Hangover Ramen and Korean Fried Chicken Bun.
    Awk S.

Quick little stop for lunch. We made reservations but it wasn't very busy for a Saturday around lunch time. The rooftop wasn't open when we arrived, but got a table by the window. We ordered the Korean chicken buns and hangover ramen. The elderflower spritz was also a refreshing cocktail. We will have to come back and explore the menu, cocktails and rooftop!

We came to Denver for a show at Red Rocks and one of the artists posted about this place. It did not disappoint! First, our waiter Zander was amazing! Great service, great repertoire, and had the best recommendations. We ordered espresso martinis, Bloody Marys, and Micheladas. Food, we ordered the short rib Benedict, Birria tamales, and the Denver Sammy. NONE of the food disappointed. We also ordered the donut holes and the bao buns. Seriously... none of the food disappointed and it was probably the best brunch place we ever ate at. The restaurant is a rooftop restaurant so you can look out making the ambiance impeccable. We are for sure coming back any time when we come back to Denver.

Tried Linger for the first time during Denver Restaurant Week and had a good overall experience. The special was $45 per person for a three-course meal, plus an amuse and specials on different alcoholic drinks. I went with one other person, which worked out well because we were able to try a lot of different dishes. For starters we chose the Mongolian BBQ Duck Bao Buns and the Crispy Togarashi Brussel Sprouts with pickled mushroom, hot honey, and yuzu kosho aioli. The bao had good flavor but could have used more fresh textural elements. That being said the brussel sprouts were delicious! They were crispy with a really nice balance of sweet, savory, and a little heat. For mains we ordered the Crispy Trout and the Hanger Steak. The trout was the standout of the night it was super flavorful with punchy spices and just the right level of heat in the sauce. The different textural elements in the dish with the fresh notes and crunchy notes kept the dish so interesting. The hanger steak was a bit disappointing in comparison. The beans on the plate were slightly tough and overall the flavors didn't quite come together the way we hoped. For dessert we had the Italian Coffee and Donuts and the Maduros and Crema. The donuts paired with the chocolate ganache were fantastic. The maduros dish was really creative and interesting conceptually, though for my personal taste it leaned a bit too sweet. For drinks, I tried the Resting Place cocktail (lavender vodka, raspberry, lemon, and tonic), which was very refreshing and well balanced. Service throughout the meal was incredible and the dishes came out perfectly paced, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. The only downside is that parking in the area can be tough, so plan ahead. Overall, a a fun Restaurant Week meal with great service and I will definitely be coming back to try their regular menu!

Delicious as usual. Such a cool vibe and location with unique story behind the building. The staff is incredibly helpful with helping you choose what you want and not order too much food. I love the order as you go environment. This is a must stop by restaurant for me when I'm in Denver.

Linger's food definitely surprised me, but in a good way! You have the option of sitting in the restaurant or going up to their rooftop, however, their rooftop has less food options than the actual restaurant, so beware. Me and my friend ended up on the rooftop, since we wanted to be seated more quickly. We decided to split the smash burger and the ramen. The smash burger was perfectly seasoned! The hot honey sweet potato fries were unique and very tasty. The ramen was also a surprise! It was also very cold that day in Denver, so it was the perfect entree to split. The broth was pretty flavorful for being a fusion restaurant. I would definitely be curious to eat from their full menu in the future to try other food options, but I would say Linger is a great spot that would satisfy many different tastebuds!

$34 Pad Thai (that was not worth it). The atmosphere and overall layout of this place is a vibe. It's fun to sit at the upstairs bar that mimics the nostalgic "Lite Bright" game I had as a kid. But unfortunately I've had multiple poor experiences with the service here and the food is just OK.

Great joint in the center of Lower Highlands. Try to sit upstairs if at all possible. All dishes we had were amazing

We have always had dinners at linger and never had the chance to try their brunch - I must say, I like the brunch here too! Got a half order of the pandan waffle and regretted my decision on not getting the whole order!! This waffle is just too good to miss out on especially if you like pandan. I also saw another item with Ube Pandan - I'm sure that must be really good too. I got the breakfast dosa and my husband got the birria tamale - both really good. I did wish if my dosa was a tad bit hot! It was crispy and I loved the addition of apricots in my dosa. The tamale was birria heavy which my husband loved. Service is always good out here. I'm glad we stopped by to try their brunch menu and I probably will be back in a couple years again. This is a Denver favorite for sure!

