You guys need to get your online ordering in order. The pizza is fine, easy enough to order and pick up. Tonight my partner and I ordered online through yelp, and when we got there we were informed they had "turned off their iPads" which I guess meant they are not receiving orders via yelp at all. We had prepaid for our order. Now apparently we have to contact yelp for reimbursement on the original online order. We were not compensated for this mistake and even got order confirmations via the yelp app. Can you all turn the yelp ordering off so others do not go through this experience? We ended up ordering a pizza and while we were waiting another customer walked in and had the same ordering experience. Seems busted to me. i used to love to order from here. Its close to my house and the pizza is great. However the last two times I ordered I had to call them to be sure my order was on the way since so much time had passed. This last time they told me that they still hadn't even started my order and it would be another 25 minutes until they did - this was after we had already waited an hour. Very disappointing bc we were having a small birthday get together for my mom (thank you covid) and this was what she wanted for her birthday. I even offered to try and pick up the order but it was just going to take too long and I had a house full of hungry people. This corner of northeast Austin is a bit of food desert but Local Slice is an awesome pizza oasis. They also deliver to my house near Samsung, so double awesome. Their standard pizza is very good, no complaints. Crust is pretty good and the the pizzas are always well cooked i.e. not soggy. The only miss we've encountered is the 5 HOUR HAWAIIAN. It has braised pork belly and it's just not that appetizing. If you want a traditional Hawaiian with regular ham, make sure to specify you want Canadian bacon, not the pork belly otherwise they will make you the one with the pork belly. read more

Just ordered TWO large pizzas. Only received one. First we were told they couldn't do anything for us. Real awesome customer service. We paid $50 for those pizzas and they refused to redeliver our second one for free. They then said we have to pay another $10 for delivery for THEIR ERROR! I am so glad I finally found a good pizza place near my mom's house. Most days when we want pizza, we just order Papa Johns because I wasn't able to find a good pizza spot near by. Yesterday I thought I'd go ahead and search for something different. Lo and behold, I found Local Slice Pizza! I decided to call in my order so I can just pick up my food and head back to south austin (home). I ordered 2 calzones. One being the spinach and artichoke and another for my son with Canadian bacon and pineapple. I was told my order should be ready in 20 min. And I was there exactly 20 min later, my order ready and only about $14+. The price wasn't bad for how big these suckers were! On my drive I couldn't control myself; the smell was so good I just wanted a bite. I finally tore off a piece from the spinach and artichoke and the cheese was soooo gooey and melty! It looked like commercials when they pick up a slice of pizza and the cheese just stretches and steams... oh man! I dipped it into the marinara sauce that comes with it and oh my goodness was it delicious! They definitely fill these calzones to the point where you just can't finish it all in one sitting. Or at least my son and I couldn't. Which is great because they left us some leftovers for the next day! Eating the leftovers was just as good. Pop them in the oven and eat it hot! Ordered a slice of pepperoni pizza and it was absolutely delicious. The crust was perfectly crispy, the sauce was very flavorful and the crust (my favorite part) was not too thick and cooked just right. Affordable: the lunch special is $7 and that's two slices and a drink (they have those cool natural sodas too). The slices are New York style HUGE. I had one for lunch and took the second home for dinner! 2. The service was quick when I went. 3. The slices as customizable. And most important, 4. They're freaking delish!! I ordered a pizza here. I was told my wait would be 40 minutes. When i came back, they told me it would be another 15 minutes. 20 minutes later, a staff member informed that they ran out of the toppings for my pizza. Mind you, while waiting i saw someone order my same pizza and get it before i did even though they came after me. I actually saw multiple people prder and receive pizza before me. I told them that i would make adjustments. 15 minutes later. Still no pizza. I walked up and asked whats going on. Believe it or not. They said they ran out of the subsitutes too and it would be 5 minutes til my pizza is done. 15 minutes later. I got my pizza which had ONE of the 4 toppings i paid for and was obviously rushed so it wasnt fully cooked. They didnt saw sorry or offer me anything. I used come here often and live nearby. I went to check this place out since it's new and close to home. Plus, I love calzone. Pros: Seems to be a nice hangout spot, to just relax and eat pizza. The guy at the counter was friendly and courteous. He told me exactly how long the wait would be and even brought my to go order to my table. Cons: Forgettable from the first bite.The calzone was not great. It was burnt on the bottom and the dough was tough, dry and flavorless. The inside was salty and just overall not well seasoned. You really have to smother it in the marinara in order to get any type of flavor from this calzone.This left such a bad taste, I don't know if I would return to try the pizza. read more

Overall, a high quality pizza you can feel good about eating! The location is small (I'm sure they do mostly take out and delivery), but it's comfortable inside with dimmer lights and not too noisy. Things I've Had: - Cheesy Breadsticks: Solid cheesy bread! It's a white cheesy, and it's a little oily. But the bread is soft, the cheese isn't overwhelming, and it's tasty with cold or warm ranch (but it comes with marinara, so you'll have to request ranch). - Garlic Knots: I'd probs pass on these. They are buttery and soft and very good for bread, but it more like a hint of olive oil and garlic. I dunno, I'm already eating bread, so I was hoping for something with a stronger garlic flavor to be worth buying again. - Elgin Pizza: Named for the type of sausage that comes in it, it is a really tasty pizza. Nice ratio of toppings. Just a little pricier than I thought it was worth, but I'm not sure what the market rate for Elgin sausage is. Note: the pizzas are listed as available in 14" and 18," but you can order a personal (10"?) size, too. - Calzone (Pepperoni and Sausage): First: IT'S HUGE! Second: had just the right amount of filling and the right ratio of meat/cheese/bread. I hate when they just overload you with meat. The crust is soft, not hard and crusty, which is nice. I really like the mozzarella cheese. Thick and hearty and not bland. This is not empanada eating style: you'll def want to pull this apart and eat it bite by bite or use utensils. read more

Other than MOD Pizza down in Mueller, there isn't much non-mega-chain pizza close to my Windsor Park neighborhood. I'd eaten at the Local Slice in Cedar Park before, so I was delighted to hear they were opening a new location off 290E, not far from my house. If you like the Cedar Park location, you won't be disappointed - the pizza at this location is virtually identical. It's that kinda floppy, thin-crust without being crunchy, NY-style of pizza.. sort of similar to Homeslice. The crust edge is soft and actually.. edible, which is also a nice bonus. Their red sauce is a little different from most NY-style pizzas I've had, but it's still quite good. They've got several delicious topping combinations - half of us really enjoyed the Tuscan and half of us (me included) really love the vegetarian Whole Hearted. The people are friendly, the prices are reasonable given the quality of ingredients, and you can even grab a 6-pack of beer to go! Doesn't get much better than that! Really glad to have this place in the neighborhood, and I hope they do well given their kind of strange location. read more
