A typical Korean-owned Chinese restaurant. I used to go to one in Koreatown with red doors (don't recall the name) when I was growing up. My boyfriend took me to this location. Honestly, I cant hate on the food. It's tasty and the portions are sufficient. We always split the jja jjang myung (black bean noodles) and tang soo yook (sweet pork with pineapples) and always go home with half the tang soo yook uneaten. The reason why I deduct two stars is for their service, or lack thereof. The waiters all look miserable and annoyed when you ask for ice water instead of the jet-fuel black tea they nornally service. Beware! If you are sensitive to caffeine, stay away from the tea. I know it's suppose to help slosh down the oily-ness of the food, but I was up all night. There isn't a lack in portion size here. You can get a split bowl of jja jang myun and it comes out like 2 regular portions. The lunch specials are more like family sized plates. They give you an egg roll, egg drop soup, and fried rice with the lunch special. The jja jang myun and jjam pong is decent but not my first choice. The sweet & sour pork is more sweet and oddly has pickled cucumbers. The kung pao dishes have a ton of cubed bamboo, which I actually enjoy. The fried shrimp with garlic sauce is probably my favorite. They also have the lu sam sa dish and part of the lunch special but the sea cucumber slivers are super thin. Ever since Little Dragon in Gardena closed down many years ago, it's been impossible to find the perfect Korean-Chinese restaurant in the South Bay, but this place will do for now. Their jjajangmyun is not bland, which I find with many other places around here. The sweet and sour pork was not crispy, but maybe that was because we got it to go... the pan fried dumplings didn't look appetizing but still tasted good. Surprisingly even with the noodles, they made for good left overs the next day. I can see what people mean by the curt or even kind of rude customer service, but because I just ordered over the phone and picked it up, there wasn't extensive interaction, so I was fine with it. If you want Chinese food that is plenty and cheap, this is the place. The waiters are varsity season workers and get you your order fast and on the spot. The food is average to mediocre at best but what do you expect for Cheap and a lot! Inside looks old and dingy and they know how to cram people in! I think they should call Guinness work of records...but the workers know how to hustle you in and out. The parking is very limited and people park tight. Always searching for a good Chinese restaurant in Gardena. We loved Ting Sing, but they closed years ago which bummed us out. We were driving home from Mexico and we're tired, but hungry. Everything tasted fresh and was brought to our table quickly and very hot. We ordered Mongolian beef, chicken chowmein, almond chicken and steamed rice. We loved it and will return to try some if the other dishes. We ate heartily but still ended up taking half of the food home for tomorrow. Went to lunch with my parents and the BF for the black bean noodles (jja jjang myun). Curiously, my parents ordered the black bean noodles and Kung pao chicken/shrimp, but they received the jjang ppong (or is it jjam ppong?) instead, for whatever reason. Thankfully, it was a welcomed mistake and added variety to our small array of entrees. My boyfriend and I ordered the jja jjang myun and the sweet and sour fried pork. Quantity of meat was a bit lacking in the black bean noodles and the portion for the sweet and sour pork was on the smaller side, but flavor was decent. Customer service is always solid here. They're a Chinese restaurant, but they're solid in Korean and English and so my parents come here ALL THE TIME. So I'll be back with my padres in 2018! read more

Came here with my family the other day for New Year's. This place is a inside a small plaza parking lot. It's a little run down but I do like how they have alot of to offer on the menu. Every chinese/korean restaurant we go to we order the black bean noodles, three hot spicy noodles, fried pork with sweet and sour sauce, fried chicken with hot garlic sauce, rice, and fried dumplings. The black bean noodles were okay, the sauce tasted a little bland. The dumplings were pretty good and crispy, and they really big sizes so they can make you pretty full before you get your main entrees. The spicy pork and the sweet and sour sauces were good, tasted very sweet and the pork was fried well and crispy. Same with the chicken and hot garlic sauce. I would recommend you order the spicy pork over the chicken because they both kind of have the same taste, and it's not worth ordering both at once. Overrall the place was okay. It was a little rundown and I was a little unsure about the cleanliness of the place. My chair's cushion was ripped open and it didn't seem like the cleanest place. However it has that family restaurant vibe and the service was pretty fast, so I wouldn't mind coming back. Also the prices for the food are really cheap and they give a huge amount of food to feed a family. Our bill for all this food was about $70. So that's a plus! read more

It's a large portion so you can definitely share it family style. Their black bean noodle is also very good and it's super tasty when it comes out nice and hot. The service is not good and don't expect cleanliness from this restaurant. However, if you are craving Korean Chinese food, aka jja jjang myun, this place is the place to go in the South Bay. My boyfriend and I split one jja jjang myun (if you split one plate into two bowls, they charge $.50) and one lunch portion of tang soo yook. For those that don't know- tang soo yook is either pork or beef in sweet and sour sauce, a common Korean Chinese dish. The portions were enough to get us both very, very full. I've been to Korean Chinese restaurants where the jja jjang myun is plain awful. Little China's wasn't bad, it's in the better side. Although it was too salty for my taste. All I wanted was pork fried rice. I checked online to see that the price on Google said $9.95. I tried to call the number listed online a couple times, only to get a recording saying that the voicemail was full. I get there and order... $14.28, which immediately angered me. I usually go to No. 1 Chef on Gardena Blvd. Their pork fried rice is exceptional for $14.99. I figured I'd try Little China because of the $5 price difference, which I didn't even get. SO I order and wait 30 minutes for my pork fried rice. At this point, I'm pretty hungry and can't wait to get home to dig in. As soon as I looked at it, I could tell it was gonna suck. The rice was like mush, barely any egg and the only real pork I tasted were a few rock hard pieces of bone or tendon. Used to love this place. Now it's overpriced and not good. This time we tried it, they raised the prices substantially but the food was really good! BUT!!! After using their vinegar for the chopped onions and having downed a few, I discovered a small fly floating in the vinegar. I told the waiter, he replaced it with a new one but it was the owner or manager lady who came after we were done saying, "there is nothing you can do about insects getting in the vinegar." We had a large party on New Years Eve, and took up most of the back room. The restaurant is dated with horrible lighting, and it was a bit unnerving to come to a table with gnats just chilling on the table. The waiter was typical: rude and not happy to be there, and getting water, tea refills, or anything was a huge hurdle. The food came at a steady pace and compared to the Chinese/Korean food I have had, it was not as good. The only thing that I thought was good was the fried rice (hard to do that dish wrong) and their black bean noodles (jja jjang myun). My brother said the only thing he liked was the hot and sour soup, which again, hard to go wrong by. The string beans were as salty as can be, the garlic fried prawns were just okay with too much breading, and their Koreanized sweet and sour pork was one of the worst I've had. Little China is the typical hole in the wall, old-fashioned, Korean Chinese restaurant. The decor and tableware that they use is pretty out dated and sometimes slightly dirty, but the focus here is on the food they're making. You don't normally come to these type places because of stellar service or super cute decorations, you come for the big portions of delicious comfort food. My boyfriend's family has been coming here for years, so they know all of the servers and cooks. The owners can speak Chinese, Korean, English, and I've even heard them speaking Japanese. We normally order a few different entrees to share, and they change depending on what we are feeling. However, we always have to order the jja jiang myun, and champon because those are normally the moods we are in when we decide to come to Little China. On top of that we'll order some type of combination fried rice, sweet & sour shrimp, beef & broccoli, or egg rolls. Everything I've tried so far has been pretty good. It is ran by Chinese people who grew up in Korea (don't quote me since I'm regurgitating my mom's quick history lesson) so they are actually of Chinese ancestry but basically Korean influenced having been raised in Korea.