There's hype for a reason and it's well deserved. Food was impeccable - particular dark horse were the Brussels and the wagyu sliders with hot honey fries are every bit as delicious as you expect. I'd get the chicken over the duck for bao buns if we went again and would also get pork belly. The margarita was a STANDOUT (I think she said the seasonal flavor was cranberry mandarin?). Service was great and really timely, she did great helping guide our choices. Ambiance is always fun, eclectic, a little on the noisy side. Had such a great experience here my first time I'm always worried the follow up visit won't match my expectations but it totally did!

An awesome Denver find! Fantastic atmosphere and delicious food! The bao buns are AMAZING! Tons of vegan options as well. A definite need to go to when in downtown Denver.

This is without a doubt, one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. You cannot go wrong. 1. They always have yummy options for a mocktail. As someone who no longer drinks alcohol, I want a fun drink when I'm out and Linger always has at least 2! 2. ALLL of the food is good!! Everything we've ordered! 3. The service is top notch. Our server tonight kept non-rushedly checking in with us as we caught up on life before choosing drinks and food and kept refilling our waters for us. She was so lovely. One thing to keep in mind- it's a BIG restaurant, which is great! But it's also SUPERRR loud. Acoustics are abysmal, so just know you might be shouting across the table. Also, parking in this area is a sport. They do have valet for $15 I saw. I got lucky tonight with a spot outside, but just give yourself some extra parking time. Will be back again and again!

Came back after the initial visit and I have to say, I'm still very impressed! We had 2 rounds of drinks, all which were stellar! We tried the vegan queso with chips. So good!! Trust me, vegan to me always makes me feel like it's gonna be grainy or lacking but they did such a great job! The burger was so good! Simple ingredients but really packed in the flavor. The honey waffle sweet potato fries were just as amazing as the first time. The chicken and waffles were delicious! The chicken breading was so good and really stood out to me. I didn't try the chilaquiles but they did look incredible. Presentation is 10/10. Brunch definitely seemed less lively than dinner, but that's okay. I like to be out of the house early, and enjoyed a quieter atmosphere than dinner. Service was pretty good! The food took a little to come out but it wasn't anything significant. Definitely plan to return again and try other items/drinks!

Dare I say, this is the best restaurant in Denver! I'm from out of town and decided to stop by for dinner. It's an Asian fusion restaurant and every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious. I don't even have a clear favorite, but if I had to choose, I'd go with the Pad Thai. The bao buns were so unique; crispy yet soft. The burger was perfectly juicy as well! On top of that, the service provided by Carolyn was amazing. She was so sweet and helped us decide what to order. The view by the open window added such a great vibe to the whole experience. Overall, I would highly recommend this spot as a must-try when in Denver!

How limited is parking? I see they have valet and street parking. I'm trying to decide whether or not to take the light rail. If parking if difficult to grab, I might just take the train. Suggestions, anyone?

There's a public parking lot across the street we didn't have any issue parking on a weekend evening there. There's also street parking all around the neighborhood.… Read more

Is the rooftop with food truck as first available or reservation?

I have been able to get it as a walk-in, but I'm sure your mileage may vary...

Does Linger have TVs? Would they be playing the college National championship?

No tv's! Great spot for good food, drinks and discussion!

Are dogs allowed on the patio?

Doubt it since the patio is the rooftop.

What meal or dish would you recommend?

We had the Bao bun trio and the devils on horseback, both were delicious

Are they doing anything for mew years like a roof top party?

We typically offer a pre-fixed dinner. As long as the weather is great we will have the rooftop open!

Is brunch everyday, or only on the weekends?

Brunch is Served Friday- Sunday, from 10:00 am - 2:00 PM. Check out the Bottomless Mimosas!

Do you have to make reservations for dinner?

No they are not necessary. However, Reservations are highly recommended.

Are they still having their regular happy hour 4-5?

Happy Hour is currently available 4:00- 5:00 pm Monday - Thursday

Do they have any gluten free options?

Yes! Their gluten free options are clearly marked on the menu (try the bacon wrapped dates and waffle fries!), just make sure you specify you want the items gluten free.

