breakfast burrito, poke, and steamed clams. The steamed clams came in a rich tomato broth and the breakfast burrito was massive. The poke was just okay and the chilaquiles a bit too soggy for me, and the carne asada nachos a bit dry. Nonetheless, presentation and portion sizes were respectable. The last comment is that food here is quite pricey but that reflects the likely high rent of a restaurant in 2nd and PCH. Ola still exceeded expectations and provided a more than pleasant meal.