Do they allow you to bring your own wine and pay corkage?

I don't think they are BYOB. Not from what I seen during my visit

Do they have late night happy hour?

    Yes! :).. Enjoy the view.

What time are kids allowed until?

Kids are definitely welcomed there. They have an awesome kids meal that they serve in a bento-box style plate, and they have high chairs.

Is the patio heated during the winter?

A part of it, it is. I don't think they are on on really cold days.

    How kid friendly is Linger?

Not very at all at the bar but maybe downstairs with reservations... but the bar is a bar scene

Lately it feels like a lot of restaurants are charging more while giving less, and it's getting harder to find places that actually care about the customer experience. Unfortunately, this was another one of those experiences. We ordered three side dishes and three drinks, and the bill came out to around $100. Two of the three sides were served cold, the dumplings at least came out hot, but they were pretty mediocre and nothing I'd order again and drinks were extremely over priced. The waitress was fine, no real issues there, but it did feel like the food may have been sitting in the kitchen too long before it hit the table even though the place was empty. At the end of the day, it's hard to justify paying that kind of money for cold, underwhelming food, then feeling awkward about the tip because the experience just wasn't good. I won't be back. If I had known this is what the experience was I would have definitely gone somewhere else. As an added bonus I felt like crap afterwords, I think it was because of poor quality ingredients. My aim in writing these reviews is to highlight the restaurants and businesses that truly take care of their customers, to give people a heads up about the ones that clearly do not prioritize quality or the customer experience, and to express myself in a world where it often feels like there is very little room to speak honestly about paying top dollar for mediocre experiences. Very disappointing.

Uncle makes me want to move to Denver! To start the ambiance is really chill and inviting with warm lighting and offers countertop as well as table seating. Our server was amazing and explained the menu well and made some recommendations that did not disappoint. We ordered way to much food but I do not regret that because I got to try so many amazing dishes. Despite ordering so many options they even brought us a chilled tofu dish complimentary (no clue why but not complaining) and it was lovely! We shared the uncle salad (amazing!), thai shrimp, eggplant buns, several different nigiri/aburi nigiri and sashimi and the toro toro and spicy tuna roll. All of the sushi was fresh and had excellent pairing of accompaniments. The only dish that I remember being a miss was the soft shell crab buns. The proportion of bun to interior was off and there was way too much mayo. Everyone got their own ramen which they seemed to love. I ordered the Veggie Khao Soi per our servers recommendation and I am still thinking about it weeks later. It was a curry/ramen mix and had big chunks of trumpet mushrooms in it and the perfect amount of spice that I love. Denverites I am jealous you have Uncle and anyone visiting make sure to add it to your list!

Had one cocktail that was very good. Reminded me of a cherry cola. Service was excellent, people were always at our table, picking up dishes, asking if we needed anything further. Would definitely go back again. We want to try some of the other flavors of Ramen.

The vibe here is of a japanese izakaya, though not a super traditional one, with sake bombs and everything. That said, the food is definitely on the pricier side, though extremely delicious. My typical go to is on of the salad. Now salads typically are not standout at most restaurants, but the ones at Kawa Ni just hits different. Both the red cabbage and pear salad and the brocolli salad are delicious and the portion is massive, easily enough for a table of 4 to share. For apps and shareable entrees, you can't go wrong here. The build your own tuna temaki hand rolls can easily be shared and the tuna is so fresh and well seasoned. The szechuan dumplings are delicious, as is the curry onigiri and the bao bun. The Dan Dan noodle, kimchi Carbonara, and their tonkotsu ramen are also amazing, and, with the exception of the tonkotsu ramen, can easily be shared. I would highly recommend other seasonal dishes as well, such as the coconut swordfish or chicken katsu parm. However, one of my absolute favorite dish here is the ochazuke. It's basically grilled fish over rice in a warm green tea dashi. It's so comforting, especially on a cold night, and a dish that I return to time and time again. Overall, Kawa Ni is an amazing japanese restaurant. Come for the food and just make sure you get a sake bomb and ask for the gong when you do.

Had to order the broccoli again, but the red cabbage and pear salad is even better. Loved the red curry coconut onigiri, miso salmon over rice, and cold sesame noodles. Every dish is a winner.
